Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Decisions, decisions…where do I start knocking these off the shelves? So little time, so much to do 😜
Snuck round back😜 cousin “copperhead” next door, like cousin copperhead Mungrel call him “roadie” 😒 says cat name “bong” 😀 he say bong crazy and lazy 😊 !
Good morning, Cat💓. I see from the above, someone’s not been short of a meal or two.
Good Morning Betsy! That’s my cousin. There’s always one in the family. She has a job as a food taster though 😛
Ha! I bet the wages are good…for her, that is.
I suppose every litter has one 😜 !
Stonno Lazy one, owner overfed munchies, no killer camo, rats and mice having party that shop !
Good morning, dear Mungrel💓
Good afternoon, Betsy, Cat, and Mungrel! Busy all morning with the Home Health, helped my bride with some gardening. After I stick stepdad with his insulin will head to San Antonio to spend the night. I have the same procedure from last week scheduled for the other leg.
Will try and check in later.
Blessing!
There you are! So happy to see you💓
I figured you were busy with all the healthcare needs and recuperation. And I do hope you all are back to maintenance mode rather than emergency.
Rain forecast for tonight here but the wind is ferocious. It has two more days left to get it out of its system. Then out like a lamb into April…which I can hardly believe is here. Didn’t we just finish Christmas?? Blessings, G. We’ll catch you later. BetNM
Betsy, looks like we’ll have to place stepdad on hospice. Part of his problem is severe anxiety when mommy is not there. So we just have to take it a day at a time. God does not give us anything more than we can handle.
I know, G, that is a monumentally stressful decision for you all. But for him, my heart breaks. Anxiety is a dreadful thing to endure. I’m sure there must be some meds that would help I’d hope his doctor would aid in this.
And you are right about God giving no more than we can handle. Your faith is strong. I’m just so sorry for the situation you all are facing. I have heard and read many stories from people who have said hospice professionals are very kind. I’ll pray that whoever comes to his and your mother’s home will be filled with compassion as well as expertise. My thoughts are truly with you, G…and of course prayers as you enter this phase of care.💓🙏
🙂🙏
Grandpa 😊 thanks for checking in. I’ll be thinking of you all. Here’s hoping everything stays well down in Texas ❤️
Hi Cat, I’m having a quiet night for a change. tomorrow I get home after my thingy (God willing) and the craziness continues. 😍
Cheers pop, good to hear your stepdad is ok, and your leg ?
Not to serious I hope.
I’ll be hanging around for a while as I decided not to work for a couple of days as the job I just finished made me feel like I was 102 yrs old !
I’ll check in later ☺
Son, I hope I don’t get placed in the bin for this, but my leg is doing great. The paperwork said expect lots of bruising, I haven’t had any. Tomorrow I’m doing my other leg. I don’t have any plans to get any laser burns on my third leg, though.
Cheers. 🤣
😂😂 Good O’l pop, now I know your ok, your sense of humour being the giveaway !
Protect that third arm at all costs 😝 !
Howdy Betsy, I’ve been busy of late and wanted to post a few things but haven’t had the chance.
Hope your all good and your family mob are as well.
Found another kennel, really old in the middle of nowhere, going to meet the owner today.
My Karen has shut her gob after realizing I was correct, they never apologise though !
Not to be rude but I think you mob should look at the above picture again.
The cat is in a “bong shop” or “head shop” or ” marijuana paraphernalia” shop !!!
I don’t know what their called there !
😜
Cheers.
Hey Mr M!! Did she indeed! Her mouth led and her thoughts followed? The usual MO to one like that. Let us know how your look see on a new abode turns out.
All well here. One daughter’s petroleum engineering husband has just had a huge promotion which might mean a move from where they are so well settled to Houston…ugh…though they’d live out in a surrounding area. Plans still in the works for that one. And my oldest has been head hunted and is going through the wretched interview process now with two companies…one of which she is really keen on. So I am deep in prayer that she’ll be successful. I’ll let you know. She gives her all wherever she’s been and has an exceptional resume.
Other than that no drama from this end. For the moment anyway.
There’s a good thread going on Biden’s child grooming policy. Have a look. Very distressing. We’re in the gutter with no signs of escape for the kids.
I’ll love ya and leave you for the nonce. Take care, my friend, and do let us know what you decide on your digs.😘🙏
NATIONAL VIETNAM WAR VETERANS DAY – 29 MARCH
National Vietnam War Veterans Day on March 29 honors the men and women who served and sacrificed during the longest conflict in United States history.
On March 29, 1973, combat and combat support units withdrew from South Vietnam. Generations later, Veterans of this time period are gaining the respect that was not so freely given upon their return. Involving five U.S. presidents, crossing nearly two decades and 500,000 U.S.military personnel, it left an indelible mark on the American psyche.
Returning veterans did not always receive respectful welcomes upon their arrival on American soil. Over 58,000 killed, never to return. The observance recognizes the military service of these men and women who answered the call to serve their country when she needed them. They didn’t make the decision to go to war.
U.S. Sens. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., and Joe Donnelly, D-Ind., introduced legislation in 2017 to honor Vietnam Veterans with a day. They chose the anniversary of the withdrawal of military units from South Vietnam. President Donald Trump signed the National Vietnam War Veterans Day Act on March 28, 2017, calling for U.S. flags to be flown on March 29 for those who served.
🙂
All gave some, some gave all.
God bless all of who served and returned, God rest the souls of those whose names are enshrined on the beautiful, simple memorial dedicated to them in Washington. 🙏
For those who were lost, we pray.
If you have never been to the Memorial, be aware that whether you ‘know’ someone who died or not, the feeling of loss is overwhelming and can bring a cold ‘mans’ heart to tears.
Good morning, parichute💓
When I first saw the plans for the memorial, I was not impressed. When it was erected with the thousands of names, and when I saw families searching for that one name which meant so much, I could have wept. It is in fact perfectly designed in its simplicity. And it is not the design which is important or seen. It is the names. Every time I see it now, I am overcome with waves of emotion for what was sacrificed and lost..
The man who works in my neighbourhood Wal-Mart meat department…a bull of a guy, ex policeman with whom I’ve become friends..was telling me the other day his dad volunteered for a mission. He was due to go home but stepped up, and he was killed. Mike (my friend) was 7, middle of three brothers. He said he well remembers the military condolence officers ringing their doorbell. I’m certain those men who were assigned that duty for the thousands and thousands lost were affected as well…more than we ever think of.
Today, and truthfully every day, is one for reflection. God bless every single person who lived it or was lost.
Count Basie was often played by the “oldies” when I was a pup, first introduction to that style after Glen Miller hearing, I still like even though my tastes linger elsewhere, reminding me of departed relatives when I listened brings me back to them.
🙂
Garrison, i remember his “New Testament “ band in the 60’s and 70’s. His music takes me back to memories of the Johnny Carson show at night, the parents dancing together at club dinners, the family still together and God openly in our lives. Good times.
I’m old enough to remember Jack Paar . . . sigh.
Lil D — love hearing the big bad baritone in the background. I think every HS jazz band in existence plays LD. It’s hard to screw it up. Corner Pocket–that hard drivin Basie sound–love it
Thanks GH
Me too. I always think what makes Little Darlin’ is the subtle guitar cord. A HS friend was a very good trumpet player at about 15-16 or so. One summer he was invited to tour with the Glenn Miller big band. He had a real adventure playing with real professional musicians. They ended their tour with him playing lead in a free concert in our city park.

