Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Morning Ya’ll 🙂
Morning Jay. Holy smokes ripping thrashing and scorching the six string.

Sorry Levi, tricky finger:-(
Great variety shown here.
But my age and musical preferences require me to cast my vote for #1 and #2 in an equal tie.
Thanks Jay!

✝️ A devotion for today
One More . . .
I’m not a fan of their politics, but I am a huge fan of their voices and their music. The harmonies they created are beyond compare… stunning and flawless. And the lyrics of so many of their songs are genius as well. Dazzled by the alliteration in “helplessly Hoping” and marveling at the depth in Southern Cross
Agreed. And “Southern Cross” is simply a timeless song. Enjoying the video and listening to the song last night, it was as fresh and enjoyable as it was so many years ago when I first heard it. Stills is wonderfully accomplished musician.
I think progressive politics is profoundly wrong. That said, in the 70’s when I was in school I was hard left. Fortunately, I received an excellent education which provided me with one of those midnight epiphanies that convinced me that I could no longer be a leftest.
but I was “bothered” that this particular version of Southern Cross does not include the last verse… and that is one that tells so much about all of us. Here is the song with that “missing” verse
Southern Cross with lyrics – Crosby, Stills, and Nash – video Dailymotion
Great imagery, typical of CSN’s music (only occasionally Y). those times were characterized my fragile and ephemeral relationships. Hotel California is a very good history of LA music in the 60’s and 70’s, btw. It was a time that was especially hard on women in R8R, almost none of whom—Ronstadt, Mitchell, and others— developed lasting relationships and ended up alone. The basic problems were talent, fame, drugs, youth, and lots and lots of newly earned money.
What Still’s lyrics tell us is just how barren and wanting his emotions were at that time.
Wonderful song in it’s own right but also poignant. When you are unfaithful in a love relationship you violate a sacred trust—it always leaves a mark. Musicians from that time, both men and women, have lots of scar tissue.
Seems you and I had very similar ideological growth patterns. I agree with both you and Benzy here. And I very much liked CSN (&Y) original music from ’69 into the early ’70s.
Happy Caterday, Treepers. Pet you’re kitties for me!!! 🙂
There is a huge amount of discussion going on about the recent spree killers. Who are they? Why do they want to kill innocents? Here are a few brief observations. Spree killers tend to have some common characteristscs. They are alienated. They are social failures with limited social skills and few friends. They have low self images. They are consumed with anger.
Spree killers want to send a message to the world. They choose vulnerable targets: churches, schools, food markets, shopping malls which are usually undefended and where they can kill the largest numbers of people. They know that killing a lot of people will insure that the media will make them famous—everyone will know their name, everyone will “get” their message. For this reason, they are careful to choose the “right” weapon—typically an AR15 pattern rifle—a gun that is most feared and which will guarantee to get the most attention from the press.
For the first and only time in their miserable lives they will be a star in their own movie. And the news media and cynical political class will be an all-to-predictable partner in their evil charade.
I’m betting that you could put the antifa freak in that great analysis and come up with the same conclusion.
Except Antifa hide themselves behind head gear and masks and go to great lengths to NOT seek individual notoriety, but to publicly carry out the organization’s mission to terrorize by violently interfering with conservative-leaning protests and public gatherings.
Also, they are usually on antidepressants like Paxil and/or Ritalin. Funny how those work in the brain.
Good morning, Garrison.💓
I have read a couple of well written articles the past week on this. Each author found that in most cases the perpetrators of these horrible acts were missing the one same thing…a father in the home. A costly absence for a killer, and then for those who become his victims.
“Daddy spanked me” call 911 abusive father alert.
Im having to deal with kids I watched grow up without fathers, easiest description, their lost. The lost boys!
Thing is girls are racking up body counts too, sexing 100 to 200 guys by age 20. That gets internalized and later you have a mess. Add a few abortions, they are insane before 25. They go for drugs, become obese, ect.
So when you see an obese woman screaming insanely some tripe about rights, understand she ain’t all there. More than likely she was abused.
Love them when they are the most unlovable. Doesn’t mean allow anything, it means love them. Love is tough sometimes but if it saves, ya done good.
Parents job is the hardest most thankless job there is, it’s why abortions are so prevalent. It’s Why dads run! But, as each of Gods most precious gifts or blessings, the rewards are worth it.
