Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Leon, have you been sneaking up on Feral Cat again? 😂
Lol 😂 at least he got my best side! 😛
Good morning grandpa! First smile of the day for me belongs to you 😘
Good morning, Cat💓…well, since we can’t see your other side , we’ll take your word for it. Looks pretty good from here. 😊
Good Morning Betsy ❤️
Stepped on the truth machine this morning….130 lbs and beating my daughter’s weight loss 😝
Truth machine??😂 Must ask…who’s truth?? It could be mis or dis information😉
😂 the doctors mega scale!!! 😂
Oh…HIS truth then…ugh
My doctor’s scale weighs 8 # heavy. Heard one lady tell the nurse that if they didn’t change scales, she was changing doctors.
Good for her😂. See, Cat???? Doctor’s scales’ truth no good.
Good morning, G💓 Yes, she’s looking good…and she knows it!
Good morning Bet and Cat! I’ll take that first smile. ❤️😻
My first smile was waking up to a text from my daughter telling me our twin grandlads had arranged their work schedules so they could have an afternoon with us. So I’ll pick up, then it’s a couple of Father Browns with our boys. I wish their sister could join us but she’s getting ready for her honor roll ceremony this evening (I have no idea what that entails). She is one hard worker.
Betsy, you’ve got some real pedigree grandchildren. ❤️
Dote away!!!! To have grands thoughtful enough to think like they do, really makes me 😊 💕
They’ve been a real blessing, and we love them. Thanks, Cat💓
Enjoy the afternoon with the grands. I’ll be heading in a couple of hours to see some of mine.
🥰
I’m cheering Nipper on. Hugs for all the others (if they’re not performing .😘
I hope you got the essentials completed without any hassle (crossed fingers)
I think you’ll like this Leon:

✝️ DAILY DEVOTIONAL, May 16, 2022
Thanks DD! Wise words by Spurgeon. Great read before I go to sleep 😴.
Good morning, Dan. There is just something about Dr Spurgeon’s language which inspires joy. Which is no bad thing to start another week with.
One more . . .
Krauss has such a beautiful voice! My favorite song of hers is….”Let Me Touch You For Awhile”. Never gets old. 🙂
I think so too. 🙂 Watching her perform with Union Station was magic, one of the best performances I’ve ever seen. They make it all seem so effortless when it really isn’t at all . . . 🙂
Lucky you! I bet it was amazing. I’d love to see her w/ Union Station live. Such talent.
Gracious good morning to you, Garrison.💓 What a lovely selection for Monday!
I am wishing His peace for you and your bride. Blessings to you both.
Hi, Betsy! We’re having a decent morning, she’s resting comfortably and I’m about to run some errands. There are times when just doing mundane chores are life-affirming.
🥰
Oh such good news!! I AM glad😘🙏
I have always said to my own and now their children that routine is very comforting. At least it is for me. Calm waters. Yes sir, you are so right.
Good Morning Garrison!!!!
Wonderful selection today 🥰
Hiya, ‘Cat. Be well, darlin’ . . . 🙂
. .
Back at cha Garrison!!!!
🥰
Sweet on the ears….easy on the heart.
BTW, one more thing before I go night night. Great lunar eclipse tonight!
We had clouds, grrrr.
So did we. Worst luck.
Most times I’ve had clouds or only a partial or it happened too close to sunrise, or it was too cold, so tonight’s event was superb, happening around midnight with totally clear skies from start to finish … and it was warm out, making the viewing special with totality an amazing sight and the start and finishes being crystal clear with sharp definition.
Same here, perfect skies, low 80ies, mild breeze. My bride and I sat on our limestone porch ( call it the veranda) joined by our 2 dogs and 2 of the three cats and enjoyed the eclipse. Praise God for the glorious sight!
Although I would not have minded a good heavy rain.

21 year old Mary Wells led the Billboard Pop chart with the Smokey Robinson written “My Guy”. The record was Wells’ 9th Top 40 entry and would prove to be her highest charting US single.
16 May 1965
The Beach Boys appear on The Ed Sullivan Show performing their latest hit, “Help Me Rhonda”. Although all of the group sang on the record, only Carl Wilson (guitar) and Brian Wilson (piano and organ) played instruments on it. The rest of the music was provided by The Wrecking Crew, a group of Los Angeles studio musicians who would be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.
16 May 1981
“Bette Davis Eyes” by Kim Carnes rocketed to the top spot on Billboard’s singles chart, where it would remain for six weeks. Carnes received a personal thank-you letter for the song from actress Bette Davis, saying that it had impressed her young grandson.
Love it! Hadn’t heard it (or even thought about it) in a long time. Thanks for reminding me!
She’s precocious.
NATIONAL BARBECUE DAY – MAY 16
In 1540, explorer Hernando De Soto document the Chickasaw tribe cooking a feast of pork over the barbacoa. At the time, the Chickasaw were spread throughout the southeastern portion of the U.S. It is uncertain whether the Chickasaw taught the this method of cooking to settlers or if settlers began mimicking the process.
Years later, early European settlers referenced barbeque as savage preparation of food. Many accused Native tribes of practicing cannibalism. Many settlers referred to Native tribes as barbaric because of they way they lived, hunted and survived. However, history now tells us Native tribes were highly advanced in day-to-day operations, including with preparation and preservation of food.
