Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Good morning, Home💖
Praying mightily with yesterday’s ruling that our nation is once again hearing God’s word and turning its face and hear back to Him.
Good morning Bet, joining you in that prayer for our nation. 🙏🏻❤️
Morning, G💖 We must keep praying. This is a start, but only a start.🙏
Amen Betsy.
May The Holy Spirit fill our hearts and minds.

GoodMorning,
Earlier this month you posted a devotional concerning leadership and doing the right thing. Could you possibly repost this?Thank you, and God Bless.
I’m not finding it. Could you possibly give more description?
Perhaps this one
And yet so many pastoral leaders failed in this regard during the last appalling two years…segregating their congregations or obeying the diktats of godless governments in shutting down the churches which should never ever close their doors to those who desperately need the solace that is God.
Other such orders will come. I pray those pastors who failed their parishioners and flocks will have learned the lessons.

Funny that should come up. My Granddaughter brought out to the kitchen a cardboard piece she had colored. Said it was the front of a house for Gabby the cat she was building. I looked at her and said “So your building a cat house?” She being 7 would of course not know the euphemism, and answered “yes”. Sherry, after stifling a laugh, gave me the well known “look”, and I said no more. And Allison went back to the living room to work on her construction project.
Rah, as long as Sherry or Allison are not buidling a dog house, you are good!
This is a sweet memory for you!
A “mental cocktail” as I call it…100% proof.
Indulge me, I’m a Big Shirley Temple fan!
This ’76 Lynyrd Skynyrd performance in the UK is truly iconic. It’s clearly the best, most authentic, version of Sweet Home Alabama I’ve heard. It is also professionally videoed using at least two or three cameras to capture the performance. In particular, the camera captures backup singer (on the left) Jo Jo Billingsly in her element. There—46 years ago— before 10’s of thousands of UK fans, she took her place in rock-and-roll history.
Good morning Garrison. You’ve done it again. I went from zero to rockin in just one post. But these guys awaken my Southern roots like no other. As for Jo Jo, yes, it is always a pleasure to see an artist performing who relishes their own good fortune in being there. As opposed to the performer who views it as a bit of a drag doing the same show night after night and town after town. When you’ve got a great gig, you know it and you appreciate it, you perform like Jo Jo, with your heart and soul into it and on display.
Thanks. Man am I EVER going to have a great day today. Cheers!
Good morning Levi, sure gets the blood pumping! 😀
Yes sir, Gramps. Not sure I’ll ever be old enough to not R-n-R. Cheers friend!
🙂
When it comes to the genre of Southern Rock… these guys may not have invented it, but they sure did perfect it!. I just have to leave one of their signature pieces, twelve minutes of perfections.. performed live.
Lynyrd Skynyrd “Free Bird” (Live in Atlantic City) – Album out now – YouTube
🙂
Good morning, Garrison💖 An absolutely brilliant Saturday morning song to get toes tapping and blood rushing, even if I haven’t had that first cup of coffee. Perfect.
🙂
Oh heck, I finally got back home, start catching up on all I missed and find Free Bird included. I’m firing up the afternoon cappuccino and starting the day for the second time around.
Good morning Garrison, and thank you!
🙂
IMO, LS best is “Simple Man”…………………..
🙂
Another of my all time most beloved songs. One of those songs just ticks inside of me as if it were written for me. It’s a masterpiece.
Thank God and President Trump for giving us this wonderful victory.
And the Supreme Court Justices proved there mettle tonight. They stood up to the threatening parading mob, stood up to the very real threats—then took their places where they belonged . . . and did the right thing to save America.
When you face that kind of crap and come through that’s real courage. That’s real heroism. It takes strength of character to do that. Not only for the justices but also for their family members. President Trump chose well. They served American ideals very well today. Our values won.
A very special day it was and will continue to be.
Agreed.
My Sport of the Year—
Westminister!
Trumpet the Bloodhound received Best in Show!
He is beautiful!
Winston the French Bulldog received Reserved.
Winston – what a great name for a French Bulldog!
The agility competition was wonderful to watch. The course keeps getting longer and more difficult each year. But the dogs are doing better in time!
I love to watch the dock diving…..and —–flyball!
Flyball is awesome to watch!
The interaction between the dogs and owners–special.
Can you imagine the training it takes for these dogs to accomplish those courses? Fantastic.
My wife is a dog whisperer of sorts. She travels the country judging herding events and conducting clinics. She once had a national champion named Winning Tickets Blue Moon (at intermediate level), our beloved “Windy”.
In herding events she says that the dogs’ instincts, given from the Lord Himself, inform most of their behavior; it’s the handlers that need most of the training!
Its fascinating you should write about this.
One of the very special events we always enjoyed in Wales where we lived for so long occurred in August every year…the Sheep Dog Trials. To see those dogs work!
And what you write with your lovely post I very nearly wrote myself in mine! I came so close to doing it, thinking that if anyone commented I would explain that training. Thank you for spelling out better than I could how that training works🤗
Thanks for your kind words, Betsy. I can’t wait to see all of our beloved animal friends in Heaven, for we believe that indeed we shall!
Thought you’d like this…an old stale joke…
They held the Sheepdog Trials last week. Six were found guilty.
I hold onto the hope, as do we all who have loved our animals and miss them so much, one day they will greet us at the Gates of Heaven.
And as I said in recent posts, we have a friend who judged at Crufts. Just a breed, not agility events. But she knew her dogs, and loved the experience.
I shared your joke with my wife. I daresay it will be repeated and shared across the land! And she reminded me that our Bouvier des Flanders “Windy” was a national champion at the Advanced level, not intermediate. What wonderful creations they are.
So not stale for you. I am glad. How rightly proud you must be of your very clever and fast Windy. The are wonderful.
Someone called them “Angels without Wings.” I will not gainsay that🤗
The Sheep dog trials are amazing to watch!
