This is an interesting angle to elections having consequences. Apparently, the ultra-wealthy and affluent in Beverly Hills are rushing to purchase firearms at a jaw-dropping rate as they no longer feel safe. It’s worth reading the whole article.
[Beverly Hills] – In Beverly Hills, even the purchase of a firearm comes with certain…expectations. The city’s only gun store, Beverly Hills Guns, is a “concierge service” by appointment only, for a largely affluent clientele. And business is booming.
Since opening in July 2020, the store has seen upscale residents from Santa Monica to the Hollywood Hills increasingly in a panic following several high-profile smash-and-grab and violent home invasion robberies. The apparent siege has brought in a daily stream of anxious business owners and prominent actors, real estate moguls and film execs, says owner Russell Stuart. Most are arming themselves for the first time.
“This morning I sold six shotguns in about an hour to people that say, ‘I want a home defense shotgun,’” says Stuart, whose store is discreetly located in a Beverly Hills office building, with no sign on the doors, down the hall from a diamond dealer. “Everyone has a general sense of constant fear, which is very sad. We’re used to this being like Mayberry.” (read more)
Funny how that happens…
Keep in mind, this is the epicenter of the West Coast donor base for the DNC.
Shotgun for home defense? Do you know how much a kitchen remodel costs?
Vista view windows – 20k per blast.
Pick something that can be aimed.
It is my understanding that has been an influx of newly arrived Hattians that they can probably house by installing bunk beds in the servants quarters. Room and board and they can probably be had for a song and dance to serve as on site for security.
They will have inserted themselves into the long-standing issue of affordable housing while showing that the neighborhood is now fully integrated.
This is a totally woke solution.
It’s probably not the Haitians they have to worry about. I have a pretty good idea about that. They’re usually pretty strict and devout people.
This would be more in line with people that are born in the US.
OK here is my second offer as a solution.
Every house fly a Trump flag. This will immediately strike fear into the hearts of criminals. They know from Juicy that as soon as you enter MAGA country in Chicago that the nooses come out. While there is no known result from entering MAGA country in California, sometimes the fear of the unknown can be even scarier.
Garlic is to vampires what Trump flags are to criminals.
Don’t know about Califonia but the Haitians I know in FL (pretty much all the Islanders) are more in line with us. It also depends on where you live I suppose. You hang a don’t tread on me or Trump flag that may let criminals know you have guns. I remember that story going around several years ago. Some see it as a warning, some as an invitation. I guess know your surroundings. I would NOT hang either of those flags in Chicago for example.
Oh gosh, it is not a serious post, I am not bagging on Hattians. I am combining multiple known issues to create humor. It is the thought of a Hattian moving from poor housing conditions to a highly affluent zip code. It would be like Disneyland.
I know, wasn’t trying to insinuate that. Apologies if I came across that way.
Everyone has their own interpretations of what other people write. Happens all day long. While just the other day I was posting, minding my own business…
Hey Luke, have you ever heard of the Zoe Pound gang in S. Florida?? Model Citizens/S
Wake up, Bert! The language in Haiti is French aka one of the most difficult languages on the planet and they are Christians. I know, I’m a translator.
Beware of those coming in from Mexico because many terror groups went through Spain then migrated to Mexico et al to learn Spanish, married, paid to change their name.
You are trying to give credit when none is due. Whatever country you grow up in, that language spoken is your primary language. Do you give people who grow up in France extra credit because they speak French?
For those not growing up in an English-speaking country, English is considered a difficult language to learn.
If I recall correctly from South Florida, they also love their welfare on our dime.
It’s amazing how many 20 year old Haitians have Social Security Disability and my 60 year old wife after open heart surgery was denied! LOL
You know who else I suspect gets put on Social Security Disability?
Those real ‘trouble’ students, probably get put on it right out of high school, with social services believing they’ll never be able to hold a job
The real, real surly ones – the ones that get labelled with “willful defiant disorder”
(it’s a diagnosis, look it up)
If anyone is in school administration and knows the answer to my suspicion, pls lemme know
I used to manage a group home that had convicts that were supposed to transitioning to life outside. Every one of them is placed on SSI, as it is presumed that they suffer from PTSD. Of course, some of the prison horror stories some of the convicts shared suggest that they might REALLY have PTSD…
Most of them don’t have PTSD. The state officials have just accepted the likelihood that they are never going to go out and get jobs. The rationale is that maybe welfare checks will keep them from committing new crimes, but the reality is that the SSI is used to buy drugs and they commit new crimes anyway for more drugs and other expenses.
They just waltz across the border and JoBama sends them into our communities and our wallets.
Leftist dems run the human trafficking operations, and tell us that these so called “immigrants” make America great.
Haitians are more into ID theft, credit card fraud and account takeovers although some of the younger ones born here are becoming more violent. The initial immigrants were fairly tame.
Yeah agree it’s usually the people who are born here that are the biggest pain. Our system obviously has much to do with it. Lol that’s where I go back to the white liberals. But it’s really Libs in general, that’s why I love this story.
So, Brandons open border policy really IS an attempt to improve America, by bringing in all these new (illegal) immigrants, to dilute the population of pesky “born here” types,…
got it/s
Indeed – I wonder what comes next, AND how to end it. I remember seeing a documentary that referred to ‘propaganda by the deed’ and wonder, hmm…. what would that look like today? I am of course referring to the non-violent kind.
Real immigrants came here LEGALLY and were vetted.
IMO The steady flow of illegal aliens decade after decade has about ruined the US.
Mission accomplished.