Today, American barbeque origins point to North Carolina as the oldest place barbeque is found.
Nothing like North Carolina BBQ, hands down. Interesting story.
I find the De Soto fact interesting. He had brought 13 pigs over to Florida the previous year. By the time he died, three years after bringing them, they had over 700.
(Well, that’s what this guy says.)
A History of Pigs in America – Food – The Austin Chronicle
So in less than one year, barbecue was applied to pigs.
The first in this hemisphere were brought by Columbus to Cuba in 1493. If pigs can swim ninety miles, the Floridians had more time to get the recipe right.
BTW, the spit roast was a medieval tradition. Roasting whole hogs over an open fire while turning them. Maybe that is why the barbacoa was thought barbaric? Had the Spanish moved on? They did spread their love for roasted suckling pigs to the new world. But a 4 week old pig doesn’t need such a huge fire.
And the term barbacoa has been traced to the Taino language in the Caribbean.
The term barbarian had a very different genesis. Greeks had a term for non-Greek speaking people based on the sounds. (lots of languages had similar terms). The Romans (who fit the Greek definition) changed the meaning to people who didn’t have Greek and Roman traditions. Born in mockery, it devolved long before the Spanish found barbarians in the New World cooking over open fire calling it barbacoa.

Good Morning magic! Thanks for mr bojangles by Sammy Davis. The song and this performer never gets tiresome. ❤️
Amen!!
Good one. Thanks for sharing! And good morning to all.
Good Morning Levi ❤️
Good morning FC! May your day be blessed with love and laughter!
Good morning, Levi💓 So good to see you settled in.
At this point in sunny NE Florida it is just afternoon, so a very good afternoon to you, Betsy. May it be wonderful for you and yours. Cheers!
Thank you so much… school run, 2 different schools…busy. I’ll take it, because our three nearest to us are going be the first to reach he age of responsibilities. The age of reason? Hopefully very soon though they are making good progress. Have to enjoy them while we can. Time goes too quickly. Cheers back, Levi😊
Good afternoon Levi!
When I see the word “equitable” being used, I immediately question who wrote this, when and has it been “translated”.
I know that “equitable” has been in the dictionary for a long time, but in my lifetime, was used primarily in financial context, until recently. With the birth of CRT we are being fed this word everywhere, including in our schools. So, when I see it, I question it. Not to mention, the core meaning of “moderate” is not “equitable”. We are being brainwashed into believing being “equitable” is our goal as a humane, democratic society.
Words are powerful. Language can change everything. We are so eaily influenced and parrot what they feed us. Even here, “jab” was widely used and we just recently accepted Kyiv without batting an eye. I have a recipe in my recipe box from 50 years ago “Chicken Kiev”. Have no need to make that change.
I hadn’t thought of this in a long time but decades ago we were bemoaning the appropriation of perfectly good words by those who corrupt them for their own purposes.
The specific one I’m thinking of and the only one all those years ago that was appropriated was “gay”.
So many songs used it in their lyrics. It was a happy word, an innocent word with one meaning. Now? One couldn’t write those lyrics anymore. And that is just the opposite of “gay”.
Sad…very sad.
You are spot on and as you state, it had such a joyful implication.
It did, oldschool. A pox on all their houses.
Mornin all.
Went to Walmart yesterday and got a bunch of stuff including bags of Miracle Grow potting soil, seed packets, and a soaker hose plus a lighter weight hose.
Sherry got in the garden when we got back. I now have all light weight hose for watering the garden. This will make it much easier for Sherry to water instead using my heavy contractor grade hose like she had to do last year.
Time to get cleaned up to go in and do the Skokie run. See You all on the flip side.
Good Morning Rah! I’m loving all your useful postings ❤️
Calm seas and prosperous voyage, rah🙏
Always lifts my spirits. I could kiss the person that captured this video.
Me too leave 😊 their enthusiasm is infectious 🥰
Have a blessed day!
I have see that one so many times. I have always, always loved it. Brothers in Christ.🙏💓
It is one of my favorites when I need an uplift.
Uplift is the word, Leave…

The Habit of Recognizing God’s Provision
…you may be partakers of the divine nature… —2 Peter 1:4
We are made “partakers of the divine nature,” receiving and sharing God’s own nature through His promises. Then we have to work that divine nature into our human nature by developing godly habits. The first habit to develop is the habit of recognizing God’s provision for us. We say, however, “Oh, I can’t afford it.” One of the worst lies is wrapped up in that statement. We talk as if our heavenly Father has cut us off without a penny! We think it is a sign of true humility to say at the end of the day, “Well, I just barely got by today, but it was a severe struggle.” And yet all of Almighty God is ours in the Lord Jesus! And He will reach to the last grain of sand and the remotest star to bless us if we will only obey Him. Does it really matter that our circumstances are difficult? Why shouldn’t they be! If we give way to self-pity and indulge in the luxury of misery, we remove God’s riches from our lives and hinder others from entering into His provision. No sin is worse than the sin of self-pity, because it removes God from the throne of our lives, replacing Him with our own self-interests. It causes us to open our mouths only to complain, and we simply become spiritual sponges— always absorbing, never giving, and never being satisfied. And there is nothing lovely or generous about our lives.
