My dad is visiting me for the next 2 weeks. He was in the army (back in the late 70’s to get to college). Today he tells me women are being jailed for having miscarriages – he told me to google it since I haven’t heard of that before. I did google and only 1 story from 2021 came up 🤷🏼♀️

They aren’t being jailed for having a miscarriage. They are being charged for actions they took that were determined to cause the death of their child in the womb.
If someone walked up to a pregnant woman and kicked her in the stomach killing her child he would be charged with manslaughter.
So I think the thinking behind the laws are why would it be any different if the mother, herself, took some action that killed her child in the womb?
There could be an argument made that perhaps drug abuse addiction and resulting substance abuse is an illness….and should be treated differently (forced rehab instead of manslaughter charge). However, to be clear….women are not being jailed for miscarriages.
What is he arguing for? Mandatory abortions for all drug addicts? Lock up all pregnant addicts, force them to detox, and keep their babies safe until they are born?
Her baby was already damaged from the drugs she took.
Addicts really don’t give a damn about the damage they cause. At least not on a level that makes them stop.
And it is extremely dishonest to present that as being locked up for having a miscarriage. It is not hard to understand that they don’t report it much because that will backfire on their cause. Don’t forget criminal court records are public. And news people are always checking them. They know. So why don’t they report?
Jim, I believe he’s arguing that since Roe was sent back to the states that some states have made it illegal for abortion to the point of arresting women for miscarriages…. It’s a major stretch in my mind- but I have heard the talking heads on the news saying as much.

The article itself was written in Nov 2021. While Roe was still the law. So, all the data in the article, including her conviction was under Roe.
Pretty hard to see how anybody knows what is happening in this regard since Dobbs. The decision was released just a little less than a month ago. June 24, 2022. Today is July 20, 2022. There are even ongoing court challenges to many new laws and reinstating old laws.
But, this is part of a pre-Dobbs decision campaign to conflate and deceive.

It is something we must always be on guard against. Carefully crafted lies designed to evoke sympathy and outrage to get support for murderous behavior. We saw it in COVID. We see it in everything Green. Most of the horrifying statistics used to legalize abortion pre Roe were fraudulent.
The left never changes. They lie to deceive. And they want to use force against you. Take the force away and they fall back to lying.