Are they ever!!!! The one near us was on a vast (in the truest sense of that word) estate called the VIVOD. The next goals are in August, unless the wretched covid disaster has altered the dates. You can search Vivod Sheepdog Trials for up to date info I’m pretty certain.
It’s a stunningly gorgeous place, tucked up in the Welsh forests and hills, the access to which is comprised of steep, winding narrow roads and is a lovely drive in itself.
I don’t know if the trials themselves are accessible over the internet nowadays, but it would be a wonderful thing to watch.
Now I want to watch the movie “Babe”again.
Hahaha!!! Oh how I thought of that one. A beautiful life affirming movie. We should never hear the words, “Oh I’ve never seen that one!” One of the most joyous movies ever.😍
So exciting to see that big, beautiful bloodhound win!! First time best in show for a bloodhound. Great job TRUMPet!!!
It’s Caterday, Treepers. This is one of my absolute favorite ways to celebrate my Saturdays. I wasn’t a cat person until I got married (54 years and counting). My wife on the other hand was definitely a cat person so one by one over the years cats came to live with us. For a long time it seemed like when one left us because of terminal illness or old age, another one or two would appear. Honestly, they all grew on me—how can you not be a cat person when these loving animals are in close proximity? Happily, all our kitties decided that they liked our dogs and, happily, our succession of dogs including Sweetie liked our kitties. Now we are down to just two kitties. There’s elderly but stile agile Boots and a few years younger Tinkerbell. Both were strays who recognized the otherwise invisible sign on our house and knew they’d be welcomed. And, of course, they were. Have a great Caterday, Treepers!
What you wrote about your dear cats, and the special video you shared,
was a comforting blankie to me this morning.
I have always had one or more cats since I was a little girl, and the joy and comfort they have given to me is immeasurable.
Thank you, Garrison.
🙂
I love their names! Choosing a name was always a hard thing to do for us, but somehow just the right one seemed to occur to us.
The two farm teenage cats which one day marched into our home as if they were checking into the Ritz, we named Bubble and Squeak…which is the name of a cabbage and potato dish in Britain. Silly I know. The simplest name was simply was Kitty. That one made her easier to summon. And shock of shocks, she always responded.
Memories, memories on this Caturday of all the others… sigh…
Hi, Bet. Well Boots is a gray-tabby with white feet so his name is kinda a no-brainer. Little Tinkerbell’s name has a story. Early one morning at first light I heard a kitten crying. I gathered a food dish and went outside but I couldn’t hear the kitten who was afraid and hiding. Tom Kitty, our grizzled and battle-scarred yellow tabby, enticed this tiny little black kitten out from under one of the cars and calmly led her over to where I positioned the food dish.
Tom was a street kitty and could be aggressive to other animals in “his” yard. Yet, he was so tender with this scared little kitten, showing her where I’d left her some food. For her part, she trusted Tom immediately and, watching this tiny kitten bound happily along with him, I was reminded of the little sprite in Peter Pan. Hence she’s our “Tinkerbell”.
Oh my too soft heart! The more videos I see of all sorts of animals and the unbelievable miraculous (seemingly) things they do, the more I believe that there is a bit of “human” inside them. Sometimes it seems that there is more in them than the two-legged variety.
Garrison, your story almost puts me in tears. Okay, okay…owning up…maybe just a few. Bless their kitty hearts.💓 St Francis, please watch over them all🙏
Well little “Tink” settled in and immediately became our kitty. Interestingly, although Sweetie had a strong herding instinct, she never tried herding the cats—which was just as well. For their part, they just treated her as an overly large cat. Sadly we lost old Tom several years ago. He’d had a hard life, but his time with us showed what a big kitty heart he actually had. 🙂
Oh bless his big heart. A hard life I know because we have a feral tabby the same. But as with your Tom, he has never gone hungry, thirsty or without shelter, lovingly prepared by me. So bless you, Garrison for looking after him on his terms, which are the only terms offered by cats.
For whatever life he had, I’m positive it was made so much better because you looked after him as best you could.😘
I never had cats until I got married either, almost 30 years ago now. Such amazing creatures! We now have 2 indoor cats and 3 outdoor dogs; generally we’ve always had at least 2 of each since they seem to do so much better that way.
For the first time, one of our cats “Zellie” picked me as her person! Pets are like people in our family, and many others. Such a wonderful blessing from the Lord.
They do absolutely choose, DG. You were vetted and found acceptable. No greater honour bestowed than that one by a cat. 🤗
🙂
25 June 1966
The final Beatles world tour kicked off in Munich, Germany as the Fab Four saw “Paperback Writer” leap from number 15 in the US to number 1. Although John Lennon was the Beatle who actually wrote books, the song was penned by Paul McCartney.
25 June 1967
The Beatles premiere the song “All You Need Is Love” on a worldwide TV broadcast called Our World, watched by an estimated 400 million people. The now famous opening bars are from the French national anthem, “La Marseillaise”, written and composed by Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle in 1792.
25 June 1977
Bill Conti’s “Gonna Fly Now”, the theme from the motion picture Rocky, topped the Cashbox Best Sellers chart. Conti recorded the song and the rest of the film’s score in just three hours for a total budget of $25,000, but the movie itself would go on to make over 177 million dollars in the US alone.
Morning Rebel. Missed your posts. But I see you haven’t missed a beat (punning around). Thanks. Cheers!
Happy Saturday, Levi
..my heart’s like an open book.. for the whole world to read..
——————————–
I kept a personal log book.. separate from my dive log book..
it’s one of those small “appointment” sized notebooks you get from the five and dime..
dive pay could get complicated.. so in order to keep up with my pay I had manually drawn out a calendar for each month.. and logged hours/days/weeks/months worked..
for each week we were paid a minimum of 40 hours regular pay plus 44 hours time and a half overtime pay.. just to get off our ass and go out there.. but if we have to get in the water.. it’s gonna cost a little more..
so there was “wet pay”.. one foot deep or a hundred feet deep.. if we got in the water.. that was an extra dollar or two per hour for the minimum twelve hour pay day.. eight hours regular.. and four more overtime..
then there was depth pay.. it pays per foot.. and it pays more per foot the deeper you go..
not done yet.. did you do something down there.. like welding pay.. or burning pay.. and did you take any “official” calculated risks..
like going down inside a platform jacket leg with live explosives.. penetration pay and danger pay.. along with depth pay.. and wet pay.. and your base day rate pay..
so there could potentially be upwards of $300.00 to $700.00 days.. and they were not that uncommon either.. saturation diving pay rate was a flat $900.00 per day..
