HCQ and Ivermectin are two different drugs. My doc has used both. He found that HCQ was not all that effective and according to studies coming out of So. Amer, concluded the same. OTOH, he said Ivermectin was extremely effective and he had not lost one single patient who used it. It’s only one doc, but it was someone who used both and followed studies outside the US.
HCQ was never promised to be a panacea. And those who said it was useful always said to use it in combinations.
On the other hand, being an OTC malaria drug, it should have made a big diff in malaria prone countries, if it alone was going to be helpful.
India, a place where HCQ was OTC and in prevalent use got slammed by Delta. Unfortunately, I have not heard of a breakdown on regional usage of HCQ versus Covid cases, but I presume that either Delta was sufficiently evolved to get around any HCQ benefit, or that those saying HCQ alone wasn’t useful were right.
And many of those were from complaints of HCQ tests that claimed HCQ was worthless, but that never tested how its proponents recommended it be used.
Anyways, after HCQ using India got slammed, they then proved the usefulness of IVM, yet those conducting tests ‘proved’ IVM useless.
Everything was way too politicized to ever trust these ‘experts’ again. Designing tests to fail. Throwing away all known medicine and science while claiming they were following SCIENCE. Intentionally forcing things they knew would cause harm. Destroying careers of those who resisted causing harm and who tried to heal.
Yet now they are quietly moving to confirm the practices of those they tried to destroy for those practices. No mea culpa for those they harmed, professionally or medically. No restitution. No resigning from their positions.
And they are preserving their ability to put us all through hell the next time.
The problem for me was that they, CDC and other so called health experts, never recommended anything for us to do in the early stages of Covid. Just take two aspirins and hope it didn’t evolve into your respiratory system such that you had to go to a hospital.
There were therapeutic cocktails that some doctors recommended for early treatment and our experts basically banned talking about them. To me that was a crime.
I think I may have had it early on, I refused a test and asked my Doctor what would you do for me if i had it anyway he said… NOTHING I am 70 years old and I have controlled asthma. I used my nose cleaner and albuterol in my nebulizer, and never looked back.
I have never believed in any of these “Variants”.. I thought no one but the ChiComs isolated the Coof, anyhow, let alone “Variants”..

Point is, EVERY DR KNEW there was NO BASIS for the EAU,…and they also knew that you DO NOT “send patients home from the er, to see if they get worse” in order to prevent hospitals from being overwhelmed, because that only GUARANTEES they will get overwhelmed.
ALL DR.S KNEW. Unlike PDJT, this is THEIR BUSINESS and THEY KNEW.

Yes the other drugs are both considered to be safe and approved for off-label use. People need to understand what this means.

The NIH site was updated in April, and generated interest then because at a quick glance it seemed Ivermectin was accepted as a treatment. Closer reading as you point out, indicates just the opposite.
It discredits EVERYTHING conservatives say when we are sloppy with our research and just read headlines.

Ivermectin also helped keep shingles from getting bad. Never had them, don’t take vaccines, and horse paste version came to my rescue! Didn’t know what I had until day five (thought it was chiggers for a few days), but took Ivermectin from day 5 for five days. After praying, had searched home remedies for shingles. Ivermectin was first search result! A lady had hers clear up right away. Awesome!

For topical, look into black seed oil.
It has many of the same uses as Ivermectin, but is otc and used for thousands of years. Avail at most health food stores and on Amazon.
Can be used topically for shingles, eczema, any pox-type eruptions, even bug bites (recommend doing a patch test before slathering it all over and possibly diluting with a carrier oil if you have sensitive skin, much as you would essential oils).
Can also be used orally and is used in Middle Eastern cooking, so absolutely safe. Has an interesting pine needle-ish taste.
I used it in place of IVM (1 tsp with 1 tsp local honey once a day for a couple weeks – just to make sure I was past the day 7-10 window when shortness of breath may turn up) for a short (couple days) bout with Omicron.

If it is approved as a treatment, the EUA is now defunct. It can only be instituted when no other treatment is available. Mandates need to end stat IF approved. So I have my doubts they’d end the EUA.

I got CV19 last February from someone who berated me for not getting vaxxed (in their timeline) and NEVER disclosed to me they had it, which was infuriating because they knew days before and could have spared people a LOT of stress. So I tested positive. I had been taking ivermectin weekly for about a year but when I finally came down with it, I took Ivermectin daily for 5 days. Started feeling better within 48 hours but isolated for 10 days. Yes, I believe I was very lucky. I know a lot of people who weren’t as lucky. But why did people like me who wanted to try ivermectin have to do so in secret because it was laughed at as something that “could never work” ?
My faith in the whole healthcare system and the agencies overlooking them has been absolutely shattered. I don’t trust them anymore. Think about how cheap ivermectin is. Think about all of the people who could have been spared the sickness and isolation and heartache. This was the biggest scam and human tragedy ever to have befallen on the human population. But you know lots and lots of people got really rich. They make me sick.
I’m still NOT vaxxed and will never get one.

From what I’m reading, the Republican voters in Alaska are very divided. I am concerned about low info Republicans. This is not a “concern troll”, please. I got that feedback from a J.D. It took me about seven months to get a new best friend after I had to put my bluenose down.
I was never able to get another dog after saying farewell to my best buddy over 40 years ago although I really tried hard. Just finally realized I didn’t have the heart for it. Cats are okay and I have good feline friends now.
