The dramatic and cinematic promotional effort is so over the top as George Stephanopoulos plays the role of James Lipton interviewing Alec Baldwin in the grand performance of “I didn’t pull the trigger, no, no, no… never” the revolver just went off all by itself. WATCH:
The cinematic effort by ABC here is, excuse the pun, likely to backfire. It’s just perverse, twisted and creepy, considering that someone died.
Whoever gave Baldwin the advice to do this was just playing to his own vanity. The one thing regular Americans can detect better than all other nations of people is fake efforts at authenticity. That reality has been the Achilles heel of professional con-artists and leftists for decades; and thankfully, most people have retained that instinct.

My God, I actually watched that trailer just now; these two bastards are now using the woman’s as…………..more entertainment. They both belong in hell.
Not gonna lie… that’s Oscar material right there.
The gun was a revolver. The hammer had to be pulled back or the trigger pulled with great force. Both are very intentional acts.
All previous accounts said the people on the set were using the guns for entertainment and horsing around. I suspect this shooting was supposed to be on the blooper reel.
The divide is getting wider and wider. It’s not like a political divide. It’s far more than an ideological divide. This is a REALITY divide.
In a world where “fully vaccinated people” are getting COVID19 and are blaming the “unvaccinated” for it? We live among terrifyingly stupid people. Terrifyingly stupid.
Puke!!!
Single action revolvers require 2 things to fire – assuming a round is in position: 1) cocking and 2) trigger pull. Attorney to expert witness on stand: In the history of firearms how many times has a single action revolver cocked and fired itself while laying untouched?
Exactly! “ Like many other SA pistols, the classic wild west style Colt Single Action Army fires a round every time you manually cock the hammer and pull the trigger.” – David Lewis. Trigger pull weight on single action revolvers can be up to 5lbs. That gun needs to be tested to see what the trigger pull weight is. My guess is cocking it is close to 10lb but the trigger pull close to 5lbs. Now if the trigger pull was less than 5 lbs to make it easy for shooting by actors that could be the case. But someone cocked and pulled the trigger on that revolver to make it fire – period!
Don’t need a light trigger pull to shoot blanks
I have had a SA revolver in my shop that had a DIY trigger job by a quick draw kid with zero experience. He had a leg wound, and claimed he never touched the trigger. I tested the revolver with a case and live primer. Cocking it and jogging the revolver or slapping it hard resulted in the hammer falling and igniting the primer. However, I strongly suspect that this revolver had not been modified.
That gun will disappear like the Wiemar and Biden laptops.
Theatrical BS. By both thespian – Baldwin and Stephenopolus.
Imagine if you are the widower of this woman who Baldwin shot and killed, just imagine what he must be thinking as he watches dear ole Alec do his dance with Georgie Boy on ABC. “The dog ate my homework!” comes to mind.
I recall a few saying the memorial presentation by Kevin Costner at Whitney Houston’s funeral service was a staged event, he is afterall an actor, they claimed. So too is Alec Baldwin. Compare for yourself both presentations.
Alec Baldwin cannot accept the fact he killed this woman, he refuses to place himself with that gun in hand. He is not the first to come forward with such an operating belief, even though all the facts suggest it was his finger that pulled the trigger.
Alec Baldwin is fighting for his sanity…right now it appears this battle is not going his way, not at all. Even the typist in “Saving Private Ryan” finally stood up and shot the German soldier who had wrecked his team.
Alec Baldwin is really saying to all who listen: “Mommy will come, Mommy will come!” Not this time pal…
Refr: Even the typist in “Saving Private Ryan” finally stood up and shot the German soldier who had wrecked his team.
It was a shot “too late” for the Captain and perhaps other GIs………….
Baldwin is a POS.
His privilege won’t save him in the public eye this time… both he and his wife love to hold court. Their reception has always produced sycophants who gather round. They both live in an altered universe. Something like believing your own press.