I also occasionally included offshore block number locations.. vessels.. what kind of work was done.. and other pertinent details..
some pages are missing.. but 1986 is still there.. and so is 1989.. epic years..
the upcoming summer season.. going on tour.. long running jobs..
laying pipe and dredging pipe were the standard tours.. miles and miles of them..
after the lean months of winter.. the annual pipeline tours were a good gig.. better get it while the gettin’ is good..
there was the Pipeline Team.. and then there was the Dredge Team.. two totally different operations.. (I covered this in a prior blog.. but the system is not taking it.. will shorten it and try again next week..)..
as far as pipelines.. I was primarily on the Dredge Team..
..the phone rang..
..”I’m on my way..”..
Log Book.. June.. 1989..
Job: Pipeline Dredging..
Depth: 230 f.s.w. ..
Departure: Sunday.. June 4.. [port redacted]..
Vessel: Dredge Barge [name redacted]..
Location: Padre Island blocks A-31 and A-42..
[I looked up the block numbers and bathymetry.. and my notes are correct.. Block A-42 is in approximately 230 f.s.w. and Block A-31 is in approximately 280 f.s.w.]..
Date: Thursday June 22.. after 18 days straight.. no pay is shown for this one day.. we must’ve got a day off..
[..more than likely it actually was probably like two days.. because that one day off with no pay was sandwiched between weeks of paying days..
a brief overview of dive pay.. first.. we got a 12 hour day’s pay just for answering the phone – eight hours standard rate plus four hours time and a half overtime rate..
we also got a day’s pay driving to the port of departure.. and also a day’s pay for the drive back when we got back on the beach..].
so.. at best.. with only one pay day off.. I had no more than two nights sleep in my own bed..
sleeping in my own bed.. oh what a luxury that was.. waking up in my own bed was such a good feeling.. ..I’m home.. zzz.. (I digress..)..
the Company took care of us.. if we got back home just one minute after midnight.. that’s an extra 12 hour day’s pay.. even if it was just close to midnight.. it was a given.. always favor the diver..
so as a diver we had to do our part and favor the Company – just answer the fck’n phone.. I was on the team.. I had obligations.. so I always did..
it actually took a lot of self-responsibility to answer the fck’n phone.. because you already very well know who probably is on the other fck’n end of that ringing phone.. work.. team obligations.. answer it..
it was so cool to be a fck’n diver.. to be in this Company.. the best in the world.. to be on their team.. and to be considered worthy by them..
..so I always answered the fck’n phone..
..”I’m on my way..”..
Date: Friday June 23.. back to work.. still dredging..
Date: Thursday July 13.. log book shows no pay this one day.. another day off.. note says time off was to tow the dredge barge to another location..
after another 19 days straight.. and only the second day off in the last 32 days straight..
Date: Friday July 14.. back to fck’n work..
Location: South Marsh Island Block 106A.. 140.. and 145..
Depth: 220 f.s.w. and 340 f.s.w.
Job: Sandbag pipeline crossings.. my notes say there were eight of them..
Date: Monday July 31 – Tuesday August 1..
Location: South Marsh Island Block 106A.. 140.. and 145..
Note: Rode out Hurricane Chantal.. 30′ + waves.. 60 to 90 m.p.h. winds.. one barge casualty..
I covered this event in a previous post.. official NWS estimate was a category 1 “minimal” hurricane.. it was a wildly fluctuating unpredictable storm..
during the middle of the night I visited the barge control house. I glanced at the anemometer.. the needle was bouncing between 93 – 95 m.p.h. sustained winds.. with higher gusts..
ten divers from Global Marine died that night.. their lift boat (small barge.. jackup legs like a rig..) capsized.. they lost a whole dive team..
we had some divers in sat at the time.. and they were still seven days out..
Note: Sun-Mon.. August 7-8.. barge move to Ship Shoal Blocks 269-A and 322-A.. “pipeline repair” note by it..
possibly storm damage.. I recall a short diversion from our regularly scheduled tour..
Note: Friday August 18.. log note say a 20 hour pay day.. essentially a double shift.. and certainly not uncommon.. even triple shifts.. even quads..
my longest was six shifts in a row.. three days straight.. nonstop.. training.. I was paying my dues.. how bad do you want it.. eventually they will find that out.. one way or another.. but it did make everything else seem easier afterwards..
Date: Sunday August 27.. it’s been a run of 45 days offshore since I have seen or smelled land.. the pipeline is now dredged.. and the risers are installed.. a job well done..
so there you go.. it’s already been three months.. the summer tour is now over.. I was gone the whole summer season.. and scored 83 work days.. with only two days off..
I’m home.. I opened the door to my loft.. it’s quiet.. inside the musty air smells like an old vacant coat closet.. and there’s nobody waiting for me..
..but I’m home..
..home.. sweet.. home..
maybe I will clean myself up and go to the Backstage Club..
maybe somebody is waiting for me there..
——————————–
I had 26 days off before the phone rang again..
..the life of a fck’n oilfield diver..
..my heart’s like an open book.. for the whole world to read..
[official video is from their Houston, TX. concert..]
Good morning, Texian.
Long ago, when I was merely a lurker, your pieces absolutely captivated me. In part you were one of the many reasons I started commenting.
You have a tremendous gift for telling a story…your story…of times past. We have a friend on the other side of the world, no longer on these pages, who you remind me of very much.
