Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has announced she is returning to the arena and will run for Alaska’s at large congressional district. Her Twitter announcement reads:
“Today I’m announcing my candidacy for the U.S. House seat representing Alaska. Public service is a calling, and I would be honored to represent the men and women of Alaska in Congress, just as Rep. Young did for 49 years.” ~ Sarah Palin (LINK)

Sarah Palin enters a crowded field of nearly 40 candidates to fill the seat held by Don Young, who died last month. Alaska’s special election’s primary is scheduled for June 11th. The top four candidates will advance to the general election on Aug. 16th.

Sarah Palin represents one the rare few candidates in modern political history that does not come from the system of multinational corporate control stables. This is good news. MAGA 2022 Alaska.
Many people inside the modern MAGA movement may not remember how effective Sarah Palin was in 2010, specifically in the primary races against establishment republican candidates. It was also Sarah Palin who helped launch the successful political careers of Nikki Haley (SC), Rand Paul (KY), Marco Rubio (FL), Rick Perry (TX), and many more.
The republican party poured money into Texas to support GOPe Kay Bailey Hutchinson against Rick Perry. Sarah Palin stepped into Texas and singlehandedly turned that race by strongly supporting Rick Perry against the GOPe machine.
Unfortunately, many of the politicians who would not exist without Palin, later turned against her and the Tea Party in order to embrace the corporate donor class. South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley was/is the most famous turncoat. Haley was about to lose in the Palmetto state contest until Palin arrived and took down the vicious media machine that was attacking.
It is good to see her back in the arena.
An endorsement by President Trump is a foregone conclusion.
.
STEP ONE – Win election in November 2022
STEP TWO – Speaker Sarah Palin in January 2023
Run, Sarah, Run!!!
Maybe I am just strange, but I love hearing her voice.
She used to stop by a few years ago.
If I had a Sarah ringtone it would say…
“I can see Russia from my house!”
That would drive libs crazy right now.
“I can see Russia from the gas pump! “
New sticker. Sarah Palin on gas pumps.
“Alaska can fix that!”
😎
Amen to that!
Nice!
“Alaska can fix that!”
bertdilbert wins the internet today.
Truly brilliant.
A terrific campaign slogan for her.
Well done!!
Thanks.
Alternately I have…
Alaska can fix America!
That would add about 2″ of chest girth for the average Alaskan. It adds to the importance of Alaskan oil to the USA and she will be representing Alaska in a national political body.
The nice part is either one gives Biden a slap without mentioning the name Biden
LOLOLOL! Love it!
And so darn true too!!!
In 2008 I voted FOR Sarah Palin.
Remember how she wanted to campaign in Wisconsin? But her sleazy running mate vetoed that and said it was pointless? Then that vermin who is currently roasting in satan’s abode threw her under the bus after the loss.
I didn’t quite know the stench of the uni-party then. But it piqued my interest.
Poor Sarah was made the scape goat.
Sarah will show them all how it’s done.
You can’t keep a good woman down.
I don’t recall her caving. I do recall her putting up with a bunch of crap from everyone, her family harassed, all of her children being called names of some sort or another, degrading remarks made about her daughters, her integrity questioned, her clothes were questioned as being too expensive, and heaven only remembers what else. RUN SARAH RUN!!! Put your Esther forward!
I never understood her reason for giving up her seat as Governor. The explanation remains confusing.
Nevertheless, she knows Alaskan politics; she can represent the state well. She’s not afraid of DC.
I’m behind her.
When Palin came back to Alaska following the ’08 campaign, the left began filing lawsuits & ethics complaints against her. The Governor’s office was bogged down with FOIA requests. The Executive Office was spending more time dealing frivolous complaints and an avalanche of paperwork than doing the job she was elected to do.
The goal was to bog down her administration with legal battles and paperwork, peg her as ethically challenged and bankrupt her family. The manufactured chaos would have continued if Palin had remained in office. She resigned so the state could move forward.
Sounds like they had a chance to practice on her before focusing their aggressions on Trump.
I think political leaders have to pay out of pocket for lawsuits that are directly aimed at them. The sleaze threw one lawsuit after another at her. They succeeded in tying up her time and money.
Sarah Palin never caved. she was a running mate and listened to the person on top of the ticket, that’s called respect.
I believe the poster was referring to her resigning her office as Governor when she returned to Alaska.