‘Alec Baldwin is fighting for his sanity’ ……. Maybe, although I’m not so sure about that. I do not believe he is in denial about what happened and how it happened. He may be, emotionally, still in shock, but it is clear he has been coached by his attorneys and PR team out the wazoo. There will not be one word in that piece of self-serving propaganda that was not approved by his flacks as the most likely to be of the highest benefit to Alec. This is simply an overt, in-your-face, utterly unsubtle preemptive influencing and swaying his way of a potential jury pool, in its finest form, both for the legal system and the court of public opinion. He may be heart-broken, but the string-pulling is so obvious it is painful to watch: just like the maroon SUV in Waukesha, this gun went rogue and did it all by itself! Let’s not forget Baldwin is fighting for his future in Hollywood, his wealth and potentially his freedom. At this point, he will do and say anything to throw the responsibility off onto someone else.
If Mommy does come, she’ll kick little Alec-boy in his nuts. Mommy don’t take no guff from fools.
Mommy may just turn out to be the Governor of New Mexico.
This democrat knows how much money flows into her state via the entertainment industry…we are talking big bucks, meaning there are many voices (whispers I suspect) suggesting she use all of her influence to “soften” the damage all around, even getting the lowest charge possible for Mr. Executioner, Alec Baldwin…if needed!
Baldwin, since his first comment on this senseless killing, has progressed with his PR people and the many lawyers on his team (which includes Mr. Insurance Man!) the same message:”He is a victim…”
He tries to convince himself of this obvious lie, even with those tears…get down on the ground over her grave and cry big boy!
The hand of Nemesis has landed on the shoulder of Alec Baldwin. No effort on his part will remove this hand!
He will reap what he has sown!
No sane person will comfort him, for a sane person goes to the injured family first, the husband and then. of course, that young son…would Alec trade one of his children for peace of mind?
I doubt that, and there is where his lying to his self gets really real. His self will live in torment until he publicly admits it was his finger, his hand and his self who pulled that trigger. Hello O.J. are you listening?
Hell awaits this arrogant fool…
I didn’t think it could get any worse than Baldwin himself until the end with the man with the soft emoting voice.
I wake up from cold nights’ sleeps ready to do voiceover work myself… but after breakfast, I’m back to doing Mickey Mouse.
FAB!
Gloria Allred’s statement:
Today we filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on the behalf of our client, Mamie Mitchell, against actor, producer Alec Baldwin and numerous other producers of the movie, “Rust”. In our lawsuit, we allege that on October 21st, 2021 Alexander Baldwin (“Alec Baldwin”) fired a loaded gun killing Halyna Hutchins, injuring Joel Souza, and causing physical and emotional injuries to Mamie Mitchell the script supervisor, standing in the line of fire when the gun went off.
https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/21112677-gloria-allred-statement-11-17-21
Mamie Mithcell is an opportunist and fits right in Hollywood. She needs to get his money before the family of Miss Hutchins has a chance to first.
Yes, I’m sure it was scary but people live through scary things every single day. If it’s cuz she saw someone shot and die, well, many of us have seen such things. Mamie could at least have the decency to wait for Miss Hutchins to get her justice served first.
Mamie should be grateful she is alive?
Yes. She was spared and should have a renewed perspective on life.
It’s not fair of me to say because maybe she did but it wore off. Or, maybe the perspective is living life like Alec Baldwin.
This of course demonstrates a motive to slip a live round into the revolver while Hannah Reed was prohibited from being close enough to the set to ensure that the gun wasn’t tampered with.
This reminds me of the time he called his ten year old daughter a thoughtless little pig.
He went on The View and blamed the girl’s mother for making him do it.
I’ve been a thoughtless pig my whole Communist life.
Signed,
Joy Behar
He’s hoping enough people will believe that bullets are alive and kill people without the trigger being pulled or the gun being pointed.
Many leftists idiots believe this!