2001 Ranger. A few dents, 165k miles, a few squeaks, uses no oil, air blows cold . . . usually. My wife is an oil-patch girl. This was her truck. 🙂
1992 GMC Sonoma 205K, Dents from a couple of deer love taps in front. It’s got good brakes & manual 5-speed and the wipers work, a/c blows cold if I would fix the blower controls on the dash that blower motor failure melted. Power windows work. Uses some oil and coolant via external leakage but I can still drive it anywhere confidently.
1998 Ram 2500, barely 140K. I got it from my MIL after FIL died. He put 65K on it in 19 years. The 2500 is my heavy vehicle whenever an open bed and/or a load 1000 pounds. I recently hauled a pallet of pavers home at 3000 pounds. It does not ride smooth until I get 1000 pounds on it. Before that, 2000 Dakota traded at 250K and 1990 Dakota traded at 230K, both were the strong V8’s.
Good morning, Garrison💓 I bet you keep that truck in peak condition. Blessings to you both.B
I spent some money on it last summer so, yes, it’s in very good shape. Blessings to you too, Betsy. 🙂
🤗
62 Chevrolet C 20 six banger 4 speed pretty wore out but still going. 🙂
My wife’s first truck was a ’65 C10—white over blue 6cyl w/ 4 speed. Great old truck. With that “granny” 1st gear, it made a great tow-truck.

Connie Francis enjoys her first chart success as “Who’s Sorry Now?” reached Billboard’s #4 spot. Over the next ten years she will place 55 more songs on the Billboard hit parade.
29 March 1973
Dr. Hook And The Medicine Show got their picture on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine after their hit, “The Cover of Rolling Stone” reached number 6 on the US singles chart. According to members of the group, they really did buy five copies for their mothers, just like the song said.
❤️
Don’t Bogard that joint . . . 🙂
Rebel53blog Ray Sawyer is from my part of the south! oh the memories!
ONE MORE
For some reason Connie Franconero came to our summer camp in ’58 to sing “Who’s Sorry Now?” None of us kids really knew who she was but little WP got an autograph.
Wait a minute! I knew this didn’t feel right.
It wasn’t “Who’s Sorry Now?” in 1958.
it was “Freddy”- three years earlier!
She was an unknown passing through trying to gain traction by singing and giving away publicity pictures. That’s why nobody knew her. It was 1955.
That’s was fun!!!! If I ever meet someone named Freddy, I’ll be tempted to call his name out exactly like Connie did. 😂
This record went nowhere so I hope you have more success with it than she did 😄
While not the same genre, long ago our East Texas town had a subscription concert series, and one of the evenings was given to a little know (then) group called Empire Brass, the leader of which was a very young man, a trumpeter named Rolf Smedvig. They were unbelievable. But he was simply amazing…his breath control and precision was effortless. I’ll never forget that evening.
Decades later they had made their mark as THE premier brass ensemble. Bach, jazz, Handel…wonderful.
He, in particular, was such a talent, perfection with his instrument, I look back now and feel privileged to have heard him when he was just starting out. He had a massive heart attack when he was in his early sixties. What a loss.
And this is the very publicity photo she was autographing and handing out at camp in 1955 (found on the internet)
https://tse4.mm.bing.net/th?id=OIP.GqhpJvFUOv4x23WcVN5OqgHaMN
How “Freddy” got recorded:
At the age of 17, when Startime left the air, George Scheck and a music publisher, Lou Levy, put up $6,000 for her first very own recording session. Every label turned them down. Mitch Miller, then top A&R man at Columbia, told them both: “Save your money, boys. She sounds like fifty-thousand other girl singers.”
But the last company to which Scheck peddled her new recordings, MGM, was headed by Harry Meyerson, and he signed Connie to a two year, 20-side contract – because he had a nephew named Freddy and she had a song of the same name. He thought it would be a cute present for his nephew.
What a background, and what a life…

Cool. Thanks whistling ❤️
A multi generational family favorite 😻 💋
The only song I have ever seen and heard to break through all atheist, agnostic and religious fake values of some of the most brutal men I have ever met is this song.
And I’m talking hardcore !
I’m remembering when . . . It was well back-in-the-day. I was working late at the shop when she she wandered in. Stoned. So very stoned. She wasn’t completely aware of where she was. About 19 or so she was having a decidedly bad trip. I told her to lay down on the shop couch in the front. I knew she’d be safe there because I intended to work several more hours on my car. I checked on her a couple of times and, the last time, she was gone. Apparently, she’d gotten straight and wandered back home.
There was this old Victorian house down the street where a bunch of hippies crashed. Probably, she came from there. I was glad to give her a safe space to cool out and find her way (I hope) back home.
I look back on those days—50 years ago now—and think about those moments-in-time. There was nobody in the shop that night but me and her. I didn’t know her name but I did know that someone had given her some seriously potent acid which was way beyond her ability to cope. Giving her a little couch-time allowed her to come down and go back home. I look at those days . . . and compare them with where I am now with wonder. Were we really that young?
What a beautiful story and what a kind gentle man you were(and are) Garrison. ❤️ Never heard this group? before, it’s very nice music. Thanks 😍
Well, these are kinda “you-had-to-be -there-at-the-time” stories. . . They just sort of appear suddenly unbidden from the memory banks. I’m glad you enjoyed this one. It’s fun to remember them and then write about them . . . I often wonder where the people I encountered back then are now?
One night at the Armadillo, this beautiful girl walked up to me, looked me in the eye, smiled, reached up and gave me the most wonderful kiss—talk about curling my toes! Then she smiled again, winked, and just walked off . . . Like I say, you kinda had to be there at the time . . . 🙂
Memories are good for the soul, Garrison. They keep us young, if not in body then certainly spirit.
True. 🙂

great vignette of the times – great song from Cat Mother as well….
Remember Two Lane Blacktop?
Still have my VHS copy. 🙂
For years I kept the Esquire magazine that published the movie script. Two Lane was said to be a great script looking for a movie.

“She talks to butterflies because she knows they don’t lie” . . . Love it! Thanks! 🙂
This is a hoot.
As entertaining as that is, makes me wonder if our media/political class has been using this technique on us.
Thanks maquis and good morning ☀️
I think its programmed to brainstorm. I even tried turning away from the computer and closing my eyes, still only heard brainstorm.
Try watching a recent movie or TV show you are familiar with, with the sound off, or listening to it without watching it. If you watch without the sound, you will see things you missed, facial expressions, sneers, that demean Christianity and Western values when they talk about it. If you listen without the video, you often find yourself being startled. Wait a minute! He said WHAT? That’s not what I heard when I saw his mouth move, but the sound is definitely something different. It’s creepy.
Neuro Fascistic Programming?
I wouldn’t put it past them.

A Message From Dean Gerken on the March 10 Protest
https://law.yale.edu/yls-today/news/message-dean-gerken-march-10-protest
Here is a little thing that I read every day to help center me and keep me focused.Dealing with Alzheimer’s is one of the hardest things to do,especially because the ones we love don’t even realize what is happening.
Do Not Ask Me To Remember
Do not ask me to remember,
Do not try to make me understand.
Let me rest and know you’re with me.
Kiss my cheek and hold my hand.
I am confused beyond your concept.
I am sad and sick and lost.
All I know is that I need you to be with
me at all cost.
Do not lose your patience with me.
Do not scold or curse my cry.
I can’t help the way I’m acting,
can’t be different though I try.
Just remember that I need you,
That the best of me is gone.
Please don’t fail to stand beside me.
Love me ’til my life is done.
Prayers to all wonderful treepers, past and present, and for Sundance,Ad Rem,Menagerie,Stella and WeeWeed.Today is a new day.Let the sun shine in!
P.S.- Mrs.Betsy…made it out of the mine alive…feathers still intact! 🙂
Good Morning casco! Thanks for sharing this. It gets difficult to deal with our loved ones in this situation and I think your post will be a favorite daily reading of mine and will strengthen my resolve.
May the Lord bless you and fill your day with happiness today love ❤️
For you, Cat…A little story I found which was tweeted…
“My 3 year old kept saying she ‘wants a spirit guest & needs a spirit guest’ and ‘has a spirit guest’ and like 4 exorcism later I realized she was just talking about asparagus. ”
I hope that makes you laugh as it did me.
And it did remind me of the time when my daughter was about that age, and she came out of BibleSchool singing “God is smoking to His people”.
“…has spoken” of course. Nevertheless it did give us all a jolly good laugh, because the irreverent image her mistake incurred just wouldn’t go away for a while. Children and what they hear! Right? Blessings, girl.🙏
😂 😂 😂
Betsy, Our God created us and we have wonderful senses of humor! Can you imagine what God’s must be like!!!! 🤣
Good morning, Leenie💓 It’s a very good thing to laugh. It gets our serotonin levels working. And goodness knows we all could use huge does of that!🤗
🤣
Good morning, CBB 💓 How utterly poignant. So you, like Garrison, have a beloved family member with that cruel disease? I am so sorry.
I don’t know if you saw Garrison’s post a couple of days back wherein he was saying a friend of his sent him a video on the efficacy of coconut oil. He put some in his wife’s smoothies and in about a week he got a little of her back. A small miracle but oh so welcome. A bit of internet research might tell you about the benefits of coconut oil for your relative enduring the ravages of Alzheimer’s. I pray so.🙏
Very pleased you exited that coal mine as you went in😉. I suppose you’re back in today. Head canaries are a rare breed these days. Be well, sir. I hope your day is without drama (is there such a thing anymore?). Blessings to you. B
Betsy
We have known about the benefits of coconut oil for many years. Here’s what Doc wrote: https://jjconsulting.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/alzheimers.pdf
Ultra Monolaurin is a 90 % pure distillate of coconut oil. It is little round pearls that are easy to swallow and allow a much higher % of coconut oil:
https://timelabs.com/Ultra-Monolaurin-Beads-210g_p_1320.html
I have not said much about it, but many of the products we get enthused about were actually formulated by Doc for use in his medical practice(s), including when he was Director of Occupational Medicine at a local hospital.
Over the years Ultra Omega Linic and Ultra Monolaurin vie for which one we sold more of.
Another advantage of Ultra Monolaurin is it is anti viral, anti bacterial, anti fungal and anti parasitic. Plus the medium chain fatty acids work to protect the brain.
Disclaimer: when I had my eye bleed I had to turn my company over to Time Labs, the USA company that manufactures (manufactured) them.
I hope CCB above sees this…I’ll give him a heads up. There’s a reason you’re here, girl. Thank you.
My wife is a brain aneurysm survivor. Much the same except it is not continuing to get worse. It is just the way life is now. One day life was good, two weeks later I was taking her home after brain surgery and two weeks in ICU, and now she is a survivor. Life is still good.
I still remember the speech, the one that the surgeon gives just before he does his thing. 50% of the people that have what my wife has would die before getting to the hospital. 1/2 of those die while getting ready for surgery from swelling, strokes etc. For those that actually make it to surgery, 1/2 do not survive the surgery. For those that survive, 85% have significant life altering deficiencies. Like I said. Life is good.
The #1 sign of a brain aneurysm is that the person will say “This is the worst headache I have ever had!” If someone you know says that and the look on their face tells you it is not hyperbole, it is time to go to the hospital. You may only have minutes. If it is not an aneurysm, then no harm. If it is, you may save their life, and life is good.
About two years earlier, I heard a man on the radio talking about losing his wife and that she said these exact words. I remembered that show, but not the details. I did a quick web search and found it and knew we had to get to the hospital. If you are reading this and remember it, you might save a life someday. 1 in every 50 people have a brain aneurysm that has not ruptured. 2%. Most will never rupture, but some will.
I have a Very strange story:
I was in my mid 40’s…president of the PTA at the elementary school my kids went to. At orientation that year, I was asked to speak to incoming kindergarten parents about volunteer opportunities. (2 things to note: I am NOT afraid of public speaking, I love it! And I was miked.)
I was 5 minutes into my pitch and I felt a strange pressure and tingling at the base of my skull, soldiering onward, the pressure and pain increased moving higher and higher into my head. In another 5 minutes, I said, “Excuse me!” Gathered my stuffed and rushed from the cafeteria. Ran down the hall to the front office and behind the reception desk and threw myself on the floor in a ball. (I knew the 2 receptionists and they had known me for years. They were panicked!!!( Leenie doesn’t do fetal positions, clasping my head in public!) They wanted to call 911 and I said, “No, give me a minute, I want to go home.”
Managed to drive home where I threw up then laid down and slept for 2 hours. Woke up feeling fine.
Day 2: I had another orientation program to do. Same as the day before…same set up, same venue, same speech…5 minutes into my pitch I felt the same pressure and tingling I had felt the day before. Not being a stupid woman I said, “I apologize, I have to go!”
Long story short: Day 2 wasn’t as bad as day 1. A friend of ours who worked for GKS talked to my husband. She was heading up marketing for GSK’s migraine drug and sat on an advisory board with neurologists at Duke and other major universities. She called them and when told about these events, told my husband to get me to the ER. ASAP!
A spinal and MRI later, nothing.
So I researched…I found “sound amplification” as a possible “weapon.” Was it possible that a mike, with me standing in front of 2 large speakers had caused this? I emailed the author of the article and asked the question.
He replied that he had never heard of such an occurrence but couldn’t know for sure…
(Now I’m going to be a smart-ass…) I don’t think the elementary school was trying to assassinate their PTA president! I think whatever went on those two days had something to do with sound. 20-some years later, never experienced anything like it again.
Then came the “mystery illness” in American and other facilities in different countries… HMMMMMM…
The ER trip was smart. The typical brain aneurysm is just like that radiating up from the top the top of the spine. Not every “Worst Headache Ever” is an aneurysm, but almost every aneurysm starts as that.
I have no idea what you had. I am happy you recovered and had no more problems.
Mystery…I’ll probably never know what that was…
LOL! I now make sure that if I am miked for a speech or singing, the speakers are in front of me.
Heartfelt and so very true, Casco. Good on you and your loved one. Yesterday I was visiting with my financial guy (I don’t have much with him; basically we’re just friends). I was telling him how important it is to understand that the dementia isn’t identity. Identity, personhood, exists—sometimes for years—between the episodes of dementia.
Garrison, could you perhaps repost the link to the video about coconut oil which you posted the other day for him?
Do you remember years ago when the “powers that be” declared coconut oil to be BAD? Like eggs, butter, whole milk, coffee and on and on…
well they wanted to sell crisco.
Also, the whole ‘fat is bad’ lie encourages more sugar and carbs are consumed = more diabetes, heart disease and other conditions requiring medication.
Doc’s ‘joke’ for his patients – a reminder – that’s how they fatten cattle for market