Pretty sure she explained that the Lying MSM and .gov hounds were making such a fiasco out of things that she felt it was in the interest of the AK. people that she step down and give them a breather fr/ the constant, over-the-top circus.
It’s not like she went back to AK. and everything returned to normal. These Lefty and RINO peeps and their MSM and activist Lefty attack dogs Do. Not. Stop. Even when the “threat” is removed.
“….she felt it was in the interest of the AK. people that she step down and give them a breather fr/ the constant, over-the-top circus.”
Exactly. It was made very clear to her the harassment would never stop ….and it hasn’t.
Especially disgusting that McCain publicly wondered if would have won without Sarah Palin, and even after that she stuck with him rather than JD Hayworth who was challenging him. Out of loyalty. Then the McCain vipers disinvited her from John McCain’s funeral.
McCain. If we knew then what we know now……..
We always knew
A leopard doesnt change its spots
SONGBIRD McCAIN in the VIETNAM WAR
Oh, we knew. One of my working buddies said McCain killed his brother on the Forrestal. McCain had a history of hot starts which would make the pilot behind him poop in his flight suit.
After the fire started, he jumped off the nose of his plane and went up to the Captains Mess for dessert while lowly sailors were dying while trying to put out the fire he caused.
(sons and grandsons of Admirals have special privileges)
Two sailors that survived the fire told my friend that the coverup was already under way.
You can also see Songbird along with Lindsey Graham in Ukraine – with Poroshenko!
I don’t think McCain would have gotten very many votes at all if not for Sarah Palin!
After Palin made her acceptance speech, McCain’s lackluster campaign took off. Then the campaign hobbled her. Then blamed her for their decisions. I guess Obama was supposed to win and she almost upset the applecart.
They did NOT intend to win in ‘O8. They were lying down for Obama. GOPe offered her the vp position and then trashed her non stop.😡
Trashed her non stop because she refused to lay down and loose. GOPe found out too late that she wasn’t going to be a team player for them. She wanted to be a team player for us.
I think they knew that about her and therefore got her on a ticket bound and determined to lose….to blame her
That’s an interesting thought that I had not considered.
Right. I worked on McCain’s campaign. He deliberately choked in the final few months b4 the election. I couldn’t understand why he appeared to be throwing the election in the 11th hour but he did.
It seemed to annoy McCain she was trying to win! The NWO torch was being passed from Bush to Obama. McCain laid down for that , SP would not.
McCain was like those phonies in the body bags in Ukraine.
But all of us Palin-ites remember, and we’ll never forget. She was the only reason I voted that year. I was never going to vote for that back-stabbing McCain. In June of 2009, she appeared in Auburn, NY, for Auburn’s Founder’s Day and Celebration. All the advertising about her appearance was local, but word of mouth brought THOUSANDS of people to see her. The town square was packed. She gave a great speech, short and funny. McCain never drew a crowd like that of ‘regular’ voters.
that’s beautiful!
I remember that day and I am not even from NY
Without Sarah Palin we wouldn’t have had President Trump !
Indeed. I was just about to say she was the 1st name GOP figure to endorse him.
Sarah is a hero. Good on her. And good on us. During the ’08 election her dad was asked what she was doing. His answer: She’s reloading. Go Sarah!!!
Yep! Older, wiser, battle-tested and still beautiful. The fighter is coming back.
Godspeed, Sarah.
MAGA!
Great!!!
I always thought she was “Hot” !
So, you’ve got a pulse.
😁
Sarah Palin took more incoming fire than any Republican before Donald Trump. Both were stabbed in the back by John McCain.
May she be our Phoenix that rises again.
I typed “Republican” but I meant “Patriot.”
Sounds like she is perfect!
Anyone the Deep State hates, I love!
Thank you. I’m not a republican or conservative any more too. Call me Patriot. We need a new political party. The American Party.
Go get ‘em Sarah!
Shes also not afraid of the corporate media complex and will not kow tow to them she likes a good dust up and smacks right back. She’s the female DJT in many respects.
Not to mention – she was never afraid of taking RINOs to task either.
F*** yeah!
SPEAKER PALIN!!!
She would be a *great* Speaker.
First thing I thought of
If she can make it through the gauntlet, absolutely.