10 kids….one mom and 10 dads. I get it…
A shotgun pattern at 7 to 10 yards is just inches. Trust me — you have to aim the shotgun. The advantage of using a shotgun is the variety of possible loads. For indoor use, it is wise to pick loads that will not over-penetrate; i.e., go through walls.
I just can’t imagine the kind of damage a shotgun could do to a SubZero fridge.
Drywall will stop bird shot, but my preference goes to a 38 revolver for indoor use.
My choice for home protection is a 12-gauge shot gun. You don’t have to have Kyle Rittenhouse pin-point accuracy to be effective. Under stress and chaos. A hand-gun revolver is the least reliable.
Fangdog,
these are NOT people like you and others, who delight in discussing/debating the best guns and ammo, for self defence.
These are idiots who love Biden and Fauci,…and hate Trump.
Idiots like Baldwin, who have,, and probably at least 1/2, will not get ANY gun training.
“I STAND BEHIND Alec Baldwin, 100 percent!,..you’d have to be suicidal, to do otherwise!”
Watch for stories of spousicide, as they come home late at nite,,are “sneaking in” so as not to wake anyone,…bam.
These are the same idiots who think guns shoot themselves, without any human input.
The lefties are just following Biden’s orders.
… looks like Alison Nathan with Joe there at that table
(see the Ghislaine Maxwell thread, p. 2, photo of the judge 3/4 down the page)
Back in the 1970’s, My date and I stopped by the house. She saw the guns on the rack and asked to shoot one as she had never shot a gun before. I chose the Auto 5, gold trigger, 20 GA, modified choke. My personal gun.
I taught her about the safety, practiced looking inside to check for a round in the chamber and went over the rules about the trigger, pointing downrange and everything else. We went outside. I handed her the gun and she immediately pulled back the bolt to see if it was loaded. She kept it pointing down range. I showed her how to press the butt into her shoulder and warned her that it was going to punch her shoulder harder that she thought. She said she was ready.
I handed her a shell, she shoved it in the tube and racked it into the chamber just as taught. She held the gun properly and raised it in an approximate wing shot position. She pressed the safety off with her trigger finger and pulled off the round. She looked at the gun and then at me and said, “Let me do it again!”
I thought, “This is a keeper.”
The sad part- all of those women in that video are being set up to seriously hurt or even kill someone. A compilation on how not to shoot a gun. You don’t let someone shoot without explaining to them what will happen when you pull that trigger. Each type of gun kicks differently…
That girl who fell while still pulling the trigger two more times…lucky she fell straight back and didn’t shift weight to her right—-the camera guy and his friend wouldn’t be very happy.
My first thoughts as well with every one of those videos.
That weapon falls uncontrolled out of the hands of most of those women.
As if that POS has ever had to worry about protecting himself and his family. The political elites always have protection.
Better behind Baldwin than before him, he can’t shoot you if you’re behind him.
I don’t think Hollywood needs any guns. Snowflakes are going to hurt themselves or their own families.
A little Karma.
“A hand-gun revolver is the least reliable”
Not really.
38/357 is plenty lethal. 38 Special with 158 gr bullet is not a bad choice close up, 357 magnum with the right load is more lethal for much farther.
I am no fan of 9mm auto, spray and prey. (Collateral damage)
Good bullet placement is essential.
A typical .357 magnum bullet is still traveling more than 1,000 feet per second at 100 yards.
A 12 gauge shotgun is an excellent choice for home defense. Choice of cartridge is relevant to the number of lead balls inside the shotshell you want to “spread” to eliminate the threat breaking into your house.
OO “Double Ought” buckshot used in a 12 Gauge shotgun delivers nine lead balls, each one the diameter of a 9 mm pistol bullet, in a spread pattern.
Have you ever shot a hand gun at 100 yard target? I have a 221 fireball that is a tack driver out to 300 yards.
I’m 74, have reloaded since my childhood. Got my first 20 ga shotsgun at 12. Hunted with the men from then on.
Don’t kid yourself. A 158 gr 357 Magnum at 1000 fps (if you can hit at 100 yards) is lethal.
I have an H&K P30L – 9MM…use Federal 147gr HP!!! Works as intended…I did ballistic testing with dummy and measured a room out…It gets the job done as intended!!!!
A handgun is for protection until you can get to your battle rifle.
Whaaaaat? My S&W 625 .45 ACP goes bang every time!
I’m with you on this.. shotgun will hit maybe more than one.. pistol is fine if you’re awake and have time to aim etc…
🇺🇸💪👍
If there is a break-in at your house, possibly life threatening, do you really care about the SubZero? Your aim doesn’t have to be as accurate with a shotgun…
this is my 12ga with 00buck at 5 yds…you most certainly have to aim
[1-E8584-D0-1820-4-B40-AD80-9250089-B99-C2.jpg](https://postimg.cc/xkmC1hVS)
.45ACP for indoor work, El
concur – especially if you have lead ball rounds.
I like my Colt 45 (Military)…goes off like a shotgun but makes one nasty on the individual…in closed spaces, and yes I have done INDOOR training for room cleaning, and I just like the KICK of the damn thing….THAT IS ALL!!!!!!
you point a shotgun,
you aim a rifle.
😏
People who say you don’t need to aim a shotgun . Have never been bird hunting.
i have been bird hunting, many times, upland and waterfowl.
and fyi, i’m a terrible shot –
so your comment is well taken. 😂😁
enjoy your evening, BWF!
