Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Good morning all.
The Leaf lettuce is almost ready for the first picking in our garden. Baby green peppers in evidence.
Texas Hill Country here. This year we took a chance and started planting mid-March. Had our first tomatoes and peppers picked by May 15, zucchini like crazy just from 4 plants. Have had a nice tomato crop already. Watering the garden daily, we’ll see what happens from now on. It’s going to be a long hot summer. 🥵
✝️ A devotion for today
Good Morning sunny ☀️
Interesting choice. Never heard before. Thanks for expanding my horizons 😘
Good morning Cat, always good to learn something new. ❤️
Hello there, GrandpaM.
Blood Sweat and Tears
Did a Laura Nero song you may recall: when I die
Hi Patience! TY
She wrote a lot of songs- while still a 16 YO kid, basically!- that were recorded and made famous by others.
Carol King, Fifth Dimension, Blood , Sweat and Tears, etc.
Died young, but made a big impact while living.
Thanks, sunny!
Love Laura Nero.
Soooo many great Laura Nyro songs, one after another.
Robert Earl Keen and Lyle Lovett were college roommates at Texas A&M. Living in n old house with a great front porch they enjoy making music there whenever they could. Lyle has often told the background story of how this song was created in concert, but I include it here because Robert included the description in his version of the song. This is a wonderful Texas story-song, richly described and culturally relevant of a unique time in hour musical history. LA music may have the Eagles and Jackson Browne but Texas in this golden moment had Robert and Lyle composing this wonderful song. You can almost taste that plate of enchailadas . . .
Here’s a couple more of Robert Earl’s story songs . . .
God morning, Garrison💖
Niiiiiice…
Hiya, Bet! Have a gret day. 🙂
Thank you!! Cooler for the moment anyway😉
Good morning Bet! Yesterday with the clouds the highest here was 89. Not today, though.
Had a great birthday party for Mom. A teramisu and a German chocolate cake, and Blue Bell Homemade vanilla and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream. Had to get of my no sugar with a slice of each cake and two scoops.
Lot’s of bbq leftovers for today.
Making me HONGRY as my father in law used to say😊. It all sounds delicious. Nothing better than leftover barbeque. So glad it was a great celebration for your mum ( as we’d call her in Blighty). Even the weather cooperated! Blessings, my friend🌷🙏 Stay cool and hydrated!!
And next week, G, the heat is going to again be brutal and longer it seems. FYI.😘
May make me look forward to a 2 week trip to the old country with mom. It’s been cool and wet there.
Morning Garrison, they were waiting for the Presbyterians. 😂
Morning Ya’ll 🙂
Now that’s some real fine fiddlin’ there!
Yee Haw 😎
Thanks jay 1776!
😎
Good morning, Mr jay. What a versatile instrument the violin/fiddle is. You can dress her up for company or dress her for comfort, as here. Either way, a pleasure to listen.
Blessings upon your house today and always. 💐 😎
You are a treasure, Mr jay, and a blessing yourself. 🤗
Good morning, Jay. Looks like another great music day for me from you. Thank you!! Had to work today too so won’t be able to listen til this afternoon. I can hardly wait. Hugs and big smiles!! Have a great day.
Good morning, Marti💖 Blessings for your day.
Thanks Betsy. Had a good day and now I get to listen to music that I love and just relax. Hope you had a wonderful day. Hugs and smiley face.
One of the good things about my work in the years past I could hang my little transistor radio in my piece of equipment to listen, and trucks always had at least a radio to try and tune in some music. Now even the stock radio in the Peterbuilt is kinda fancy. 😎
We still have a transistor radio for just in case. It was very useful a couple of winters ago here in Texas when we had no power.
Wow, I really enjoyed all three renditions of this song. The skill they have with violin is fantastic. The young boy with Roy Clark was so talented.
It has been many years since I had a transistor radio. My husband was able to listed to a lot of country music when he worked in his dads bakery. He started work at 4:30am and listened to a station out of Wheeling, W. Virginia. He introduced me to country when we got married and I have loved it ever since.