Picture the State of the Union Address with DeSantis, Palin, and Trump center stage. I wonder if the news media would cover the speech?
This is just a thought but when I recall the pleasure that Dan Quayle was apparently taking in the Inauguration of Donald J. Trump in 2017, I wonder if he would be available to be Vice President for Donald J. Trump in 2024? If he could just be there as VP for Trump for one term. Let him enjoy himself as VP! (I think the Bushes just used him and abused him as they had other plans, mainly for Jeb)
and then Ron DeSantis stays as Florida governor until he runs as President himself
I would enjoy seeing Dan Quayle up there for the State of the Union as VP, with Sarah Palin as Speaker and Donald J. Trump giving the State of the Union.
nevermind what I said –
I just went on Wikipedia to refresh my memory on how old Dan Quayle is –
and this was on his Wikipedia page:
According to the book Peril, by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa, Quayle played a central role in advising Vice President Mike Pence to certify the 2020 United States presidential election as per the Senate rules.[62][63] Quayle attended President Joe Biden‘s inauguration on January 20, 2021.[6
Ooh, I like it!
No.
LOVE IT!
❤❤❤❤
God speed Sara, and absolutely Speaker PALIN.
Plain speakin’ Speaker Palin! 🙂
I know she visits here on occasion, hoping she steals that pic. Mama grizzly.
If Sarah does read here on occasion, just want to say GOOD for you that you are going into the “fray” of politics again. You might have been the first person who was so trashed by the MSM.
I imagine by now you know very WELL how to protect and defend yourself from all of the slings and arrows that will be coming your way.
Someone, somewhere in Alaska now, living on the dole of taxpayer dollars is very frightened and just sent out a courier to by a set of Depends for them. I love the thought of this.
I remember her commenting here – knocked my socks off!
I will be very happy to donate a few bucks to herself, without McCain in the picture.
This is excellent news.
She deserves a lot of credit. A lot of us who were uninvolved at the time let her down. I am one of those people who were young and dumb and didn’t have the right sources at the time. Second post today that I’ve had to say this, but we have to learn from our mistakes and never make them again.
Most of us have been there so no worries. We go forward from where we are. We need everyone that is so inclined to fight this fight…only way to win.
Thank you Sarah Palin. So many of us have loved you from the beginning. Thank you for putting yourself forward and fighting the good fight!
Respect to you🇺🇸
G-d Bless you and thank you Sundance for the Truth you bring here!
Hope Trump mentions this at his MI. Rally tomorrow.
It’s good news that’ll lift a lot of spirits.
Is it a rally or an”event”?
Rally.
Coverage starts at noon.
I wuz gonna try to get something done tomorrow . . .
Oh well!
MAGAAAA!!!!
Ugh. I’m an Alaskan and I still love Sarah Palin. I’m just worried about how many people are on the ballot and our new open primary/ranked voting system. Gives me a strange feeling.
Get busy telling the rest of them to get the hell of that ballot!
Are there any other “big names” in the field?
Last I read, we had over 30 names registered for the race. The big name on the Republican side is Nick Begich (another Alaskan political family). The rest of the Begich family was/is Democrat, but Nick Begich is supposed to be the black sheep and truly conservative. He was Don Young’s biggest competiton, before his death. Begich already has the endorsements from Republican groups around the state.
With that said, I think Palin is definitely the top choice now. It’s just wonky with the ranked choice. Also, we’re supposed to have our first statewide mail in primary *cringe*. Whoever controls Alaskan elections is just awful. I pray that Palin gets in. I trust her!
Ceak, glad to see another Alaskan here! There aren’t too many of us. See my comment at the bottom of the next page about the clusterfark of voting that faces us this summer and fall.
I’ve been supporting Nick Begich until Don Young suddenly passed and Sarah stepped forward. My concern now is whether the lies of the media have soured too many Alaskans toward her for her to win. Many conservatives here on the Kenai, which is very red, feel she has too much baggage now. Can she overcome that slant? If anyone can, it is she. But I fear she has more support outside our great state than within it. She has had very little public presence the last 8-10 years. I greatly look forward to her having more visibility and speaking out on the issues. These are totally unprecidented times and we desperately need serious leaders if we are to keep from losing this country we love. Sarah can certainly be that. I am proud to have voted for her as Governor and as VEEP.
I am not going to get my hopes up for that after hearing of some of the ranked choice voting shenanigans that happened in Maine since it was instated.
