Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

still Caturday in my far-flung time zone
Awww.. ❤️
Good morning, Cat💓
I found this short poem yesterday by Ogden Nash, who wrote of so many about God’s creations. I’d forgotten it, but thought you’d like.
“The trouble with a kitten is THAT
Eventually it becomes a CAT.”
I’d have to disagree with this wordmaster. I love them both. All blessings to you, my friend.
Good Morning Betsy. Gotta agree with that sentiment. Both his and yours. It’s when the kitten grows up that it’s a formidable opponent 😎
Claws and attitude…a deadly combination😉💓
Good morning, Cat! Our 3 cats eventually got tired of each dog trying to harass them and taught them some life long lessons. They would gang up on the dog circling around with blood curling sounds coming out of their throats. ❤️🐅
Good Morning grandpa! 😂 that must have been awesome to see lol. Did it work?
Like a charm.
Good morning, G💓 I know that sound! Threatening… this far and no further.
Hope your leg is recovering and your stepdad is getting better and at peace.🙏
I just ran across a comment from a woman, on another site, who visits here, although I don’t believe I’ve ever seen her comment…it was so funny, and so I’ll leave the whole thing here and hat tip her.
From RipleysMom. Her two feline miscreants are named Calvin and Hobbes.
“Around midnight, unpleasant sounds of a kitty rumble forced me out of bed. When I got to the living room, C and H were one big furry mass, and each had pulled the collar off the other. They would run away from me, and instantly re-engage. Finally I was able to grab Hobbes, and I marched him down to our bedroom and got him settled with me.
Wasn’t 5 minutes, and Calvin was saying naughty things out in the living room. It sounded like he said, ” Your mama wears Army boots”, altho, since they are brothers, that’s an odd insult. Anyway, Hobbes couldn’t ignore the insult and went flying back into the boxing ring.
A few hours later, the three of us had a brief meeting in the bathroom. The boys were rubbing against each other, chirping, and suggesting a very early breakfast be served. Since the twins took over the house, never a dull moment.”
MEOW!!! And a brilliant ringside commentary, if I do say so myself. Brava!
LOL! I think I’ve seen her comments here and there.
Another exciting morning. ER visit this time with my SIL. I was doing church security when I got the call. Some bloody fluid in the feeding tube. Turned out nothing serious, blood work and CT scan normal. Just the tube has been in for 8 months. Normally, they never stay in or even last that long. Problem is that she is not eating enough to pull it out. Most likely it’s irritating the stomach. My guess would be to pull it out for a short time and give it a rest then place another one. We’ll see. My bride and SIL should be getting home soon.
Oh no!! Oh Lord love her💓
That does sound a long time for a feeding tube. She must be in quite a bit of distress, which can only imagine is pretty intense. What a life she has and has to endure. I’m so sorry for her situation, G. Hopefully your hospital there was adequate for her needs.🙏 I do so hope she is back at home? My prayers for her start now.
They are back home and she’ll be seeing a gastroenterologist this week.
BTW, I just realized I was confusing the lady with the 2 cats that you mentioned with someone else.
Just got back from my parents house. Gave my stepdad his insulin. Mom said this morning he found a bag with sugar free cough drops and ate 9. By time this is all said and done I may need some heavy 🍷🍷🍷 therapy.
Oh golly! His stash? I think you’d best get started on the medicinals. When all are settled for the night, start then!
😂
🤗…bottoms up!!
Too cool for school.
💓!!!
Yea, I know what comes after Sunday for a Cat. Another day of the household existing and being run strictly for the convenience of Gabby the cat. Or so she thinks.
Blessed Sunday to you, WP💓 Such a lifeline to hold on to when there seems to be none.
O most loving Father, who willest us to give thanks for all things, to dread nothing but the loss of thee , and to cast all our care on thee, who carest for us; Preserve us from faithless fears and worldly anxieties, and grant that no clouds of this mortal life may hide us from the light of that love which is immortal, and which thou hast manifested unto us in thy Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.🙏
Good morning, Betsy! Another beautiful prayer to start the day. Have a blessed one!
Beautiful pairing with wp’s post. ❤️
Thanks, W _P!