My Saturdays are always a lot brighter when you post another chapter of your extraordinary life. Thank you for this one. And many, many blessings I wish for you.
“merely a lurker”, only slightly offended. XO
😁!!! No offense meant, SD…and so glad only slightly offended…signed Merely A. Lurker (as was).😉
thank you Betsy.. i am humbled by your kind words.. sometimes it can be scary posting a chapter.. being stuff from the heart..
chapters are written and still on the shelf because of that.. so I thought I would post a few things containing a more technical point of view..

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

The media is evacuating a massive pile of crap from its bowels concerning the overturning of Roe V. Wade. I would just like to know how they got it around their heads that have been stuck up their rectums for so long?
Has anyone else noticed that the leftists are primarily demonstrating and rioting in the far left cities in states that will continue to provide for abortion!
The fact is the question of abortion has been returned to the voters where it should have always been. There is, and never was, any “Constitutional Right” written or implied guaranteeing a right to abortion. So it is now, as it always should have been, a matter for the legislature.
Unless a bill legalizing abortion is passed by congress and signed by the President then it is a matter for each state to decide as per the Constitution. I see articles now claiming that the recent 2nd amendment ruling and the overturning of Rowe V. Wade are inconsistent and contradictory. Such articles are a typical display of leftist ability to write on a subject without comprehension of even the most basic facts. Unlike the right to bear arms the Constitution is silent on the matter of abortion or even birth control.
All of these are solid, and irrefutable points. Well said.
The right to bear arms was (is) intended to defend, protect and preserve life.
🫣Abortion? Not so much.
More deliberate twisting is:
-freedom OF religion
Not
Freedom FROM
God, Bless America
Sundance has been speaking of late in his other threads of all the pretending that is going on, rah.
Their make believe framing of this is the ultimate pretending game…deliberately, falsely framing it for the dull, ignorant screaming masses…their foot soldiers in the battle of good vs evil (which abortion surely is).
Notice how hot it is this summer? God is giving is a free trial.
We have with this ruling taken the right fork in the road as a nation, and we must continue to press forward. This is just the beginning.
Unless they can beat you over the head with them, leftists pretty much deny that there are any facts. Or that logic or common sense should ever be followed.
Everybody has their own Truths. But their enemies are always wrong.
And Leftists are never wrong. (Unless they are slow to jump on the bandwagon of whatever new Truth they are rolling out. How dare they not quickly abandon the old Truth. Just evil.)
Well, that’s how they see it. Facts, logic and Truth need not apply.
The melt season has began in the Arctic and Greenland is still gaining snow.
This is what it looked like at Summit Station near the top of the Greenland ice dome yesterday. This one of the places that the UN has claimed that “climate refugees” are going to have to go to escape from being burned up.
The two greatest depositories of terrestrial ice on earth are Antarctica and Greenland. It is from these melting that the water would come for the catastrophic sea level rise that the alarmists have been claiming is coming for the last 30 years. Antarctica had its coldest winter on record last year. This year is not much warmer and S. Australia has been getting slammed with so much snow a ski resort had to close because it was too deep.
I need to correct something. It is cold in SE Australia and Tasmania. But Antarctica is a bit warmer than average right now.
From Tony Heller:
Upala and Toki were born three weeks ago today.
Hey, those are all cute!
What breed are they?
Well you see the mother in the first photo. Tony believes the Sire is Toto that is the same breed as went with Dorthey to OZ.
The Mother is Kyri, which is the companion of Tony’s new wife.
What a gorgeous picture! It looks as if Kyri approves.
GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!😍🤗
My soap box once again. In IL the dear leader led the march in downtown Chi’town. That’s okay. He needed the walk.
As parents, and God fearing adults, we must try and keep our children and grandchildren’ innocence. Both boys and girls. It has to be done delicately and lovingly.
We need to put the clinics and PPH, out of business by way of lack of profits. Hit ’em where it hurts.
Premarital sex at a young age is just as damaging as drugs only in a different way, aw heck our government is against trafficking and that is what trafficking is for–pimping out the victim. Abortion allows that to continue as offering an “out” to the consequences of premarital sex, especially at a young age—not to mention the emotional damage it can do.

Good Saturday morning everyone. Cartoons and cereal day. Always amply filled with Hanna-Barbera, they may have been one of life’s biggest influencers for kids of our era.
Is everyone ready for a day of fun and sun? Hot here again, as it will remain, but the breeze is such an asset. I wasn’t sure how I wanted to face today but after sifting through the posts here, and Garrison’s in particular, I’m feeling like the energizer bunny. This is going to be a really good day.
Hope you all feel it too. I can feel it in the air. Gotta grab that Mojo and run with it. God bless all. Have a wonderful day. Cheers!
Have the greatest of days Levi and glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to people of good will.
Mornin’ Bet,GrandpaM,Garrison and all our great friends assembled here this Caturday.Pax vobis. 🙂
Morning Casco!
Good Evening GrandpaM…I hope you had a great day! 🙂
Gracious good morning almost afternoon (for you), my friend.💖 I always watch for you on Saturdays. And it’s always a joy to see you pop up.
I am assuming you are coal mining today but hope I maybe wrong. Fingers crossed so tightly I may never get them untangled.😉🤗
Lol! No,your weren’t wrong Bet and be careful with those fingers!(you gotta be able to type)
I was thinking of a prayer to post last night, but I was so tired that I fell asleep.Been doing a big job,but for once,it’s on my house…it’s been 20 years since I’ve done any major renovations…and I’m not getting any younger,so the time is now.
Always love to read your comments my friend and your thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated.Blessings to you and yours amiga. Casco 🙂
Morning (or afternoon as it were) Casco. Amen to your words above. Blessings friend!
And late night blessings to you as well Levi! 🙂
Good morning, Levi💖
Here is another lovely phrase I picked up in the UK…Start as you mean to go on. And it sounds as if you will be that Energizer Bunny today.