Thus the full on assault of men, masculine men, with a focus on fathers…without whom we can all see the effects of. The odious Lyndon started with his eternal welfare state. As an example until that time black families were marrying, rearing children, two parents in the house and working by numbers which now have been decimated. Most all families today by necessity need two paychecks to survive. That has an effect.
The family has always been the target. And this is where we are as a result of decades spent in eradicating a father’s role. A tragedy for us all.
Good morning Betsy! My first question after the Uvalde news broke was “was there a father in the house?”
The government is the most abusive parent.
Good morning, G💖 Mine as well. And of course the answer was as expected. Barely a mother either.
While we all know responsible, successful people from absent-father families, I think you are right: An absent-father—all too often but not always—means an absence of essential values that can be very hard to acquire through other means. And without those values being present in a young person’s life experience the potential for being a dysfunctional adult is high.
My twin grandsons, now 17, have a not very good role model as their father.
Our decision to up stakes and move from Wales was sudden and occurred when they were only 3 months old and their family was intact.
Fast forward to today. My husband has mercifully been here to step into the role which should have been with their dad. They and their sister, fourteen, adore him, listen to him, can’t wait to see him. He has been a gift to them. They are all respectful of us and others, focused, and a joy to be around with firm moral centers, as we have been in the bless-ed position to guide them.
My round about point is this. I believe with every fibre of my being, Almighty God knew we’d be needed (even if at the time we moved that was anything but apparent), but especially did He know my husband had a mission to fulfill. Having lost his own two sons to muscular dystrophy, God has been merciful and full of grace in providing him an additional chance to be a dad to our grandsons and granddaughter. In him, they’ve they have had a loving and strong father. And their lives going forward will be so much better for it.
He does work in mysterious ways, does our God. Even when we can’t forsee when those future blessings may come. We are so grateful. I wish other youngsters with absent fathers had such saving graces. So God love those men who recognizing the need, step up to fulfill it. There are many such giving men. May he bless them all, and their charges.
A few years ago, I had an opportunity to study craftsmanship. Every accomplished craftsman I studied told me about how they had been mentored by an older adult—usually a father, grandfather, close relative, but also a neighbor or just a good friend or boss. It’s how the essential values they needed to do an excellent job was passed on. If you spend any time in working shops where craftsmanship is present and required, you can quickly see the people who have it and those who don’t.
How very interesting, Garrison!! Interesting because you’d just described my husband’s and his father’s relationship to a tee. And I agree with you 100%.
Where are those technical classes, as I call them in our schools now? Gone. But I understand what you mean. My husband is a jack of all trades, master of all trades because of his father and post war schools in Britain. He is accomplished in everything, from plumbing, electrical, building, mechanics, design, and wood working. All these things, plus the discipline and patience needed to do them came from his father, who was patient with him and clever in how he taught him.
They were worse than dirt poor but had the one thing that mattered. An intact family with a craftsman at the helm. I understand what you wrote so well. You are not wrong.
It’s a mystery to me where they obtain their weapon of choice? I dont get this… they are isolated loners, on the younger side of adulthood… does internet shopping deliver weapons? Is their one social outing/ interaction with a gun shop? Are the weapons registered?
I have a nephew who is a loner, isolated, never graduated h.s. because it was too hard to get out of bed, take the bus, etc.
He is 21 and has never done a thing in his life. Zero friends. Never a job. Nothing. How would someone like (this profile) get access? Learn how to use it? Let alone drive to the place (as example, nephew has no license, never driven).
I parallel my nephew with these characteristics, yet I am still surprised how spree killers can gather themselves together to do evil things. But I guess if one has enough anger, that would be their motivator.
While we can’t get into the heads of killers, we can reach an indisputable conclusion: spree killers want to kill people. While we can identify the potential demographic, the actual cause will remain mysterious. By far the vast majority of socially isolated people have no thoughts of killing innocent people. That, I think, is a significant difference.
Good morning Slowcobra, if you by a gun online it is shipped to a FFL holder. The websites normally have a number of gun shops that they can ship to and you then can pick it up for a small fee. And of course, there is the background checks before you pick it up.
And guns are not supposed to be registered although a legally purchased gun can be tracked to the store, I’m sure.
However, if the gun was supplied by one of the three letter agencies, good luck on finding anything out.