Supreme Court Sides With Pentagon Over COVID-19 Vaccination Status in Navy SEALs Deployment
https://archive.ph/RqCrT#selection-1265.0-1265.91
Lazy incuriosity and ignorance sits on the Supreme Court. Such imperils us all
A bunch of highly trained and motivated warriors are going to be leaving the service. Lots of money has been poured into their training and lots of money will be poured into trying to replace them. And in the mean time we’re weaker. Thank you SCJ Kavanaugh. I’m so glad I supported your appointment.
Yes…didn’t he turn out to be a real prize?
Agree totally. And I underscore your last sentiment. I also supported him. Joke’s on us. Only it’s no joke.
But I thought the Pentagon were the good guys. Lol
Haven’t heard this tune since the 70’s?
Great song!
My wife and I are now in our 55th year together—something I think she deservers a medal for having put up with me for so long. I often refer to her as my “oil patch” girl because her family worked in the oil fields. A good part of her childhood was spent in company housing which was usually located next to functioning oil-wells. She was also a scholar, a linguist, a professor and someone who was way smarter than me. But she could also flat-tow you across town or pull you out of a bar-ditch at 2am on a cold February morning . . .
My wife suffers from late stage Alzheimer’s and I am her care-giver. We’ve been doing this for almost 20 years now . . . which is unusual for the disease. But recently, something very interesting has happened. A friend sent me a link to a series of YouTube videos which talked about the palliative affect of coconut oil on the cognition of Alzheimer’s sufferers. Intrigued, I began mixing coconut oil into my wife twice-a=day smoothies.
After about a week of giving her coconut-oil smoothies, one morning she came into the kitchen with her hair combed. Now this may seem like something that’s trivial but if you understand the affect of the disease on the brain it’s very important. This was the first time she’d combed her hair unassisted (by me) in over 3 years. she sat at the breakfast table and talked to me normally in short sentences—something she hadn’t done in a very long time. I mention this because if you have a loved one with dementia or just a cognitive decline, coconut oil may have a positive affect.
One of the most poignant realities of caring with someone with Alzheimer’s is that you have to watch your loved one slowly fade away. I found this song the other day which I think speaks to some of the emotions of loss that go with caregiving. It’s not about Alzheimer’s but it is about the intense emotions we feel about love and loss. I hope you like it.
Thank you Garrison for sharing the story about how the coconut oil in the smoothies helped your wife. I know a care-giver who may be able to benefit from the information and will pass it along when the opportunity arises.
Your wife is blessed to have you.
Yes, she is.
🙂
Garrison – what AMOUNT of coconut oil in a smoothie? Tablespoon? Teaspoon?
No, I’m blessed to have her. She could have dumped me many times but didn’t. Love is about loyalty and trust. If that’s intact then you can stay together. Looking back at all those critical times, it was loyalty and trust that kept us together. i always knew if I was in a bar-ditch somewhere she’d come get me . . .
Thank you, Garrison. Will try the coconut oil for my SIL and my stepdad. And you are so right about loyalty and trust. Blessings!
🙂 Really, I’m just the guy that turns the lights out . . .
When my dad was dying, I remember my mother telling him not to go. “Who will turn out the lights for me?’ she said to him. He always waited up for her, so he could turn off the lights at night.
Oh, I am so glad you finally learned about Coconut Oil. And that it *helped* your wife.
In some areas there are support groups for people who are caregivers of loved ones who have alzheimers.
They don’t just sit around and cry on each others shoulders. They actually have relevant info and resources to share.
I was blessed to have a very good one in my area when my mother had it. The info helped a LOT.
Yes, those improvements (combing hair and forming longer sentences) are HUGE. And it’s such a relief for the caregiver to see actual improvements. I really treasured those moments after my mom passed. Cuz they seemed to make *her* happy, too.
More Power to You.
🙂
During the years my late hubby and I spent in rural Minnesota (1993-2012) in the community he was born and grew up, I got an Alzheimers support group started in connection with the community nurse program I was manager for. That group of spouses and children was amazing. So intuitive and creative, loving and always thinking.