Well Alex, if you didn’t pull the trigger… who did?
The gun killed her you fool! Alex just watched it happen.
I wonder if the Wakeshau SUV has a solid alibi?
I abhor Alex Baldwin’s political ideology; but, he’s an excellent actor. Now we know his finger is an even better one…
Remember, Hollywood and all actors do one thing. They use illusion to create a perception of reality. That is what movies and TV shows are. Whether it’s for entertainment or defending their corrupt souls, it is what they do.
iMHO, Alex knows a serious charge is coming his way. This interview’s purpose is to gain sympathy from the public and to poison the jury pool as much as possible. This man is just craven. Although I believe it was a tragic accident, he needs to act like a decent human being and take responsibility in whatever part he played in it. Face his punishment (make recompense) in whatever form it takes, so that he can get on with his life.
Re “Remember, Hollywood and all actors do one thing. They use illusion to create a perception of reality. That is what movies and TV shows are.”
Same same for politicians and the media…
Bazinga!
This is perverse, if I were a relative of the victim I’d be on TV interviews with the rebuttal (since this is clearly a court of public opinion play): you know the worst thing that happened in her life? Being shot and killed by a person now attempting to wash his hands of this tragic event via an opportunistic media.
This is a new narrative that is being engineered and it is born of necessity. His lawyers are making it a “he said, she (The Prosecutors) said” argument, which, leaves room for reasonable doubt and the ability to mitigate the coming Civil actions.
I’m no going to say it is brilliant, but it ain’t bad and it has legs.
The jury pool is ABSOLUTLEY going to hear about Baldwin’s denial and it will percolate there until Voir Dire when the attorneys for both sides will attempt to separate the wheat from the chaff.
In this case, there is a pretty good chance, that we will all get our azzes chaffed with a not guilty verdict by way of reasonable doubt.
People are saying that the hammer HAS to be pulled back – but – “The Colt Single Action Army had a half cock notch that allowed you to lock the hammer back only slightly. This was a safer way to carry than letting the hammer’s sharp metal spike of a firing pin constantly press down on a cartridge primer. The “my trigger finger is my safety” and the “no such thing as an AD” people are spoiled rotten by the safety features in modern handguns. Baldwin may be lying, but if so, it’s an entirely believable lie.”
Again, while I think Baldwin is a reprehensible, egotistical, Fascist gasbag, the “Narrative Engineers” on his legal team are earning their money.
I suspect the gun was already cocked when Baldwin picked it up. He then stupidly pointed it at people and pulled the trigger.
I think the same too. I don’t think he intended to kill anyone, but he did, and that’s why I feel if the jury understands the law’s intent, he will be found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.
Unless the prosecution can prove that Alec and Miss Hutchins argued or that Alec was denied by Miss Hutchins or any other “motive,” that is all they can charge him with and hope to get a guilty plea.
Here is a good description of the laws in CA:
Manslaughter in California Laws and Penalties | Leah Legal Criminal Defense
They were filming in New Mexico not California.
Thanks.
New Mexico Involuntary Manslaughter Law – FindLaw.com
Simple, modern revolvers of the type that Baldwin was playing with have a rolling block designed to keep the hammer from being able to contact a round chambered, until it is cocked and trigger is pulled. I would need to inspect the firearm.
People learned real fast to keep an empty chamber under the hammer, because it would fire if dropped.
Either Baldwin had it cocked and then pulled the trigger or he used his thumb to slip the hammer before it reached half cocked.
I am betting he had it cocked and he touched the trigger, he has already in my mind committed manslaughter because he pointed a gun at them, period. If he had not pointed gun at them the only bad thing likely would have happened is the idiot would shoot his foot off.
He pointed the weapon, guilty!
Sundance, in this time of great national crisis, this article and others penned in the last weeks represents some of your best work! Well done.
Yes. You did. Icehole. Guns dont go off by themselves
A weapon has to be physically manipulated to fire.