Cannot quite put a finger on why specifically, but it feels to me it would be easier to cheat with ranked choice voting.
It’s a numbers game. Someone from Maine explained it on another forum. I forget the details, but Democrats will vote for the splitter candidates so they end up ranked higher than the main opposition.
It’s a total scam meant entirely to dilute and destroy the rule of one citizen, one vote.
Designed to work against straightforward honest conservatives and benefit the devious and Machiavellian leftists. Just like how open primaries usually work against Republicans because Dems in deep red states will vote for the most RINO R to keep good conservatives out of the general.
That’s why you just need to get out there and register R. Voters.
They tried to implement that scheme in the Bay State. Read the fine print on the bill and it was pretty much giving the Secretary of State permission to count the votes however he wanted. Nope!
It’s a shame AK. adopted Ranked Choice.
That’s what ruined Maine, IMO.
Just do everything you can to make sure she wins it.
Maybe contact Scott Presler w/ tips on registering R voters.
It’s time we leaned on the splitter candidates and force ’em out before they spoil things.
Spoiler Candidates gotta get!
As the Dems say, Vote early — vote often!
Splitter or fragmented strategy 🤔
Ceak i am also from this great state ranked choice voting will not help us in this next election witch means we need to work even harder but work we will have a great weekend R.D.
Nothing good comes from an open primary.
I understand the good intent however the road to hell and all that.
If worse comes to worse, let her run as an independent. She was very well regarded as an honest mayor and governor; saw the removal of Republican and Democrat crooks.
Awesome candidate and incredible human being! Go, Sarah!!!!
Point guard needs the ball.
Mama grizzly was a MAGA predecessor. She understood early that the GOPe was a disaster and needed to be taken down. She almost accomplished the takeover of the GOP by We the People, but for the stumbling of candidates such as Christine O’Donnell in DE, Sharon Angle in NV, and Joe Miller in Alaska, to name the most prominent ones.
Those candidates were the ones the GOPe aided the Dems in taking down when they showed that a real message could appeal across the board, no matter the state. These candidates were not polished but they were leaders and they were endorsed by Palin. Palin and the Tea Party was a precursor to MAGA.
Just as with the Tea Party, the GOPe aided the Dems in taking down Trump in 2020. But just as MAGA was a resurgence of the Tea Party’s ethos, I see another resurgence on the horizon. It always starts in the mid-terms. The 2010 and 2014 midterm elections portended the eventual ascension of our champion Donald Trump. I believe the 2022 midterms will hopefully lead to a resurgence in 2024.
In 2024, we will need a leader who can adapt to everything that was thrown at Palin and Trump. Trump to me was the perfect candidate in 2016 after what happened to Palin. He used social media and was so strong in his message that the media could not stop him as they did Palin. But in 2020, Big tech proved to be his downfall. In 2024, we need someone who can overcome Big Tech and the media. That may be Trump, but we will see if he can get through all of these landmines they are laying in his path. It may be that Trump will set off all of them and take all their arrows to make way for the right candidate (DeSantis?).
All the best to Palin in this race. I hope the people of Alaska are resilient enough to withstand the all out assault that is coming against Palin by the media and Big Tech that’s coming.
If she can pull this off Trump/Palin 2024,
I rather Palin be selected as Speaker of the House under a Trump or DeSantis administration.
Well if we’re dreaming , why not.
Lol. My dream world also.
DeSantis will still be Gov. of FL. in ’24.
Indeed. FL needs him there.
That would be so great to see that fresh, cheerful and energetic gal who is up to the job!
What a disgrace we have now in Pelosi!
I can picture the splody heads a Trump/Palin ticket would bring, lol. Love it.
Not a bad idea!
Joe Miller didn’t stumble, he won.
Then the GOPe screwed him over.
The GOPe and Dems together took down these candidate who were not polished but were true in their desire to change Washington. IF those three had prevailed, the GOP would be a different party. The country could very well be different. I doubt Obama goes on to win a second term and perhaps Trump instead of deferring to Romney in 2012, would have run or perhaps Palin would have run in 2012 against Obama.
Sarahcuda! Get em girl! 👍🏼❤️👊🏻
so.. this ain’t the end…
Yes!
Love me some Sarah Palin!
This is a win for us “Good Guys”.