Before God becomes satisfied with us, He will take everything of our so-called wealth, until we learn that He is our Source; as the psalmist said, “All my springs are in You” (Psalm 87:7). If the majesty, grace, and power of God are not being exhibited in us, God holds us responsible. “God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you…may have an abundance…” (2 Corinthians 9:8)— then learn to lavish the grace of God on others, generously giving of yourself. Be marked and identified with God’s nature, and His blessing will flow through you all the time.
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
Both nations and individuals have tried Christianity and abandoned it, because it has been found too difficult; but no man has ever gone through the crisis of deliberately making Jesus Lord and found Him to be a failure.
“Although the threads of my life have often seem knotted, I know, by faith, that on the other side of the embroidery there is a crown.”
~~Corrie ten Boom~~
May God provide His Blessings to one and all here in the branches, and to all whom you love.🙏
Another good one Cat! Water that’s not flowing becomes stinky. So do we if we try to hog God’s grace instead of letting it flow freely through us.
A second good morning Cat, said the first one up thread to you and Betsy. After I get going this morning it will be a nonstop day. Taking mom to the bank to notarize some papers, then heading to Austin to get them certified by the State, then finding a way to send them to the old country.
After that will drive back home (about 55 miles), get my mom and my bride and drive to New Braunfels to attend a concert with Violet’s brother in it. Then go back to their house and give Violet her shot (my daughter is gone for several days and SIL is afraid of needles 😂), and then finally drive another 55 miles back home.
If I get delayed in Austin I may have to meet everyone at the concert.
Right now trying to decide since I’m driving to Sodom should I bring 1 gun or 2.
❤️
Whoa!! A full day indeed, G. The first part not so great but finishing in the most wonderful way. Sodom is right…take 2.
If you need extra ammo, my son lives not too far out of Austin. Let me know💓😉
If you see this before the concert, tell Nipper to Break a Leg!!😘
We are going to see Nipper’s cousin, Violet’s brother. Such a busy week, hope to see the Nipper on the weekend.
But got done with the first part wih time to spare for a little rest before the next 11-0120 miles round trip.
Grandpa, I’ve been holding on to this for I don’t know why. Perhaps nipper might enjoy learning more? I know I’m not m but……

Here’s some lore I was brushing up on. Perhaps it might interest nipper. ❤️ 🤷♀️

Thanks Cat, I’m sure that he’ll enjoy learning new words. You may not be M but you done real good. 😻
Sometimes, when we sing hymns at church, I’ll try and sing with an Aussie accent. It reminds me of M.
BTW, my late morning run to Austin went really smooth. Drove in, parked at the visitors parking garage at the State Capitol for free. Walked to the Secretary of State office. The two ladies there were cranking the special stamps like nothing. Five minutes later I was done and got the hell out of Sodom.
❤️
Ahhhhhh…the greeting is the same. My heart is with you,G. I remember how taking care of my mother’s house and affairs 6 hours away involved multiple trips in the heat of summer. We were shattered. But a trip back to the old country along with the chasing around for the paperwork before you go? God will be wth you and your mother on that journey. Of this I have no doubts. Enjoy that concert🤗
It was great Bet! They are 4th graders and sang 3 songs “Splish, splash I was taking a bath” from the 50s, ‘HELP” from the 60S, and I forgot the one from the 70ies. Then got back to their house, I stuck Violet with her shot. This time she said she didn’t feel anything, and mom and I drove home. One long but very productive day. I’m enjoying my bed now. :-).
(Smiling broadly) with you in spirit and memories. I’m sure you and the Mrs enjoyed the performance tremendously.
If the teacher who taught them these routines was anywhere near as good as the one our three here had at that age, I bet all were blown away. Precious, precious memories for later when they are big and you wonder if they were ever that small. Bet you videoed it😉💖.
And bless Violet’s heart. I guess she is used to them by now. You need to hire yourself out as an expert to show how to do it.
So glad your trip to Sodom was a doddle. Now if only the DMVs could take a few lessons, it would be a better world, don’t you think? Sounds as if your guardian angel (or your step dad’s spirit) was with you, holding the doors open. At any rate jobs done and joys experienced. Quite the day. I bet you and your mother are shattered.😘
I did take some video and pictures. Violet is a trooper and she knows God very closely. Also saw their oldest brother and his wife at the house. They’ve been living there temporarily, their house will be ready June 10 and I am very honored that they want me to bless their new home.
God is so good!

Good Morning Dora 🙋♀️
You sure know how to pick em ❤️ wonderful Monday starter. 😘
How can one listen to this beautiful song (I’ve always loved it), one of praise to God above and his creations, and reconcile his sudden switch to Islam? Unfathomable for me.
Very true and understandable, Betsy. I used to be in the same mindset.
Now, I take what I need and disregard the rest. The world is too mucked up for me to think otherwise, imo, of course 😘
You’ve quoted a line from The Boxer, Simon and Garfunkle, my favourite. Poignant. And heartbreaking really.
Pew pew! ☺️
😁
Growing up in England we sang this in infant school at the start of each day.