There are days at my age when I wake up to find energy starts filtering in more slowly than I’d wish. But, as it is for you, once I get my cup of tea (a prelude to my later coffee) and visit my dear friends here, somehow that energy gets a real boost. Enjoy your bright day, my friend. All the best.
My energy doesn’t arrive until I’ve had that 2nd cup of coffee. That habit started after i had my triplets.
it is another hot, beautiful day here in central alabama. May God bless you, keep you, and cause His face to shine upon you today, Betsy!
Good mornong, Rileytrips!
Only two?? That’s amazing. Spaced? Or one right after another…I’d suspect the latter, as my daughter found was more efficacious with hers.
And as difficult as it was for you back on the day, I bet you look at your lads now and wonder where on earth those days went. Long days, short years.
Stay cool in your part of the hot South. Thank you for your beautiful blessings and I do wish them for you as well all day long🙏🌷
I like the saying. It worked too, just got home from a solid day on the go and I still feel good. However, some days to start slower and some days just stay in slow mo. That’s ok, we’ve all earned those days. Best to you and yours, Betsy.
Oh so glad, Levi. So the sun didn’t drain you as it does me?
Yes, there’s no explaining what the difference is with the days, one to the next. I had one last week where one would have thought I’d run a marathon the day before. No explanation…and the day after the slow day I actually wouldn’t have minded attempting it. Just have to take them as they come and adjust.
Thank you so much for your lovely blessings😊. Hoping such blessings have been visiting your hearth and home and loved ones as well.🌷
We are both sun people. My wife is not just Italian but Sicilian. Yeah, even had family within her family. Famous enough in our original state that the family name is documented history in the annals of Henry Ford against the labor movement. Point being, since I have wandered, she and I have always spent a lot of time in the sun.
Down here it is different. The sun is so intensely hot for such a long period of time that you have to take time off. But we still have our days.
Yes, the good days and bad days of high octane energy do come and go as we age. But that’s easy enough, we just listen to our bodies. They sure do talk back more often these days. But as I tell my gal, how fortunate are we that if and when we don’t feel like doing something, we don’t have to do it?
Blessings abound. We only have to recognize them. So thank you and, yes, in deed, they do visit our hearth and home.

Receiving Yourself in the Fires of Sorrow
…what shall I say? “Father, save Me from this hour”? But for this purpose I came to this hour. “Father, glorify Your name.” —John 12:27-28
As a saint of God, my attitude toward sorrow and difficulty should not be to ask that they be prevented, but to ask that God protect me so that I may remain what He created me to be, in spite of all my fires of sorrow. Our Lord received Himself, accepting His position and realizing His purpose, in the midst of the fire of sorrow. He was saved not from the hour, but out of the hour.
We say that there ought to be no sorrow, but there is sorrow, and we have to accept and receive ourselves in its fires. If we try to evade sorrow, refusing to deal with it, we are foolish. Sorrow is one of the biggest facts in life, and there is no use in saying it should not be. Sin, sorrow, and suffering are, and it is not for us to say that God has made a mistake in allowing them.
Sorrow removes a great deal of a person’s shallowness, but it does not always make that person better. Suffering either gives me to myself or it destroys me. You cannot find or receive yourself through success, because you lose your head over pride. And you cannot receive yourself through the monotony of your daily life, because you give in to complaining. The only way to find yourself is in the fires of sorrow. Why it should be this way is immaterial. The fact is that it is true in the Scriptures and in human experience. You can always recognize who has been through the fires of sorrow and received himself, and you know that you can go to him in your moment of trouble and find that he has plenty of time for you. But if a person has not been through the fires of sorrow, he is apt to be contemptuous, having no respect or time for you, only turning you away. If you will receive yourself in the fires of sorrow, God will make you nourishment for other people.
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
When you are joyful, be joyful; when you are sad, be sad. If God has given you a sweet cup, don’t make it bitter; and if He has given you a bitter cup, don’t try and make it sweet; take things as they come.
Good morning Cat! ❤️
Good Morning grandpa and everyone else!
Have a blessed day everyone ❤️
Grandpa, forgot….still looking for you know. Wink
😂
Hey pop! Do you have any free time to spare? I know you’re extremely busy down there but could you come up(bring mrs grandpa for a vacation from the hots) to give me a hand in my forest? I think I’m seeing scratch marks on a tree, and a barker egg or two, something looks like it’s scribbled on it. A name perhaps? Your keen eye would probably be able to confirm or deny better than mine. Fingers crossed.
Good morning, Cat💖 An especially poignant one. We certainly don’t order from a menu in life, do we?

Good morning, ms.Idaho💓
Three disturbing bits of news from England and Wales today which tells me the country I loved is now beyond saving and has descended into the darkest realms of madness.
1. Johnson, at his most delusional and buffoonish, has announced that in a mere 8 years, the whole of the UK will be powered by wind “energy”. Uh…no.
2. Westminster has told civil servants they “should let transgender staff use whichever single sex toilet they want.” Worse, they are told that gender identity could ‘differ from day to day.”
My husband’s comment was “So you don’t know who you are or what you are, but you’re running our government? God help is.”
3. Wales (my beloved Wales) has put out a consultation paper which recommends that anyone under 16 years of age should be banned from buying a cup of coffee or tea to prevent “over caffeinating”.
Tea!!!! From the biggest tea drinking nation in the world. Poor poor Britain. From Empire to this.
Tragic.
Bet, that goes in the file “you can’t make that sh!t up.”
Oh no kidding!!! A nation of jobs worths is what they are now. We spend most mornings when we catch up with events across the pond eye rolling. If there were a contest for the best eye rollers, we’d walk it.
Is there a big drug abuse problem in Wales? Are many using fentanyl, and dying from overdoses?
If so, then how all the more ludicrous the recommended banning of tea and coffee drinking!
I am thinking about the US regime’s order to remove menthol and nicotine from cigarettes, but doing zip about the huge fentanyl problem. And they also are handing out crack pipes and providing drug-smoking dens.
