Growing up when I did, tv and movies, even in school portrayed the west, especially Texas, as having some mighty tough men. From what we have witnessed over the past 40 years, like our Greatest Generation, they just don’t make them like that anymore.
When I read comments that speak about our gun ownership, refreshing the Tree of Liberty, etc., it hits me as adolescent bravado, but I now see it almost as “stolen valor”. It will take much more than talk of patriotism.
We are not made of the same fabric of our ancestors and forefathers. Couldn’t even discard a paper mask.
When the Federal Gov doesn’t do its job (and it really only has a few things it’s supposed to be doing per our founding documents)…and the carpet bagger family Bush and his northerner buddies go along with it; you see what happens.
Have you ever been to Texas? You really do enjoy looking down your nose at people, don’t you? You just aren’t happy unless you are judging others, are you? A couple of days ago..it was President Trump. Now Texans.

There are other and better alternatives. Getting a medical cannibas card means as much in the world of medical treatment as a fake ID to an underage drinker. Anyone can get one and it often comes with devastating consequences, not just for the user, but for those who become victims of the impaired user.
We have been sold a bill of goods with the “miraculous” uses of cannibas. Brought to us by the “peace, drugs, sex” generation who systematically changed our morals, institutions and culture. They are now in charge.

I am not a physician and without knowing the extent of your injuries, medical history and other factors, impossible to give a definitive answer, but therapies such as PT, pain management, centers who take a holistic approach and even surgical intervention are just some alternatives.

A new COVID-19 proof-of-vaccination law in Los Angeles that requires those ages 12 and up to be fully vaccinated or have a recent negative COVID-19 test to enter most indoor businesses and public areas went into effect on Monday.
The new ordinance had a remarkably quick turnaround time from draft to law. Originally proposed in late September, a final vote on the ordinance came only weeks later, with the Los Angeles City Council voting 11-2 to put the new ordinance into effect. According to the ordinance, full proof of vaccination is now needed to enter most indoor places of business including restaurants, bars, movie theaters, arenas, convention centers, gyms, salons, and other public areas.

I live in San Francisco, and since the Pandemic hit, U-Haul Trucks were in such demand that the quarterly earnings for U-Haul reflected it.
Why do I mention U-Haul and it’s Earning growth? If you look at the San Francisco Department of Elections page and look up the number of registered voters from 2016 to the present, you’ll notice… it didn’t go down during Covid… in fact the number of Registered Voters increased in 2021.
The increase in registered voters wasn’t egregiously large , but enough to question as people HAVE BEEN MOVING OUT (it has slowed down lately). The Exodous here was enough so that Rents in San Francisco actually started to go DOWN and create a surplus of Units on the Rental Scene!
So if people have been moving out of California in general to the point of record earnings for Moving Companies, and vastly Blue Cities in California are still showing INCREASING Voting Rolls, something smells… and I don’t mean just the Bart Stations here in San Francisco!
Until Conservatives in California take a stand and be as vocal as the Demoncrats– the Demoncats and their RINO enablers here will KEEP CHEATING, and they’ll keep inflate the Rolls with Blue Voters.

Faced with soaring Ds and Fs, schools are ditching the old way of grading.
Los Angeles and San Diego Unified — the state’s two largest school districts, with some 660,000 students combined — have recently directed teachers to base academic grades on whether students have learned what was expected of them during a course — and not penalize them for behavior, work habits and missed deadlines.
The district’s guidance says academic grades should not be based on attendance, including unexcused absences, late work, engagement or behavior, which can be reflected in separate “citizenship” or “work habits” marks that do not count toward a student’s GPA.
There were also significant gaps in the rate of students meeting University of California and California State University admissions requirements, which say students must complete certain courses with a C or better. During the 2018-19 school year, about 59% of students met the requirements. For the class of 2022, about 46% of students are on track to meet the requirements — with a gap of 17 percentage points or more between Black and Latino students and white and Asian students.

I fail to see how striving to be mediocre is going to help anyone in the long run.
So only 59% got a C or better. Obviously we have to lower the standards of what it takes to get a “barely adequate” rather than be introspective. But I’m sure those on this message board are on the same wavelength, that the schools themselves need to look at why students got pushed along into subjects they were unprepared for.
The problems start in junior high and elementary; high school is the culmination. Maybe we should have declared 2020 a failure and have a grand do over instead of shuffling kids forward and eliminating standards.
U-CA and U-CA-State don’t mind they get a boat loads of money, from all sources, to conduct remedial classes to “fix the problem”.
Very marginally related but interesting tidbit I learned yesterday, is that the current president of China spent several of his formative years living in Iowa.
Don’t get me started on this topic… beginning of this year we got an email that we can change last school year grades to pass/fail… my HS athlete, straight A student… I think we’re going to take a hard pass on that. All recent hires are underqualified in our District!
Then came the new “we need equity in AP classes”… NorCal schools (red county). These MFs want you dumb as dirt. We have a large group of HS teachers breaking off the Union now and we’re talking with neighbors on getting together for 6-8 kids and paying one teacher to “homeschool” if this goes further. Husband wants to stay and fight… I’m thinking KY or ID. I can’t be surrounded by this level of stupidity for much longer.
“Fully vaccinated” (whatever that now means since nearly NO “vaccinated” people still have any immunity) are now able to fly internationally again as US reopens to flights from the UK.
“Un-vaccinated”(with natural immunity or not) are essentially forbidden to leave the country or re-arrive. We are near prisoners.

As has the number of vaccinations our kids are required to get to go to public school already. It’s something like 34? So glad my kids are grown, but my grandkids! And I care about all kids really, I just can’t hardly handle all this day in and day out. We are fighting to protect my granddaughter who is 10. Her dad wants her to get the shot. Mom and I don’t. They are divorced and my granddaughter has anxiety over this and the divorce and everything, so she is already currently in counseling. I hope he doesn’t do this without anyone’s consent especially my precious granddaughter.