Then there is this thing, a lot of every day tools, cars, trucks, etc. can and have been used as mass murder weapons.
Good point, GrandpaM! Guns are a symbol but are not the cause of spree killing. Gun controllers, cynical members of the political class (including media talking heads) constantly conflate guns with causality because doing so furthers their political agenda. But, as the NRA has said for decades now: guns don’t kill people–it is people who kill people. A tiny slice of a particular demographic provides a few really bad people who want to kill innocents. These bad people are the cause. The guns they use are just the tools they use.
In the UK, G, most guns are banned. Farmers and the like must have guns to keep vermin down, and, of course, for shoots. My sister in law has a couple. But there are strict conditions for owning…registering, under lock and key in a secure cabinet, police carry out checks now and again, blah, blah.
So what does dear Blighty have now?? Knife crime here there and everywhere. All the time. Weapon of choice. There is an epidemic of it. Two MPs have been killed with them. The answer?? Of course it is for the state to put restrictions on knife buying. Even a sealed package of Thomas the Tank starter forks, spoons, and knives for youngsters are under lock and key. Don’t get me started on trying to buy a kitchen knife. The inanity of the nanny state is just so STUPID!!
And of course there are machetes, a horrific Islamist attacker using one to behead an UNARMED police officer. Gun crime, by the way, still exists. But gosh forbid a legal and licensed gun owner dare protect himself or injure an armed criminal who, say, breaks into his house.
That actually happened to a friend of a friend there. In the middle of the night. But he and his wife caught this person on the landing just outside their bedroom. The husband wrestled with the knife wielder, injuring him and himself in the process, but otherwise survived.
No prizes for guessing who was prosecuted and went to prison. He’s not the only one either.
Self defense is so quaint now. But you make the best argument. If no guns are allowed for protection, there are no such constraints on those who don’t give a flip about what the law says. And if they did? There are plenty of other things available for those who mean to kill or maim to do their worst. Remember the Christmas market slaughter a few years back in Europe? Guns? No indeed…motor vehicles. It can he done, and it will continue to be done, no matter what is taken away from the general law abiding public.
Case closed against the tyrants who use safety as the basis for their perverted and all too obvious intent to make serfs out of us all.
If the home invader was a minority, a member of an exploited/oppressed group he could be judged to have less guilt than the more upper-class person’s home he invaded. If there’s a class difference in property crime woke dogma says that both parties must share collective guilt. This is why property crime in LA and SF isn’t prosecuted.
And if TPTB manage to disarm the US we’ll see a repeat of what happened in Eastern Europe after WWII when the Russian Red Army ran over it with untold number of people being killed just for thinking differently. With Antifa and BLM waiting to be the new NKVD.
I for one thing will not submit.
Guns don’t kill people communists kill people.
“Go insane” that’s funny! They are insane.
Interaction with others is needed for sanity but also as a barometer if you are insane or going insane.
And everyone has a bit of insanity, but when you hear voices telling you to kill, or your bad, and nobody else does, you need to get help and most are so wrapped up in social media they don’t even know it.
IMHO, the internet is being used to create these people purposefully. They say they read thoughts now, why can’t they reverse that and plant thoughts?
” . . . solitary humans living in rental boxes . . .” Well, said! 🙂
Sorry, but those aren’t observations, they are mind-reading.
Very well stated.
Especially that the news media and political class are “….partner(s) in their evil charade.” That’s an absolute fact.
What is unspoken but I believe to be disgustingly true is that those same two groups you listed are always chomping at the bit for yet another mass-shooting with high body count, upon which they instantaneously launch their anti-gun tirades before the victims’ bodies are even cold.

Good afternoon rebel! One more
NATIONAL BLACK BEAR DAY
Found in 40 U.S. states and every Canadian province, the black bear’s enormous range is only beaten by one other four-legged mammal, the whitetail deer.
According to North Carolina Black Bear Biologist, Colleen Olfenbuttel, coastal North Carolina has the largest black bears on the planet. The current world record and the previous world record came from North Carolina. She also points out the northeastern part of the state also has the world’s highest black bear densities. In North Carolina black bears have access to high protein crops and enjoy mild winters – which is why they are so many bears and grow to be so enormous there.
That one has been eating very good, enough to hibernate for 2 winters.