Message: regime wants people to die, and wants to prohibit non-lethal pleasures and stress-relievers during one’s descent to death.
You know, aDoozy, I have no idea. There are areas where drug use is prevalent, like all countries. But as for the drug of choice, I have no clue.
And yes! By all means remove lesser pleasures one by one but flood the market with deadly drugs. This message brought to you by the US Government, drug pushers par excellence, in partnership with the Mexican cartels which I suspect have paid handsomely for the privilege of being left quite alone for the most part.
As for numbers 1 and 2 above, doesn’t it appear that the world has taken the guests from the Jerry Springer show and mainstreamed them all? It’s as if we’ve said “there is no mental illness except for common sense”
As an example, when I assess the madness of 1 and 2 above, and use classic psychiatric definitions I quickly conclude there is a preponderance of evidence for psychosis and delusions.
And yet, it is those of us who question the psychosis and delusion who are judged as unstable.
The whole country is subsumed in a madness I never saw while we were there, Levi. I have no explanation for it.
Johnson is a Schwab acolyte through and through. But even though he is supposed to be a Conservative (as opposed to Labour), everything he has done is anything but conservative . In fact, I’m pretty certain I can hear dear Margaret rolling in her grave.
There has always been the petty bureaucrats in Whitehall and in government, but Britain is a Nanny state. It only has gotten worse since we left. As has the world in general.
I enjoyed Neil Oliver’s latest which Sundance posted this afternoon. He seems to be the only sane voice there.
I have no answers. It is an enigma, and a very disturbing one as well.
Yes, Neil is a voice of reason. A passion for reason. Sadly, unwelcome in the elitist echelons.
None of us have answers for the intentional destruction of the west that we all see. At least not good answers.
Wicked….will anyone pay the price for knowingly inflicting this damaging gene therapy on anyone, but especially our littles? I wish there were billboards across the country showing the effects. Perhaps then parents who can’t be bothered to do their research would finally get it.
Will anyone pay the price? Not likely in this world.
I wish I had the dough – that would make a very great billboard to get across the message that this is all pure insanity.
I wish we had as well, suejeanne.
Lake of Fire for all of the devilish people responsible for this harm done to these little ones!
. . . but deliver us from the Evil One.

rah, maybe someone should doxx that ‘brave’ it. The blm/pantifas tried that crap in Johnson City a couple of years ago. Left with their tails between their legs.
Is that a new pseudonym for Ray Epps, trying to instigate another crowd again?
His fantasy world view of rural areas is unhinged and inaccurate. That’s the kindest thing I can say about this person, who clearly sits at his keyboard all day and remains uninformed in his delusions.
Get your Soros funding, join your sad army, Hateful Soul…and discover why there is no currency in ignorance. And even less in underestimating your “enemy”.
On what website was this comment made?
It’s a copy of a tweet from: Rantingly
Rantingly, is a Conservative website and they show some tweets from well known conservatives. That one was a retweet from Libs of TikTok.
Libs of TikTok (@libsoftiktok) / Twitter
I’m not on Twitter but I get to see what some prominent Conservatives are tweeting or replying to or retweeting there, including Sundance.
Thanks rah. I “follow” Libs of TikTok on Twitter, but I don’t go into twitter every day and miss lots of what LoTT posts.
Let them keep thinking that. They’ll find out, if they try, that sheriff’s run and defend those rural areas. They are definitely NOT defenseless. The entire area would volunteer to defend their lands, and the sheriff would deputize and organize them. These are people that know how to handle a rifle and a shotgun with precision – they hunt every year. I bet many rural areas already have plans in place for this.
Yep! This one has a black rifle and several other arms and the ability to spray gray matter over all that stand around the one that I judge to be the greatest threat. Having such a thing happen tends to take the starch of a crowd quickly. Sometimes I get to the point where I almost wish I were given such an opportunity. I am so tired of these know nothing punks.
If blm/antifa (they don’t deserve caps) go too far into rural America to spread their crap, they may run into some folks who will eliminate the “threat” long before the local sheriff shows up.
And, they’ll never find the bodies. However, in the following spring people will be amazed at the crops and wonder what kind of fertilizer was used………..
I think you and your gray matter sprayer are needed in LA tonight…and maybe when you’re done there in Dallas, Austin, and many more other cities in the upcoming week.
Not until there is a real war or a real threat to me and mine or my community. Then Katy bar the door.
Morning Ya’ll, 🙂
Good afternoon, Mr jay🤗 I think you’ll never run out of great selections for us, which I’m so grateful for. These are wonderful! All blessings to you for a super weekend.🌷
God Bless you, Betsy 🙂
Ooooooooo!!!! SO pretty!😍 Bless you, dear sir, as well🙏🌷
He’s a little jewel, isn’t he???
Good evening, jay. Thank you for these enjoyable selections. I loved them.
Before you get too excited about the SCOTUS ruling, you might want to read this…
https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2022/06/the_real_message_of_emdoddem.html
What just happened is that the U.S. Supreme Court has released itself from a prison of its own making. And, of course, the consequences of this decision are being grotesquely exaggerated.
All that has really happened is that SCOTUS has determined that the federal government has no responsibility regarding the regulation of medical practice. Period. In all other aspects of medical practice, the several states have always done all the licensing and regulation.
The one thing i wonder is whether in states like Idaho (and texas?) when the doctors want to go on doing aborions but the law against them has the ‘tooth’ allowing law suits, whether that will at least slow them down.
Someone posted yesterday that historically hospitals do more abortions than planned parenthood. Yesterday, after politicians said ‘yay’ re: the SC decision, the family practice assn stated no, we will continue to do what is best for our patients. Up yours?
then there is the fact that congress has ‘budgeted’ $$ for abortions. Insurance coverage??
Another comment was that citizens need to be active with their state legislators re: the laws they want for their state – even those like Idaho with anti abortion laws ‘ready to go’. What, exactly, do those state laws allow and not allow? Not what the MSM would have you believe I’ll bet
We are now, as I posted elsewhere, lawless. The Supreme Court is an empty defenestrated branch of government, if their rulings are ignored when they don’t suit an ideology.