My father-in-law was a 1000 Yard Marksman, WWII veteran and could not shoot a shotgun. A friend and I were dove hunting on his place and we saw him miss several easy shots and were quite surprised as we knew how good he was with a rifle. At the end of the day after cleaning the birds, my friend was teasing him a bit about the shooting skills. About that time, two doves lit on a power line about 100 yards from the house.
He went in and got his Browning .22 auto, the one he kept loaded with shorts. He took a rest against the corner of the garage and dropped one of the doves. While the second one was wondering what happened, he dropped that one. He said he shot them through the neck to make it harder and we sort of chuckled. We went to pick them up and both had been shot through the neck. We had two more birds to dress.
wow, thanks for posting that!
great remembrance of a great man.
(and there is much comfort in the moral of the story!😉😁)
The war ended while he was on a troop ship on the way to Germany. He served out his enlistment in the occupation force. He said he drove a jeep for an officer. Many years later, a family member with connections tried to look at his service record and it was sealed tight. Knowing the officer’s name that he “drove” for, they looked for that. Sealed tight. He made a few more inquiries and was told to stop looking. He did.
Patton?
no matter what, WOW!
these accounts are so interesting.
while they were notoriously tight lipped during their lifetimes,
the stories behind so many of our WWII vets would just stop us in our tracks.
every peek into their lives and service is a privilege.
glad you, among others honored to be the repositories of these histories,
are here to remind us!
This thread up to now has been both an eye-opener and entertainment…Tango Yankee All!!!!
I’ve shot sporting clays for years. You don’t aim a shotgun. you point. I’ve had lessons from top shooters around the world. You use your index finger on the forestock and point.
It is a natural transition from a BB gun as a child to a shotgun. I put so many bb’s through that gun that I will never forget shooting a bird in flight with it. When I borrowed my neighbors shotgun(3in 12guage) it was like an insanely powerful BB gun. One box of shells and my shoulder was black for a week.
The first time I hunted Doves, I assumed that with a shotgun, I’d NEVER miss. LOL
A kitchen remodel? Seriously?
Remember, you are talking about wankers that have Waaay to much disposable money.
I’d like to be in the …front row..to watch them confront a burgler.
Morons….
Police recommend you practice dialing 911.
With an intruder in the house you’ll be shaking too much to even do that.
Actually most are so under staffed they tell you to report the crime at the station, they are not sending anyone out. You are on your own, and these people understand that, finally. This has actually been the trend for several years, in many cities, and it is getting much worse with the new Nazi’s who illegitimately took over the White House.
My guess is that Nitwit Tehran Nan-Xi’s new Capitol Police detail plans in California and Florida are being added because of the criminal climate they purposefully created. Of course, spying on one’s political “enemies”, intimidating and harassing them will just be a sweet side benefit.
And we all know, according to Nitwit Tehran Nan-Xi, we have no right to know what their “elite” force is doing. Allegedly we have no right to any transparency with this MOB of THUGS.
OAN’s chyron running right now says NY is having record gun sales. After the jackboots began arresting non-vaxxed this past week for eating out in NYC, I’d probably go buy a gun too.
They will probably use low brass #8 shot and be surprised when they don’t stop coming.
Federal Flite Control 12 ga. OO buck. Best there is. Walking point my favorite weapon was a shotgun.
But an AR variant is for those evil, right wing Trumpkins. They’re too scared to use one of those “machine guns”.
Then, the ultra-rich Californicators would have to be able to hit something…
They’re just listening to Joe Biden. biden use a shotgun – Bing video
Any long gun is much easier to aim than a pistol.
If they have never handled or used a gun then targeting would be difficult. Besides they have the green fold to repair and replace.
Most won’t know which end of the shot gun to point….and also trigger control, site aquitition, periperial distractions…so forth and so on….WOWZA!!!!!!
Yes, a “home defense shotgun” sounds so much more civilized and signals that they were forced to make the purchase, rather than simply wanting to buy a gun for schiffs and giggles like all them thar rednecks in flyover country.
An home instrusion, the last thing I care about is damage to my china cabinet.
The thing is, he didn’t just say “Lets go Brandon”, he had to add “I AGREE”, its the “I agree” that really makes it!

“Everyone has a general sense of constant fear, which is very sad. We’re used to this being like Mayberry.”
Oh, that’s just great. A few thousand elite ignorant knotheads are now going to be armed–and they are fearful on top of it.
They are just disgusting…at all levels.
Agreed. They will end up shooting the gardener.
Or their cinematographer.
Or their eye out
The Clampetts are the only family qualified to handle any firearms.
yeah, at least they get some practice, shootin’ ducks down to the cee-ment pond
good point. In fact they could watch the episode where Jed and Jethro go shooting golfs’ true gun control.
Hilarious is it not!!! LMAO, white liberals far and above are the worst. Well they’re not as bad as the full blown Commies but they are the idiots who pretend they live an alternate reality. I know this to be true as well. Let them swallow those red pills. They are really the ones who have caused most of the problems out of their stupidity alone. I love stories like this.
They have been sheltered for far too long. The rest of LA was teeming with gangs and drugs and killings. They could walk their dogs at night without looking over their shoulders. Now, they’ve been brought in line with the rest of the city.
BH is loaded with drugs…
Yup. But not the violence that goes with it. Well, not until now. Maybe they’ll become Boyle Heights West or Compton North.
IMO They support the anarchists. I think the anarchists should burn down Hollywood, regularly just to be fair.
They need to see the real world and live in the society that they’ve supported.
Turn Hollyweird into Compton.
The good news, they cull their useless herd.
It couldn’t happen to a better bunch of idiots.
Yup, they never had to suffer the consequences of the idiotic policies they supported. I don’t typically like to see people in bad situations, but in this situation…. I can’t help myself.
Will they be able to pull the trigger to protect their lives and property? Or will their firearms merely function as pacifiers?
And if they kill or wound a nonwhite intruder, will they be ostracized by the woke elite? Sued into oblivion?
I await further entertaining developments….
I hope the lawn care staff are all wearing plate carriers.
I hope they don’t all buy those kinds of guns (like Baldwin’s) that just go off by themselves, without the trigger ever being pulled. That would be awful.
Depends on who is would be in front of the Baldwin wannabe. Just Saying
I keep thinking of the other picture SD posts on occasion…”Fireworks, I love Fireworks!”
The worst people possible to be in possession of firearms. But, I guess if they are buying ’em from a concierge, they are being trained in proper care and handling. /s
Hi there!…hope you and the family are doing well….we survive into another year…..
Just need to add a new tag line: “Firearms! I love firearms!”
I think you might see some news blurbs about dead and injured maids and nannies in the coming months.
There were several Pro Trump rallies in BH and one I went to in Danville, CA. Ironically, the super affluent towns are one of the few places in California that are physically safe because the local police are still beholden to the populace and can be counted on to roust the counter demonstrators. They are red islands in a sea of blue. In Oakland or LA, the cops will just do what the Pro Obama mayor tells them to do which is coddle the viberant liberals and punish the whites. Based on outward appearances it would seem that there are no Republicans in California but I think that 3 out of every 10 adults are Conservative. A minority for sure, we still amount to 10 million affluent people walking around in plain sight. When ever my pro Trump buddies get together it is almost like we are having a banned clandestine meeting. It makes the friendships tighter and and the company better.
Other wise peaceful BLM protest, they are still virtual signalling
“The security business is experiencing a rebound after a couple of diminished years because of the pandemic. Some firms had their on-site security guards sent home for health and social distancing reasons. Not anymore.
In Beverly Hills, the craving for additional security dates to the riot that followed an otherwise peaceful Black Lives Matter protest in May 2020
, with unprecedented looting along Rodeo Drive that left broken boutique windows beneath beloved luxury brands: Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Michael Kors, MCM, Ermenegildo Zegna.
Last March, a $500,000 Richard Mille watch was stolen at gunpoint from a diner at the Il Pastaio restaurant. The Dec. 1 home-invasion robbery and shooting death of philanthropist Jacqueline Avant, 81, in her Trousdale Estates home, only accelerated the arms race among the affluent.”
How pathetically empty is one’s life if a $500,000 bauble is necessary? Not to mention it was apparently flaunted.
They’re hideous imo, gaudy and tacky. Anyone paying $500k for one got ripped off, bigly…
Apparently there are quite a few on ebay for sale. Who knew?!?!?! https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1313&_nkw=Richard+Mille+watches&_sacat=0
WWWWWWWOW!
And these people think we need to pay more in taxes.
While they find unique ways to blow through vaaaaast sums of money on trinkets!
And save any thin dime in taxes possible via the best accountants in the world….
Upmarket indeed, while picking out your weapon, we cans also supply pizza and hotdog, some of hunters best art is available to view upon request, pre- packed hunter whit is available for the discerning customer!
Catalogs of all merchandise is available in our Clinton presidential museum.
Hubris has a way of kicking you back … the peasants aren’t too thrilled with Nancy’s pricey ice cream fixation … or the arrogance of the other self-identified elite.
Of course, when the peasants revolt, it’ll be too late.
Suddenly, the 2nd Amendment means something important. I’m not going to fall into the trap of criticizing the Beverly Hills folk who recognize the need to arm themselves. Instead, I welcome them. Reality bites and the LA government has basically sided with the criminals. Private citizens have to be ready to defend themselves because the cops ain’t commin’.
The problem is that these people will never defend YOUR right to defend yourself, just theirs. So regardless, they will never be on our side.
( See NYC for example ).
Baby El: Beverly Hills, although surrounded by Los Angeles, is a separate city, with its own police force. Beverly Hills, unlike Los Angeles, has no “vax mandate” for restaurants.” Beverly Hills does not tolerate the outright lawlessness and rampant homelessness that Los Angeles cheers.
As with Garrison Hall, above, I view the lawful taking up of arms by Beverly Hills citizens as a good thing. The Second Amendment does not discriminate.
Exactly. I don’t care if they’re rich. Don’t care if they voted for Biden. What’s fundamentally important is that they have recognized that they have to be responsible for taking charge and defending themselves. When the chips are down politics don’t matter all that much. Those people buying shotguns for the first time in their lives have suddenly been confronted by reality. Let’s hope that when the bad guys come for them, they’ll be ready.
Maybe they can get Keanu Reeves to hook them up with Taran Tactical for some training.
Its more nuanced than that. I recall a Catrina story; an anti-gun do gooder was driving to get bottled water, as he and family, and a few neighbors were “hunkering down”, to protect their french quarter neighborhood, after.
Saw a couple by a apperently broke down car, stopped to help.
While she distracted him, he came up behind, and hit him over the head, and they stole his van.
When he got home, he got grandpas gun and ammo, out of the attic. He and neighbors hooked up car batteries, with headlights, on porches at each end of the street, strung cans across the street, and ARMED, slept on the porches at nite.
Sure enough, one nitevthe cans sounded the alarm, they turned on the lights, and a gangvof hoodlums was coming in, to loot.
They yelled at them to leave, the gang yelled,..imprecations and kept coming. They fired several shots, the gang split, and the next day they heard a 20 y.o guy was found dead of a gunshot wound, several blocks away, and the guy said he slept fine at nite.