Rhonda vincent! Thanks. 🙂
😎
You’ve probably seen this before. I post it now because I think it’s a perfect representation of just why we so love our dogs. I think this is such a timeless video that it never really gets old. This afternoon, I found a collection of collars on the front porch. They were for Buster, for Ginger, and Scamp, and Sweetie . . . Wonderful companions all, I miss them still. Enjoy, Treepers. And Happy Cursday!!!! 🙂
Thank you, Garrison. I have seen this before, but it is worth looking at again. I have had some really great dogs over the years and I miss them a lot. My Angel would share my tea and let the grand daughter sit on her back. Angel would walk with her around the kitchen when she was learning to walk. Lots of heart ache when she passed away. Like you and other pet owners here in the treehouse we love them forever. Hugs to you .
Too short lives, Garrison. They really do take pieces of our hearts with them. 💔
🙂
Good morning Garrison. Great share. Hits the chord for me, several times over. We’ve always had one, at least one, and I suspect we always will.
Good morning, Levi…a dog or cat makes a home. We at the moment are a house…although we are grandparents for out daughter’s little love Maggie…aka The Mags and now her work in progress, Pepper, a precious little rescue. It remains to be seen if she will tapes to us The Mags does. We remain hopeful…
They do make the home, Betsy. I agree. We have one but, until February there were two. Our son then moved to Phoenix and took his girl with him. Funny thing is, we all miss her more than him. Such is the magic of our fur friends.
Oh how I understand that…heart hurt really is a thing with animals.
Good morning Levi! How is your neurologic pain? Wanted to tell you the other day when you mentioned it that before Covid my right hand would shake only when I got really pissed off. After I went through the Wuflu, including pneumonia and a 5 day hospital stay I’ve noticed it shaking quite a bit more, especially when I yawn or stretch. Go figure.
Cheers mate
Morning, Gramps. That’s an odd one but not out of line for the types of maladies we hear WuFlu is capable of inducing. You had a rough go of it. Those earlier versions were quite capable, far more robust.
The neurological pain has now subsided. One of the aftereffects of radiation was diagnosed as cervical dystonia. Whether the diagnosis is correct or not varies from one neurologist to the next. The reason for debate is that CD is muscle based spasms which might make sense for the left side of my neck. However, I was also getting the spasms on the right side of my neck and there, thanks to the radical dissection, I have no muscle. It was removed along with other non-essentials like the jugular vein, etc. So whatever the reason for the painful spasms in the neck, they have been largely absent for a good four years, until Sunday through Tuesday.
They returned full force, repeatedly with the bug infection. Gone now but on the left side of my neck is a very tender spot. The same area where I first felt a lump on the right side of my neck at the start of my cancer journey. So I’ll be keeping an eye on that.
Otherwise, I’m feeling very good and plan to get things done today. Inside and out in the heat. Have a great day, Gramps. Cheers!
Levi, our son came up for PCP treatment, which is new. He went to the same doctor the Cowboys football team uses. Not because he is special but because his lifelong friend has worked in that office for a long time and was able to finegal an appointment. My son has bad disc issues as well but for his neck this really is a Hail Mary. It’s a new treatment not just for that part of the body, but for any joints, if you want to look it up.
I can’t get him to text me back after his treatment so I’m going to have to text my daughter in law for an update on how or if it is working. This treatment is so new it seems his insurance wouldn’t cover it. I’m praying that it will help him so he’s not fighting pain at the top and bottom of his spine. Unsure if it would help nerve issues.
I’ll keep you updated on the success of it (🙏please Almighty God)…or not.
Bet, are you talking about the one where they get some blood from you, run it through a filter that let’s the red blood cells and the whites through and keeps the platelets which then are injected in the joint or the area. That one has been out there for a few years and had shown great promise. Also, can be combined with the infrared laser therapy. Another plus is that with the platelets the filter gathers some of your own stem cells and that has a positive effect.
That sound like what my friend with multiple myeloma went through at Mayo Clinic Rochester. Very space age stuff compared to mine (cut everything out within proximity, ingest the poison “chemo” and radiate the hell of of the primary).
Some treatments really are quite breathtaking in their sophistication.
Certainly interested to research it for understanding what it is. Thank, you, Betsy!
Yes, indeed, prayers for your son and relief from his sufferings.
A little history. The Battle of the Atlantic 1942. The most critical theater and time of the war in Europe.