Our Lord’s Surprise Visits
You also be ready… —Luke 12:40
A Christian worker’s greatest need is a readiness to face Jesus Christ at any and every turn. This is not easy, no matter what our experience has been. This battle is not against sin, difficulties, or circumstances, but against being so absorbed in our service to Jesus Christ that we are not ready to face Jesus Himself at every turn. The greatest need is not facing our beliefs or doctrines, or even facing the question of whether or not we are of any use to Him, but the need is to face Him.
Jesus rarely comes where we expect Him; He appears where we least expect Him, and always in the most illogical situations. The only way a servant can remain true to God is to be ready for the Lord’s surprise visits. This readiness will not be brought about by service, but through intense spiritual reality, expecting Jesus Christ at every turn. This sense of expectation will give our life the attitude of childlike wonder He wants it to have. If we are going to be ready for Jesus Christ, we have to stop being religious. In other words, we must stop using religion as if it were some kind of a lofty lifestyle— we must be spiritually real.
If you are avoiding the call of the religious thinking of today’s world, and instead are “looking unto Jesus” (Hebrews 12:2), setting your heart on what He wants, and thinking His thoughts, you will be considered impractical and a daydreamer. But when He suddenly appears in the work of the heat of the day, you will be the only one who is ready. You should trust no one, and even ignore the finest saint on earth if he blocks your sight of Jesus Christ.
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
There is nothing, naturally speaking, that makes us lose heart quicker than decay—the decay of bodily beauty, of natural life, of friendship, of associations, all these things make a man lose heart; but Paul says when we are trusting in Jesus Christ these things do not find us discouraged, light comes through them.
Oh my! Was it parichute the other day who asked if we needed to go to church to experience the joys of redemption and grace?
Here is the answer. And it is glorious!🙏
I believe you’re correct Betsy. I hope Phoenix visits here today ☺️
Ugh did it again!!!! Parichute not Phoenix. Although was I sending a vibe to Phoenix too?
I’ll send one too… VIBES to
Phoenix!
I noticed last night when I was on the Prayer Thread that she is a warm presence there, offering prayers for those who are truly in need. May God bless her mightily.🙏
‘Twas me who asked and the answer is, to use your words, gloriously clear. Another little story…when I was very young I overheard an ‘argument’ between friends’ parents and their eldest son who was against the Catholic Church. He proclaimed that their is a significant difference between Religion and Spirituality; i.e. going to church ‘religiously’ did not make one closer to God, but having God in your heart and living with Him, and through Him matters more. I never, ever forgot that to this day and ON this day; Oswald Chamber and Feral Cat brings it around. I pray I will be ‘ready’ every day. God Bless all.
I believe there is a difference, though for many, most(?) there is no difference at all But for me, I have always thought the most intense, personal relationship we have, or should, in this life is with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit…Three in One. And like all relationships, it is hard. There are ups and downs as I strive to do what is asked for, and so many times I fail miserably.
I know, however, He has not given up on me. And I know I’m growing. And I feel more at peace for it. And I didn’t realize how I, as well, am always watching in expectation. Like a child anticipating the arrival of Christmas, but better. A child of God I was born, and a child of Him I remain.🤗
A misrepresentation of the faithful practice of Catholic faith, stunningly ignorant in its assumptions.
“Jesus is on the main line. Tell Him what you want . . .” I think it’s about prayer.
Thank you Feral cat.

Cyprus just lost 70% of their potato crop due to frost
““Approximately 70 per cent of aggregate potato production in Cyprus has been destroyed and the crop left relatively intact is of subpar quality,” one grower said. Frost-burned potato crops mark their presence with their top leaves withered and blackened, contrasting with the soil and the greenery of the landscape”

Anger at Pepsi deal to sell 2,000 tonnes of Scottish seed potatoes to Russia https://potatoes.news/pepsi-scottish-seed-potatoes-russia/Daily-News
NOT good. Their potatoes are delicious. Oh dear😬
Cyprus has four crops of potatoes.
A Winter crop, Spring crop, Summer crop and a Fall crop.
Because of the milder clime in Cyprus they can grow and harvest almost all year round.
I am thinking it is their “Spring crop” that has been lost, the one they harvest usually March through June.
This is not good but they still have the other harvests.
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

An excellent article on prayer. How easy to do this!
https://dwightlongenecker.com/pray-without-ceasing-how-do-i-do-that/
Thank you for this simple but truly helpful instruction, Menagerie. As I’m more aware than ever how much I am turning to prayer every day for others and for our circumstances, I also realize how helter skelter my implorings are.
Be still and know that I am God. I rely on repeating this, but now you have given me three things to add which will centre my thoughts even more. Thank you. B
One of the most effective additional ways of prayer and of being connected is the Personal prayer. Find a quite place free from distraction for 1 hour a day, (could be a walk, on the beach, in the car…) where one engages in a verbal (this is important) conversation with our maker – informal – everything and anything is on the table – like talking to a best friend, a trusted confidant – after all there is nothing one can hide, so be totally honest, put your questions, fears, doubts, thankfulness, everything, and just talk about whatever is on your mind.
All you say is good advice. I do have my private time at night by myself in front of a beautiful cross of unusual design my husband made for me, oldspeak.
My issue is that my list is so extensive and grows every day. I have settled on simple prayers for all and then special pleadings for individuals whose needs I have become aware of. It may be one of my family. It may be a complete stranger. But I always end with the Lord’s Prayer, which emphasizes the single most important acknowledgement…Thy will be done.
I do appreciate your reply. Thank you💓B

Sepp,
Did you get a chance to see the St. Nektarios film, “Man of God”? I thought it was a well made movie. And so moving. What a life.
Blessings
Yes – the film is excellent. I saw it before it came to the USA. I was able to go to Ægina where Saint Nektarios had lived, too.
I was still in elementary school when I heard this speech. I watched the newly inaugurated President deliver it with passion and sincerity. My parents were watching attentively, and as I quickly learned, approvingly. I was impressed.
John F. Kennedy was an imperfect man, but understood the dark and evil side of humanity that had been working for well over a century to undermine America and all it stood for. He was determined to eliminate the Fed and most of the Intelligence Community that had already been heavily infiltrated by communists. And they murdered him for it.
We need to move forward with his passion and rescue our nation from the evil bastards who think they own us.
President John F. Kennedy’s 1961 Speech Feels Like A Prophecy For 2022
.
Good morning, GB💓 Knowing what we know now about our Stalinist intelligence agencies, I have come quickly to believing he was assassinated by them. And further believe Oswald was despatched before he could reveal what he knew. That Ruby would be “allowed” to get close to do the deed is an eyebrow raiser in any event. I am in agreement with you. Today, if such as a John Kennedy (personal life aside) existed, he would be marginalized and get nowhere near the presidency. All blessings to you.
“Today, if such as a John Kennedy (personal life aside) existed, he would be marginalized and get nowhere near the presidency.”
Oh yes. In particular, someone such as Donald John Trump.
I often wonder if Kennedy was the reason for Mr Trump in his earlier life being a Democrat. It would make sense (to me).
Possibly. DJ Trump was a native New Yorker, and dealt extensively with NYC and NY State government. I think *that* many have had a stronger influence on his early political leanings. Also, what was his father’s politics? Fred Trump was pretty controversial, but his history suggests he was a Democrat (had been in KKK march in the 1920s). Also President Eisenhower made accusations against big real estate developers, so I’m betting the trumps were not big fans ….
GB , Right on!!