So, a good 2A conversion,…
On the OTHER hand, my sister and hubby are libtards. In 2012 She stumbled on a website, the homepage was picturesvof children, all allegedly killed with the dreaded “SEMI-AUTOMATIC GUNS”,..she proceeded to write a letter to mayor, city council, Gov, State legislature, Senate, House of Reps and POTUS, urging themvto BAN semi-automatics.
Having NO idea which guns ARE semi-automatics.
Later, another letter writing campaign, on the “Gun Show Loophole”, again with little idea what it actually IS.
In 2015, a wartime buddy of her husband, vietnam war infantryman, died and leftvhim a Colt .45, with paperwork showing, by serial # it was fromvthe first batch, made in 1915, for the marines, IIRC.
They wanted to sell it, had an offer for $800. I urged them to have it appraised, first (at least) .
Then, PDJT got elected, and there were (later discredited) stories of MAGA hat wearing people, assaulting people, etc.
They decided to keep the gun, and he took it out and cleaned it, and she TALKED about (but never followed up on) getting shooting lessons.
My pointing out to her that it was a semi automatic, and they owned it, without it being registered, as a result of the “gun show loophole” fell on deaf ears.
Its now back in the safe, and I doubt either has thought about it, in over a year.
If emotionally triggered, she would probably “become active” in supporting gun legislation, again.
There just ain’t no cure for stupid…
Dutchman, if you see this……
That is an EXTREMELY valuable pistol. WAAAaaaaay more than $800 in value.
Swap them a good revolver so they don’t have the BURDEN of having an eeeeeevil semi-auto.
Depending on condition, you’d be shocked at what that pistol would bring.
And I do mean shocked.
Some of those will bring from a few grand to tens of grands…..and GET it.
Libtards and their lack of historical knowledge. That gun would be worth a small fortune.
They’re arming themselves because they know the unwashed are ticked off and their policies have created chaos that will soon affect them, not because they had a change of heart and are supporters of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Hmm…Wonder if Alec Baldwin was one of the customers…
If you start at the beach in Santa Monica and take Wilshire Blvd or Sunset Blvd inland you pass through Santa Monica, UCLA/ Brentwood, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Hollywood Hills area and then before you know it you are in South Central L.A., near USC.
It really is just a hop, skip and a jump except traffic slows you down, from wealth and wonder, to poverty and city life at its grimmest reality.
I am surprised Beverly Hills homeowners want guns, I would think they have police protection, but I guess L.A. is getting worse.
I lived in West Hollywood for awhile in the 70’s and it was fine. I went to school at USC and it was a dangerous neighborhood then.
I grew up in a little blue collar town called El Segundo, named for an oil refinery, tucked behind L.A. Airport and the beach.
In the 60’s, there were the Watts riots and I remember our neighbor showing his young daughters how to use a gun, which shocked my childhood self, if trouble came to our town.
It never did but it seems that was the start of unrest, way back then.
In 2007
I was fortunate to be allowed as a “ ride along “
in an L.A. police helicopter.
We were in the air for something like 2 1/2 hours.
The pilot and navigator were terrific.
We responded to several calls for service, including a residential B n E where the crew located the suspect.
A shooting that ended in being a homicide
In addition to many routine calls traffic incidents etc.
Interesting was an understatement.
From the beaches of Baywatch, to mansions of the rich and famous.
Some so secluded they were accessed primarily by helicopter.
To the South..where the pilot said to me over the headphones. “ do you know what I am doing when I retire “ I shrugged.
He pointed below to what looked like mile after mile of homes, garages, sheds and vehicles that were covered in blue tarp.
I am going to open a blue tarp store he said, and laughed.
What a contrast..South Central was a “ sh*t hole” from the air. Goodness knows what living there is like.
Cheers to all.
Dekester: I once “called in” my own LAPD helicopter, in response to a rukus I overhead in the alleyway behind my office building. Within minutes of my call, a chopper was circling overhead. With all the LA traffic and the distances to be covered (LAPD West LA Division, LA’s largest, by geography, covers 65 square miles!), it’s often quicker for a chopper to respond than a patrol car. The chopper sets up a good overwatch while the patrol cars zero in and block off the areas around an incident.
I must see an LAPD chopper going over my place a dozen times a day, often circling in over my neighborhood. It’s routine. Of course, LA’s skies are usually swarming with helicopters–news, film, traffic; even the military has been flying regular routes, weekdays, for years, now.
Choppers used to be called “ghetto birds”,…back in the day. Now I guess they are “city birds”,…”metro birds”?
SOoo glad I got out of the city!
Ice Cube had a song about Ghetto Birds..
I always think of Pink Floyd’s “Pigs on the wing.” LOL.
It really is some city.
Nice place for a quick visit, and one not to be forgotten.
I can’t see me returning anytime soon, we honeymooned in San Francisco in the late eighties.
We drove all the way from Vancouver British Columbia, we had a great time ( as one would hope) sad that we won’t likely be back there again either.
All the best.
Spent a year in El Segundo as a kid.
George Brett’s hometown.
I walked everywhere, with no worries, back in ‘76.
I remember the street parade on July 4th.
And the fly overs from LAX. Planes always coming in or going out.
Great town back then
Hey Ackman! Yes, I guess El Segundo is a great little town , surrounded by Los Angeles. I’m not there anymore but it was a fun place to grow up as a kid. We walked everywhere too.Everyone knew each other from Kindergarten through High School.