Winston Churchill said that of all the battles of WW II, The Battle of the Atlantic caused him more concern than any other. During 1942 loses of Allied merchant ship tonnage in the Atlantic to German U-boats exceeded the Allied merchant ship tonnage launched by 10%. Britian was on the verge of starvation.
During 1942 Russia moved almost 80% of it’s war industry east of Moscow to Siberia to prevent it being overrun by the Germans. Of course when that massive movement was underway production suffered considerably.
As the US entered the war it was not prepared for Donitz to unleash his U-boats off the US East coast and the Gulf of Mexico. Ships sailing alone were silhouetted by the lights of the US cities making their detection and sinking relatively easy for the U-boat commanders. It took 3 months for the US to get organized and institute a convoy system and during that time many an east coast beach was covered with the oil from sunken ships. That was what the German U-boat commanders would come to call “The Happy times”.
Karl Donitz with his U-boat wolf packs came closer to winning the war at this time for Hitler than any of the other service commanders did at any other time during the war. If each U-boat commander had been able to sink just one more ship than they did during 1942 then the history of WW II may very well be quite different than what it is.
But from that year forward the tide began to shift.
The US’s massive ship building program was pumping out escorts and merchant ships at a rate heretofore never seen or previously ever thought possible. By the middle of 1942 3 liberty ships were being launched every day and the rate of launching steadily increased. In one case, as a publicity stunt, a Liberty ship was launched in less than 5 days from the time it’s keel was laid and was fully fitted out in another 3 days. It was the Liberty ship and T-10 tankers, standardized designs produced in prodigious numbers by applying the principles of mass production to ship building that made this possible.
Meanwhile the British were winning the signal intelligence war. They were able to read many of the communications between Donitz and his U-boat commanders and made considerable progress in being able to locate the U-boats from their radio communications using RDF. (Radio Direction Finding).
Their ASDIC (Sonar) was steadily improving as were their tactics for guarding convoys. And by the end of 1942 there were enough escorts that “Hunter Killer Groups” specifically dedicated to hunting down U-boats and not tied to the convoy escorts were being formed.
RADAR technology was continually improving over this time and by 1943 sets that were effective in detecting surfaced U-boats had been developed for aircraft.
By 1943 the first of the escort carriers began to come into service in the Atlantic to give convoys their own air cover. The attempt to have merchant ships launch an aircraft having failed to provide sufficient protection.
But the one new development that proved the most effective above all others was the development of the VLR Liberator Bomber. The “Very Long Range” Liberators were developed at the request of the British by installing an extra fuel tank in a portion of the bomb bay of a B-24 Bomber. Armed with .50 Cal. machine guns, depth charges, and with effective radar, and a high powered spot light the VLR Liberator could cover the gap in the mid Atlantic where no other aircraft could patrol before.
It was estimated that each patrol by an VLR Liberator flying out of Iceland saved at least five allied merchant ships. They didn’t have to even sink the U-boats, though they did get many of them. By forcing them to dive they prevented them from being able to intercept convoys and they could radio the location of the boats to convoy commanders so that the convoy could be rerouted and possibly a Hunter Killer Group dispatched to go after the U-boats.
By May of 1943 Donitz knew he had lost the Battle of the Atlantic and withdrew his U-boats for a time.
I’d like to write more but it is time for me to get ready to hit the road again. Perhaps later.
Excellent work. I’ve loved military history since I was a child, and always found anything with regards to WW2 utterly fascinating.
The submarine stories from WW2 held a particular fascination for me, as did the great battleships.
Ironically, when I went Army, I appreciated the Navy, but agreed with what an SFC I worked for once said about the Navy vs the Army:
“If you sink in the Navy it’s a long swim home. But you can drop me off at the tip of South America and I can walk home. Anywhere is walking distance if you’ve got the time.”
Wisdom!!!
He had an appreciation for the Navy too. He called in an air burst from the USS Missouri when his team was getting chased by a bunch of Iraqis in Kuwait. I asked what happened that they were getting chased, and he said they “had violated one of the main rules of SF, if you’re seen you’re wrong”. He said that after he called for help they looked back seeing they were still being chased. They heard the shells go over, then the explosion. They looked back again……..problem solved.