I met a woman in a California restaurant who looked just like Sara Palin. I asked her if she was Sara Palin? She said she had people come up to her all the time asking her if she was Sara Palin.
What was interesting, the women also lived in Wasila Alaska. She and Palin worked in the same office building at one time. Everyone in the building was always getting the two mixed-up.
Thank you, Stillwater!
I love that adaptation of the Serenity Prayer – very powerful!
Today I was doing a crossword puzzle (my Mom and I get a jumbo book at the Rite Aid and then work on puzzles back and forth until we do all of them) – today there was a clue regarding a Chuck Norris movie, “Invasion USA” and I saw that just after reading Sundance’s article about May 23rd –
just now looked up that movie with Chuck Norris, it was made in 1985 (looked it up using imdb.com)
there was also a movie by that name made in 1952 – these people are sitting in a bar watching the invasion of the United States by the USSR unfold in front of their eyes (I think on the tv – tv’s in bars were getting quite popular)
Will re-watch both versions of “Red Dawn” also – in the first version, we are invaded by the USSR with the help of Cuba – in the second version, amazingly, by little old North Korea – they originally wanted to make it with the PRC invading the US but that was nixed.
This is good news to read about Sarah – I sure wish Ronna would get off her butt!
We have a country to save and I am getting all these clueless text messages from the RNC/GOP.
Ronna needs to get off our necks.
Rona is a RINO!!!
Don’t need to worry about “Ronna”. There’s a vaccine for that!!
Good one!
I am always thanking Stillwater, too – but I meant to say here, thank you Sundance!
I’m glad to know more about her. I missed a lot of years knowing about politics because of all-consuming jobs.
Go, MAGA and Sarah Palin!
Oh ! Happy Day !!!
Fair Winds , Sarah 💐
I voted for her, not McCain. Wish I lived in her district so I could vote for her again.
Don’t let a little thing like residency stop you. Vote the Democrat Way: early and often! Need some stamps? 🙂
Hah, thank you for the laugh:) I did see a link was included for donations. Happy to do that unless it’s connected to WinRed.
It is and I just donated anyway.
Yes, exactly. I had to hold my nose and vote for McCain. In my mind, nearly every vote he got was because of the enthusiasm Sarah brought to the ticket.
Same. I put duct tape over Mc Cain’s name on my yard sign!
A LOT of people voted for Palin, not McCain.
I was one of ’em, too.
The RINOs were so f*cking stupid about her.
Probably half the Rs and ALL of the Ds- that showed up to vote for that ticket ONLY showed up cuz of Palin.
McCain was a nose-holder vote at best.
Democrats are not the only one who run flawed candidates.
Most Americans voted against the Magic Negro, not for McStain. Sarah was a bolt of lightning that brought people out to vote for HER. I’m glad she’s back. Sarah could be called a foremother of MAGA.
Mega Dittos!
I myself also voted Sarah Palin! 😉
Welcome Aboard!
I hope she wins! I can’t believe she’s going back into the lion’s den, brave woman, but we already knew that.
Take no prisoners, Ma’am.
SARAH!!!! I am so happy to hear you are running!
Oh the hours I spent phone banking in the Arlington VA HQ — the script said “McCain Palin” but I really only supported YOU!
Trump – Palin 2024!!! Or sooner!
Sarah Palin, the Classic MAGA Edition.
She was MAGA before MAGA.
MAGA Grizzly!
Make Alaska Grizzly Again
DemMSM knew Palin was loved up in AK by both Dem and Repub voters.
And the Dems were having a hard time that year w/ the battle between Obama and Hillary. They knew they were already losing Dem votersto the PUMA (Party Unity My Ass) group- most of whom were female Hillary supporters .
Palin steps off the plane fr/ AK. to give her 1st speech to the rest of America (who had never heard of her before) and ***knocked it out of the ballpark*** w/ that 1st intro speech.
By the next morning, the DemMSM had their talking points in order to take her down, and the RINO apologists were falling all over themselves to throw her under the bus.
Yes. She was the 1st “Trump”. And BOTH were loved by Dem voters til the Lying MSM got ahold of the narrative.
It wasn’t just Dems. It was also establishment GOP ….who trashed her, while giving Obama a pass. Everyone kept waiting for the famed Willy Brown, Swift boat , “Mighty Wurlitzer ” GOP operatives to go in attack mode and go after Obama. It never happened.
