I don’t know about y’all but I woke up with a bit more pep in my step this morning after a decent night’s sleep. President Trump’s Rally was what a whole bunch of us needed after a non stop cavalcade of disconcerting nonsense that leads to “analysis paralysis” for anyone who pays attention. My fav Warbler. Its in a serious decline due to habitat loss from immigration here and habitat destruction in its wintering habitat in South America. (the Appalachian population) The other population from the Great Lakes migrates to Mexico & central America and is not in a freefall like the Eastern population. Its an interesting bird that knew of an extreme weather event before it happened. I hope you like the pic. Peace

My favorite Warbler. It’s a Golden-winged Warbler which faces a unique challenge in that another Warbler that is closely related is more of a habitat generalist than this species and interbreeds with it and thus destroys it as the offspring do not become Golden-wing’s but Lawrence’s or Brewster’s. It also suffers from what many other wildlife species are facing, habitat fragmentation, habitat degradation, and loss of habitat from immigration. I am glad you enjoyed the pic friend. Ciao

We have not seen many monarch butterflies in a few years….I think that started with an early hurricane season then I’m wondering if the border chaos might be having an effect since then 🤷♀️
My dad is deeply involved in the ‘Pollinated Pathways’ group out of Peekskill, NY to preserve and nurture the migratory paths of the Monarch butterfly.
Attributing to much of the Monarch’s decline is the diminishing milkweed plant which provides a lot of their sustenance along their migratory route.
While they have been very successful in their efforts in Peekskill and elsewhere along the Hudson River region, it is but a small piece of the overall challenge to ‘Save the Monarch’.

I try and make my yard as pollinator/bird/wildlife friendly as possible. There are wildflower seed mixes you can buy that are formulated based on your region, and of course Milkweeds which are pretty flowers in their own right. My old backyard had a wildflower meadow chock full of Milkweeds that even attracted Woodcocks! Thanks for the info and add. Slainte

Make sure to grow more than a couple pots/plots worth.
Milk weed I’d the sole host for the eggs/caterpillars.
Its what they eat to grow, that’s it.
It’s not that the monarch’s themselves eat the milk weed,
their babies do.
So if you only have a couple plants, what will happen is that
many caterpillars won’t have enough to eat. And won’t achieve
butterfly. You are actually harming the population by only providing a plant or two.
20-30 plants is best. The monarch’s will spread out their eggs amongst the many plants, ensuring enough food for the caterpillars.

Fortunately Illinois isn’t yet on the list. I had posted about a shockingly low number of EV charging stations in downtown Chicago parking garages. Chicago has excellent mass transportation but there are still many many thousands of people who drive downtown. If they are driving EVs and want to park them in the garage for several hours or a full day, especially if they are driving in from the outer ‘burbs, they’re going to want to charge their EVs! Last time I was downtown, I noticed that my preferred garage has only one EV charger per level. I think it’s an 8 level garage with probably 120 spots per level, and there’s only one EV charger per level. lol

That the ideal candidate is not on the ballot for the general election is always an issue. It occurs to me that one must look at the ripple effects. Importantly the party wth the majority in a given legislative chamber elects the leader and that leader sets the agenda. Sen. McConnel is by no means my first choice but he did keep Merrick Garland from being seated on the Supreme Court.
I would much rather a Republican be the Senate leader than Chuck Schumer. Think about the legislative agenda and confirmation votes as to appointees.

Excellent post. I know someone who knows Jim DeMint very well and he said he left the Senate because he was frustrated with being blocked (McConnell) and felt that he could get more done outside of the Senate than as a senator. I wish he was still a Senator, and that of course was pre-MAGA.
He was a good guy. He took the top post at The Federalist Society which in our cynical world was it an agreeable pay off to step aside for Scott? Or was it an offer he couldn’t refuse? Sadly any more that’s the way I think, especially with anything swamp.

But he didn’t, we work from where we are at. He’d be derelict on his blog not to point it out, Gov. DeSantis at this point is fully RNC controlled, to that there should be no doubt. For me I have more confidence in President Trump, I think he’ll swat Gov. DeSantis aside when the time is right. But to defeat evil personified we must stick together.

A few months ago at the dermatologist’s office, my husband was being examined for a cancerous mass on his leg.
The doctor mentioned that it may have been infected with parasites so I piped in, ‘Oh, so you will be prescribing Ivermectin for him, right?’
The assistant opened her eyes wide and somewhat nodded affirmatively, while suppressing a giggle.
The doctor said, ‘We’ll see . . .’
Hubby went through two months of localized radiation at that office and is doing well, but we have never seen that initial doctor again.
And no, he did not get the Rx for Ivermectin.

FOIA the ivermectin and HCQ prescriptions from the congressional pharmacy. Don’t want/need to know who; rather, simply need to know that the pharm was issuing something that the agencies were restricting for the populace.
What would presumably issue forth from such a disclosure would be relevant to a RICO case in which insiders had specific knowledge that they acted upon both for self preservation but also for prosecution of a conspiracy and persecution of their political opposition.
