Two suicide bombing attacks in Kabul have resulted in American, allied and civilian casualties. Both blasts were just outside the gates of the Kabul International Airport. One detonation at the “Abbey Gate”, and the second detonation appears to have happened between the Baron Hotel and the “Baron Gate” entrance.
There are U.S., U.K. and civilian casualties. The Associated Press is reporting 13 fatalities. Pentagon Spokesperson John Kirby confirmed some of the original, albeit sketchy, details:

At least 13 people were killed and 15 wounded, Russian officials said.
A U.S. official said the complex attack was “definitely believed” to have been carried out by the Islamic State group, whose affiliate in Afghanistan grew out of disaffected Taliban members who hold an even more extreme view of Islam.
At least 13 people died and 15 were wounded, according to Russia’s Foreign Ministry, which gave the first official casualty count. Pentagon spokesman John Kirby also confirmed the blasts, saying one was near an airport entrance and another was a short distance away by a hotel.
The U.S. official said members of the U.S. military were among the wounded. The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss ongoing operations.
Even as the area was hit, the official said evacuation flights continued to take off from Kabul airport, which Western governments earlier warned was a target.
One explosion went off in a crowd of people waiting to enter the airport, according to Adam Khan, an Afghan waiting nearby. He said several people appeared to have been killed or wounded, including some who lost body parts.
The Taliban condemned the attack, saying it happened it an area controlled by U.S. forces. (read more)

A Taliban official said at least 13 people were killed in the blast, including children, and many Taliban guards were wounded. A U.S. official, citing initial information, told Reuters as many as 5 U.S. military personnel may have been hurt, including at least one seriously.
A surgical hospital run by an Italian charity said it was treating more than 60 wounded. The attacks came after the United States and allies urged Afghans to leave the area because of a threat by Islamic State militants. (read more)

Bottom line is that after the frozen and canned goods are depleted, we will be living on hunting (for a while) or beans and rice/corn, which form a complete protein and provide carbohydrates. Add edible oils for energy. Coffee, tea, etc.
Don’t forget water. Bottled water works, 55 gallon BPA-free blue water barrels work better. Berkey gravity fed water filters are also essential.

I live near a large military base in Texas and have been talking to some that are still in. They are seeing a lot of refugees being housed on post. Funny thing is, you don’t see a lot of women and children.