My extended family, including 14 bloodline-aunts, has a history re Alzheimers and dementia in late 80s-90s (and most did live that long). It’s my dear hope that my sons and dear daughters-in-law don’t have to deal with that in my ending time. We’ll see how it goes.
Sounds like the group in my area.
We had nurses involved too. In fact, a Nurse headed the group. And she was super talented at keeping people “on track”. And full of helpful info.
For many of the Caretakers, it was their only break fr/ Caretaking during the week. Especially if they were the spouse of the Alz. patient and had no children/other family nearby.
Oh Garrison, thank you for sharing such a personal story. I was a caregiver for 7 years. Take care of YOU also. I didn’t know how important it was. Bless you and your precious wife.
Thanks Molly. We’re in our 19th year. We both know that just getting a good night’s sleep is a wonderful thing. . . . 🙂
Heartbreaking and lovely. Well done Garrison.
Garrison! A normal day rainbow overhead! grab that anniversary dance! 🥰 💕 ❤️
My mom had a similar very slow progression. She was part of a long term study at a local university that was trying to learn why some people progressed slowly hoping to find a key for stopping it entirely. She got monthly checks by a doctor and in the end they came up with nothing of which we know. Three things stand out from the ordeal.
For the later stages, the patient is mostly blissfully unaware of what is happening to them. It is the family that most suffers the ravages of the condition.
You may already know that music is important. Our memories of music are stored in a different part of the brain that may be less affected. We learned this when an aide working with my mom would sing instruction to her and she would respond. She an Mom would sing hymns and Mom could remember the words. We started leaving music playing that we knew she would like. She seemed to respond to the music.
Finally, the doctors that were checking her noticed her cataracts and suggested surgery as they were quite progressed. She got them both done the same day and when she came out of surgery, she recognized us and spoke to us by name, something she had not done in months. It seems that should did not know us because she could not see us clearly and she could not remember what it was like to see so she never said “I can’t see” as what she could see was her now normal.
Music is HUGE.
And so are old photos.
Those 2 things could always bring a smile to her face.
I really wish we had kept track of the old slides , slide projector and films that we’d had of the family. Would have been great to project them onto the big, old screen her father had.
But even tiny old black and white photos did the trick.
Plus, they were fun for *us* to look at, too.
Garrison, I can only imagine the thrill you felt for this unexpected small miracle. Bless your friend for the information he sent to you. What a find! But then, this is what people used before such natural assistance was denigrated and when God’s gifts found in nature were used to alleviate man’s ailments. Thousands of years of discovering elements which worked either in whole or in part?
I’m so happy for her, and you, that something as mundane as coconut oil has given a bit of her back to you. God truly bless you both, my friend. And thank you again for what has become one of my favourites, in a most poignant way. 😘
What a beautiful song and singer!
When is your anniversary, Garrison? Your wife sounds amazing! I took care of my mother for the last 3 years of her life – she had a different kind of dementia and interstitial pulmonary fibrosis. I know what’s its like to watch someone you adore and admire seem to fade away and forget who they are. It is heartbreaking, to say the least. How wonderful that you discovered something simple that actually helps! I used to have a masseuse come to the house monthly to give Mom a private massage. That seemed to help some, too. She would be a little better for a while after those sessions, the physical touch made her feel more like herself – come to herself, I think. I will keep her and you in my prayers.
Thank you!

Lots of good info on Alzheimer’s here. I have used some of Dr Bergs techniques for my FIL with dementia and Parkinson’s and seen great improvements.
Garrison: Thank you for sharing the heart wrenching details … you are both blessed to have each other.
I did love the song and I smiled and cried with you.
This link may have some information that assists you:

Also, if you search “dementia” on the site, there are several links you may find helpful.
Thank you for sharing your story and what your are experiencing with adding the coconut oil to your wife’s smoothies. Its such a blessing for you.
There is growing anecdotal evidence of cognitive improvement in dementia patients who take coconut oil.
I read an article on the benefits of coconut oil. My husband has been exhibiting signs of early dementia, short term memory loss and increasing forgetfulness. I bought some coconut oil for both of us to take. He’s been taking 2 tablespoons a day now for about a year. I’ve seen an improvement in his memory and his forgetfulness seem less also. He’s even noticed it.