I saw the headline at AT as I scrolled through and will now go back and read the article. Thank you for reminding me.
IMHO – you misunderstand what happened.
NOTHING changed – except SCOTUS acknowledged that it has no business interfering in the States right to regulate things ‘like’ abortion. It played the ‘get out of jail free’ card
State medical boards vs state laws – not sure who will win that one
If the state law (and if I remember correctly Texas law) allows ‘teeth’, like law suits, then MAYBE you can impact the NUMBER of abortions in a state – or MAYBE affect the latest time limit on performing an abortion – some states will allow post birth murder. Near as I can tell, all states will still allow abortions.
This is another manufactured crisis that Dems hope they can use to win elections. The problem for them is that abortion is very far down as an issue come election time. Food and gas availability and inflation are at or near the top.
The best comment I read is the need for citizens of a state to be very active with their legislators re: State laws in order to resolve this issue.
State Medical Boards are solely empowered through State Law and are supervised as such. Any outrageous rebellion would be squashed. Less obvious contentiousness could exist for a long time, because legislatures and Governors and such need political backing to act.
There is a yes – but.
After our Guv and various other elected officials said ‘yay’yesterday, the family practice assn said (in essence) we are going to continue to provide care to our patients. WE will decide, with the patient, the best course of action to provide that care.
In other words, I dare you to stop us (finger in the air?)
IMHO unless the state law has teeth (like the ability to sue), nothing will change. Especially if tax $ or insurance $ is available. For instance, re fed $$, congress provides funding. Didn’t say how – I guess things like Medicare and Medicaid?
ps – from another post I read… the real reason the ruling is moot
Fertility going forward is a big problem. Men and women may become sterile after the ‘jab’. Replacement of family members was already on the decline.
The illegals, yes, those not ‘shot’, may procreate liberally (ha ha) and they won’t want abortions. Go figure.
So the ‘industry’ has already been considering alternative $$ streams.
So the ‘protests’ are all show and no blow – so to speak.
No, I completely understand, believe me…I do. The Fed has excused itself from the heinous ordering of murder, and they have thrown the ball straight back into states’ courts. That’s why I said last night this takes the edge off what seems to be a small victory. Federalism at work.
And yes, immediately after the ruling our AG Ken Paxton stepped right up and outlawed abortion in Texas.
So of course the screeching harpies, both in government (the usual suspects) and those who are aficionados of death and low morals will not let this rest. Looking for the continuation of the battle for our most vulnerable to reach well into the years ahead.
Betsy
from this post and the one above you seem to be unhappy with the SCOTUS rulings.
This week they reversed 2 unconstitutional ‘laws’ that previous courts had put in place. How is that a bad thing?
Would you have them write ‘new’ laws?
I just read that Monday will be another day of rulings – 7, tho I don’t know what they are. Would it be a bad thing if they reverse other unconstitutional ‘laws’ passed by previous courts – or appeals courts – or state couts?
Personally I do not see that as a bad thing.
I do, however, believe it is now necessary that states step up (like Texas) and do right by their citizens.
I’m anything but unhappy. I am overjoyed. It’s a start. I’m unclear how I could be misinterpreted on this.
Roe v Wade was an appalling travesty. The SC has now struck it down. Quite right! And now my brilliant AG Paxton has invoked the Trigger Law and banned abortion in Texas. Also brilliant.
It was a win on so many levels but one important level was the recognition of State’s Rights. Some things the Federal Government has no authority to take charge of. Abortion is one of them. It was a travesty.
And I rejoice that that heinous Roe v Wade judgement from long ago was struck down on Friday!!
Thank you for clarifying. I was afraid people would not understand your position.
More than the R v W win, there is also the gun concealed carry win – for the same reason.
There are 7 more cases pending with possible decisions on Monday. We have the possibility of seeing more decisions like this. Maybe because Justice Breyer announced his retirement this summer and the ‘unknown type of person (the one who can’t say what a woman is) has senate approval to replace him.
one can always hope
PS – Idaho’s trigger is 30 days after the SC ruling – so we are good to go too. And, tho I have not tried to read the law, I believe ours has ‘teeth’ too
There are a lot of parts of this ruling that have to be untangled, all which have huge constitutional implications. I am sorry if I was unclear on my feelings about the judgment itself, my friend.
As is my wont, I tend to look past the book cover, so to speak, to see what’s in the middle of the book.
The case coming up that has my attention is the one brought by the football coach fired for praying by himself on the football field, the firing itself hideously egregious. An out and out assault on his rights. That’s the one I’m anticipating a slap down to the school which terminated his employment. I pray it will be so anyway.
me too
and i wonder about the one involving the EPA
It’s not surprising to me that these jackanapes manage to contort every situation through language and convoluted thinking into whichever agency they feel will deliver their ideology.
I stand and watch in amazement as they do it, and no one raises an eyebrow.
All part to overshadow Miranda ruling maybe

thanks for the link. another report I found left me wondering..
hmm – thinking about it
I was always under the impression that it had to do with whether or not you could take the case to court. never occurred to me the perp could sue the police.
on the other hand, since the DAs are just letting criminals out of jail perhaps the point is moot?

Still, I pray for those incarcerated, alone, because of the entrapment of merely walking into the Capitol.
I literally hunger for their exoneration and freedom.
They are individuals in pain- but also symbols of the evil and injustice
occurring in this once free republic.
God bless them and their families.
They are not forgotten!
No they are not forgotten and never will I forget the scum that have put them there.
Amen, rah. They are in a Stalinist gulag for Beria “crimes”.
Their families, some which have extremely young children separated from their fathers who, if they ever get out will not know who they are…a crime by the government inflicted upon those children…are being made to suffer the inhuman grotesque persecutions as well.