Many years ago as a young lad of five or so, driving through the Smokies my mother got out of the car to FEED a bear some chocolate candy. Back then bears were everywhere, at every pullover through the park foraging through the trash cans for picnic remains.
She lived to tell the story. We laugh about it now. It is funniest when both her and my dad share it together. But I’m here to tell you it was only by God’s grace that she did not get mauled or worse. They move quick when they want to.
Levi!!!l I forgot to tell you per your reference to Howard Johnson motels…
The last one has just now closed. How funny we were discussing it a few days back and virtually the next day I saw the announcement.
As we’d say in Blighty… Farewell HoJo, we hardly knew ye.
Crazy. Who’da thunk it (that one still existed).
It was in Lake George, NY.
Good morning Levi, the bears sure can move fast. If you get charged by a grizzly you have 3.5 seconds to take a shot and you better place it right.
That said in places like Grand Teton a lot more people get injured by female moose (meese?) then bears.
The one that your mom fed must have really liked chocolate 🙂.
LOL. It did like chocolate. It stopped just short of her where she fell. face plant, on the side of the road. But as she fell she threw the chocolate over her head. Oddly enough she never attempted it again.
I wouldn’t tango with a Moose either. Grizzlies? Nope. I like em just fine in books and documentaries.
Have a beautiful day, Gramps! It’s a mite weathery here today but all good.
In the Smokies they pay hunters to go out and cull feral hogs which can potentially eat up much of what black bears forage and thus decrease their population.
In my time in the Army I saw black bears several times in the wild. Every time but once what I saw were their tail ends as they ran away from us.
But one time it was different. We in the Ranger Jungle training area if Florida which is on part of the huge Eglin AFB complex training. Moving tactically we had crossed the Yellow river the evening before and moved a short distance from the river bank and set up a perimeter to bivouac. My place on the perimeter was on the trail we had come up on from the river. We did move at night quite often but in certain places, like where we were at, the potential for being snake bit by a water moccasin or rattler when moving at night was high and we had already made a long movement the night and day before.
I was laying on my sleeping pad in my underwear, my boots and uniform drying from the crossing. All I had hanging over me was a mosquito net I had rigged. After dark I heard a noise coming up the trail. It was pitch black under the tree canopy. Back in those days each team was only issued two ANPVS 5 night vision googles. I didn’t have one of them. So I couldn’t see a thing.
As it got closer I heard it’s breathing and smelled it. It was a black bear. My M-16A2 was loaded with blanks and I had no live rounds. I didn’t even have a star cluster or parachute flare. All I had was my K-Bar and it was in my hand. It got close to me, real close, then moved away circling the perimeter. Everyone maintained noise and light discipline as it circled around. It finally went on it’s way.
On that trip I was sick. I suspected I had Mono. I lost 15 lbs. but I was the only medic on the team and a team cannot deploy, even for training, without a medic. We made three jumps at night from MC-130 blackbirds. The Special Ops version of the C-130. We isolated and planned our mission, then made a final night jump from one of those aircraft and off we went.
I knew I was not up to par but drove on. When we got back to Ft. Devens, I went to the TMC and told them I had Mono. The monospot came up positive. The doc said I had it but it looked like I was on the back side of it and gave me a profile for no PT or heavy duty for a week.
I spent a lot of time hiking in the Colorado Rockies and California’s Sierra Nevada. But surprisingly, my first bear sighting was about an hour and a half from D.C., in Shenandoah National Park.

The Never-Failing God
For He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. — Hebrews 13:5
What line does my thought take? Does it turn to what God says or to what I fear? Am I learning to say not what God says, but to say something after I have heard what He says? “He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”
“I will in no wise fail thee” (rv) — not for all my sin and selfishness and stubbornness and waywardness. Have I really let God say to me that He will never fail me? If I have listened to this say-so of God’s, then let me listen again.
“Neither will I in any wise forsake thee” (rv). Sometimes it is not difficulty that makes me think God will forsake me, but drudgery. There is no Hill Difficulty to climb, no vision given, nothing wonderful or beautiful, just the commonplace day in and day out — can I hear God’s say-so in these things?
We have the idea that God is going to do some exceptional thing, that He is preparing and fitting us for some extraordinary thing by and by, but as we go on in grace we find that God is glorifying Himself here and now, in the present minute. If we have God’s say-so behind us, the most amazing strength comes, and we learn to sing in the ordinary days and ways.