Lived in Wales for two glorious decades, maggie. Just on the other side from Chester. I remember this song was a favourite of schoolchildren at one time. The way things have gone there, I sadly doubt it would be tolerated now.
His converting to the Religion of Hate lost us a lot of good music.
Yusuf Islam/Cat Stevens recounts how he converted to Islam and became a victim (robertspencer.org)
I’m with you Jim – Christians play this song in churches.
Something happened on Maria Bartiromo’s show this morning on Fox Business. She was discussing Musk’s twitter deal with someone and brought up Devin Nunes’ comment that 90% of twitter users could be bots and not real. The word fraud was mentioned at which time a commercial was aired. A lot of commercials in fact. When she came back on it was like nothing had happened, and she began discussing a new topic.
They’re trying to squash her and Tucker – the last of the truth-seekers on Fox. SAD.
🤔 why does this make me think of the legend of John Henry? Winning!!!!! 😝
I like Maria, but we cut cord…so no more Maria.
Interesting, Kitty. Well noticed. There were, no doubt, some panicked producers behind the scenes. Who do you trust.anymore in the media? No one.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

1 Corinthians 3:16 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered!!!

Mornin’ comrade infidels.
Wonderful. Six months spent by the odious Dems find something, anything, to disparage President Trump, and this is what they paid millions to come up with?
In soccer parlance, this is called an own goal. And a mighty big, game changing one at that.
Mornin’ Treepers
Glory to God for all things
Good morning, Lonestar💓 Thank you for that wonderful tip about the scones available at British Emporium! Next time we are headed in that direction, be assured we will make a bee line for them🤗 Can’t wait!
Afternoon LS!
A PSA FOR ALL HERE WHO MIGHT SHOP AT WALMART!!!
My daughter received a text from someone who experienced this at a WalMart here in the DFW/Fort Worth area.
She was approached by a woman who asked for money. When the textee told her she had none, the other woman said that she would come with her to the checkout so she could get some.
This scam has apparently been going on throughout our local WalMart stores, as well as wallets and handbags being lifted from shopping carts.
LADIES! SECURE YOUR PURSES AND WALLETS when shopping anywhere, but particularly if you shop at WalMart. In these economically upended times, be aware of who is around you or who might be following you for that opportune moment to do their worst. It takes only a second.
Thanks Betsy 😘
I’ve often seen an open purse sitting in a car or cart. 🤦♀️
I use the child restraint to lock my purse into the cart then put my wallet on my person just in the event my purse does actually get ‘ripped off’ the cart. or I put my valuables in my trunk and only take the one credit or debit card into the store, in my pocket – reduce opportunities and attention
Afternoon parichute💖
As for the trunk…we’ve always told our grandlads do NOT leave valuables where people can see them. Over and over we have said this.
But one day they met their dad for lunch in the smack middle of our very busy small town, parking lot right on the main. road. The boys were in an old Jeep liberty. This day, though, they were transferring their Xboxes and other stuff but didn’t cover them. When they came out of the barbeque joint the back window was smashed to smithereens but their possessions were still there. The reckon whoever it was was probably scared off. Lesson learned. Won’t happen again. Thieves here are getting bolder.
Hello B! Unfortunately I’ve seen that happen too many times. Glass is glass. I used to carry a big ‘ol bag around filled with all sorts. Then I whittled down to a cross body I could keep close, now I’m down to a wallet-like thing that can hold my keys, my phone and my card of choice (plus a bandaid, tissue and disposable mask (just in case). If I am out on a walk, I forgo everything but the keys, phone add carry pepper spray. I NEVER think ‘it can’t happen here in my small, quiet town’; everybody says that and it sounds naïve. I work hard to not live in fear, but alternately, I do what I can to be as cautious as possible when venturing out these days. And to think, we came ‘this close’ to driving into DC for the Jan 6 rally. That angel again…. (hugs and praying hands, the ones where we clasp our fingers together). Parichute
I believe being aware of one’s surroundings, analyzing the risks if there are any ( and these days there are always risks), and as you have done for your area, carrying just the essentials plus your pepper spray is just being smart. It’s a sickening tragedy that this is what it has come to. My daughter carries an across the body bag now when she shops.
Your guardian angel was keeping close watch on you and your husband. Whoever thought we’d actually have political prisoners here. Not just one either, but then we’ve morphed into a Communist country on that point and one to rival Cuba etc. We have become strangers in a strange land.
God bless, parichute. Keep those eye open. (both thumbs up!!)
sideways from these notes. – do NOT use your key fob to lock your car on the way to go shopping (or whatever). Thieves have devices, get your code and unlock your car. unlocking is great – you get in and drive away.
I manually lock the car.
But then, from my early days in Detroit – I NEVER walk up to a door I need to unlock without having my key in hand – quick entry or self defense..
Thank you for that advice. Something I had not considered nor knew even existed. I always have my key in my hand when I’m approaching my car, so that, I do. Excellent.
Here’s a story for you, Cat.
A few weeks ago I was shopping in my small neighbourhood WM, which had at the time few shoppers in it. I got to the till and…no purse. Wallet, phone, keys gone. As I am friendly with all who work there they immediately went to their surveillance video to see what they could see. One of the lovely ladies said to me it might help to retrace my steps, and I thought “for what?”