No, they nor their families are not forgotten.🙏
Amen Lorrie. They are a leading exhibit in the court of why I say America is no more. If the people want their country back we/they will have to take it back, forcefully.

At least his resume will be awesome. I was not surprised. But I bet he was.
“Extreme Federalism” . . .IMHO, those that understand the concept and recognize the dire need to call for that, I think there need to educate those of us – including myself – on how to better explain and impart this to others – give us the words to help us convey what this is all about.
“Extreme Federalism for Dummies” (like me)
It seems to me that the term is used quite a lot, necessarily so – but it needs to be put forth so that people understand that we are not calling for MORE federal overreach, extreme overreach, greater powers for the federal government but that it means the opposite!
Coupled with the need to educate ourselves in discussing “extreme federalism” I would couple that with understanding in depth “The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates” (as discussed in a recent book by that name, by Pastor Matthew Trewhiller).
There are further sources besides the Pastor’s book on “The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates” but I think it is a very good start to learning about the history of it . . . and how knowing about the Magdeburg Confession and so many other examples in the book that our Founding Fathers must have been aware of and built into the “checks and balances” for the purpose of creating those opportunities to “interpose” should the government stray into tyranny.
Now we have just seen a great miracle take place, where our Supreme Court reversed Roe v. Wade yesterday, 6-3. They have interposed themselves and of course have gained the enmity of various people for doing so -they have interposed themselves between unborn innocent babies and the abortion advocates.
I think it would be a good exercise mentally and spiritually to pray for the courage of other “lesser magistrates” in a position to interpose themselves – at all levels – standing up for school children at school board meetings, standing up against injecting babies and children with the new rounds of “vaccines”, protecting our parents and grandparents from
being taken away from us too soon by a “health industry” that is anything but in this effort to make everyone sick, not healthy!
Our dear Lord Jesus did the ultimate interposition – putting himself between us and death and Satan himself – he did this for every individual person – just go to Him and call out His name.
The DE Samuel B. Roberts has been found and is the deepest sunken ship ever found.
U.S. destroyer sunk during WWII is “deepest shipwreck ever located” (msn.com)
This Destroyer escort was among several other DEs and a Destroyer that took on a massive Japanese fleet consisting of multiple cruisers, destroyers, and the super battleship Yamato.
It was a desperate battle to save the US landing forces and the escort carriers of Taffy 3 which was one of three Task Groups having escort carriers tasked with providing air support to the troops on land and providing antisubmarine patrols. For this reason the aircraft carriers did not carry armored piercing bombs as would be used to attack heavy ships like those in the fleet of Admiral Kurita.
Despite this the aircraft took off, often with no bombs at all, and made dummy runs while others, carrying light case bombs normally used for ground support also attacked. The unarmed planes made dummy attack after dummy attack to help the aircraft that were armed with bombs to get through.
As heroic as the actions of the aviators were those of their escorting destroyer and destroyer escorts were the stuff of legend. A single turret of the Yamato weighed more than the Samuel B. Roberts. And yet these little ships, laying smoke to try and cover the escort carriers, went head on at Kurita’s fleet. Firing their 5″ guns and firing torpedoes. It was a suicide mission and if any sailor on the Samuel B. Roberts didn’t realize it their skipper, Lt. Cdr. Copeland, announced “this is a fight against overwhelming odds from which survival could not be expected.”
The Sammy B and others fought to the death. Her turrets having lost power the lead gunners mate, mortally wounded with his guts spilling on the deck was found trying to load a last round into his 5″ gun. The shell was taken from him and laid down since the gun could not be trained anyway and the abandon ship order had been given.
The escort carriers were running away as fast as they could. One didn’t make it. But the attacks from and aircraft and ferocity of the attack by the escorts convinced Kurita he was attacking Halsey’s task force and Kurita turned away missing the greatest opportunity any Admiral had during WW II to utterly destroy an enemy landing force.
There is a lot more to this story that is one of the greatest stories in US Naval history, and for anyone interested I would recommend the following book:
The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors – Audiobook Download | Listen Now! (audiobooksnow.com)
Do you think Halsey bears any responsibility for leaving the Straits unguarded in his quest to “get the carriers?”
In retrospect he should have left the battle ships under the command of Ching Chong Lee. But hindsight is 20-20. There was a time I would have answered that question with an unqualified yes!
There are clear cut cases where commanders screwed up, but to me this is not one of them. I am probably in the minority with this opinion. But on deeper analysis my impression is that the chain of command and the communications set up was screwed up from the get go. Had it not been, Halsey would have had his priorities made clear by a superior having over all command of all the naval units involved instead of relying on a days old guidance to go after what HE deemed to be the enemies main body.
Your comment “priorities made clear by a superior having over all command” is a valid point, one that I had not thought of.
Despite the USN’s flaw of seemingly always pointing the finger of blame at someone besides their hierarchy (i.e. Pearl Harbor, USS Indianapolis, etc.), I believed Nimitz had a handle on everything at that stage.
Sometimes hindsight obscures history.
Have a good one!
IMO NO commander can have a handle on tactical situations in battle from 100s of miles, let alone, 1,000s of miles away. Things change far too quickly. Adaptations and changes in orders must be timely. No plan can account for the single biggest unknown in battle and that is the actions of the enemy. There should have been an over all Naval commander on the spot having responsibility of command for all naval forces involved and there wasn’t. Halsey was given free range to use his judgment since his TF 34 was allowed the engage what he believed was the enemies main force.
Halsey acted on the last command guidance given using his best judgement based on the situation as he saw it. And really, since Carriers were by that time always believed to be located where the enemies main force was located, based on what Halsey had to go on, his actions were correct.
But that is just the opinion of a truck driver that at one time did have to lead some men in confused situations and thus perhaps has a bit of a soft spot for commanders on the spot.
Ah – Understanding both the ramifications and the depth and scope of responsibility when assuming a leadership position. And perhaps, the value of having “contingency” plans.
Keep on “double clutching”!
Amen 🙏
Amen
Amen
Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