Sarah got the brick bats from both sides.
We love our Mama Bear. Go get ‘em Sarah.
Nikki Haley is supporting Nancy Mace in the SC 1st congressional district against Katie Arrington, who is supported by President Trump. Katie all the way!
Good luck Sarah!
Yes I naturally like her but now knowing what I know about mccain I’m a little concerned about her.
What in the World does Sara Palin have in common with John McCain?
Sounds like some folks are already playing the stain game.
Don’t be concerned. Sarah was MAGA before there was MAGA. McStain picked her because she was a woman from a backwater state, who he assumed would “stay in her place.” Big mistake. I’d rather see her in the Senate, but for now, MAGA Rep will do.
mcstain was dead n the water before choosing Sarah
she was lightning in a bottle
i got a kick out of “sarah palin’s alaska
Among other things, when she was our governor she got rid of the chef because she could cook for her own family. And she sold the Governor’s jet because it was cheaper to charter flights. She was really good for Alaska.
That is awesome!
Then she quit. I just think that was the wrong thing to do. Millions loved her and we would have supported her financially if need be for the law suits the left was putting together over nothing. Well over having the audacity to run and be popular and not a democrat
Looking back on that time makes me think the constant lawsuits was one of Lawfare’s first overt forays into openly harassing Democrat political rivals while that rival was holding active office.
Over the years they perfected that with what they did to President Trump hoping he would just go away.
Pretty sure Sarah Palin, and other MAGA candidates, especially PDJT learned from that experience, to stand fast. She was right, in that it took away time and focus from governing the State, and no one imagined this was a coordinated campaign. It was a first overt attempt to destroy a person’s political career.
So can imagine hearing a “you betcha!” on that and will be taking those hard learned lessons going forward.
Good points. I’ll keep reading the comments and might come to reevaluate my stance on Palin (I lost some respect for her for bei g a quiter).
If I remember correctly, she was having to deal with a lot of family issues, with her marriage and kids. And then, yes — the lawsuits that were meant to hurt her and the state of Alaska. I think she was wise to retreat, take care of business at home, and take a break from the spotlight. I’m sure the sabbatical has recharged her batteries and given her a new perspective. And her kids must be pretty much grown and established by now. Maybe she is reemerging for such a time as this…
Her youngest, Trig, who has Down Syndrome, is now 14. The other 4 are in their 2os and early 30s.
🇺🇸Mama Grizzly is BACK! 🇺🇸
Hallelujah!!!!🇺🇸
Thank you Sarah. You are badly needed. Clarion call.
Good move Palin
After her acceptance speech, the pollsters could not measure the bounce she gave to McCain. Enthusiasm for her and the party-ticket took a 7-10 point lead over Obama. She handed McCain a victory …from which he seized failure.
His dismal, buffonish, effete debates with Obama GAVE the Office to the DEMS. From the moment they recognized how important Palin was…every snake-in-the-grass, Democrat AND Republican, ‘assassinated’ her.
Of course he seized failure.
Now we know (thank you sundance!) that McCain pre-bought his ticket to failure. He had to destroy Sarah in the process, because that was the program, and she was upsetting the applecart.
Upsetting that cart is something both she and PDJT are talented for!
Well… He (McCain) was a democrat in disguise as a conservative so…..
McCain was no more and no less qualified as Biden.
Beginning with David Axelrod. After that, Steve Schmidt finished the job.
A breath of fresh air that will surely shake things up in the House … and freak out the Bronx bimbo.
Step TWO!!!!! I want a front row seat!!!
GO SARAH GO!!!!
OFFS!
Brava! She will get a contribution from me first thing in the morning.
Wonderful News!!! Yes on Step Two!
When my husband and I voted in that election, we were voting for Sarah Palin and not for John McCain!
o yeah! Sarah to the rescue.
I love Sarah! She’s real and will kick ass when it has to be kicked. If there ever was a time for that, it. is. now.
I’m hearing heaven singing Halleluia!
I never got over her stepping down from the governorship…
Not good
Some ‘splainin’ needs to happen. Now.
WHY Palin “bailed” ISN’T due to her being a quitter.
Alaska’s constitution is set up so that elected officials basically
can’t defend themselves against baseless charges. Palin was
upper middle class at best. Not Trump level wealthy.
