Reading I

Peter proceeded to speak and said:
“You know what has happened all over Judea,
beginning in Galilee after the baptism
that John preached,
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth
with the Holy Spirit and power.
He went about doing good
and healing all those oppressed by the devil,
for God was with him.
We are witnesses of all that he did
both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem.
They put him to death by hanging him on a tree.
This man God raised on the third day and granted that he be visible,
not to all the people, but to us,
the witnesses chosen by God in advance,
who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.
He commissioned us to preach to the people
and testify that he is the one appointed by God
as judge of the living and the dead.
To him all the prophets bear witness,
that everyone who believes in him
will receive forgiveness of sins through his name.”

Responsorial Psalm

R  (24) This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.
or:
Alleluia.
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good,
for his mercy endures forever.
Let the house of Israel say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
R  This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.
or:
R  Alleluia.
“The right hand of the LORD has struck with power;
the right hand of the LORD is exalted.
I shall not die, but live,
and declare the works of the LORD.”
R  This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.
or:
R  Alleluia.
The stone which the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone.
By the LORD has this been done;
it is wonderful in our eyes.
R  This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.
or:
Alleluia.

I Cor 5:6b-8

Brothers and sisters:
Do you not know that a little yeast leavens all the dough?
Clear out the old yeast,
so that you may become a fresh batch of dough,
inasmuch as you are unleavened.
For our paschal lamb, Christ, has been sacrificed.
Therefore, let us celebrate the feast,
not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness,
but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Christ, our paschal lamb, has been sacrificed;
let us then feast with joy in the Lord.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Gospel

On the first day of the week,
Mary of Magdala came to the tomb early in the morning,
while it was still dark,
and saw the stone removed from the tomb.
So she ran and went to Simon Peter
and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and told them,
“They have taken the Lord from the tomb,
and we don’t know where they put him.”
So Peter and the other disciple went out and came to the tomb.
They both ran, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter
and arrived at the tomb first;
he bent down and saw the burial cloths there, but did not go in.
When Simon Peter arrived after him,
he went into the tomb and saw the burial cloths there,
and the cloth that had covered his head,
not with the burial cloths but rolled up in a separate place.
Then the other disciple also went in,
the one who had arrived at the tomb first,
and he saw and believed.
For they did not yet understand the Scripture
that he had to rise from the dead.

https://thefederalist.com/2022/04/15/jesus-christs-resurrection-is-probably-the-best-documented-historical-event-ever/

FTA “Christ is also the only person in history who was pre-announced starting a thousand years before he was born, with 18 different prophets from the Old Testament between the tenth and the fourth centuries BC predicting his coming birth, life, and death. Hundreds of years later, the details of Christ’s birth, life, betrayal, and manner of death validated those prophecies in surprisingly accurate and minute detail. One thousand years BC, David prophetically wrote about the crucifixion of Christ at a time crucifixion was unknown as a means of execution.

While there are skeptics of the biblical account of Jesus, there’s actually far more reliable historical evidence for his life, teachings, miracles, death, and resurrection than for any other historical figure of ancient times. Consider, for instance, that the authenticity of Alexander the Great, who was born some 350 years before Christ, is based on two original biographical accounts of his life by Arrian and Plutarch, which were written some 400 years after Alexander died.

It turns out that Easter, which has its ultimate meaning in the resurrection, is one of ancient history’s most carefully scrutinized and best-attested events. The resurrection is real, and changes everything. Easter is the commemoration and celebration of the single event that transformed the world forever.”

Amen! Not that there are any doubters here but just in case! He is risen!! Alleluia!!

Wowowowowowowow. With tears Amen. I think it was C.S. Lewis that sought out to prove that Jesus was a fraud but with all the historical evidence Lewis became a believer. Amen again.

In the Resurrection scene shown, please notice where our Risen Christ looks. He first looks to His Father!
Father Michael Gaitley, a Marian Priest of the Immaculate Conception, cites this in his latest book about God the Father.

Think about Mary Magdalene seeing and then realizing it was Jesus~alive! and talking with her at the empty tomb:

Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “I have seen the
Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her…John 20:18

This song, these two beautiful voices, convey the emotion of realizing that Jesus is alive!:

Calling our brother Paul: The resurrected Jesus appeared and spoke to women before men. Mary entered (in effect) the Holy of Holies when she went into Joseph of Arimathea’s tomb and was spoken to by the angels and then the risen Christ.

Reading this post and these comments has moved me to tears this am. Please allow me to share my personal experience with the Lord. Years ago my teenage son was out of control, full of rage, and using drugs. I tried every avenue as a father to help my son, without much help from his mother. We ended up taking him to a rehab hospital about 3 hrs away. We left him there. When I got home I was totally distraught and unglued. What had I done leaving my son in a place like that. I laid in bed and had a total emotional breakdown realizing that I had no control of anything in my life. I got on my knees and asked God to help me in anyway. A feeling came over me that I liken to being injected with valium before going into surgery. I laid back down on the bed with a peace and calm I had never known. I dug out a bible and opened it and looked at the middle of whatever page it was on. There was a verse aimed at my exact situation. I wish I could remember that chapter and verse. From that moment on, I have not been afraid of anything. The Lord is in charge of everything and guides me in everything I do.
Happy Easter everyone!

You are witnessing…and it is a glorious story… Sometimes the only thing we can do is turn our children over to God. I have done this with all of mine, but particularly my son whose story is similar to that of yours. He put himself in rehab. And God took over. Deo gratias.

Read the book “Blood Kin of Jesus”- James and the Lost Jewish Church, by Kenneth Hanson, PhD
It will straighten you out on Jesus, Peter, Paul, and Christianity. It doesn’t denounce the accepted belief system we have today; it focuses on the early days and activities that led to what we accept as Christianity today.
Excellent, well-sourced information.

Our Lord has risen.
I went to Autozone today to get an new headlight bulb. After paying the Autozone Guy said Happy Easter. I said happy Easter, He has risen. The other person working in Autozone said, He has risen indeed. It was beautiful.
Our Church’s fails us. At least mine does.
Every week after the Nicene Creed we pray for the needy, the sick, the poor, and world leaders.
We must add another, we must pray for the msm media calling out abc, nbc, cbs, msnbc to stop telling half truths and to start giving the full truth. the father of all lies is Satan he must be defeated.
Happy Easter Everybody
