If I knew then what I know now, I would not have served. A functioning society requires trust. As Sundance pointed out a few days ago, that initial trust, once stripped away, never really returns to the same level. There may be a modicum of trust but there is also skepticism and suspicion too.
The main benefit of humanity to the untrustworthy is mortality, meaning fresh minds are born every second and can be molded by the lies and deception and the old minds of the untrusting die with their bodies and the cycle repeats endlessly. Because we are human we are destined to repeat history. Our mortality guarantees it.
The only government I will beginning to even think about too trusting again, returns to legitimate elections at all locations and levels and is about 10% the size of our current one.
I figure a government at about 1/10th its current capacity will be forced to focus on the narrow range of activities it is really a last resort able to do more effectively than the free markets or local governments. The Federal government will be nearly 100% focused at protecting our borders and making sure no nation wants to mess with us.

Regarding the left’s efforts to enable election cheating through mail in ballots, drop boxes and whatever else they dream up, I have a suggestion. Per the Constitution, let (blue) States conduct elections in a manner they choose. However, election law on a Federal level should require full forensic audits of all paper ballots (not images) using state of the art methods, including the kinetic artifact method. The audit should ensure that votes from dead people, non-citizens, counterfeit ballots, duplicate ballots, machine filled ballots, etc. are removed prior to certifying results.
Knowing that cheating can and will be detected should deter them a little.
If we gain control again we need to get this done.
Also actually enforce the Presidential Election Act of 1845 and associated Constitutional Amendments (the 17th) as well as updates to the Act, related to aligning Congressional Election DATES with the day set by this act to elect the President. ALL extensions to presidential and congressional election dates ARE ILLEGAL unless Congress legislates changes. To date NO changes have been legislated, to include 2020 to address the China Bio-Weapon attack.
States cannot over ride this law., with respect to date of Federal elections.

Even worse is that not a single one of the “Great Legal” brains challenging the 2020 elections even bother to raise this point of FEDERAL Law, which the Courts would have had to address. Instead they pursued violations to State Level Law, which the Supreme Court Justices could slow roll ALL day simply citing ALL process remedies have not been exhausted as happened in Every Case.
The Voting Act of 1845 is FEDERAL LAW, which could not be ignored. Not saying the results would have different with respect to overturning the election but the courts would had to address the charge.
By the way the violation of this FEDERAL LAW also invalidates ALL Congressional Elections conducted on the 2020 ballot as well as the 2018 Mid-Terms. Another part of the poison pill contained in the deal made between the RNC and DNC to remove President Trump.
Thanks for addressing this. It’s a huge pet peeve of mine. The tweaking, manipulation and changing of the actual election laws and negating Election Day are really maddening. They should be prosecuted, but of course no one on the Republican side says a word. They obviously want the changes too.
So we are being forced into an Election Day that lasts anywhere from weeks before and weeks after the actual date of Election Day and allowing Mail in balloting which is disallowed in other countries because it’s so ripe for fraud.
e.g. Hochul in NY will sign a law stating everyone can vote via Mail in ballots and she’s not the first nor will be the last. It’s just nuts that the country with the free elections written into their Constitution now has one of the most corrupted election systems in the world.
Why aren’t we the people madder about this?
As President Trump stated, it’s Election DAY. Not days. Not weeks. And the results must be audited upon request.
So what the hell is taking so long?

Around 15 years ago I was paying attention to Catherine Austin Fitts. She had a story to tell, I wasn’t prepared to evaluate it, or her urgings to those of us who have been listening to alternative-to-establishment POV as a centrist liberal for awhile. But I didn’t forgot what she said. Then I got to know my now-husband, who “admitted” he was a Republican on our 3rd date & was surprised it didn’t shoo me away. I couldn’t figure out why he thought that way, then I began listening & viewing from his POV. Yup, I get it. Once seen it can’t be unseen. At present, an awful lot of what I always considered fall squarely on what is today considered conservative, and I have changed my mind about some key issues.
How surprised I am to see this conservative & patriotic personality espouse almost exactly what Ms. Fitts did all those years ago sans the phrase we all know now, TGR. check it out, I smiled, and hope it makes you smile:
