The off-year elections take place in various states and municipalities today. The Virginia and New Jersey governors races will be decided along with the New York City mayoral race and numerous other regional elections in FL, OH, MN, PA and MI.
Virginia will be the most watched race as polls close at 7:00pm ET. Virginia passed a new law last year requiring counties to pre-process absentee ballots before the election, which should allow officials to report the result of the advance vote soon after the polls close. However, if you see those previously processed absentee ballots ‘NOT REPORTED’ early that would indicate the vote counters holding back ballot harvest results until they figure out how many they need.
The media will use these early results, likely favorable to Terry McAuliffe, in order to set the tone according to party position and direction from the executive media suites.
Oh look, the Virginia elections board won’t have results till November 15th. Haha. What a stinking joke.

Not to be a wet blanket, but I am not comfortable that this is over. According to VA census data, Fairfax county population is 1,147,532. Of that 77% (N=883,600) are over 18. As of a few minutes ago, Fairfax voting results showed 293,418 votes cast (in person and mail). That leaves 590,000 residents who haven’t “voted”. Youngkin has a 9%+ lead or 174,110 vote lead. A 200,000 mail ballot vote drop is no challenge for the Democrats, especially with the Friday deadline.
We need more desks to call it to make it more difficult/unbelievable that the drop is anything but fraud. Additionally, with a new R AG their may be a fear that a new AG will really pursue voter fraud investigations, especially in Fairfax county. To have one county override the state’s wishes may just be too telling and the Ds may let this one go to protect their steal play for future elections.