Court Appointed Special Advocates
I have a word to share.
This week I had an issue that was ongoing and had me uneasy. My faith was tested. I began to praise God and pray instead of filling my mind with hate. It was at work and people who have knowledge of jobs and such do not want to share that knowledge with others. My understanding is, job security on their part. There is much more to it than that because it means no difference in pay, but in simplicity “job security”.
When it happens I feel extremely angry, I had
trouble with that because in the past, I could care less. I didn’t understand my anger. So in praising God it was brought to my attention that, those gifts in knowledge and talent do not belong to those people, they are God given. “All good and perfect gifts come from above.”
Being selfish with Gods gifts is why people are given less and less. They pursue endlessly the unattainable. Less is not poverty, Less is the eternal rewards that make life eternal and rewarding. (Poverty is a whole other issue. If you look back, when you have any success, you can see what poverty is.)
Anyway, pray for those who spitefully use you. Praise God and your path will be made clear.
Very astute observations palerider. If I had been tuned in on this wavelength, my past life would have been quieter. This I will pass on to my children in hopes their job lives will be smoother. Thank you ☺️
Dear Palerider – I was taught by my parents to avoid that type of behavior (if I don’t share, I will keep my job). The alternative is, by far, so much more rewarding and it ‘pays back’. For example, if I share my knowledge or mentor a younger (or less experienced) person, then they share the load, alleviate some of my time to take on different challenges that position me for advancement, and consequently them as well. I’m pretty sure that is how it should work.
Oh… and the bonus? No anger!
no anger for the giver that is…. I wish I had insight into influencing those that could be sharing knowledge except to compliment their brilliance – some folks, when being put on a pedestal, will want to ‘gush’ what they know. ;o)
Yesterday’s Posts included references to glaucoma and macular degeneration.
I want to take this opportunity to expand. FYI I am speaking from first hand experience.
I am losing vision in my left eye due to dry macular.
Almost 3 yrs ago I had a bleed in my right eye – what is known as wet macular – with a little dry thrown in for good luck. Even tho my flying days were over years ago, ’twas more than a small shock to be legally blind and unable to drive – or read a book- or do banking – or see someone’s face. There was this big red sausage shaped thing in the way.
My overnight thought for those of you facing any of these 3 conditions – find a retina specialist. They do special imaging not done by regular eye doctors – and know what they are looking for.
A family history of those conditions is a red flag. Not so sure about the high BP as a red flag,. Does Covid or getting the shot affect the eyes? Well, we are talking about blood in the eye …
There are nutritional approaches to lowering BP See here for all the nutritional protocols Doc has written over the years: https://jjconsulting.net/protocols.
re: that article I referenced – here: Potential Therapeutic Benefit of NAD + Supplementation for Glaucoma and Age-Related Macular Degeneration – PubMed (nih.gov)
here’s the pdf: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7551676/
Don’t read it expecting to understand all you read. Read it for what you can understand. Might want to share it with your doctor(s).
“Treatment” for glaucoma is prostaglandin drops. The Ultra Omega Liniic I referenced provides the precursors for prostaglandins – that’s why taking high doses of Ultra Omega Linic worked for Doc. He did that for years and proved to his eye doctor that it worked. PS – we found studies of eskimos who didn’t have glaucoma – their diet, don’t cha know
Re dry macular – there is NO TREATMENT (at this time). The AREDS study indicates nutrients MAY slow its progress.
Re: wet macular – there is NO PREVENTION – “Treatment” involves injecting one of several anti colon cancer drugs every 4 weeks to prevent the proliferation of blood vessels in the eye – and stop seepage of blood and serum. Be forewarned – it is gene therapy – it does have side effects. I have been trying to find ways to mitigate those side effects – hence my search and lucky find re: tryptophan
Both types of macular affect the foveua or macular – the center of the eye which you use to read, see faces, drive – do all the things you do every day.
The L-Tryptophan converts to several metabolites – like seratonin, melatonin and 5 HTP. The one discussed in the article is NAD +. What caught my eye are the words DNA Repair. All my years of research I have NEVER seen those words in connection with a nutritional supplement. NAD is also made from B3 or niacin. The article mentions several kinds of B3 that were used in the studies. I elect to use both l-tryptophan and niacinamide.
When I got to the end of the paper I found this little bitter pill – a little helps a lot. A lot has a negative effect. Since the studies were published in 2020, do you think I can find anyone who knows anything about any of this? Like – how much should you take?
My retina specialist and eye doctor just shrugged. I take lots of supplements – but when I read this info I added 500 mg L-Tryptophan. The rest of my daily routine already was adding about 100 mg niacinamide (nicotinamide). A little humor: nicotinamide sounds like nicotine (smoking) so the name was changed to protect the innocent. Does that nicotinamide riboside work better? who knows…
Studies were done on mice and rats. no easy conversion to human size. Their eyes could be cut out and studied in detail. But looks to me like they proved it works. They blinded the mice, treated them, and they could see again. 64 dollar question – what could they see vis a vis what could you see?
PS – the NAD+ (DNA repair) helps all sorts of other health conditions / problems. Just do a search
I will gladly answer any questions I can, but we are moving tomorrow so the next 3 days will be full of packing and transporting. I’ll check in later today.
As they say – rotsa ruck
Hugs, blessings, and all that good stuff.
Thank you for this, ms idaho! We take lutein every day, but the other day I was wondering if there was anything else we could do preventatively. As for BP, I’m always interested in doing whatever I can for us both to sidestep that issue.
One thing, one silver lining, for us as an older couple (You know…the age group Ezekiel Emmanuel, Fauci, and Gates, to name but a few, and their evil governmental ilk want to eliminate and quickly) which the past two grotesque years has inspired is to make me aware of supplements and their benefits. I’ve never read so much on this issue than I have since 2019.
I look forward to reading your links, and I thank you for posting. And I do pray that your doctor(s) can make your condition better than even you could hope for.
The very bets of luck for a smooth residential transition. We’ll see you again once you’re relatively settled. B 💓🙏
FYI… I clicked on the first link to nutritional protocols written by your hubby and it came up “No Results Found”…
lets see if this will work: https://jjconsulting.net/protocols/
if not – just drop the /protocols.
He has a menu list of articles, protocols, products, recipes and more
Will look👍
Boom! Works perfectly. Thank you!
Bless you Ms Idaho for posting this information. Your timing couldn’t have been better!
In mid December I woke up one day with this weird wavy line in the vision of my left eye. I didn’t think too much about it because I have severe short bowel syndrome and don’t absorb much of what I eat. Because of that my eyes are all over the place in terms of quality of vision.
I mentioned it to a dear friend who has macular degeneration and she told me to get to a ophthalmologist asap. Got a referral from my local doctor and went. He did some tests and confirmed macular degeneration but he doesn’t treat macular degeneration so back to the doctor for a referral to an ophthalmologist who does treat it. I received my first shot in my eye last Wednesday.
About this time last year I began taking Turmeric daily as an anti inflammatory. After taking it for several months I noticed my eyesight was better than it had been in about 20 years. I no longer needed glasses for distance. Still needed glasses for reading. Last December I ran out of the turmeric but didn’t replace it because I was more focused on stocking up on food supplies.
Then the wavy line appeared followed by a light gray spot in the center of my vision. After a couple of weeks the light gray spot became a black spot with no vision.
When I started the turmeric again, after about 5 days I noticed the black spot had gone back to being a light gray spot and after several more weeks I could see blurry images through the spot. I mentioned it to the doctor who gave me the shot but he didn’t think there was any correlation.
After reading the links you posted I noticed that inflammation was listed as one of the problems. When I can afford it I will add in some of what you have written about. But I will continue the turmeric. At least for me, the turmeric has no side effects. I take 1000 mg once daily.
Thank you so very much for your post!!!
Patty
If you are doing research – you are sure on the right track with the turmeric. It is a great antiinflammatory. I have not read whether it is effective in the eye.
Some things to think about.
1) be sure your eye doctor is following you with imaging. I don’t know if opthalmalogists are as specialized as retinologists
2) regardless of your supplement routine, be aware that the eye is terrible at pumping nutrients in and debris out. I don’t know to what extent an individual ‘brand’ is more absorbable and will be picked up by the eye
3) The grey / black / grey circle may be dry macular with a firm diagnosis. If so you need something like the AREDS nutrients (or, as my story above indicated) l-tryptophan and one of the niacins.
I should have been more clear. I am now seeing a dr. at the California Retina Consultants. They only do retina stuff. I have been to his office twice and each time he does all the retina pictures. He told me I have dry MD in my right eye and wet in the left eye.
I am looking into where to get the l-tryptophan and niacins. They don’t seem to be available locally. (I live in a very rural county in CA.)
Thank you so very much for your help and your information. I truly appreciate it!
Love LOVE Turmeric for many things! Have been taking it for quite a few years. I’m so glad it works for you, patty💓
Thank you, Betsy. Actually I originally got the turmeric for my old dog, Emma. She developed an internal fungal problem that caused her to itch horribly. I couldn’t afford the very expensive meds for her so my vet suggested using the turmeric (it’s also anti-fungal). It worked great. My sweet Emma died about this time last year and I didn’t want to just let the turmeric go to waste so I started taking it.
Patty – and everyone who has any concern about macular degeneration – especially those with a family history of same.
I need to emphasize that THERE IS NO TREATMENT for the Dry. Anything and everything you can do to prevent it, or its progression, is of critical importance. Once the retina cells die, they are dead and gone.
That was the key takeaway from the article on L-tryptophan and NAD+. It is the ONLY nutritional info I have ever seen mentioning DNA Repair. That is not the same thing as anti inflammatory (like turmeric, which I also take) – which merely (and importantly) reduces inflammation.
A killer in Dry Macular is a little thing called Drusen. Drusen can cut off nutrition and blood flow and hasten the demise of macular (center vision) cells
The reason I urge you to find a retina specialist or someone who can and will do imaging is they can ‘see’ the condition of the retina and presence of harmful accumulation of debris behind the retina.
In contrast, there is treatment (symptom suppression) for wet macular and glaucoma. Side effects are easier to ‘bear’ when you can at least ‘see’.
anybody wanta buy 85 acres on the river near the Pacific ocean 3000+ ft house. highland cattle. we are very old and need to move.