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
The life of Abraham is an illustration of two things: of unreserved surrender to God, and of God’s complete possession of a child of His for His own highest end.
Good morning FC. Have a blessed and beautiful day and keep smiling.
Good morning, Levi💖 I hope you have a gorgeous, peaceful weekend, dear sir.
Good Morning Levi ❤️
Breathe in the day, laugh, love and find something that brings joy, smiles!!!
And that’s meant for everybody!!!! ❤️
Live Love and Laugh……words for life.
Good afternoon Cat! I am enjoying time with the Nipper. Blessings to you!
Good morning, Cat💖 So much of what Spurgeon says here, I have been strongly contemplating this week. How “interesting” this is the one of his sermons which you’ve posted. For me, an answering of my questions. I should be surprised at the timeliness of it. But I am not surprised at all. Blessings to you, girl🙏
Good Morning Betsy! Be a dear and send some of your energy thru the webs, will you? Worked so hard, much yesterday, I feel like I burned out my overdrive 😂
Have a blessed day, my friend ❤️
Cat, I’ll have to find my supply first. When I do, all I have is yours😉.
I’ll help look, rummaging thru back truck bed…watch out….boomerang, nope…tomahawk…nope….axe… nope…chain and rope, nope not there either. Betsy, where did I put the energy? Retracing steps…. 🤔
😂 😂
As a aside to this, Cat, we have started taking B-12 supplements…not just any B-12. The methylcobalamin ones.
And I will say, while we will never regain the energy of our youth, we have found that we are actually less tired and more energetic. They work for us so I am passing this for you to consider.
My gosh the silver covid lining for us, if there is one, is I’ve discovered supplements which have probably helped us to stay healthier than we might have otherwise been. Can’t prove it of course..nevertheless, that’s what I believe, and I will not be disabused of that belief!😉💐💖
Think about this, when you follow Gods word first, when it is second nature, God becomes more real more available to you. Your heavenly sun will shine its light on your life revealing all things. It’s not done by prayer but obedience, and Jesus points that out. Enoch, walked with God? In obedience we see God, and are saved.
The LORD is in his holy temple. The way to follow Christ has been shown us. The peace of Christ is more than the absence of trouble. It includes everything which makes for our highest good. The world’s approach to peace is avoidance of trouble and a refusal to face unpleasant things. Jesus offers the peace which conquers our fears and anxieties. Nothing can take us from the peace and joy of Jesus Christ.
No sorrow or grief, no danger, no suffering can make it less.
PLEASEE PRAY FOR ONNE ANOTHER
?w=850&h=680
O God, merciful Father who despiseth not the sighing of a contrite heart, nor the desire of such as are sorrowful; Mercifully assist our prayers which we make before thee in our troubles and adversities, whensoever they oppress us; and graciously hear us, that those evils which the craft and subtlety of the devil or man worketh against us, may, by thy good providence, be brought to nought; that we thy servants, being hurt by no persecutions, may evermore give thanks unto thee in thy holy Church; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
May I ask of my fellows here to offer deep prayers for the family whose grandfather and 4 grandsons were murdered on their small getaway property in Texas by a person who “escaped” from a prison van. The killer was a cartel member serving 2 life sentences for murder. He thankfully has been executed by the police who caught him, but not before he massacred another 5, all of which were just having a lovely together time. Please also pray for the souls of this grandfather and his beloved grandsons…18, 16, and 11 year old twins.
The story is on Gateway Pundit. I am bereft for the avoidable loss of this family🙏
🙏
Mornin’ Betsy.
I am feeling the same pain you are over this horrible murder. More of Obama’s transformation of America?
Lord, have mercy on these souls. Memory eternal.✝
Good morning, Lonestar. Yes. Or as Gates of Vienna refers to them, culture enrichers. A much more gentle and pc name.
I looked at the pictures of this family, and my heart broke into a millions pieces. Even now, I’m having a difficult time holding the tears back. I hope so much I am wrong, but with our border intentionally obliterated, I suspect we will be seeing more of this. Devastating for their family seems to be a woefully inadequate description for what they are all enduring.
I understand and agree.
Betsy, thank you for alerting us to the gateway story so more prayers can be said.
Slowcobra, I didn’t have to put the story here, but if ever a family needed prayers on this day, they are one. And I knew we’d all gladly offer them in abundance. 🙏 You’re welcome.