The amount of Lawfare that suddenly was being leveled at her
was astounding. Would have sent her and her family into bankruptcy
once the dust was settled and all the legal fees were paid off.
The timing of all the lawsuits was wayyyy interesting, also.
Basically didn’t happen until McCain picked her as his vice presidential
candidate. Would not be surprised in the least if his slimey hands were
involved, but I’ll give hellboy the benefit of the doubt on this one.
There were a number of lefties that went flat insane filing lawsuit after
lawsuit, after lawsuit. But only after her hat had been thrown into the
vice presidential ring.
What is everybody’s absolute worst fear? Having a gun pulled on you?
Being assaulted? Bad, but YTG doesn’t think that’s the worst.
Had a mild case of this threat decades ago. Scare me bad enough that I
backed away from public involvement while my kids were small.
How about the threat of groups of lawyers piling onto you, suing you
into submission? Or ( my case) being in front of one, CONNECTED lawyer,
surrounded by 5 others in a public meeting. And being the only person,
in opposition to what they were doing, to have shown up yet.
And, having the connected one name you, and ask you where you worked?
And, knowing that if you were dumb enough to answer, you would not be
working there ( or anywhere else) for a long time?
I think my blood quit flowing briefly on that day. It was that intimidating.
Her case was probably exponentially worse. Quitting had nothing to do with.
Family finances, perhaps family safety? Another matter entirely.
You got off easy.
Good points to consider.
Ok, take those points and ask yourself if her going to congress would be any different. If she could not stand firm against a flurry of attacks as a governor, what makes you think that she will or can do so as a congressswoman?
Honestly I don’t care so much about that, it was her coming down here to AZ to rescue McCain’s senate career that burned me. Whether she was unable to recognize who and what he was by then, or if she did know what he was and did what she did anyway, either makes her unreliable as a political representative.
Dusagree. I think that she is someone that learns from her mistakes. I also go by her track
record as governor, before she got hung out to dry. I can’t even use a full hand worth of fingers
to county politicians that actually do helpful, meaningful things to improve the lives of
people that they are supposedly representing. Palin is among that short list. The late Paul
Coverdell from Georgia was another.
Learning from mistakes is important. Yet after McCain backstabbed her after his failed run, trashed her (and all conservatives) up and down, renegged yet again on every single promise he ever made during election time, she still traveled thousands of miles to tell us all how great, wonderful and important he was. (upending an up till that time aggressive alternative to McCain) To be followed again by McCain trashing her and all conservatives and renegging yet again on all his campaign promises.
Palin does not strike me as someone who learns from their mistakes. She seems more like ground hog day.
“Just as Rep. Young did for 49 YEARS”
I think we need to make sure no one serves for 49 YEARS!
Agreed 100%.
Great news! I voted for her, not the underhanded McCain. Pro-life, pro energy, pro America. We need her voice.
I spent months trying to talk Joe Miller into running again and it was a No Go. He lost millions in a rigged election, he was setup by the FBI and the death threats against his wife and kids were over the top. This is one tough guy, smart as hell and made for the job, but in the end it was all too much for him and his family. If you’re gonna run as a MAGA, you better have your shittogether and people you can trust watching your back, cause this ain’t the 80’s, the 90’s or Y2K. It’s a whole new ballgame out there and if they don’t like you someone close to you can wind up dead.
Is it possible to donate to her campaign without having to go through WinRed? Asking for a friend.
She definitely sticks out in the crowd as far as a candidate I could be excited about. But there still is a very HUGE problem – a rigged election system. How will anyone ever know who really won any race unless that is remedied? Youngkin was SELECTED. Voter turn out DID NOT overcome cheating. It was a trick and an appeasement.
I’m interested in what you say about the Youngkin election. Can you explain further what you mean by “selected?”
Research Youngkin’s ties to Dominion. You might start with the Carlyle Group.
The uniparty (establishment/deep state Democrats and Republicans) decide among them who will take the position such as the governorship. In every case whoever they have selected will serve their nefarious purposes. So no matter what happens regarding voter turn out, it doesn’t truly factor in. McCauliffe and Youngkin are both their puppets. They wanted Youngkin in there to make Republicans think they could outvote their cheating – and many believe that’s what happened. The whole talk of a “red wave” stems from that very race.
Wow. What you say sure rings true.
