It looks like people are now able to create accounts from the web on Truth Social, though I’ve haven’t seen any official news that web access is out of beta testing .
I’ve tried to create an account from my desktop, but I haven’t been able to log in successfully as I get a message “Wrong username or password”. When trying to reset the password I don’t get any email response to my email account with a new password.

Glad you were able to get in. Do you know if you are required to give a phone # to create a Truth Social account from one’s PC? I know they ask for “date of birth” and “email address” but I didn’t know if the “phone # field” was required as well or if one can log in once their email has been verified (without having to give the phone #).
I couldn’t find any options not to give a phone#. So I gave it to them. They asked for that after the email verification.
When I try giving my cell number when creating the Truth Social account I get the error message… “Failed to send SMS message to your phone number.”
Texting works fine on my cell phone so I’m not sure what the problem is. I’m not very techy when it comes to these things though.

I’m basically creating an account so I can view other peoples posts (Trump, etc.) I’m not sure I’ll use it for anything else.
THe biggest problems with these new platforms is that they are inherently political. Back when I was on Facebook, most of what I used it for was for my hobbies, family and friends. Politics was just one small part of what I used it for.
I have no interest in having an account where I have to talk nothing but politics. It’s such a waste of time. I can get my news here at CTH. Somedays it takes perhaps 30-45 minutes of my day. The thought of engaging in Political chatter more than that is exhausting and contrary to my general desire to be happy. I do not have to read every FJB post. I get it.
Same here. I only comment on the CTH. I rarely used my twitter account as I could view the political tweets (mainly Trump) without logging in. However with Truth Social you have to log in to view anything.

I finally got my account created by going through the account creation process on the web on my Android phone where it would then take my phone number and send a code to my email. For some reason the phone number field on the PC wouldn’t work for me. But I can now log in through my PC as my account is already created. 🙂

I forget what they call it but I think it’s a thing where people follow each other just for the sake of building their follower counts. But often content isn’t being generated and there is no real interaction and it clutters ones main screen.

The lesson I’ve drawn from reporting on institutions that promote ideologies such as critical race theory and radical gender theory is that they have been captured at the structural level and can’t be reformed from within. Here in PA, we voted for Toomey when he identified as part of the Tea Party, challenging Specter and Bush. Nothing new about these divisions within the party or the dirty money and power that places them there. We only have one seat here in PA at best.

As far as voting integrity, nothing has been done to correct it. Even with a majority of state legislators, for years, we had the rinos who destroyed the voting system, abdicated their state constitutional duties to the judiciary and ignored the will of the people. Mastriano was a part of that. That’s the history, the pattern which IMO isn’t cynicism.
People are too focused on trying to overturn the 2020 election, it will never happen at this point. We need to let go of trying to get that out come and focus on ensuring voting integrity going forward.
We know the things they’ll try to do and can reasonably expand that for new tactics, those are the areas we need to focus on preventing. We also know the framework of legal arguments, so we need lawyers to file lawsuits based on what the judiciary said in 2020/2021.
We don’t have to forget what happened in 2020, but we need to do everything in our power to prevent it from happening again.
Also, we need to figure out a way to prevent these splinter strategies from working. It’s clear as day, but not to those who are as informer as those who read hear daily.

My initial morning thoughts on yesterday’s election is that I’m a bit concerned that voters are not as pissed off at Washington Establishment as I had hoped. There were some good wins, but there didn’t seem to be a compelling disgust for establishment candidates.
Having said that, possibly it was just the candidate not being a good MAGA candidate, but still. I think maybe they/we relied too much on Trumps endorsement to carry the day. If so, that is concerning because the candidates need to sell themselves and be a strong advocate of MAGA policies vs establishment. IMO, a Kari Lake type candidate would have run away with any of the elections. She is out very vocally advocating MAGA and what SHE will do as Governor. We need strong convicted candidates.
I hear that the Democrats are going to make the 2022 election about Trump and, of course, demonize him and his supporters. We need to make sure the issue is not Trump, but the country and their state. Our country is lost if we keep Democrats in office. Not because of them personally, but their support of left wing policies are killing us. They will vote lock step with Nancy Pelosi. We need to change the direction our country is going. And, it may already be too late.
Yup, tell everyone to enthusiastically vote for their choice in the primaries but we need 2020 turnout numbers in the mid-terms and everyone vote straight R, period.
Then we need to start working to find better candidates and primary challengers for 2024 starting on Nov 2, 2022.
Low turnout in primaries and off presidential elections are how these commies get into office. We need to work on our R, I, “conservative” friends and families to go vote in these off-cycle elections.

Seems as if once these guys in the mental health system threatening mayhem are reported to local law enforcement and the FBI, they are ‘meh’ and free to shoot people while innocent patriotic protesters are tracked and hauled into prison within hours.

I was a county sheriff, once upon a time. Most “mental health laws” are lame, crippled by the ACLU. Caused by inhumane conditions in most mental health institutions.
In the state where I served in LE, mental health issues fell into a hopper of “Danger to themselves or others, or unable to maintain their own basic human needs”.
If they were placed in “Emergency Protective Custody” they were taken to a “Crisis Center”. Once in the crisis center they had to be evaluated within 48 hours by two psychiatrists. Then, the had a hearing before a “mental health board”…a lawyer who was the “judge” and 3 community members. The patient was there, and one of the psychiatrists testified via speakerphone.
The mental health board (3 little old ladies in my jurisdiction) could decide on inpatient or outpatient treatment. Even in the most severe cases, I never saw anyone placed in inpatient care for more than a year. They’d participate in individual and group therapy sessions, take the meds prescribed, and “earn” release. Once released, they’d stop taking the meds and went back to full on batpoop crazy..rinse, repeat.
Our mental health care system for the seriously mentally ill is a joke. It’s never going to prevent even 1% of crimes by the seriously mentally ill.

It’s important to recognize that psychs actually do not have many (if any) “treatments” for “mental illness” (itself very dubiously defined.) The public needs to get this. Most of the “science” of diagnostics and treatment is completely bogus. The DSM panel periodically gets together and votes on an ever-increasing number of diagnostic categories which originally were for the purpose of insurance reimbursement codes and prescribing pharmaceuticals.
There is, in other words, no “treatment”. What there is, and this happens far more often than not, is a feeding frenzy by all kinds of private psych treatment centers that make a lot of money when people are Baker-Acted doing “evaluations”. This mostly entails a loss of liberty and rights of many harmless people.
The perp in this case was not non-functional in the sense of memory loss, confusion, not knowing where he was, unable to communicate, etc. As a former LEO you know that people cannot be locked up unless and until they have committed a crime.
Moreover, the perp was not suicidal. He planned this out in a way to best protect himself including selecting a gun-free venue at a busy time. If enough people carried, he would have been blown away within seconds of raising his firearm. Getting killed quickly by law-abiding others around is the only realistic deterrent for crap like this. Fox News Channel finished last week with a larger audience than MSNBC or CNN among both total and primetime viewers for the 65th straight week as “The Five” averaged 3.2 million viewers to finish as the most-watched show on cable news.
Fox News aired 98 of the top 100 cable news programs from May 9-15 to finish with an average audience of 1.5 million viewers to finish No. 1 among all basic cable offerings.
MSNBC averaged 621,000 and CNN settled for an average audience of 485,000 as Fox News crushed them combined.