Good morning Betsy. Awful story. And a preventable story like so many others we read about. Prayers delivered.
Betsy, I am praying for the family. My heart is aching. Those culture enrichers need to be enriched by copper and lead.
Cam you imagine, G? Up with the boys to have a good day out on a private piece of property…see y’all when you get back…have a great time…and off they go.
My own and their families have a family place in that area, very similar. I sent them the story and made sure the guys carry and have weapons. As they hunt those feral hogs I felt certain they would, but I felt they needed to up their game on being watchful. It doesn’t hurt to warn because it could happen to anybody. Waiting for details on the “escape” from the prison van. I’m feeling there is some terrible backstory to come.
So now we learn the Authorities didn’t warn that the killer was on the loose and in the area. Radio announcements. Stop whatever is going on with the television stations and warn people!
All it would have taken is a text as well, as is done with Amber Alerts. That’s all!!!!
Is Texas a failed state?? Because everyone in enforcement seems to be totally incompetent.
That’s why I carry everywhere Bet. And that’s not just for feral hogs.
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

BABY LIVES MATTER
Good morning everyone. Happy Saturday.
How many of you are fortunate enough to still be in touch with childhood friends? That really is a gift.
Morning prayers delivered. Have a very blessed day.
I am in regular communication with my childhood girlfriend. we grew up together in church, then went to high school together. We were, and still are, best buds at age 67.
It’s a wonderful thing to have someone who knows you so well, who cares deeply for you, shares great memories, and laughs at the same things.
I am blessed.
Beautiful. Yes, very special. Such a gift.
Mornin’ Levi.
Blessings
Good morning Lonestar. Blessings to you and yours!
Good morning all,
Yesterday I was under the weather and did not mow. But it is a beautiful day today and I am fit for service so it will get done.
Meanwhile the Climatenistas are kicking and screaming as usual.
POLITICO: ‘Climate Agenda Under Biden Has Been Stifled’ – Watts Up With That?
So to sum it up: With the midterms looming, the democrats in Congress are unwilling to be politically crucified on the cross of Climate Change by their constituents for passing legislation that would materially effect their well being and increase already skyrocketing inflation?
This even as their press screams from high heaven about the level of CO2 reaching “twice the preindustrial level”?
Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide Levels Reach New High | Scripps Institution of Oceanography (ucsd.edu)
Climate Change is a major emergency they say, but their actions show that it certainly is not enough of an emergency in their minds to risk compromising their chances to be reelected even more than they already are since many of them already are facing an uphill battle to retain their seats due to the unpopularity of this administrations agenda and it’s serious effects on the poor and middle class households.

Today we remember St. Petroc of Wales
He was a teacher to St. Kevin, who is remembered June 3
To Saint Petroc (sometimes spelt Petrock in English, Pedrog in Welsh and Perreux in French) (d. 564) is a 6th century Celtic Christian saint. He was born in Wales but primarily ministered to the Britons of Dumnonia which included the modern counties of Devon (Dewnans), Cornwall (Kernow), and parts of Somerset (Gwlas an Hav) and Dorset. He is also known to have ministered to the people of Brittany.
Old Welsh genealogies record that he was a younger son of King Glywys Cernyw of Glywysing (now Glamorgan), and there are local dedications to him at St Petrox near Pembroke and Ferwig near Cardigan. He has also given his name to Llanbedrog, a village on the Lleyn peninsula. He studied in Ireland (where he was the teacher of Saint Kevin).
After studying, he began his mission to Cornwall, where he founded monasteries at Padstow and Bodmin. Padstow, which is named after him (Pedroc-stowe, or ‘Petrock’s Place’), appears to have been his base for some time. There are numerous other dedications to him throughout Cornwall and he is even said to have converted its king, Constantine of Dumnonia, to Christianity. After thirty years, legend says that he went on the pilgrimage to Rome by way of Brittany.
Upon his return, Petroc passed through Devon, where ancient dedications to him are even more numerous: a probable seventeen (plus Timberscombe just over the border in Somerset), compared to Cornwall’s five. The position of churches bearing his name, nearly always near the coast, reminds us that in those days travelling was done mainly by sea. The North Devon towns of Petrockstow and Newton St Petroc are also named after Saint Petroc and the popularly-adopted unofficial flag of Devon is dedicated to him.
The legendary tales surrounding Petroc are exceptionally vivid and imaginative (giving him a second pilgrimage, travels to India, taming wolves) and may represent interpolation from pagan tales.
In iconography, Petroc is usually shown with a stag. His major shrine was always at St Petroc’s Church, Bodmin. In 1177, a Breton stole his relics from Bodmin and gave to the Abbey of St Meen. However, Henry II restored them and, though the relics were thrown out during the English Reformation, their beautiful ivory casket is still on public display in the church. With Saint Piran and Saint Michael, he is patron saint of Cornwall.

Good morning everybody, and Happy Caturday!
I would like to seek the input of the group I trust most, the Treehouse family.
I have a cat. C.J. is a black cat about 12 years old. I’ve always felt bad that she’s home alone for the majority of the time, so lately I’ve been thinking about getting her a brother or sister.
But I have two main questions. Is one litter box sufficient for two cats, or do I have to get another one? This is a concern for me, because I have discovered the greatness of the crystal litter system. The drawback to that is, it ain’t cheap. The equipment starts at about $150, and the cartridge refills run about $25/month (for one cat, doubled with 2 cats). But think of it! For that price, you will never clean another litter box, or handle used litter ever again. Once a month, you slide out the old cartridge and put the cover on it and toss it, then slide in a new cartridge. All done! For me, it’s totally worth it.
My other question is the main reason I have waited so long to get a companion for my beloved C.J. We live in a 600 foot one bedroom apartment. Is this enough room for two cats, especially after the new one is full-grown?
Licensed veterinary technician here, with disclaimer that I do not work as one anymore, but still have years of experience on animal behavior and client interaction/stories. I also am a dog owner only, so maybe some cat-folk can chime in 🙂
Bottom line is, it all depends on the cat. You never know till you try.
Re: litterbox- If the cat (old one or new one) starts going outside the box, then that’s usually a behavior problem (i.e. not liking sharing).
Re: space- companionship trumps close-quarters.
I could type more but I dont use a keyboard so I finger peck using my ipad.
Thanks for your thoughts. The one about the litter – I should have known. Cats are going to cat, and people are just spectators. About the space, your short answer spoke volumes and told me all I needed to know. Thanks for your insight.
Generally, to avoid behavioral problems you want a litter box per cat. Don’t know about the crystal litter. If the box stays clean all the time you may be able to avoid getting a second one. Generally, better to avoid problems from from starting than to deal with them afterwards.
We’ve been very fortunate with our latest batch. They are in and out but use the great outdoors as their litter box. And they are on a ranch so no anywhere near a road.
The litter box I have is automatic; it scoops itself after every use (probably one of the reasons it’s so expensive), so keeping it, er, “empty” isn’t going to be a problem.
I dunno, I might have to reevaluate my plan, maybe even abandon it.
Short answer = No.
Pro’s answer = 3 boxes for 2 cats (4 boxes for 3 cats, etc.)
Most practical answer = 2 boxes for 2 cats.
My wife and I have had multiple cats in the house since being married almost 50 yrs ago. I can only recall once having a single cat for a few months when a second cat died. But we were soon back up to 2 and then to 3.
Experience has taught us that unless you have unusually cooperative cats, they prefer to not have to step on or around another cat’s “deposits.” Unless you are able to monitor and scoop the pan after every visit, having 2 pans provides far less risk of a frustrated cat using the floor or carpet.
Exception: One very large pan MIGHT work….. IF you are willing to obtain a large plastic storage bin about 25L x 18W x 16H and carefully cut away an 8″ wide opening in one end (cut from top down, leaving the container intact about 6″ to 8″ from the bottom) to create a very large walk-in litter box. That *may* accommodate 2 cats with daily or twice-daily scooping. Hint – use an upside-down clean small litter pan as a step for the cats to get into and out of the box.
Below is sort of what I am describing – but do NOT put a lid on it (cats really hate that), don’t try to add a “door”, and don’t cut the opening so far down towards the bottom – doesn’t leave a deep enough “pan” to hold sufficient litter. I cut the opening hole right thru the top edge so cats don’t have to duck under the top edge.

Sorry – my two homemade large pans (set back-to-back) are not in a photogenic area so I could not post pix of mine. Each of my litter boxes holds about 40 lbs of regular litter. But I use Arm & Hammer’s Ultra lightweight clumping litter to reduce the weight.
GB, thanks for taking the time to respond. But I must be honest, your answer is a little discouraging. I’m not able to get another litter box of the kind I have now, and going back to clay litter and scooping is out of the question.
I have an automatic litter box that scoops itself after every use, so keeping it empty shouldn’t be a problem. But now I’m re-thinking my plan to adopt. This issue could be a deal-breaker. It’s because of this crystal litter system. It’s so great that it’s impossible to go back to the old ways. Unfortunately, as I mentioned in my original post, it’s not cheap. But I wasn’t exaggerating when I said that I never scoop litter again, or handle used litter. Others’ mileage may vary, but for me it’s totally worth it. I just don’t think I could handle double the expense right now, and I don’t want to short change any new addition to the family.
With all of the controversy lately about “Water” and what may or may not be in our drinking water, I noticed a blip in what I always believed was a pristine water supply.
The May Newsletter from my Water District, a “public/private partnership”, contained a notice that says they Failed a state requirement to test a “percentage of backflow prevention devices” and received ‘a violation’.
The district then inserted a blah, blah paragraph about the advisory is NOT about Covid 19.
They list diseases caused by cross-contamination of drinking water and advise people may want to drink bottled water and that they expect to have the problem corrected by the end of October, 2022.
This is posted in English and Spanish on the BACK page of the newsletter which contains only Board Member election results and conservation/charges info on the front
Good eyes and good thinking. That they failed to test a certain number of backflow preventers doesn’t necessarily indicate contamination.
But this is yet another point in a list of many points that justify every homeowner installing (or having installed) a multi-stage water filter device on the kitchen sink at the minimum, and a whole house filter if possible.
If you rent your home or apartment, or don’t want to fuss with a permanent installation, use a Berkey (or equivalent) water filter setup. My sister has used one for 30+ years and speaks very highly of them.

If your mobile phone is more than a few years old, you may need to upgrade your device before your mobile provider shuts down its 3G network, to avoid losing service. For more information on your mobile providers’ plans for 3G retirement and how you can prepare, contact your provider directly.
What is happening?Mobile carriers are shutting down their 3G networks, which rely on older technology, to make room for more advanced network services, including 5G. As a result, many older cell phones will be unable to make or receive calls and texts, including calls to 911, or use data services. This will affect 3G mobile phones and certain older 4G mobile phones that do not support Voice over LTE (VoLTE or HD Voice).
Learn more about other connected devices, such as medical devices and home security systems that may be impacted below.
When is it happening? As early as January 1, 2022, though plans and timing to phase out 3G services will vary by company and may change. Consult your mobile provider’s website for the most up-to-date information.
If your mobile carrier is not listed here, you may still be affected. Many carriers, such as Cricket, Boost, Straight Talk, and several Lifeline mobile service providers, utilize AT&T’s, Verizon’s, and T-Mobile’s networks.
Note: These are dates for completing the shutdowns. Carriers may begin retiring parts of their networks sooner.

Once again the Global ACE (Accumulated Cyclone Energy) is well below normal and the NW Pacific Baisin where Typhoons form is really below normal.
Though this year conditions are more conducive for African waves to come off the Continent, water temperatures along the MDR (Main Development Region) of the Atlantic are not favorable for development.
So once again this year close in development is likely to be the threat. And in 10-15 days extreme southern Texas should be on the lookout for close in TS development.
Meanwhile TS Alex failed to develop over the Gulf due to strong easterly sheer but now that it is east of Florida development is highly likely and it will most likely be a strong TS or even a CAT 1 hurricane when it passes north of Bermuda.
SW US is going to fry from S. California right into the west Texas next week. Could me near record heat in still air in S. California. Not a time to be visiting Death Valley I think.
While the SW US fries the East coast is going to get some hotter than average temps, while we in the Great Lakes region have cooler than average temps.
You up in the NW US will see average to slightly cooler than average temps during this time.
We be frying in Central Texas, too. Monday and Tuesday forecast is for 103 where I am and it is usually a few degrees cooler than New Braunfels and San Antonio.
My daughter has invited the Nipper and I to join her and the other grands at Schlitterbahn on Tuesday. We’ll have to go at opening time to get a shady spot.
