First, they should call for new laws requiring anyone involved in movies, media, advertising, music videos etc. who handles a gun, must have passed an NRA safety program and also possess a conceal/carry permit or equivalent for each state.

Second, all media usage of guns must require that the gun be modified/designed such that it can only fire specific blanks designed for the gun used. The gun design must also be such that it can not be modified to fire actual ammunition.

Third, all “prop” guns need to be registered and approved for sale by a government agency and can not be transferred privately. If there is ever a real gun found being used for media purposes there would be severe penalties and fines.

Basically, new laws must be passed using much of the logic the left uses against lawful gun ownership. For example: The left wants serial numbers on ammo for tracking. OK, lets put numbers on all movie guns and ammo.

With all the money involved with Hollywood there is no reason they can’t design “prop” guns that are meant for demonstration and practicing or filming. Prevent them from taking advantage of low cost guns that fire blanks. This would provide gun manufacturers another source of income and prevent the likes of Baldwin from ever blaming guns. Essentially the laws would prevent real guns from ever being used on a movie set and force the left to adhere to their own logic.

It would be very hard for the left to argue against since it is exactly what they want all gun owners to adhere to. Every time they come up with a new gun law, introduce the same requirement for movies, actors, and media. Even the NRA would admit that real guns are not needed in advertisements unless it is specifically for selling the gun or guns shown.