He is straight up lying.
This is just like the Fake News reporting an SUV drove onto the parade route and mowed down 50 people. Yea, like it was a self-driving vehicle?!
Deny, deny, deny… worked for the Clintons, didn’t it, Alec?
Aw, the alligator begins to eat his own tail.
Funny how “I would never…” evolved from “we just saw you do it.”
Can’t the husband of that woman testify? He saw him shoot both of them. He is still living-right? Injured but should remember something. AB is a liar–great actor though. Crying one minute and all ego the next. Big bags under his eyes–drinker!
That ain’t gonna fly
Try I thought she was gonna hit me with a skateboard
Not only is the narrative disturbing but so is the production. Lately I have been noticing media productions that blend video of people/actors with, VR animations and sets. It is subtle but vaguely disturbing to watch regardless of content.
This trailer blends sophisticated propaganda-style narrative control and some subtle computer enhancements. I have a feeling that in the near future, many prepared minds will no longer be able to discern reality.
“Alec Baldwin, Unscripted”. Bwa-ha-ha. More Hollywood fantasy. The problem with narcissists is, they don’t know when to keep their mouths shut. That goes for both of them.
I would have been easier on the rest of us if he saved the one last bullet in his gun for himself.
Hollywood has also released Baldwin movie re-runs as well to beef up his pocket book ahead of the civil and criminal cases soon to follow.
He’ll will be allowed to use this fabrication to get loose from this whole mess.
Alec Baldwin is a faithful anti-trump loyalist.
How will he escape using this BS?
The media will simply let it go, soon you want hear another word from the whole ordeal, maybe just maybe some kinda out of court settlement?
And it will be a done deal thanks for playing
I am surprised though that Jussie Smollett did not skate. He is on trial for his hoax. Black, gay, he checks the “get out of jail free” card and he was in Chicago.
He does very good Tony Bennett and Tracy Morgan imitations.
Maybe the jury will take that into account.
The gun killed her! The libs are right after all! Who knew?
Baldwin is lying and expects Americans to buy what he and WE know is a damn lie. He and George Stephanopoulos continue to show how devoid of professional and personal ethics, integrity, morality and truth that exemplifies how broken and fundamentally out of touch both men are with the American people. This attempt at an excuse, borders on psychotic behavior with no hope for recovery.
Half of Americans will just watch that trailer, suspend any remnants of critical thinking and let their minds be made up for them.
“Truth makes me sad”
Waiting for Alec Baldwin to reveal that he’s 1/1032th Native American, and thus not guilty.
Ha and that it is 100% justifiable as reparations for stolen land.
I still think that slimy jerk performed a hit.
Well, there you have it folks. The bullet was not even supposed to be on the premises. It went off in his hand all by itself. See, guns are dangerous. After having transported itself to the gun and putting itself in the gun, the bullet pulled the trigger.
I know Alec is an older man but his face is so puffy. He looks like a heavy drinker. Again, I know people age and get wrinkly and so forth, but he looks bloated. Interesting and actually in his favor that he hasn’t had a face lift.
He will have to live with this one. Even if he gets away with killing her. I wonder if the shooting is on film?
To be on the left, one has to let go of childish things like conscience, sympathy and empathy. You have to rise above the worthless animals that are the “normies” to become something more than an animal.
These people have a way of seeing and thinking which is completely alien to most people. Living arrogance and ego in the shape of a human. No concern or conscience before it happened. And none after.
Kinda like self-driving SUVs attacking Christmas parades.
I don’t think it was anyone giving him advice to deny pulling the trigger, it is just the narcissist’s inability to admit himself having done anything wrong. Not that it will wash with anyone who has ever used a revolver. Of course, there won’t be many of those types watching abc.
Q: “Why do some leave one chamber empty in the cylinder of a revolver?”
