My husband is watching, I’m not. I’m listening. I think Trump has made the wrong endorsement for the PA Senate. Dr. Oz is not in my opinion the man Trump is playing him up to be. I think Trump should have chosen Kathy Barnett. I laughed when some of the audience booed the mention of Dr. Oz.

Dr Oz has the name recognition and popularity to win for President Trump. The people you support are wonderful and very strong supporters of President Trump but most of the suburban voters especially women around Philadelphia and Pittsburgh don’t know who they are. On the other hand, Dr Oz is a TV personality that everyone knows. He’s pleasant, funny and comes across as a good doctor you can trust. I don’t think he’s going to betray President Trump when he wins. The fact that McConnell doesn’t want Oz is all I need to know.

In today’s world, knowing who is against a particular candidate is ultimate confirmation of their bona fides. Therefore, if McConnell opposes a candidate, the MAGA universe should very, very seriously consider voting for him.
In this controversy re Dr. Oz, one might be tempted to discount President Trump’s endorsement of him (I don’t!) because of their long-standing personal friendship. HOWEVER, YOU CANNOT DISCOUNT MCCONNELL’S OPPOSITION TO HIM, since the sleep-walking, amphibious McConnell only wakes up his inner turtle when it comes to a conservative (never a Democrat!) that threatens his gravy train.
And by the way, the McConnell Index has been, in my estimation, 100% accurate in predicting who the best MAGA candidate would be.

When Trump wasn’t on stage Oz was booed by the crowd, they were slightly more polite when Trump was around. Just a godawful endorsement by Trump. Voting for him is like voting for one of the crackpots from The View… Barnette is the obvious choice. I would reluctantly vote for Bartos, Sands or McCormick in November if they win this primary- but I will never cast a vote for Oz under any circumstances.

Remember when Trump didn’t endorse Roy Moore (and endorsed the other guy, I forget his name) and people like you were upset about it and did what you suggested. Moore was a disaster, and he lost the general because he was unable to stand up to the allegations against him. Had the people voted for the guy that Trump endorsed that seat (Sessions old seat) would have never turned blue and the Republicans would still have a 51-49 majority in the Senate. Have been giving Oz a lot of thought and can only conclude PDJT chose Dr. Oz over Kathy Barnette because the doctor can beat the Democrat candidate in the general election whereas the lesser known candidates would get drowned out by a monster called the democrat machine while Oz, someone PDJT has known for quite a while, has a chance given his name recognition in combination with Trump’s endorsement could very well be the key to putting the Republican into that PA Senate office.
This election cycle is going to be a bloodbath for the Democrats in PA. Fetterman is not popular and the millstone of Wolf is going to be insurmountable. Any live Republican will win the senate race. Did you notice last November that the Republicans swept EVERY statewide race in PA? And the environment this November is going to be much worse for Dems. So this is the year it is totally unnecessary to compromise in the primary and vote in someone unacceptable like Oz just because of name recognition.

As a Pennsylvania resident, I will vote for Kathy Barnette for this U.S. Senate seat — as she is an amazing woman, and the perfect choice.
I know that Dr. Oz has all the credentials: name recognition; President Trump’s endorsement; huge financial support — BUT — I don’t trust this guy. My belief is that he would be a clone of Mitt Romney. Oprah sure does like him.
Dr. Oz has positions which I do not agree with. He’s been a supporter of Red Flag laws; does not believe life begins at conception; etc. He is socially Liberal — anti-gun & pro-choice. If he’s been a resident of Pennsylvania, it’s news to me. Carpetbagger comes to mind.
I was disappointed that President Trump endorsed him, and perhaps because he believed that Dr. Oz had the best chance to defeat the Democrat opponent. I have no idea.
To date, this Senate seat has not been held by sterling people.
In my lifetime, there was Arlen Spector. Remember him? Spector loved the limelight (very vocal); perfectly fit the definition of a RINO; and during the impeachment of Bill Clinton — cast his vote according to Scottish Law.
Spector’s seat was then filled by Pat Toomey, who was pretty much invisible. Toomey’s positions ran counter to general
Conservative positions, and he voted to impeach President Trump. Toomey was as sleazy as one could get.
Geographically, both Spector & Toomey came from the same area — southeastern PA — which is a more Liberal & an economically higher region. It is actually a large suburb of Philadelphia.
So, with much hope & a pure conscience — my PA vote for this Senate seat is for Kathy Barnette.
The most likely Democrat candidate will be John Fetterman, who is a THUG in every sense of that word. Currently, John Fetterman is Governor Tom Wolf’s Lieutenant Governor. Pure thug.

I live in Chester Co. PA which seems to be turning blue due to dopey democrats fleeing Philadelphia and NJ. I favor Barnett also. As a ground report, there are a lot of OZ yard signs in many of the upscale neighborhoods here – and it has been speculated that President Trump is going with this guy because, as others pointed out, he polls well with suburban women (The ‘0prah vote’ as it’s called) and he probably does have the best chance of winning in the general election. Not saying I necessarily believe that, but that seems to be the Trump rational.
Central PA here, and I’ve always considered Chester County as being BLUE. Not turning there, but already there.

Chester County has great open areas & farmland, but it tends to votes BLUE because it is a ‘bedroom’ area for Philadelphia as well.
I’ve read that Melania loves him. Anyway, I’m wondering about center or right leaning Black voters. How are they feeling about OZ getting endorsed and not Barnette.

I MIGHT finally delete the message on my answering machine re the recorded voice of the 45th President, as well as his son, Donald Trump Jr. inviting me to go to Greensburg,PA for the rally. Have been there many times and was actually stunned by the Captain Obvious love for the Republican Party there. Giant Signs everywhere about this, that or another re Red.
My spidey hairs have gone up since then re Donald Trump Jr. If you have ever read ” The Trump Prophecies,” by Mark Taylor you would get my drift here. Young and fresh Trump blood might be the antidote. Excuse me for saying so, but the 45th President of the US has unfairly been loaded with a lot of baggage that will not be resolved in the courts before the 2024 election. The fix was in for Trump from day one. Makes me sick to my soul at what harm has been heaped on him.

Picture quality is poor but the doctor’s short speech may shed some light on your question.
I’m not a fan of Oz at all, but I’m also a realist. Pennsylvania is a slightly blue state where probably the best we can do is a RINO like Toomey.(or like a Susan Collins in Maine)
Cathy seems decent, but would likely get crushed. In a redder state, she would stand a great chance at winning.
The best candidate was the one Trump initially supported, Parnell. Unfortunately, when he dropped out, we were left with this crappy situation.
Perhaps Trump thinks Oz will be a loyal vote if he wins in 24, and help get his agenda done.
Will Oz be a disappointment? Entirely possible. Would he be worse than Toomey though, who constantly fought the MAGA agenda? That seems unlikely in my humble opinion.
You’d be surprised that Geraldo is another lifelong friend of Donald Trump and his act on Fox is just an act like Oz on GMA!
I do wish PDJT wouldn’t have hit McCormick as hard as he did. McCormick may well win this race in my state and it will put both of them in an uncomfortable spot if he does win.

In 2020 she ran for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 4th Congressional District losing to democrat Madeleine Dean at a margin of about 60 – 40.
Not much of a political track record there.
She likely has a bright future ahead of her.
Seems like a great person, but unfortunately not ready for prime time.