Nevertheless, just to keep myself from panicking even more, I did just that. In the first aisle by the deli section sat the cart I’d come in with, with my purse staring at me. PHEW!!! Obviously when I’d stopped to pick something up, I’d turned and grabbed an empty cart which was sitting next to mine and continued shopping. This is what happens when one is in a world of her own, as I obviously was.
I had spent probably another 20-30 minutes from my first aisle stop getting other things. So it had sat there undisturbed for all that time. Needless to say (but I’m saying it) I am on ultra alert now.
There are times in our lives when we feel our guardian angel might have stepped out for a smoke. This day I know mine was on duty. Deo gratias.
Wow that’s scary Betsy!!! Thank goodness your guardian angel was on duty, indeed ❤️
Did not tell my husband btw…and I tell him everything.
Your secret’s safe with us.
All 10,000+ of us….😉

😎
Hello Ladies (and gents). I’ve done similar where I walk away with someone else’s cart while they have mine – look down and don’t recognize the foodstuffs in the cart and retrace steps. I’ve definitely got an on-duty guardian angel. Interesting tidbit…I went to a Reiki session once where I was told my guardian angel’s name is Crianne. My Reiki lady is very spiritual. (hearts and angels)
My guardian angel has narcolepsy.
Boogy,
You have a great wit and sense of humor !
😂😂😂😂😂!!!!
If keep the food away he’ll stay awake. 🙂
I went to the grocery store, early one morning, after going to the gym. Grabbed a shopping cart & noticed another cart had something in it. It was a wallet, I checked the contents – money, credit cards, driver’s license. Went to the office, the guy working there was very nonchalant about it.
I stated, that I will handle this & get the wallet to the owner, stat.
Found the gentleman’s landline number, called him & said I’d be over shortly. Well this gentleman, an elderly retiree, went into the store for a few things, on his way home from the hospital -where he got his
pace maker adjusted ! He wanted to give me a reward, which I refused.
Big smile on both our faces–he called me his guardian angel !
Made me feel good, and so glad I could help.
You were that, DG. In human form.
DG, the same thing happened last week to my 40 yo daughter. She dropped her wallet at HEB and didn’t even noticed it. Later, a lady showed up at her door and delivered the wallet.
There really are some very good people in this world, G.
🙂
I was approached by a “homeless” man asking for money. When I replied I didn’t carry money (I don’t) he pulled out his smart phone to show me how I can give him money through an app. Blew me away!
I usually carry “care packets” to hand out which includes among other things a pair of new tube sox, band aids, toothbrush, small water bottle, granola bar, tissues, pencil/paper, etc. packed in a gallon baggie but I was out. This is a new thing for me as I fluctuate on what I want to do for our street people…from working the shelters to just looking the other way.
Friends and family are divided on “my kind of help” but don’t mind handing over that stash of condiments, sugar packets, leftover plastic utensils, hotel shampoos, etc. laying around. It’s cheap and easy to gather stuff up in a gallon zip lock, toss in scripture or a hand written note and contact info for available help. I usually keep 3 or 4 bags in the car.
I’m not going to make a difference to most but to someone I might. And my heart feels better so I guess there is that.
One thing I learned to do, living in the city, that has become my normal practice. I have a bunch of “bait money” in my pocket.. bunch of ones and a fiver or two. This way, should I need to (and haven’t so far), I can throw it so it flies loose for the bad one to chase it instead of me. Sure you all do this already 😊
Now that’s some cheek!! An app?!?
My youngest used to make up care packages as well. Where she was there were so many who benefited from them. You’ll make a difference to one…at a time.
I’ve often posted my starfish story about a little boy tossing the beached starfishes back into the ocean and being mocked by a passing man, who reminded him there were thousands in such a state, and told him he couldn’t possible make a difference. Wherein the little boy tells him, after throwing another back into the sea, that he has made a difference to that one.
We must do our best in the place God has planted us. But you know that.
It is a business to these panhandlers. They probably make more money than we do. I ignore them
She never gave money. If they refused her care packages, she knew what she was dealing with.
Mornin’ Betsy
Left you message about scones yesterday on another thread. There is a boutique in Northlake that provides all the fixins for afternoon tea. Their scones are sold at the British Emporium in Grapevine.
Blessings
I saw and answered, Lonestar💓. I have answered you below with another hearty thanks😘 You really are a treasure!
Say it Loud
Say it PROUD
Dzien Dobry (good morning)
Good morning, ms idaho💓
I second that!!!! Gooood morning ms Idaho and doc! 😘
Warm wishes gratefully accepted
Blue skies and warmer temps help too
Have a great day treepers
You and doc okay? My cat intuition is picking up something in the universe. First thought was, of you 😘
Mine as well….🙏
ps to my post
I think I did warn you that I could disappear. Maybe for a short while – maybe permanent.
I likely won’t be able to even say goodbye – or be back soon
As you know, there’s only one source for that magic crystal ball on the future.
