Apparently, Pennsylvania politics is all about getting the suburban mom vote, or so the professionals in polling say. This endorsement seems puzzling, but perhaps the Pennsylvania Treepers can clear it up. Prior story on PA political happenings here.
I don’t want to dump on anyone, but Dr. Oz being endorsed by President Trump seems out of sync with the base. Ultimately, it’s up to Pennsylvania Republican voters, and maybe they like this guy as the most viable candidate. Voter registration ends May 2nd, and the Pennsylvania primary is May 17th {link} [General election Nov 8].

This Senate seat is currently held by Toomey, a retiring Republican.
If we don’t retain it, it flips to Democrat.
PA doesn’t have run off elections. Who ever gets the most votes on May 17 wins the primary.
That is why a strategic vote should be considered, as much as I hate to say it.
If I were to put my finger on it, Trumps loyalty belongs to the Republican party, not the American people.

I’ve read many of the accusations that cherry picked actions or comments of his to portray him as RINO, but he’s not. I don’t think he’s rigid MAGA, but pragmatically close enough. For instance, I;ve heard that he’s pro-abortion, based on comments he made that he thinks we need to make it easier for women considering abortion to carry their babies to term for adoption. Makes sense to me, rather that the insistence that there be no abortions, but with hardliners offering no suggestions on how to help those women carry those babies to term.

If the Oz/McCormick race (as the top two likely to win) didn’t muck it up strategically, I would vote for Barnette. I think they all probably have equal chances in the general election because of the mood of the state.
Oz and McCormick will likely both be bad for the state. McCormick will turn on us right away. Oz, will likely treat Trump right….and perhaps, can be persuaded later (post Trump) because he may be a little too woke, but at least he doesn’t hate us.

She has not clarified one single stand on any issue. The above video and everything she said could have been made for a leftist Democrat with only minor changes in the visuals. All vague or ignorant canned rhetoric. The only issue I could find was being against drilling for oil on public lands.

If that video is her best shot, what is special about her? What does she do for a living now? History in politics? Anything? or just a pleasant non-threatening personality?
I don’t care about Oz – in fact, I think this is a sign of bad judgment. On the flip side, what good came off having ‘conservatives’ in the Executive branch the last time around? Conservatives such as Mulvaney, Pence, Pompeo, .. or the generals – Kelly, McMaster, Mattis, or broadly in the R-party (Paul Ryan, anyone?).
Bottom line is that if Trump clones is the gold standard, we’re going to end up being very poor. How many self-made billionaires, after what happened to Trump, are waiting in line to go that route again? So, the best one can hope is to take a chance on some of the sincere-sounding folks, and hope for the best.
For the record, I don’t trust most of the people running for elections. Only thing that will matter are results and actions. Everything else is empty talk. Everyone sounds as ‘severely conservative’ as Romney once did.

This is right on target from a leadership perspective. The big problem is that the self proclaimed elitists, send their kids to different schoolrooms from K all the way through university grad/law schools.
Those kids get a different, better, and more comprehensive college/university education with curricula that are targeted to business/legal/political governance.
Comparatively, what I have noticed in the business/retail world is this:
Once a product is available at an affordable price to the average middle and lower middle class person, it is a decline of sorts even though it is much less expensive. Ladies hair salons, manicure and nail salons are a good example. The best salons are still too expensive for the masses. Ipod, Ipad and Iphones are my favorite example having been unaffordable at their roll out.
Transfer this idea to “higher education”. There are so many on line colleges, it is pathetic, prices pushed almost to unaffordable, but not quiet. And there are many “schools of nursing” that fall into that category (because of projected shortages of nurses)–they will admit anybody.
Today, due to the student loan racket, more people than ever before are being admitted to first, second, third, and un-tiered colleges and universities, whether they are capable or not.
Does anyone here think that Ivy League undergrad curricula is like all the rest?
One example of forward thinking at preferential universities: in the late 80’s early 90’s, the University of Chicago closed up shop for their nursing programs. Nursing has often been equated with lower class employees/participants. (Tell me again how ‘central long term planning does not exist?).
The schoolroom philosophy of the average child exposed to the satanists, will clamor and scream for whatever the politically social agenda of flavor of the future day is…in the unranked colleges, the extension of high school–with a different goal and curricula.
While schools and teachers clamor for LGBT etc and trans whatever…distracting from true education…
One prepares for ‘leaders’, the other prepares, beyond k-12, for malleable sheep.
We need a hidden and infiltrated population, who like back during the 1850’s–taught the illiterate slave and slave children, to read and write–to teach the concepts of Ivy League doctrine and education.

My native State is PA. I have always believed in doing the right and reasonable thing. I believe Dr. Oz is smart, very smart and able to connect with everyday people on issues.
We definitely need accomplished and disciplined legislators, not people seeking a 40+ year career in elected government. Oz will be one who doesn’t need the money. He’s already had more accolades and money than most of us.
If he is able to do the job of a Senator with a heart for this nation and our Constitution, then vote for him. We know what we get with leftist Dems. Do we need more of them?
One thing comes to mind, Back when Oz was ran through the ringer of congress over his endorsement of weight loss supplements. He got a taste of what big farma is really all about. Maybe he can do some good busting farma down to size.

Did you know that a number of his appointees were recommended by Condoleezza Rice? McMaster, Mattis, Kelly…others. He was not a swamp creature. He had to rely on the recommendations of others. Can you name a president who made perfect appointments? And was under fire from the time he announced his candidacy? How quickly we forget – continuous-cleaning minds? – if we ever knew at all.
Give it up. He was President and he could not have appointed more evil scumbag globalists if he tried. It sounds like your weak defense of an ongoing pattern or incompetence is to say he is so weak that he’s controlled by others.
Let me remind you that at the time of these appointments like Wray and Haspel it was near unanimous consternation from real conservatives. It wasn’t like he didn’t know, when we all knew.

Politics make lousy bedfellows. McCormick is the only other viable Republican candidate and he is totally unacceptable. Reading that endorsement it looks to me like Trump is pulling Dr. Oz toward America First as much as he is pulling America First toward Dr. Oz.
It looks to me like Trump is trying to play it safe with his endorsements in key areas knowing the win itself is of monumental importance and knowing that in this area of partisanship, a turncoat who votes with our side most of the time would actually be better than a Democrat rubber stamp who will vote to destroy the country all the time. The endorsement of Perdue seems better but similar.
I’m not into idol worship either, but President Trump is the leader, and he’s consistently walked toward the fire and fought the good fight. I don’t fault him for not defeating the swamp because he needed more help from us to do it, and not enough of us were understanding of the situation.
I’m not in either of those states, but if I was, I would vote for the Trump endorsed candidate even if I would ultimately prefer not to.
