So this makes me wonder why there are so many animal farms in the west when they don’t have their own feed and the feed needs to be shipped from the midwest. How did that come to be? Our agriculture and livestock industries have become a tangled web and when there is any sort of disruption to just one part of the process it wreaks havoc. Maybe we should go back to a simpler arrangement?
This reminds me of all of the stuff manufactured in China which is then shipped here to the US. Unbelievable amount of stuff. It boggles my mind that it’s cost-efficient, the people in China must be earning a pittance for their work to make that long-distance shipping cheaper than producing the stuff in the US. Am I alone in wanting a lot of manufacturing to come back to the US?
I am going to guess that growing feed in the Midwest and shipping to California has to do with the water situation.
California is the most populous state in the US. There are lots of people to feed. The people are likely better off having their meat, dairy, and eggs produced as near as practical to where they are consumed.

They sent other pending gun cases back to the appellate courts to re-consider under the stricter rules (strict scrutiny?) laid out in the bruen decsion. It limits their rulings to the language in the 2A (shall not be infringed 😎). These are not reversals per se, but doesnt 1/

I have written extensively on inverted totalitarianism, that being the once nascent, now entrenched form of government that truly controls the levers of federal power in the United States. This behemoth has turned the USA into a “managed democracy”; a bureaucracy which cannot be held accountable by the elected representatives of the people. Sometimes called the 4th estate, this monster is also referred to as the “deep state” the civil service, or the administrative state.
Inverted totalitarianism does not have an authoritarian leader, but instead is run by a non-transparent group of bureaucrats. This unelected, invisible ruling class runs the country from within. They are easily influenced by corporate interests due to both the lure of powerful jobs after federal employment and the capture of our legislative bodies by the lobbyists serving concealed corporate interests.
One element of inverted totalitarianism is that the administrative state typically inserts stricter and stricter rules and regulations to control the populace. Not at the behest of Congress or the President, but rather by and for the interests of the administrative state itself. Power begets power. We the people are forced into compliance by an unknown and unknowable invisible ruling class, with no way to even understand who, what, or how they are forcing this compliance upon us. As if that is not bad enough, in these modern times, the globalist corporations and financial groups have come to play a larger and larger role in controlling this administrative state.

Yes, it is an erosion of the edifice the left built to usurp power from the people and exercise it over the people. And it is an erosion of the protections they have granted themselves. But imagine schedule f in the hands of Fauci or the FDA.

You don’t have to imagine it at the FDA. They already steamrolled everyone who opposed their vaccine frauds, even if it was just being cautious.

One of my closest friends is a grandparent to child born at 24 weeks…and that was 19 YEARS AGO.
There was a governor of one of the southern states (LA?) that said they had diagnose one of their babies Down. Instead of aborting the baby, they took a chance and God gave them a perfectly healthy child, thus proving that the science is not always right.
My wife and I said we would not do the testing because we would God to provide us with what he wanted us to do and would not change our minds if the tests came back positive. It is scary, but you have to have faith and learn to deal with what is given to you.
That happens a lot and not just for Downs. I worked with young woman whose mother did not know she was pregnant and she had gall bladder problems and was on some really bad medications…when she found out she was pregnant the doctors told her the baby would have horrible birth defects. She had the baby and she was fine.

On Thursday, a Florida judge issued a temporary statewide injunction in regards to the state’s new abortion law banning the procedure after 15 weeks, which was set to take effect on Friday.
I can see it now, just like in California, where the justices of the STATE Supreme Court, have ruled several times against our votes at the ballot box (gay marriage, immigration, welfare for illegals, death penalty, etc), we now have to rely on state supreme courts and the political judges that sit on them on the abortion issue?
I thought that Scotus ruled that 1) there is nothing in the US Constitution that speaks of abortion thus it reverts to states and I thought, but could be wrong, that 2) the right to privacy has nothing to do with abortion.
I never understood the how on any rational level abortion and a right to privacy were related.
Taken to an absurdity, if you claim because a woman has an abortion in private thus, no state or any government has an interest in it, you could argue no government with a “right to privacy” clause has an interest in finding and indicting and trying a murderer who doesn’t plan or execute the murder in public.
It seems to me that at some point, either a state or the Feds will have to settle this once and for all by determining “personhood” for the unborn. I know they once thought they could reach agreement by dealing with viability, but as science and tech move so quickly, no sooner would they rule that a viable baby exists at 6 months and is thus a person than tech will viability even earlier.
It is by no means settled. We have to ensure that all branches of state government aren’t crooked. And that may take some time.
