The facts are: The things Trump ordered to be declassified ARE declassified. To get them released is a different process and he attempted to avoid the ire of the 4th branch by trying to follow their process.

We already know that God wins in the end, but I do believe we have a role to play. We need to sue for breach of contract, get up out of our easy chairs and turn off the government propaganda machine (tv) and get out there and rally the people! The more people we can wake up to what is going on, the better our chances at survival.

Edward Gibbon’s The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire is a great achievement in some ways, in other ways it is an eccentric and awry experiment in History.
First of all, 2/3 of the book is not about Roman History per se, but deals with Western Medieval History and much more with Byzantine History after 500 A.D. How precisely does a state “decline and fall” over c. a thousand years?!
You see, his story ends with the Turks blowing down the walls of Constantinople with Venetian cannons in 1453. The Byzantines had their ups and downs: but their connections to the West were tenuous and certainly they were no longer in control of anything in the West after the reign of Justinian, the last Emperor who spoke Latin.
And so, this “Roman Empire in the East” was in fact a Greek Medieval state increasingly influenced by Oriental ideas and not by the ancient traditions of the Greek-city states or of the Roman Republic.
More importantly, his main thesis is guilty of reductionism, i.e. he blames the collapse of the Roman state in the West on Christianity and on Barbarism. Gibbon blames the former because of its focus on Eternity (“My kingdom is not of this world”) and its tendency toward pacifism and withdrawal from earthly problems. He blames the latter for obvious reasons, the physical destruction of property and cities and the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of citizens.
These events are not necessarily wrong in analyzing Rome’s disappearance (modern historians have tended to dismiss the “Christianity thesis” completely), but social *, economic, environmental, and other factors were all involved in the collapse.
* “Social” is a big one, encompassing individual and mass psychology, (multi)-cultural traditions of behavior, along with the monster of Slavery, which spills over into the economic area as well.
Certainly Gibbon’s writing style is to be greatly admired! 😉

To me, it seems that Christianity is now more authentically preserved in the east (vestiges of Constantinople, plus Russia) than in the west. Today’s Roman Catholicism, as represented by the Vatican, is some strange amalgam of traditional rituals, globalism, socialism and communism.

Certainly Roman Catholicism recognizes the legitimacy of the Greek Church, whether in communion with Rome or not. Theologically, the last three items in your list have not invaded the Church proper.
The Church as a political force used to be very much anti-Socialist and anti-Communist (rf. Pope Leo XIII, Pope Pius XII, Pope Jon Paul II), but with this current character we have seen an unwelcome change.
The Roman Republic contributed the rule of law. Very different from the whims of a dictator or the passions of a mob.
Interestingly, the Roman transition back to the whims of dictators began with abuse of the rule of law against Ceasar. He was sent to Gaul to escape this abuse, and after thoroughly conquering Gaul, couldn’t return to Rome without his soldiers to protect him from that abuse. That led to a horribly long civil war which Ceasar won, Ceasar’s assassination, more civil war, and the creation of the Emperor and his Empire.
Did you read all the volumes of “The Story of Civilization.” I tried plowing straight through. My bookmark memorializes grinding to a halt in Volume 6 “The Reformation”. Maybe I will get back to the grind someday. Lots more still to go.

Sorry, but no. Wherever you read this, the source does not have any credence.
A good number of politicians tried to become dictators two generations before Julius Caesar, who himself was a brutally ruthless dictator with lists of enemies to be executed.
Marius (uncle of Caesar), Sulla, and Pompey were dictators before Caesar, a development that was unconstitutional, since the office of dictator was always meant to be temporary during some sort of emergency (usually war, but natural disasters and other things were possible). Marius broke many of the traditions and legal restraints on consuls and set the stage for further travesties against Roman Law with political murders rising after every change in leadership.
The law was that the dictator was supposed to step down after the emergency was over. No such stepping down was in view for these men!
And Caesar was NOT “sent to Gaul” to escape the abuse of law” against him. He was already part of the First Triumvirate and in debt because of the bribery he used to become part of that group of (i.e. with Crassus and Pompey, also aspiring to be dictators).
Caesar maneuvered himself into becoming governor of Gaul and of Illyricum, because such a position would help him to pay off his debts. Roman governors too often “milked” the provinces to become rich, not unlike our politicians who become millionaires somehow after years in D.C. earning $150,000 a year in one of America’s most expensive areas.
It would seem that his initial plan was to wage a war in modern-day Romania, but that tribal conflicts in Western Europe among the Celts (i.e. Gauls) gave him an opportunity to make a name for himself militarily and to enrich himself.
It worked! His new wealth allowed him to sponsor lavish “entertainments” for the mob in Rome and his military victories – written about and published by Caesar to spread his name – made him very popular as a triumphing general.
In short, it is Caesar who “abused the law” by becoming dictator for years (starting in 49 B.C.), well beyond the original idea of the Roman Constitution. When he became dictator perpetuo (for life) that was the last straw for his opposition in the Senate.

There may come a time, shortly thereafter, that our cash will become worthless. Presently, our $100 bills are Federal Reserve notes on one side, and legal currency on the other. I’ve noticed some notes actually have a fine perforation down the center blueline. “Reportedly” they are to be the interim between paper and digital. I’m also sure that they will have a limit as to how much cash may be exchanged, during the change. If you try to change too much, you will be labeled a drug dealer or tax evader, etc..
That takes us to other metals (gold, silver, copper) and barter.
“Junk silver” (pre-1964/5? US coins) or bullion should all be readily acceptable though discouraged by the government.
Barter will be big. Anything of value including skills. Food, ammo, petroleum products, “habit-forming substances” and “luxuries” (cigarettes, alcohol, toilet paper, etc.).
Salt: I have read that the Roman soldiers were paid in salt. Become a person, “worth their salt.”
They are hitting us from every side, now with their programmable digital dollar looming on the horizon.
There will be incentives to use it. Just say NO. They will give you more in digital dollars if you turn in your cash to them. Don’t comply. It will be so so much more convenient. Don’t believe that, don’t think a digital dollar is harmless or benign.

On those Cash Fridays, educate a young person. Tell them you are using cash in case the banking system goes down. Ask them, does the internet go down? What if your cards suddenly didn’t work? Watch the light bulbs in their eyes come on. Show them the need for cash.

MCCaul the GOP Rep. from Texas on Face The Nation responded to a question about Trumps critical statements about the raid on Mar-A-Lago saying it was inflammatory. He said he was mostly concerned about the loss of confidence in our institutions and targeting of their people. He did suggest that the situation could have been handled better and less confrontational. Maybe advise the Gang Of Eight of their plans.
First, Trumps comments are not the reason people have lost faith in our institutions. They have done this to themselves over many decades. They are just doing things now that are more in your face and obviously corrupt and, in many cases, unlawful. They don’t care. They have the power and we don’t.