George Brett and his brother Kemer were baseball high school stars. Roy Saari was an Olympic swimmer. El Porto was our beach. Beach Boys were the local band made good from Hawthorne, next door. We had to go to Westchester for the movie theater.
The noise of L.A. Airport as it got bigger and bigger was the main drawback, I agree.
lindak: LA’s Westside, including the areas you mentioned, is experiencing a huge increase in break-ins, thefts, burglaries, etc. Separation by distance between the “bad” parts of LA and “good” parts no longer means much.
Also, last year’s riots (actual riots) in the center of Beverly Hills shopping district really spooked people, for good reason. You should see all the surveillance cameras that have sprouted in Bev Hills, not only in the commercial areas, but, at the entrance to immediately adjacent residential areas. Every single intersectdion.
Beverly Hills simply cannot afford to take the political and economic hit of repeated, highly publicized crime incident within its borders. Local businesses and residents won’t stand for it.
I can take this story back a lot farther. Born (1946) and raised in the Maywood/Bell part of East LA. Okies and Arkies who had fled the Dust Bowl. Rednecks like my parents, fleeing the Depression era Deep South for the promised land. A few Japanese, Mexicans, and Blacks. An impoverished and very, very violent community. My mom worked in the heart of Watts (on Broadway, a few blocks north of Florence), and in contrast that neighborhood was completely safe. Families were intact. Fathers worked (and typically drove to work) while mothers stayed home and raised the kids. This was 1955 or so, when Watts was predominantly Black but by no means exclusively so. In the next decade, Whites streamed west, first beyond Western, then beyond Crenshaw, and Watts became a ghetto– a ghetto that LBJ’s misguided welfare programs utterly destroyed.
In how many of our communities has this story played out, and always with such catastrophic consequences?
Leading the news tonight, a Hollywood celebrity – drunk and high on drugs – mistakes the pizza delivery boy for an intruder and kills him with 2 blasts of a shotgun….in 3…2…1…
I would much rather see the headline :
Child sex slave escapes from Hollywood star – steals gun – six shots fired. Star dead .
Would rather have two, preferably three preps dead.
That Hollywood celebrity will claim the gun went off all by itself.
Looks like all the idiots in Beverly hills will be pulling an Alec Baldwin soon.
They got George Gascon as DA. Most of his big donors (aside from Soros) were from the San Francisco area. Gascon, btw, started his career with the LAPD.
The folks in Beverly Hills have the money and power to put in the DA of their choice, and that person can be just as tough on crime as they want.
Baloney article. Totally fake emphasis upon the “only gun store in Beverly Hills” angle. I lived in LA County for 25 years. Beverly Hills is a small, incorporated neighborhood. It is surrounded by a dozen other neighborhood/towns, all of which have at least 5 gun stores each.
Exactly how hard do you think it is for a BH resident to drive 5-8 miles to gun shop? All the rich folks already had well-armed security employees in the ‘90s.
I am sure there are other gun stores in that area Mike. That is not the point. Crime has gotten more blatant, the wealthy are targeted, and living in an enclave. Didn’t BLM raid Rodeo Drive last year?
last week they had smash and grab break ins on Rodeo Drive
The 81 year old widow of the entertainment guy that was murdered had a security guard on the premises and he didn’t know that there was a home invasion in progress. Maybe, he did know and decided that it wasn’t worth dying for $15 an hour so he pretended he didn’t hear anything!
As a one time (Loong time ago!) “professional” burglar, I succesfully navigated around alarms, dogs and security guards.
One time, commercial building, I ENTERED, but I didn’t BREAK; I just walked 3-5′ behind the security guard.
He unlocked every door, walked thru, and the closer closed the door, which latched it.
So, I just slipped in behind him, till I got into the complex, ducked behind a potted plant while he continued on his rounds.
Then “did my thing”, and when he made his next rounds, followed him out.
The one thing that scared me ( and one of the reasons I stopped doing residences) was an asleep but armed resident.
This is my “no comment”, “comment” ! 😜
A home burglar greatest fear is a grandma in her eighty’s sitting in her rocking chair watching TV with a .357 under her shawl.
But, this is a discreet and private experience, by appt only, where no one knows they are obtaining guns. It might be bad for their reputations if someone found out they were a card carrying member of the 2A Club. Some may venture elsewhere, but most want their bz to be their bz, not every Tom, Dick and Mary’s bz.
In fact, I would not be surprised if they had gun sales people come to their homes to show off their wares and make a purchase.
The anti gun crowd is arming itself, interesting. Watch them ask how you put those shotguns in a holster. Next thing you know, they’ll be asking about AR 15’s.
Well, there goes on of my test questions, for when I want to know if someones maga or libbie, but don’t want to ask, directly;
Is “center body mass” a termvof PHYSICS, or ASTROPHYSICS? (usually holding a crossword puzzle and pen, when I ask).
Ask if they believe in gun control. If the answer is a tight grouping center mass, probably maga.
Firm believervin background checks. Don’t want to hit the innocent, behind the perp.
Actually, “Bic,..or Zippo” is surprisingly accurate!
Using both hands.
Holster that shotgun son” LOL
“Everyone has a general sense of constant fear, which is very sad” reap the whirlwind assholes, reap it.
California can’t not be fixed.
They should build a wall like in Israel and declare independence.
There were mini Trump rallies in the street near Beverly Hills last year.
Yes there were. California maybe redder then we assume or are lead to believe.
Especially with the Dominion Voting Machines. Before the 2020 election, somethings never seemed correct.
After, with Professor Sundance, Admins, and fellow Treepers, have had major eye openings.