Meanwhile – I’ll do the best I can with what I’ve got
Thanks, I don’t remember seeing that post. Just in case, I’d like to say that I enjoy EVERYTHING you post and share. I’ll treasure these “conversations” always, my friend ❤️ and the stories about lucky and bunny will never be forgotten. 🥰 ❤️
You did. I am remembering it now, as well your explaining about your eyes.
I always think of you as one of the most resilient people on this thread… you and Cat. Whether I’m right or not, after reading your life’s stories, I believe you’ve had one of the most interesting lives I have ever seen. I have developed tremendous admiration for you, ms idaho. You need to know that. And I do pray that some way will be made for you and Doc to enjoy each other for many more years to come. 🙏Bet
you guys have extraordinary radar – a disturbance in the force…
Doc is suffering from ‘dementia’, I call it short term memory loss. Overall function and long term memory are ok. Luckily I took him to a clinic this AM that gave him their magic elixir IV – that will help his brain. Recent blood tests show a need for certain nutrients – and he’s getting those.
I, on the other hand, am in trouble.
I’ll give you as short a version as I can.
In the mid 1980s when Doc took me on as a patient he identified petrochemical (things like plastic and car exhaust) as being a big problem. Formaldehyde scared him because he could not reverse my reaction to the test.
For many of the following years we were able to avoid exposure – the motor home years were really the best – as were the various wonderful places we lived away from cities.
About 5 yrs ago, after becoming land lubbers again, we took on the job of house sitting for an over the road trucker – he was gone a week or so at a time, and got divorced .
I think that house tried to kill us. It is in the reputed most toxic part of Idaho. Built on an old land fill. Lots of farming and chemicals. Well water very suspicious.
Doc has had a series of small strokes and got a heart valve problem. My gift was a blood bleed dead center on my ‘good’ eye. That was 2019. Late in 2018 I began making bad data entry mistakes – you don’t know what you don’t see.
I turned my business (NutritionPureAndSimple) back to the company that makes everything I sold (Time Labs).
Monthly shots have given me my vision back. Mostly
Here’s the rest of the story.
The injections (Lucentis) are gene therapy (yup, same kinds of side effects). Plus to get the shots you get chemicals. For imaging, dilating chemicals. A side effect is cataract. Surgery replacement gives me 2 acryllic lenses (about 1 ” from the brain.)
Not supposed to affect me, don’t ‘cha know?
So, on the plus side, 2 miracles gave me my sight back.
Not so good – I am hyper reacting to not only what is happening to my eyes, but air, water, food, car fumes – things that didn’t used to be a problem are now a problem.
We have been associated with the clinic I mentioned since we got to the area in the late 1990s. We have been trying a series of treatments that should help quiet down my hyper reactivity. Problem is, what we are trying causes more trouble. I have not recovered from the last one on Thursday It’s hard to do anything when all you can do is sleep (try to escape the headache). I can’t eat – feel nauseus – well, suffice to say nothing we have tried so far has help the original suite of problems.
I did find a web post that defines the head noise problem as so many neurons in the brain firing off that they make noise which the ears can hear. Sometimes it sounds like a million bees buzzing. Sometimes like a kid banging on a pan bottom. I suspect that a diagnosis of tinnitis is a mis diagnosis. This is noise in the head, not in the ears.
They describe it as part of the fight or flight primitave brain response – adrenals and all systems operating on super high. Solution – remove the source of stress. If it is emotional, drugs help, meditation, change environment.
My possible solutions? Remove cataract replacement lenses (no subs) and stop Lucentis shots. Yeah, right. So, the hunt for a solution – find a way to quell the over reaction.
My problem is that it is not limited to the noise in my head. The suite includes muffled hearing, stuffy nose (can’t breathe) eyes are puffy – bags above and below. Lots of tension in the scalp.
I can’t find a trigger, but when the head noise quiets down so do the other symptoms.
The problem began within months of the cataract surgery. That December I enrolled us in PT. Folks keep telling me you can’t flunk PT – but I did. There were other ‘side effect’ problems too.
February 2020 we moved into a Senior apartment complex. Still were fighting bad air and water – plus what the complex cooked for us.
April 1 we moved out of that unit into Peak Extended Stay. A motel room by any other name.
Fun story. When we first moved to town in the late 1990s we stayed here because our house was not ready. How’s that for coming full circle?
We have an exercise room, a pool, and everything we need is handy. Wit both moves we paired down our possessions. So no lawn to mow, no garden to weed, no house to clean, easy meals to prepare or eat out. Minimum life burden for both of us.
Not a lifestyle for everyone, but it’s where we have been led.
I didn’t tell you this hoping for sympathy or solutions. I know we are never given problems but we are given solutions – the wherewithall to deal with our burdens.
I know all the praying treepers pray for Gods grace and blessing.
Funny that you picked up my distress. I really don’t want to burden you. Most folks here have their own burdens.
Love you all

If nothing else it helped me convince others (doctors) that the problem really is in all my head
Ms Idaho ❤️
I’ll have to read this “report” again to properly unpack. Betsy will probably do it the best.