I get the oil from a business online called Healthy Traditions. They buy small batch virgin coconut oil from the Phillipines.
May our Lord bless and keep you and your beloved always. You are greatly appreciated and I thank you for sharing all the wonderful music. Prayers daily.
Garrison, There are many web sites showing how dementia can be slowed, stopped, or reversed by diet. Wish I could speak in person to everyone because it is hard for me to explain in this forum, even though it is fairly simple.
An internet search reveals many doctors/scientists saying the same thing about the root cause. Look for Eric Berg, Low Carb Down Under. and the National Library of Medicine. Search for B Vitamins, Omega 3 fatty acids, as well as the destruction caused by sugar and foods that turn into sugar. The most information I found pertinent has been on YouTube. Dig for sites dealing with the root cause(s)
Beware of sites selling “cures”, pharmaceutical garbage, and big medical sites, and government sites.
The most important thing to do while searching is to pray to our Creator.
If you are a gearhead, their are cars and, often, motorcycles that become an important part of how you define yourself. I had a brief interlude with very fast motorcycles. My bike was Italian, a “desmo” Ducati. As expected it was lightweight and very fast. One day I was out riding when I went through a decreasing radius “S” curve. There were stone walls on either side, the curve became increasingly challenging, I’d entered it much too fast, and was way over my head in terms of fast motorcycle skills.
Fortunately, the Ducati turned out to be a lot faster than I was—it negotiated this dangerous roadway with a aplomb that I couldn’t match. Coming out the other side I was drenched in cold sweat and scared to death. Right then and there I decided that my conveyances would have 4 wheels.
Although I promptly sold the bike, I maintained and interest—mercifully abstract—in fast motorcycles. One day I was at a high-end chrome-shop who’s owner had a truly iconic fast motorcycle. It was a Vincent Black Shadow. It was the most brutally beautiful, entirely captivating bike I’d ever seen. I immediately wanted to ride it but, fortunately having almost killed myself once on the Ducati, my prudent good sense confined my interest to just admiring that example of motorcycle history. It was a truly beautiful bike.
I suppose I should write something about “Cafe Racing” in the UK . . . Maybe later. Or, if anyone else want’s to contribute feel free . . .
Still have my big block SS Chevelle, just an old street racer I am. 😉
Had one. Convertible with a 396 engine with a six pack edlebroch. Rear elevation minimum three feet. Positive-traction, automatic.
Took three pinks street racing. Did you take any pinks?
I had a 1973 Vega. Lasted a full 30,000 miles. Was using a quart of oil to a half of tank of gas.
😂
I traded for a Chevette 1976 Bicentennial edition that was still on the lot in 1978 so the dealer made me a good deal. It had the ugliest upholstery ever and he agreed to replace it with any other Chevrolet upholstery if I would buy the car. I looked through the books and picked out a nice one. The dealer was furious as I picked a Corvette cloth. I asked, “Corvette is a Chevrolet, isn’t it?”
I also had a 1975 Blazer. I was not good at picking vehicles. After the ’80 Audi, I eventually had a ’85 Buick and ’85 S-15 that were in the garage at the same time for engine overhauls. That is when I switched to Dodge Trucks and Toyota cars.
I think you had a good eye picking that upholstery 😉 would have enjoyed seeing the dealer’face. 😂
And the 75 blazer, what I wouldn’t trade to get mine back. Loved Baja’ing in it!
Just money! 😉
That’s a beautiful car.
I had a 73 chevy with a 454 under the hood, it was hard to beat. I never raced for pinks, but I did frequently take ALL my sister’s friends to Dairy Queen after school, so… there’s that.
(Ok, ok, it was my dad’s car, sheesh. I’m just glad he let me drive it my junior and senior years.)
Good morning, jay💓 You are like my husband who owned and restored many motor cars, as they were called back in the day in Britain. He would have been thrilled to work on the one you mention. But a beast like the one Cat showed would have taken up both sides of the road there. For him, those were the good old days, and he waxes quite lyrical about them.
I love the smell of burning rubber and any good fuel, anytime of the day. I’m a huge sprint car fan too.