A: “old revolvers could fire by being dropped or something striking or partially cocking, then dropping, the hammer….putting the hammer down on an empty cylinder was a safety measure”
The practice goes back to old single action revolvers, where there were no devices to keep the firing pin from “resting” on the primer of a live round in the cylinder. So you kept the chamber directly under the firing pin empty
Pathetic and transparent
People who have a modicum of firearm technology instantly see the absurdity. Those wiyh only a slight firearm experience may require a few more seconds. It is amusing to see anti gun idiots discussing / pontificating about guns. For example Joe Bidens recommendation that if one should obtain a shotgun rather than an AR-15 and if trouble is suspected simply go out to the porch and fire both barrels into the air. Problem solved – why didn’t the rest of us think of that?
Guns – particularly single action revolvers – do not spontaeneously fire. If they did, we would have implemented a design modification long ago. Balwin’s res gestae / excited utterance “who handed me a hot gun” is inconsistent with “I never pulled the trigger”.
I have been expecting criminal charges against Baldwin once the prosecutor works out the labyrinthine intervening / superseding criminal conduct issues.
Baldwin doth protest too much methinks. The “I never pulled the trigger is intend to stigmatize guns and provide a basis for the media leftists to urge his innocence.
It won’t work.
Does the “mood music” also played during the interview?
Claiming “I didn’t pull the trigger” was the first thing I learned about in my concealed carry class. It can not happen and is the most used excuse in accidental shootings. The trigger doesn’t pull itself. Alec must think everyone is dumb to believe that.
This “explanation” by Baldwin fits into the Hollywood gun control narrative: Guns are dangerous, can go off at anytime and should confiscated and State…except when used by our bodyguards or in our movies.
It will be interesting to see which dingbat celebs buy this crap and line up with Baldwin’s story…Sarandon, Cher….
Ever give advice to a vain person?
I’m sure some people will be dumb enough to believe him but not me.
Was a camera filming at the time ?
“Unscripted” lmfao
After watching clip, I think a lot of idiots will buy in to his BS!
After the interview was all done, everybody had popcorn and watched the outtakes and the bloopers, and Georgie and Alec had some good laughs with the ABC crew.
And then after they burned that tape, they all went out to a nice dinner. Just like on 30 Rock!
Alec Baldwin is a great actor.
He is trying to get cleared in the media with this stunt. And they are happy to oblige. Especially if the stuff is true about the killed lady’s husband being a lawyer related to Sussaman.
He never pulled the trigger? It must be something like the cars that raid stores; in this case a gun shot and killed someone.
Correct me if I’m wrong …. on a single action gun, if you pull the trigger without cocking it, it won’t fire…. correct? So that would mean he had to complete two steps for the gun to fire, first cock it and second pull the trigger? It’s not just pull trigger and shoot? If so that makes his story is even more unbelievable.
Exactly! A single action revolver needs to be cocked before firing…. as you say a two step process. There’s a certain large group of Americans who will believe anything they are told on the news or by the government. This Covid and vaccine fiasco is absolute proof millions can’t think critically.
1800’s and early 1900s single actions (we’re talking old west style) didnt have transfer bars protecting the firing pin from the hammer. They used to load a revolver with only 5 rounds with the empty chamber infront of the hammer because sometimes the gun would discharge without the hammer being pulled back if there was a big enough jolt to the gun. In fact, my 90 year old grandfather owns a .44 like this, according to my father.
Perhaps they were using an age appropriate gun for this wild west film?
Still the gun shouldnt have been pointed at anyone and therefore I think Alec Baldwin is still at fault.
Ah alright, so maybe that’s his angle…. but this was a replica gun, so would a replica gun recreate that “unsafe”design or would it be “modernized” and include a safety bar?
So, I now need to do some critical thinking based upon what kind of jolt occurred, or may be necessary to force the firing pin into the round? Was it Alex Baldwin’s huge ego that bumped the gun?