No sympathy, only empathy from me, can’t give a solution as I, too, had someone with some of the same and looked all over for a solution to ease some of it. None was available by the “qualified drs”. Funny, your explanation of the head pain sounds better than anything I researched when he was alive. You’re a very smart lady, ms lucky ☺️
If I lived closer, I don’t 😢, my shoulder would be there for you and a big hug would surround you and doc ❤️
Promise, you’ll try to reach out to us(me) any time, you’ve got friends who love you dearly. I think I know how private these circumstances are. However, everybody needs somebody. Let us be your somebody. Love you ❤️ 🥰
No, Cat…I couldn’t do any better than that. You’ve said what I’ve thought. Bless…🙏💓
Wow. Maybe this would have helped us thirty years ago. Hope someone now can understand what’s going on in their head, if not help them in this current time. Nice research ms Idaho 😘
You have again hit the nail on the head – maybe this mis adventure is so we can help others.
After I found this info last fall it led me to some nutritional help. I know not many use nutrients like we do (ha ha) – so this is on top of what we have done for years.
First was info on PRE biotics. To go along with PRO biotics. If you give the GUT the ‘right stuff’ for the critters to proliferate they produce what are known as short chain fatty acids. Who knew they are as important as the medium chain (monolaurin) and long chain (fish oil). Makes sense, tho, God doesn’t create stuff you don’t need.
That elaborated on the gut – brain connection identified several years ago having to do with Parkinson’s
Then I got into GABA. That also affects the CNS (and helps stroke recovery)
Next was l-Tryptophan. It works with niacin (and other nutrients) to create NAD+. These fairly recent studies discuss DNA repair. Believe me when I say we have read tons of research on supplements. NEVER have I seen the words DNA repair. It had to do with glaucoma, dry macular (no medical treatment available) and wet (shots – which is symptom suppression. )
In the studies on NAD+ they blinded mice, treated them and they could see again. Of course, what they can see is a question. It also seems a little helps a lot, too much reverses the effect.
So, from a mouse to a human, how much is right?
Sigh
I have good links if anyone wants to read. It’s more technical than I can repeat, but the gist is those 3 opened new doors.
Perhaps you can shed some light on my stumbling last year. Last June, I gave him some selinum, it’s just organic mustard seed, so what harm could it do. 🤷♀️
Perhaps it was just a fluke, but within 15 minutes, I had my guy back, walking and talking and remembering and communicating like his old self. It lasted 11 months before his body quit. Not saying it could or would help anyone, I don’t give false hope. Just reporting my own observations on my own situation. Perhaps some of what you have shared would have helped too. Sad how some doctors practice now, isn’t it?
Its hard to know why some things help. Lots of people have that kind of response to coconut oil – we add monolaurin.
I posted this elsewhere today
https://jjconsulting.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/a_Minimum.pdf
The caveat is, no matter how hard you try, you cannot get the nourishment you need daily from our terrible Western Diet.
And, if you elect to use supplements, get a good quality, broad spectrum multi (Doc formulated Ultra Vites) and Essential Fatty Acids (also Ultra Omega Linic). ps – essential means you body must have ’em and you can’t get them from any other food you eat.
In general it is more of a hazard than a benefit to take something like Vit D, or calcium, or whatever popular flavor of the month is. You need all of them, in a good form, daily.
Sorry for preaching – we have fought this war with doctors from day 1.
Doctors are into the 1 medicine for one problem – nutrients are not like that.
Also, it is hard to find a good doctor – but especially hard to find one that will support your quest.
My recommendation is to check out Naturopathic doctors and chiropractors. Everybody has a web site these days – look for ones who talk about nutrition.
There are some super specialists – Environmental Medicine (but they seem to be retiring).
The clinic I mentioned has some Very Interesting stuff on light therapy. Before discounting remember God created light….
You might see if you can find a clinic like this

Since nobody has that magic crystal ball on the future, we can only ensure we do the very best we can every day
I have not been able to properly express my sorrow over the loss of your husband. Hits too close to home – and yet?…
If preaching is telling it like it is…..you bring it eloquently, ms Idaho. I love all you speak about.
As far as little old me, it’s understood what your above words mean. I love you for it 🥰
Funny, I just heard this song recently. Imo, words to live by 😘
yeah – and this line from the lyrics says it all
If you’re gonna love somebody, hold ’em as long and as strong and as close as you can
Til you can’t
There’s another song with that same message haunting my brain – dad too busy to do stuff with son – then grown son too busy to spend time with dad… Croche?
yup: Harry Chapin – Cat’s In The Cradle Lyrics | AZLyrics.com
I’ve been trying to look a couple weeks back on your postings, it was a tune/song you posted. Gonna try to find it as it gave me a. I’ve memory now. You do make a difference everywhere you go ms Idaho ❤️
ms idaho, you’ve confirmed our feelings something is very much amiss. I am, and I know Cat will be, devastated for you and Doc. Age does not come on its own ever but these physical issues which you have been enduring for a long time seem to be more than anyone should bear. I am dreadfully sorry. I shall keep you both in my truly heartfelt prayers, knowing you both are in His presence at all times. You are among friends here, and I do so hope there may be some comfort in knowing that. God bless you both.🙏 Bet
Don’t be devastated. We are coping. Maybe not well…
How do I elaborate – I’m not looking for sympathy. I am in the camp that believes God never gives us more than we can bear. Plus, you don’t have to say it, I know about you and your prayers 🙂
Plus, it keeps me searching.