Be safe on the road. If you deliver parts in Georgetown, Ky today, many thanks.
Interesting story.
It reminds me of my father saying he wanted to get back into the merchant marine during the war, but the “gubmint” said he was too old (36) and besides because he was working at a NAS repairing aircraft, “they” wouldn’t let him because it was an essential occupation!
He said he wanted to get back on an oil tanker and the Murmansk “run” intrigued him. I’m glad he didn’t make it!

“Will You Lay Down Your Life?”
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends….I have called you friends… —John 15:13, 15
Jesus does not ask me to die for Him, but to lay down my life for Him. Peter said to the Lord, “I will lay down my life for Your sake,” and he meant it (John 13:37). He had a magnificent sense of the heroic. For us to be incapable of making this same statement Peter made would be a bad thing— our sense of duty is only fully realized through our sense of heroism. Has the Lord ever asked you, “Will you lay down your life for My sake?” (John 13:38). It is much easier to die than to lay down your life day in and day out with the sense of the high calling of God. We are not made for the bright-shining moments of life, but we have to walk in the light of them in our everyday ways. There was only one bright-shining moment in the life of Jesus, and that was on the Mount of Transfiguration. It was there that He emptied Himself of His glory for the second time, and then came down into the demon-possessed valley (seeMark 9:1-29). For thirty-three years Jesus laid down His life to do the will of His Father. “By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren” (1 John 3:16). Yet it is contrary to our human nature to do so.
If I am a friend of Jesus, I must deliberately and carefully lay down my life for Him. It is a difficult thing to do, and thank God that it is. Salvation is easy for us, because it cost God so much. But the exhibiting of salvation in my life is difficult. God saves a person, fills him with the Holy Spirit, and then says, in effect, “Now you work it out in your life, and be faithful to Me, even though the nature of everything around you is to cause you to be unfaithful.” And Jesus says to us, “…I have called you friends….” Remain faithful to your Friend, and remember that His honor is at stake in your bodily life.
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
The place for the comforter is not that of one who preaches, but of the comrade who says nothing, but prays to God about the matter. The biggest thing you can do for those who are suffering is not to talk platitudes, not to ask questions, but to get into contact with God, and the “greater works” will be done by prayer (see John 14:12–13).
Good morning, Cat💖 I’ve been thinking…
We know evil walks this earth. We can see it and its foul works. But the Shepherd’s works of hope, mercy, love, and grace are infinitely more powerful, as He uses the sheep of His pasture to magnify those rays of light.
Here is just one of so many examples…a tweet from Michelle…
“I was at the gas pump Saturday and while I was standing there, I saw a very old man in a beat up van proceed to put $6 in his tank. Before he drove away, I asked if I could fill up his tank for him. He almost cried! Broke my heart. We must take care of our elderly!”
We can shine the Light throughout our world one person at a time. We can be His message, be His emissaries of that message. There is no more glorious service. There is no deed too small…a word, a smile, a bit of conversation, a hand on the shoulder even…in these terrible times for perhaps being an answer, like Michelle to someone’s prayer.
“And the light shineth in the darkness; and the darkness comprehendeth it not.”
~~John 1:5~~
May all His love and blessings be with you…🙏
Good morning, Betsy (and All) 🌼
-beautiful and true
Good morning, Patience💖 There are good good people out there. There is a wonderful site SUNNY SKYZ, which is nothing but stories of those good people, helping others. If you ever need a lift in your spirit, I can highly recommend this as a tonic most efficacious.
Thanks (again) for good and joyful insight.

Yes, yes!🌷
Beautiful story. Thanks for sharing!
It was really worth sharing, Levi, with the kind and generous souls here.💖
Thank you Bet for sharing this beautiful story. 😍
Most welcome, G…it really touched my heart in a big way.
Bless your kindness Betsy. One cannot emphasize enough the very real positive power of simple (and not so simple) kindness. Most of us will have no idea of the potentially huge effect our simple act can have . Take for example your wonderful gesture – for all any of us know, that act of yours may well have made the difference between whether that person arrived home with murder or love in their heart. In this (your case) we’ll assume it was love – the old man is kind to his wife, she is turn is kind to the old lady next door, and so on and so on – this is how we change the world into what God intended it to be.