Am attempting to share the knowledge with others or toss sand into the machinery.
A female caller said last night on the Lindell Report that Dominion also sells gambling machines. Brannon Howse was hosting and was floored. He said they would be looking into that.
I’ll bet the gambling machines are more secure than the voting machines.
I was there 3 times in BH at the Trump rallies. 400-500 people from all over Los Angeles.
Still too many liberal loons here.
California and New York wrote the book on stealing elections.
Yes !
With all the drugs and alcohol consumed in BH, this is going to be a shlt show of epic proportions.
Somebody’s gonna get shot!
This is Alec Baldwin country!!
Real estate agents for all the new $20 + million dollar white boxes being built there will now need to focus on something more existential than infinity pools, ‘wellness spaces,’ Gaggenau appliances.
Maybe squeeze into the dumbwaiter and ride down to the chef’s kitchen and hide in a fortified panic room in the basement. Between the home theater and wine cellar. And good luck if you’re trapped in your 2000 square foot ‘primary bedroom.’ (the term ‘master bedroom’ no longer uttered due to politically correct hurt feelings.
Seriously, the sense of entitlement and disconnect from the real world is amazing. As if their zip code is sufficient to protect their magic kingdom. Mind you, most of the mega millionaires purchasing new homes there are from Russia, China, the Middle East, and have shady histories themselves. They understand security and force far better than the entertainment and tech people who are generally the most compliant and cowardly.
Weird. I was just thinking about panic rooms myself yesterday for some reason.
How the uber rich can afford them, but would they be smart enough to stock it well for a hostage situation where they might have to stay awhile. Do they have bathrooms, etc.? How long could they live in that panic room if cut off from the world for an extended time?
How about underground secret tunnels? In earthquake country, it could get interesting.
I keep my handguns and rifles secure (I’ve got kids)
but I keep my shotgun handy with the shells nearby.
It takes me about 30 seconds to grab my mossy and load 6 shells
👍🏻
it actually sounds like the residents are getting ok advice.
for people unaccustomed to handling firearms, and not so likely to take classes,
a shotgun is pretty good for home defense.
in a high stress situation, chances are good that if they even get it pointed in the general direction of the perp,
they’ll get a piece of him/her.
even better if they get a gunsmith to set the widest scatter pattern,
and sell them the right load (no slugs for goodness sakes).
however, the possibilities for error without even a basic safety class are very, very scary.
i think they’d be better off hiring experienced, trained, armed security.
A moss is easy to load, aim, etc
Its so easy, even libtard could do it.
Well, the NRA magazine is full of stories of firearms being used for self defence, and in many no shots are actually fired; just HAVING the gun, dissuades the perp.
And, there is nothing quite like the SOUND, of racking a shotgun.
Oh, sure many/most guns make some sound when cocking, some are even impressive, but a 12 guage pump, iscin a class by itself, in that regard.
You could be a FULL ON libtard and just eject each shell with each pump action,
but you’d have to be be pretty dumb to do that in a critical situation.
I’ve shown my kids how to empty the the magazine doing that.
They know how to operate a moss, if it ever gets to that point,
Could not agree more about the sound of a pump shotgun.
Any bad guy with half a brain knows it’s time to LEAVE!
Takes me less than 5 seconds. Mine is loaded and at the ready. BUT, under control
One gun store in Beverly Hills. One shooting range in LA County. What’s your confidence level that these mucky-mucks are getting ANY firearm safety training? I’d say the overs are zero and the unders are none. I’m a strong advocate for firearm ownership and will die protecting my 2nd Amendment rights, but these f’n morons will accidentally kill themselves and/or their families playing Rambo. Maybe Alec Baldwin can give them some time-tested advice. SMH.
To be fair, most people that panic bought guns last year didn’t get any training either, probably. Just threw them in a closet and forgot about them until something bad happens. Yuppies are yuppies everywhere.
They might not get any training, but I bet they’ll have the latest, most fashionable, shooting gear and accessories!!!/s
These stores should be shut down as their residents have begged over the years.
The messed up part about Home Defense in California, is that we don’t have Castle Doctrine… and these Libtards are going to discover a rude awakening if they “Defend themselves”
The law is set out in California Criminal Jury Instruction 5.12:
Surprised it doesn’t require them to write a 500 word essay, clearly explaining how their situationn meets all of the above legal requirements, BEFORE discharging the weopon.
To make it worse a libtard DA in a libtard town will interpret the above legal doctrine much differently than a normal(ish) DA in a normal(ish) Mexifornia town.
There I fixed it for you.
I actually prefer him with a mask. As I do most CONgress Critters. They aren’t much to look at and I think that is one of the reasons they want to be faceless. Most are old hacks, including the one pictured immediately above.
Put him in blackface and he makes a good Jolson, lol.
Might be the Demosociopaths are learning there’s
no where to run,
no where to hide from
BRANDON & the FUBAR
Maybe they will start mowing their own lawns now like Rand Paul
Get Off The Grass Julio!!!
I wonder if she knew the firing pin was inoperative.
No castle doctrine in CA. Just remember that.
LCH training underscores in any self-defense situation expect to be arrested and expect to be sued. The training was strong on law and only moderate on handling and light on tactical work. However, if one is dead at the hand or gun of an adversary all that law stuff is moot. The tool allows one to potentially live to fight another day, whether in defense of one’s life or in court.
Though my faith in the corrupted legal system has waned over the decades, there’s still something to be said about preferring to be judged by twelve versus carried by six.
lol….bet Ruger is making a killing right now since most of their guns are on the Commifornia approved registry.