No, wish I could help. Good luck.
Thanks anyway. No luck needed as if we do decide to sell it will go fast. We have several offers a month from timber companies owning the forests around us. Also several strangers have driven up the lane asking if we will sell. Green pastures beside a tidal river, gravity spring quarter mile up the hill so great water pressure. Old orchard about to spring into apple blossom time, no neighbors. Trouble is all the damn mowing.

I am not vaccinated against so called covid19. I love living natural and taking care of myself as much as possible. I transformed covid restrictions to make better myself. I joined gym, started researching natural ways to live and researched what is behind this covid nonsense thanks to lots of free time that they give us by ordering to stay at home. It really opened my eyes and I don’t see the world as I see in 2019. Vitamins are part of our life and most of us including myself are deficient. You can take care of your entire self by visiting http://www.livingnatural.net
I love that song as it brings tears to my eyes. It reminds me that I’m not being a good Christian right now and that needs to change. I thank Jesus that my name is in the Book of LIfe because the alternative is unthinkable and not something that I would be looking forward to. I pray right now that all will fall on their knees before the Lord God Almighty and ask for forgiveness and that Jesus will heal you and forgive you and you can know that through the Grace of God you are saved. God bless everyone.
Lovely, Sheryl. We try, sometimes we fall short, we get up and ask for forgiveness. He is merciful and His gift of grace is unlimited. There is so much comfort in that.🙏😊

Yesterday one of us here in the treehouse asked for a definition of civilization. I today read California has a bill to allow killing kids up to seven weeks after birth. if you don’t like the brat you can smother it. That is NOT civilization. That is akin to the ancients leaving the unwanted exposed on a field somewhere like Oedipus. With the newly proposed tax on unrealised gains I hope Elon Musk gets someplace civilized. as in “get your ass to Mars”?????? where can I get away from this shit?