While this detail is true…
My money says because it’s Baldwin’s team, they got cheap on the props, got cheap on the staff, and his temper did the rest. Occam’s Razor.
I’ld be skeptical about that.
Old guns, in good shape, cost a lot of money.
It was a beautiful replica and it had the old fashioned style hammer – no transfer bar.
One odd detail is that the inexperienced female “armorer” apparently insisted on loading the old single-action revolver with six rounds, even though she had trouble getting the sixth round in. Apparently she did not know that for safety reasons these guns are only loaded with five rounds (where a special loading sequence must be followed to insure that the empty chamber ends up under the hammer):
“Investigators say that the armorer on the film, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, loaded the gun with five dummy rounds on Oct. 21, but struggled to add a sixth round before a lunch break, when the revolver was locked in a truck. The final round was added after lunch when the gun was cleaned.”
Baldwin ‘Rust’ Movie Set Shooting Investigators Try to Track Source of Live Ammunition – The Truth About Guns
The unsafe condition of six loaded chambers would not lead to an accidental discharge just from pointing the gun however. Something would have to whack the hammer from behind, driving the firing pin forward into the primer, of the gun would have to be dropped from at least a few feet onto its muzzle, so that the forward momentum of the hammer into the stopped gun would drive the firing pin into the primer.
If the gun was cocked, which is almost certainly the case, it makes no difference how many rounds were loaded. On a safely loaded gun cocking the hammer rotates the cylinder so as to bring a loaded chamber into firing position. Baldwin hasn’t claimed he was handed a cocked gun, so he must have cocked it himself.
What the six loaded chambers show is the blatant incompetence of Hannah Guitterez Reed. It doesn’t sound like her prestigious gun-handling father actually trained her to any significant degree, yet he still used his position in the industry to get her jobs. His reputation should be in the toilet for that.
Two steps needed – cock it and pull trigger to shoot.. Basically, Baldwin is saying “I didn’t pull the trigger”…
Question: after you cock it can you let go of the hammer – does it hold ?- If you cock it & let go of the hammer & it doesn’t hold – will the gun fire without pulling the trigger??
Don’t know if my question makes sense, but Baldwin is *crying* saying he didn’t pull the trigger and I’m guessing this is his excuse – cocked and fired, but didn’t pull trigger.
Disclaimer – I know NOTHING about firearms, maybe it’s a naive question. However, I am an NRA lifetime member:)
If the gun is in proper working order (armorer) the gun will cock and not fire unless the trigger is pulled. If it didn’t have a transfer bar, it was likely of the ‘4 click’ design where there is a half cock notch on the hammer. If the hammer did accidently fall from the firing position, the half cock notch would catch the hammer and stop it before firing the weapon.
Short of dropping it on the ground with a loaded chamber under the hammer, these guns don’t just go off.
He may not of ‘intended’ to fire…but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t being negligent either…
Guns don’t kill people. Alec Baldwin does.
EXACTLY!!!
Alex is so full of himself that he believes he is innocent even when the facts PROVE him guilty.
He hates guns and would not even learn the gun safety rules, they were beneath him. Oh he has constantly told himself LIES that he believes those lies to be the truth…… HIS truth.
Well there is only ONE TRUTH, the truth that is backed by FACTS.
You murdered an innocent person Mr.Baldwin.
Since my college philosophy classes (Late 1970s) the assault on one independent “truth” has marched forward. “your truth is not my truth” Is really a remark about experience, not the birth place of multiple truths.
Delusional minds invent new truths to scapegoat their own malfeasance/nonfeasance. See Alec Baldwin, Exhibit A
If he hates guns so badly , why is he using them to pad his wallet ?