Remember the Christmas story about the twins – one an optimist and one a pessimist. Pessimist got a room full of toys and could only cry.
Optimist got a room full of horse manure. Optimist twin, laughing and flinging poop all over the place said – there has to be a pony in here somewhere.
I’m gonna keep on looking for the good stuff.
Not only do I have to find stuff on my own, I also have t find folks more knowledgeable than I to interpret what I find.
I’ve lost a few of my marbles along the way, too. sad to say.
Lol 😂 I never heard that story from you!!!! Must’ve been away. Love it and love you 😘
Wish I could post the meme I saw…
An honest to goodness picture of two little children standing on those winners boxes after a race. First place child was holding a sign with #1 on it which had dropped by his side. He had no expression on him as he was staring at the child on the podium next to him in amazement.
And there was that child with pure joy and happiness on his little face, hands up as high as they would go, clutching his card with #3 on it, pushing it forward for all the world to see…and smiling so hard, mouth open, overjoyed.
Underneath it was the big truth…
“Happiness is a state of mind.”
You are no quitter. This I know. And I sincerely hope that you find what you’re looking for. I know the state of medicine. Not as my father practiced it. Cures don’t even get a look in, if ever they did. And while I suspect a cure is not what you’re after, I also suspect that there are some things that would make your and Doc’s life a lot better. We are each allotted a certain number of days. I am hoping yours and his are nowhere done and that through your diligent research, you’ll discover what will make them better. Praying for that day when you post “eureka!” B
Absolutely beautifully said Betsy!!!! 😘
Absolutely beautiful you and doc are, ms Idaho!!!!😘
O Heavenly King, the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, Who art everywhere present and fillest all things; Treasury of Blessings, and Giver of Life – come and abide in us, and cleanse us from every impurity, and save our souls, O Good One.

Simply beautiful. Amen and amen.

Since you treepers are the smartest bunch I know, is there something I can do to ward off the elder horndogs? You know, like a necklace of garlic? Thinking, I’ll be the new meat in town and want to be prepared 😉
your question leaves me speechless. elder horndogs? Where is Mungrel when you need him most?
😂 tried to find him elsewhere for a tip. Appears mentioning his name is blocked. 🤷♀️ that viagra seems to get them going…and going…and going…. it’s only been two weeks 🤪
warding off elder horndogs ideas, since you ask. 1. tell them you will be mourning for a year and to ask you next May. 2. look them in the eye and laugh. 3. avoid bars and other meat markets. 4. High heeled boots for stomping the persistant.
don’t know your age bracket but unattached elderly men a minority. ask yourself what you want. dinner? dancing? flirting? left alone. you have probably been off the market for years, are sick of tending to an elderly man and may want to kick up your paws.
I have been off the market 58 years but still get the leers and lip licking at me. Heaven forbid I am ever in your situation I would have no problem as I just give them a disgusted look even last week. They can’t help themselves but don’t have pity. hope this helps, sister. merrie
on the other hand those old Tom Cats do have the deep voices, are able to fix stuff and will sit on the porch swing with you discussing the fall of Rome and why Stihl chainsaws are better than Huskys. Some of them even have yachts, polo ponies and private jets. My old tom cat still looks like Peter O’Tool in the movies and would have to fight off the kittens if I weren’t here. so, don’t give all of them the evil eye as there are some wonderful guys out there. hoo, baby! oh, yes!
Gotcha merrie. Be selective. One treasure deserves another. But I’m not kissing a lot of 🐸. I’ve got a thing for the pedigree type 😝 😉 😛
😝 merrie, I love these!!!!
It does and it will!!!!! Unfortunately, grocery store up here fits into the meat market category, so a pair of pointed toed boots might be in order. You jumpstarted my brain!!!!
Big big big BIG HUG!!!!! Thanks sis 😘
FC, tell them to use that viagra so they can hit the toilette bowl.
😂 😂 along with floating battleships? 😂
I had a friend in Wales who saw this sign in the men’s loo…
“We aim to please. You aim, too, please.”
“In case of an atomic attack, stand behind this urinal. It hasn’t been hit yet.”
I had a retired guy helping me in the mid 2000s, a very funny guy. We all loved Bob and became good friends. He used to say he’d take a quarter of viagra just so that he didn’t piss on his cowboy boots. Passed way a few years ago from urinary bladder cancer. At least while he was still alive they named an elementary school in Houston after him.
Chapter 3. The Failure of New World Order Globalism in Promoting National Economic Growth and Shared Prosperity.
Excerpt from forthcoming GabbyPress book: Updating Schumpeter’s Gales of Creative Destruction: Exploiting the Vulnerability of New World Order Corporate Globalism With Regional Blockchain Entrepreneurial Economic Growth.
Harvard economist George Borjas estimated that open borders and global trade reduced the wages of American citizens by an estimated $118 billion a year. [Immigration Economics, Harvard University Press, 2014.].
At the same time that American workers are losing $118 billion a year, the open borders global economy generates a net increase in profit for U. S. global corporations of $128 billion a year.
The increased profits are counted as a surrogate for increased productivity, in the government reporting methodology, because the increased profits were gained by a decrease in labor cost inputs.
