My boss keeps pushing our IT infrastructure out to “the cloud.” (The cloud is not magical — it’s renting time/space from a vendor over the internet. That’s it. That’s ALL!)
One cyber attack like that and the business is 100% shut down. Normally, we could work around not having email. We’d still get our work done and production needs met.
But now, all of our phones are over the internet (not that they weren’t already… almost all calls pass through the internet at some point) as is a big portion of our business services and data.
I’ve tried to speak out against this for good reasons but “other businesses do this and it works really well for them!”

Yes. The “cloud” is sold to technologically lowish-info company executives who have multiple locations as a way to have employees from anywhere instantly access and update the info they need and use. Even online customer transactions.
So instead of having your own file servers and web servers, you “save on hardware and tech costs” as well as not having to maintain your own data input center by buying what essentially is a little piece of someone else’s vast network. Sure, it might have some advantages but it’s always seemed to me to be extremely risky.
“The cloud” is sold on a smaller scale with people’s smart phones. No need or even convenient way to just back up and keep your own data. Nope… lose the phone and it’s still all “there” in the “cloud”. People feel free to keep their lives, all contacts, emails, important data on their phones and have allowed themselves to be rendered extremely vulnerable.
The government also has bought into the sales job on this by tying agencies together. Heaven forbid one agency might need to physically inquire for information from another. Like the bureaucrats respond anyway with urgency?

Fauci Hold Patents on a Key HIV Component Used to Create COVID-19

Why does Dr. Anthony Fauci’s name appear on 4 U.S. patents for a key glycoprotein that appears to have been inserted into a SARS virus chassis to create the current COVID-19 epidemic?
The legal portal Justia.com lists the following “patents by inventor Anthony S. Fauci” involving a glycoprotein found in the HIV-1, a disease that attacks the human immune system, leading to the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, more commonly known as AIDS. In 1990, Fauci held the same position at the NIH that he holds today. Fauci made his mark around the anti-viral medications that were developed by Big Pharma to combat the AIDS epidemic raging at that time.
This same glycoprotein, identified as Glycoprotein 120, or simply as GP120, has also been found to be a key component of the current COVID-19, a disease that appears to combine a HIV-1 attack on the human immune system, with SARS CoV-1, the pathogen from the original SARS (“Severe Acute Respiratory System”) that created an international pandemic in 2002-2003. The pathogen in COVID-19 is named SARS CoV-2 in medical scientific literature.