Apologies if this is opined somewhere in the early comments, but I see this as a test run of Baldwin’s defense strategy for criminal and civil cases. He will attempt to create “reasonable doubt” in the minds of gullible jurors, by claiming that the firearm somehow malfunctioned due to inherent design or manufacturing flaws, modifications, or deliberate tampering by persons unknown. The defense will say it’s the police’s job to determine which one; they’ll claim that the State must disprove this bag of theories absolutely or reasonable doubt remains. Just as an SUV forced itself into a crowd in Waukesa, this evil handgun fired itself, because that’s what forearms do. Baldwin is its victim, and he’s suffered enough!
And, to add to this scam, George Stephanopoulos is helping Baldwin out. Anytime you see Stephanopoulos interviewing someone, you can be sure he is scamming the public.
BTW … Facebook has now declared there will be NO stories or conversations allowed which imply Baldwin is guilty of pulling the trigger. Only stories of his innocence will be allowed … because ALL defendants are presumed innocent in the eyes of American Law … Right?
Oh!? Kyle Rittenhouse? That’s different. All MAGA-like folks are racist hillbillies… guilty by definition. Fackqebook has spoken.
Disagree. Like all self centered liberals, Alex tells one lie after another in order to exonerate himself from any responsibility for his direct action that killed one person and injured another. The basic facts are that there was a live round in the single action revolver that he held in his hand which he cocked the hammer back, pointed it at a person and pulled the trigger which discharged the bullet. If he hadn’t cocked the hammer back he could have pulled the trigger all day and nothing would have happened. However, note that he was an actor in a film production who handled and used single action revolvers and therefore had no excuse as to how it operated. Also, there was no mention of any double action or semi-automatic weapons. That said, Alex has anger management and other psychological issues as documented by previous videos in addition to being either incredibly stupid or ignorant at times. However, he’s not going to be able to downplay one lie in the interview he stated in his so-called defense that destroys his entire narrative. Paraphrasing, I don’t know how the bullet got into the gun because there were no live rounds on the set. That has been debunked by law enforcement and production members. In closing, there seems to be more going on regarding this incident than is being revealed.
Actors are often idiots who can memorize a fanciful line and play somebody else of perceived substance.
I rest my case here.
This is a man who plays dress up and make believe for a living. A mere vessel following orders: wear this. Stand here. Say this. Do this. Please!
So the story is probably is a means of trying to weasel out of responsibility, but it’s also exempt from the hearsay rules and can be used against him in court. If he had half a brain, he would’ve already settled the two lawsuits against him before even letting them get filed, but here he is doing interviews while under potential threat of criminal charges. I don’t think he’s all that bright.
I’m still thinking this whole incident was a union protest that got out of hand. I theorize a disgruntled union member just simply stuck a live round in a gun being used on the set, never thinking for a second that this loaded gun would ever be discharged. My theory is this angry union member “knew” the round would be discovered and would have caused a minor uproar on set and maybe shut things down until it was discovered who did what. The union people were furious about conditions on the set and again, my thinking, this little stunt would have served as a warning to the producers that other things might “go wrong”.
I don’t believe Baldwin knew the live round was in the gun but he was negligent as were other people in that particular gun’s chain of custody.
I would think this particular union member will tell someone what they did because the guilt must be overwhelming.
Alec Baldwin can’t even own up to the fact that he failed to double check that loaded gun because he is the consumate weasel.
(Apologies to all weasels, rats, snakes and ostriches.)
From the For Whatever It’s Worth Department: I was in the Painter’s Union which had jurisdiction over union floor covering installations while I lived in Albuquerque. Almost everyone I worked with were Chicano and beyond reproach, unlike my experience working with union people in NYC.
I was just thinking this, but it’s so weird, he could just say as much and some lackey would go down in his place most likely. But he doesn’t. Somebody else posted that there’s a lot more going on here than what we’re being told. Hubris, stupidity? Both?
For Baldwin to say as much would probably end with him being blacklisted in Hollywood. Law enforcement or journalists can bring this idea to the fore, but not Ole Deadeye Baldwin.
Seems something like that is refuted via extensive runs demonstrating that gun never, ever, firing without someone pulling the trigger