Well THAT put a big smile on his face!😁
I don’t think many realize that the top class of Sprints have a higher HP to weight ratio than any Indy car and more than many F1 cars. Car minimum weight with driver is 1,400 lb. with an engine putting out 900 HP or a little more.
I Love all the Sprints and the Midgets to and especially on the dirt. But the best to me are USAC without the wing on the dirt.
Every July there is Indiana Sprint Week. Billed as the most intense week of racing anywhere. Seven races at seven different tracks in nine days. An overall champion being crowned at the end. The first race is always at Gas City just 35 miles down the road from where I live and most of the tracks are within a distance where we can go and be back without spending the night somewhere other than home.
This is working mans racing. You can go into the pits and see the cars and drivers getting ready to run. Everyone stands for the National Anthem and the pre racing prayer. There are no Karens, or BLM, or any of the crap. And it doesn’t cost a fortune.
Enjoy the compilation set to music.
Still a Mopar fan.
Mopar, sweet beasts!!!!! 😘 ❤️
Interesting…my British hubby had a Triumph Bonneville and in his youth lonnng ago, he used to do Cafe racing, back in the 60s when roads were very different and the cafes offered sausage or bacon butties (sandwiches). No regulations, no “Health and Safety” busybodies to interfere. Dozens would show up at various cafes to do their thing. A different cafe every time. He also said it was more about camaraderie than racing in those days.
But these days? Wouldn’t be allowed of course. Such is the purpose of government and their attendant agencies. No harm done, just fun…which cannot be allowed.
When I was teaching I often used street-racing as an example of subculture. There was a tacit understanding between cops and racers. So long as you were discrete and didn’t kill someone they’d leave you alone (some of the cops were racers themselves). And every time I covered this I’d have a student come up after class and tell me where the next night drags were going to be held. 🙂
Car culture was and is Huge in the USA, I remember when some gas stations had a pump for 110 octane.
Me too, I ran two gas stations in the 1970s.
That premium / ethyl had a bit of a red tint to it.
Ooops!! My reply to you disappeared! Ah well…life in the internet trenches. Briefly I said that subculture is the right word for it. Similar to “Mods and Rockers” across the pond in the 60s. I think a lot of us who lived in those times are doing quite a bit of reminiscing these days.
🙂
“A Song for you.”
I really like this song. “Take me Home”
Wonderful. Hadn’t heard this is a long time. Thanks for posting. 🙂
ABIDE WITH ME
Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
John 15: 4-5, WEB
Good Morning 1530!
Absolutely beautiful ❤️
Thank you ☺️
FC, you’re welcome.
Blessed Sunday, 1530.💓
Someone overheard my thoughts yesterday, when this beautiful hymn arose in my mind. And here you’ve posted one of the most gorgeous performances of it I have ever heard. I’m tempted to use the word “coincidence”… but perhaps not. Such wonderful Scripture to precede my listening to it. Extremely reassuring. Thank you so much, my friend🙏
Betsy, a blessed Sunday to you, too. As you say, it is a beautiful hymn.
Good afternoon, 1530!
Good afternoon to you, too, Grandpa!
. . . but deliver us from the Evil One.

The very first record ever released by Del Shannon, “Runaway” enters the Billboard chart on its way to becoming a million selling, number one hit.
27 March 1971
Three Dog Night‘s version of Hoyt Axton’s “Joy To The World” enters the Billboard Hot 100 on its way to becoming the biggest selling single of the year. Unlike most Three Dog Night songs recorded at that point, instead of having just the three main vocalists singing harmony, the song was recorded with all seven members of the band singing.

Elvis Presley records what proves to be his last Top Ten hit during his lifetime, “Burning Love”. Drummer Ronnie Tutt would later recall, “He never felt comfortable with it because he had a hard time with those lyrics.” The song would reach #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, #1 on the Cashbox Best Sellers chart. The song’s writer, Dennis Linde, later overdubbed the opening guitar riffs into the record’s final mix.
Sundance, is anyone else not able to access certain internet sites? I can’t get Rumble, nor Twitter. GETTR is OK. Some links inside GETTR posts are not working? Is it just me?
