My French cousin visiting here a few years ago had a horrible accident that caused him to suffer lingering in a coma with several broken bones.
His parents flew over here to give support during his recovery and were just astonished at our American hospitals and health care system.
Because he was on French national type ( socialist) or what Europeans call free health care his care here was monitored a bit with the medical professionals in France.
And because it was the type of crappy system over there and cheaper keeping him here was more expensive.
The French medical professionals wanted him “back” much sooner than the American doctors caring for him felt was safe and his parents wanted him to stay here until he was completely healthy.
The American doctors were able to keep him here for a while but as soon as he was barely possible to travel the French system had him on a plan and back in their cheap system.
My cousin was a young, strong healthy person but I often wonder how people who are not quite as young and strong and healthy can survive a system that does not seem to put the patient interests even close to first.
It is all about the money and not about the service.
I hope this woman in the video and her family scream to the high heavens about her treatment.