A beautiful story. A kind, loving, thoughtful person – God bless her.
Good morning FC. Are you up (beat) and ready to “kick it” this morning? It’s going to be a spectaculicious kind of day, enjoy it. Cheers!

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

Good Morning treehouse 🙋♀️
Sunny daze starting me prowling for obscure songs. So here’s something I found.
Can’t figure out what it means. 🤔 any idea?
The guitar sounds nice, anyway 😜
Ron “Pigpen” McKernon…keyboardest, harmonica, etc. Was not part of the heavy drug scene, believe it or not,but sadly drank himself to death at age 27(too much Ripple). This was him playing to the audience by himself between sets at a Grateful Dead show. Thanks for the obscurity FC. 🙂
Good morning, Casco💖. Hoping you are well, back to you old self. Blessings, my friend.
Good morning Betsy. Best to you and yours on this very fine day. Cheers!
Evening mi amiga!!! Doing well.Biopsy results back…all benign…O frabjous day!Callooh!Calley! He chortled in his joy. 🙂
Good morning Casco, thanks for the background on that one. Very cool. And thanks to Cat for putting it out here. Never owned a Dead album, only know what I heard from the radio so this was brand spanking for me.
Have a wonderful day, my friend. Blessings.
Great Evening Levi.So glad to see you are beating covid.Great news!
Yeah,I like all kinds of music…rock n’ roll,country,R & B,motown,jazz,big band,classical,reggae,etc.Pretty much everything except rap/hip hop,techno and opera.
That being said,I grew up on sorts of stuff like the Allman Bros,Santana,Grateful Dead,Hendrix,Stones,Beatles, etc. As far as the Dead are concerned, this is a really poor example of their music, albeit superobscure. It all depends on what kind of music you like, and I’m sure there is a Dead album in that genre.
Blessings to you as well my friend and I hope that Sundance is having success beating it as well. 🙂
Mornin’ comrade infidels.
Yes, Branco got one exactly right. Changing lives indeed.
Good morning everyone. Chipper and eager for today’s full bounce back from WuFlu. I won’t test again until tomorrow but I’m calling it over, done, defeated. Elvis has left the building. Thank you all for the support, thoughts and prayer. Thankfully, this was a short and easy ride. I am now a firm believer in the Ivermectin protocol.
That said, hope everyone else is feeling just as chipper and eager to tackle this day and hug every last ounce of joy from it that it has to offer. Make some memories. God bless one and all. Cheers!
🙌 🙌 🙌 Praise the Lord!
‘That Saharan sand has given me a sore throat. Think I’m going to have a sip of ivermectin just for funs. 😂
Good morning Gramps. Well, I hope it’s not WuFlu but if it is, the AFLDs scripts and additional treatment recommendations are mostly what I followed. Plus a couple of other things I had read about and decided to include.
IVM is good stuff. Sip liberally. My turn to send up a request in your name. Consider it done.
How was that birthday celebration Can’t thank you enough for putting dinner plans in my head yesterday. It was exactly what I needed/wanted. That’s one hell of a talent you employ.
Best to you and yours. Have a wonderful day.
LOL! The birthday was great! Just had some leftover bbq to help with the sore throat. Thank you for the prayers. I’ll take as many as I can.
Blessings.
In that case, a couple more went up for you. Have a great night and feel better in the morning.
I’ll add some prayers for you too GrandpaM.Be well amigo!
Glory to God, Levi!
So glad to hear of your recovery.
Blessings

The adversary deliberately used the rainbow as their symbol to denote a transformation of mankind into something un-natural and un-Godly—transgender, gay, queer etc.
They all hate God, and so co-opted his gift in the last earthly transformation as their corrupted symbol in humanity’s new transformation – which they are driving – into something wicked.
The month of June was always for weddings, ie BRIDE month. Now it is PRIDE month, and no traditional weddings. Do you see whar they did here?
Good afternoon, ladyvin. It is not hard to see how they have destroyed June. Just as they are destroying marriages. I had forgotten about “pride comes before the Fall”. We have to keep praying for God to take care of these evil people. It will come, we have to have faith and do what we can to stop the evil.
. . . but deliver us from the Evil One.