I can access and view rumble and Twitter links and videos. Internet fine here. Hopefully it’s just a simple fix like clearing out your cache. No techie, that’s what I’ve read as suggestions to fix before.
Not sure who is using Chrome for their browser, but yesterday Chrome put out an emergency update for all users, something about a huge attack going on, so if that is the browser you’re using, perhaps check to update and see if that will fix things for you?
Spiritual Vision Through Personal Character
Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place… —Revelation 4:1
A higher state of mind and spiritual vision can only be achieved through the higher practice of personal character. If you live up to the highest and best that you know in the outer level of your life, God will continually say to you, “Friend, come up even higher.” There is also a continuing rule in temptation which calls you to go higher; but when you do, you only encounter other temptations and character traits. Both God and Satan use the strategy of elevation, but Satan uses it in temptation, and the effect is quite different. When the devil elevates you to a certain place, he causes you to fasten your idea of what holiness is far beyond what flesh and blood could ever bear or achieve. Your life becomes a spiritual acrobatic performance high atop a steeple. You cling to it, trying to maintain your balance and daring not to move. But when God elevates you by His grace into heavenly places, you find a vast plateau where you can move about with ease.
Compare this week in your spiritual life with the same week last year to see how God has called you to a higher level. We have all been brought to see from a higher viewpoint. Never allow God to show you a truth which you do not instantly begin to live up to, applying it to your life. Always work through it, staying in its light.
Your growth in grace is not measured by the fact that you haven’t turned back, but that you have an insight and understanding into where you are spiritually. Have you heard God say, “Come up higher,” not audibly on the outer level, but to the innermost part of your character?
“Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing…?” (Genesis 18:17). God has to hide from us what He does, until, due to the growth of our personal character, we get to the level where He is then able to reveal it.
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
It is an easy thing to argue from precedent because it makes everything simple, but it is a risky thing to do. Give God “elbow room”; let Him come into His universe as He pleases. If we confine God in His working to religious people or to certain ways, we place ourselves on an equality with God.
Is anyone else having internet connection issues?
God Bless America , 🙂
😔 Everything old is new again. A folk song reminder:
One more, easy listening with religious overtones.
High tide, low tide
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered!!!
Alive by Gods Grace : First man in my family to live past 50 thanks to a kidney transplant . The only fix for an inherited disorder PKD !
Within one hour after surgery the donated kidney was working at 100% !
I was raised with a strong faith and went through the challenges of doubt . Witnessed my father & cousin suffer and ultimately die from this problem and discovered I had it too ! Assuming it was the end and got a call regarding a transplant program . The light at the end of the tunnel !
I’m convinced the lord guided and saved me for a reason .
Someday that reason will arrive !
I try to encourage and mentor all the young people I can reach to strengthen there faith with helpful hints .
Some listen some don’t !
But I’m there …
Praise the Lord!
Bless you, Robert. So glad you are with us, and with us here🙏
Mornin’ comrade infidels.
2 Timothy 1:7
for God did not create in us a spirit of fear; but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Use the sound mind God gave you to tune out the fear-mongers!
I saved a screenshot of this. Sharon, who comments here with beautiful, thoughtful, expressive posts will understand…
“Learn to be done. Not mad, not bothered, just done. Protect your peace at all costs.”
It’s so important for our spiritual and mental health. Scripture helps me in this regard. Thank you for this, Rileytrips.
Yes.
Respond when possible. React as little as possible.
I like the simplicity of that line – “Learn to be done. Not mad, not bothered, just done. Protect your peace at all costs.”
I notice that when I slip into reacting, it’s usually tinged with anger, sarcasm, etc. Those things cost me more than they’re worth.
Once again the treehouse scores with another wise thread! Thanks Riley, Betsy, and Sharon. 😚 ❤️
Hope you have a peaceful night, Cat🤗💤
I’m so glad you saw this. I was remembering a post you made a week or so ago. And how right you are about anger, sarcasm, etc. I’m trying to guard against those as well. So I’ll keep this one on my phone and refer to it when I need a reminder. Bless, Sharon.
The Great American Songbook…………….the collaboration of Julie Styne and Sammy Cahn, gave us enduring classics.