Remember that little niggle in the California legal system called “personal liability?” I wonder if Mr. Stuart is offering training in the use of the weapons he sells. If he isn’t, some lawyer will nail him as a co-conspirator in the death or serious injury of one of the next few perps. Since these Hollywood moguls know diddly-squat about using weapons let me suggest they stick to shells loaded with rock salt rather than 00 buckshot.
Home Security Gone Awry
Dec 29, 2021
A Southern California woman who tried to get into her home through a backyard window was attacked and killed by the family’s four dogs. Her young son was also bitten but survived, authorities said Wednesday.
The woman, whose name wasn’t immediately released, lived with her sister-in-law but nobody was home at the time and the woman had forgotten her key. Sheriff’s deputies called to the scene saw the woman lying in the backyard and used hoses to force the dogs away from her. She suffered major injuries to her head and one arm and died at the hospital she was taken to.
I guess these lefties wont be pushing to remove the 2A
Why not? Plenty of them have firearms or have bodyguards armed. But that didn’t stop them from being vocal gun grabbers. Fine for me, but not for thee, is their motto.
Or maybe they’re worried that when the whole system comes crumbling down, they’ll be dragged through the streets to account for what they’ve done to this once great country. Nah, if they had that much wisdom or foresight, they never would’ve supported the views they have.
Remember, the McCloskeys standing their ground when BLM came marching through? At first, many of us on the right thought they were well-heeled democrats and big DNC donors, but when the froth died down, we learned they were conservatives just defending their turf and their neighborhood.
I needed these photos to cheer me up.
Who needs Tweeter when we have CTH & Sundance?
The article shows a PPK in .32 resting on a cushion. Haha.
I guess it’s okay if you’re James Bond. Clueless Hollywood editors.
So now when the crooks rob people in Beverly Hills they’ll get some nice, new guns, too.
I think you win the prize for best comment. 🙂
One thing you have to remember. These people are not trained and they perceive the biggest threat is home invasion from a mob. Considering that, a shot gun is not a bad choice.
I’m a former SF soldier. The firearm I keep handy at bed side used to be a Colt Combat commander, now it is a Glock 21. I am a strong believer in the .45 ACP round for stopping power with the minimum risk to my neighbors. My wife, who is a small woman has a SS Tarus revolver chambered for 38 special, loaded with gel tip rounds.
The advantages of a pistol in CQB should be obvious but it takes training to be able to best utilize those advantages. Time for training most people are not willing to commit to.
A lot of interesting comments posted.
But, I am surprised no one mentioned the most important aspect (when carrying a gun for home defense in Beverly Hills) who are the appropriate fashion designers to wear? 🤔 😉
They can get that in home any day of the week. 🙂
I guess it depends on whether heels are involved or not.
Electing stupid, lawless communists has consequences.
I’d love to be on the range the first time one of these candyasses lights off some Buckshot. Always glorious.
Welcome to Middle America Hollywood! Might I suggest a gun that will do the job?
These fools probably have no training or experience in using firearms. They will be a greater threat to themselves than they are to any potential intruder.
I am reading THE GULAG ARCHIPELGO this month. There is a chapter in volume II dealing with “thieves” which is highly relevant to the US today.
Yep, back in the 60’s when a classmate accidently killed himself with his father’s rifle while handling it alone, a whole bunch of us, myself included, got gun safety classroom and range time as a result. Harsh lesson at eight years old, but it stuck. I still treat a gun as loaded even when it’s disassembled on the bench and am often shocked by how casually people treat guns. Serious stuff.
Similarly, I’d be more worried about accidents and collateral damage with untrained owners than random perps ever putting them in a self-defense situation. However, risks are part of living in a free society, which is something we need to constantly assess and fight for, as our freedoms are constantly under attack, regardless of political persuasion.
Keep in mind, this is the epicenter of the West Coast donor base for the DNC.
But they will never learn.
Hmmmm…
Affluent Elites buying guns and ammo in Hollywood.
Bahahaha
What could possibly go wrong? Oh, they’ll just call Alec Baldwin to help them with their new found hobby of course.
Sorry not Sorry Fkmmmmm
Welcome to our world you Jackboots.
It’s almost Popcorn time!
🙌🏼❤️🇺🇸FJB🇺🇸❤️🙌🏼
My Dad always said the weapon of choice for someone that does not practice a lot but can load and pull the trigger….like a woman…is a shotgun. THAT is the probable reason for its popularity. If these people get as hysterical and go insane over simple politics, think what their mindset and their destructive behavior can do with a gun! We might be about to witness a complete meltdown of the West Coast elites by their own hand. Don’t go visit your neighbor!
Anyone here ever watch the show The Real Murders of Orange County?
(2020-)”The Real Murders of Orange County” delves into the most horrific, sinful and salacious cases that rocked a wealthy Southern California coastal community also known for a certain soapy prime-time drama, wine-sipping Housewives and the ups and downs of the hot and privileged in Laguna Beach. From a lethal tale of mistaken identity to the deadly pursuit of the perfect family image, and from a murder-for-hire gone wrong to families turning on their own, viewers hear the harrowing tales of privilege leading to problems and greed leading to murder as each episode delves into a startling case of privilege and prosperity gone fatally wrong.
It’s about time that the left coast elites feel the blowback of their pro-crime policies. They have a romantic view of black street criminals but they are quickly becoming disabused of any romance as concerns minority street criminals now that their precious living spaces are under threat.
The chickens are coming home to roost. You get what you voted for. Lesko California!