In 458 B.C., a Greek play was first performed, the Agamemnon by Aeschylus. A new take on long standing Greek stories. Oddly enough, I can find tons of modern quotes attributed to this play.
Agamemnon Quotes by Aeschylus (goodreads.com)
But there is one I am interested in. This translation
Aeschylus – Agamemnon (Full Text) | Genius

CLYTEMNESTRA
I deem not that the death he died
Had overmuch of shame:
For this was he who did provide
Foul wrong unto his house and name:
His daughter, blossom of my womb,
He gave unto a deadly doom,
Iphigenia, child of tears!
And as he wrought, even so he fares.
Nor be his vaunt too loud in hell;
For by the sword his sin he wrought,
And by the sword himself is brought
Among the dead to dwell

Somewhere, I read that about half the translations have something similar. But I am having trouble re-finding that.
But I can say that I can’t find many of those modern quotes in this translation. “In war, the first casualty is truth.” Is out. ‘Casualty’ isn’t in it at all, and ‘truth’ can’t be found in that context. (But war sure is mentioned a lot.) But I may not have the right translation.
So here is my interest, what is the right order of appearance. Did ‘Live by the sword, die by the sword’ appear first in Mathew and get written into the play by translators, or was it first in the play, and was common wisdom ~500 years later in a Greek and Roman dominated area where Jesus paraphrased it to be more succinct?
I suppose, even if there are Greek manuscripts of the play with that in the text, one would still have to show that those manuscripts predate Mathew. Which is made easier by uncertainty of the exact early texts of the gospels, but made much more difficult by the fact that non gospel texts are extremely rare compared to gospel texts.
On the other hand, Nazareth is a small village a few miles from Sepphoris:

And as the link makes clear, while Jesus may never have been inside the city’s 3000 seat theater, he definitely knew the Greek term for actors that wear masks, hypocrites.
is there a way to make screen full size with rumble?
They don’t seem to have closed captioning either.
merrie, yesterday when I went to rumble from the CTH I could not get full screen. However, when I clicked on a link posted at the Freerepublic I could get full screen no problem. I’m assuming that we are talking about President Trump’s rally.
Yes, TRUMP rally. thank you next rally I’ll try freerepublic
You have to view whatever you’re trying to view ON Rumble.com. Sometimes an embedded frame of Rumble within another website (such as CTH but other sites used embedded instances of Rumble too) doesn’t always have all the features operational. I’m not sure where the issues lies – with the hosting website or with Rumble’s embed code itself.
Closed captioning can be added to any video by the content creator. Automatic closed captioning does not yet exist on Rumble that I have found. I HAVE used that feature on YouTube with varying results. Often it cannot keep up with the speaker and presents weird words that make no sense… and very choppy timing where sentences are disconnected or words are skipped altogether. I’m not a fan.
I do understand the need for some sort of functioning CC for deaf users. I guess you might contact Rumble directly and ask them about it. Maybe they are working on it.
This substack has an eye-opening video with slides, the talk “The Politicization of Gender: a theological expose of the genderbread ruse that is entrapping our children” and sure explains the push to invent so many different genders!

Dzien Dobry (good morning)
How is your move progressing?
How sweet of you to ask. More than you want to know, I am sure 🙂
We have a local Holiday Inn that became a Clarion Inn that was going to become a center for Veterans – fell thru. Apparently it has finally been purchased and is now Peak Extended Stay.
We are going to take what used to be a motel room and make it our home. We will have a pool and exercise room – maybe in the future they will repair the damaged hot tub and sauna.
We are faced with getting rid of ‘big things” like queen bed, desk & file cabinet etc. A longtime friend is going to ‘take’ what we won’t move. Take, as in to the trash or to The Youth Ranch or share with friends and relatives. He asked if we wanted $$. Answer – I’d have to PAY to have someone move it – find a good home for stuff – please.
I think the place will be ready for us mid week. And I have a storage unit lined up because we will need time to decide whether to keep or how to keep stuff we don’t want to part with yet.
The hard part is you have to fondle and feel each thing – like do we really need 12 boxes of bandaids? How about all those paperclips and labels? Ink Pens bought by the box. Then there are bottles and sprays of cleaning supplies.
So, there are bags of actual trash. Boxes for donation, boxes to move. In our 625 ft apartment we are running out of room to walk.
Other than that, things are proceeding to proceed. Each item that ‘goes’ makes it look easier and better.
Nights spent not sleeping are spent mentally wondering – how am I going to handle ‘that’?
We had a similar problem 20 yrs ago when we vacated our 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with finished (and used) basement. We put stuff in storage that we couldn’t fit into our 40 ft motor home (or sell, or give away). I think it took about a year to decide to sell what was in storage.
What you have to decide is that you are NOT going to set up a home or an apartment ever again – so you don’t NEED all the extra stuff you have.
I know, contrary to the advice to ‘stock up’, which we did. The extra food and stuff can go into storage.
Other than that, I have to try to ration our time so as not too get my dear hubby over center. The good thing is this space is a lot smaller than our house was, so less places to ‘hide’ things. Less ‘stuff’ to deal with. We will be ‘living’ in a space not much bigger than our present bedroom. Shoe horn, anyone?
You and Elon Musk. I envy you your lightness. We have crap dating to the civil war and back further in one case from both sides of family. It would take libraries and museams to house our stuff.
Know what you mean. When we began full time RVing (got out of our house) we gave lots of beautiful art – paintings – to the local library. Tons of books, too.
I had a large collection of music – old 33 1/3, tapes, cds – spent hours converting them to mp3 files. And the same with photos – scanner was very busy.
began scanning documents and tax info to computer files.
Any treasure I wanted to have with me that could be ‘computerized’ was …
Problem was, as I discovered when we became land lubbers again, that motor home had a place for everything. Unbelievable storage everywhere. Had a real problem getting into a 2 bedroom apartment and setting up good space so I could keep running my business. Had to use storage for a couple of years.
Sigh – all that ‘stuff’ really does own you. Demands that you keep it up and safe, too.
Now this is really sick!
“Save The Children” Chooses Climate Virtue Signalling Over Feeding Hungry Kids – Watts Up With That?
Climate change is the biggest hoax ever perpetrated on the planet.
Barack Hussein, CRT, the 2020 selection, transnonsense, bio-labs, etc are running a close second.
rah, what is your take on Jim Webb article in WSJ concerning downsizing US Marine Corps? AND your take on videos posted on Gateway Pundit showing soldiers being shot in kneecaps???
Haven’t seen either.
well, look. shooting prisoners in kneecaps is really bad.
Took their cue from the Troubles in Northern Ireland. Punishment shootings. This is grotesque.
It used to be said the best place orthopaedist could be trained was in Belfast.

Are we having fun yet?

A student in Cold-Weather Operations Course (CWOC) class 22-03 participates in cold-water immersion training Jan. 31, 2022, at Big Sandy Lake on South Post at Fort McCoy, Wis. The training event is the final training event before graduating from the CWOC. CWOC students are trained on a variety of cold-weather subjects, including snowshoe training and skiing as well as how to use other gear. Training also focuses on terrain and weather analysis, risk management, cold-weather clothing, developing winter fighting positions in the field, camouflage and concealment, and numerous other areas that are important to know in order to operate in a cold-weather environment. The training is coordinated through the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security at Fort McCoy with support from contractor Veterans Range Solutions. (U.S. Army Photo by Scott T. And when I wake dear Lord I pray
Bless and guide me through the day.

Amen.
FWIW – I just received a refund to my card from Give Send Go for the (Canadian Truckers) Freedom Convoy 2022 donation that I made back in early February. So GSG are keeping their word. The refund was short 3.5% which I assume was the charge card company’s original transaction fee.
Glad to hear that report. Had not it heard from any other source
Me neither, Ms Idaho. That’s why I thought it worthy to post.
Glad you got it, GB. A shameful act by a shameful organization. I see the truckers here are using some of the funds they’ve received to feed the homeless in DC. God please bless them all. Tremendous, patriotic, big hearted men.
Betsy, Give Send Go is apparently an honorable organization. It’s Go Fund Me that’s the shameful one.
✝️ Lord, thank You for the day. Amen.
