Just watched a video posted by a soul I believe to be seriously “connected” titled “The deep truth of eternal life”.
So I figured since we do indeed have some role in determining our “reward” – I figured since I’ve always believed, being an avid (but average) surfer in my day (balance gone to cp now though), ,my reward would be a return to perfect balance and an endless wave. Surely can’t be much of a request can it??.
Never thought of afterlife in that vein. Maybe endless perfect days of August on Lake Michigan? No video link…. Only in my memories. Thank you
Weather:
From the 2nd week of August on things are going to get interesting. Madden Julian Oscillation (MJO) moving back towards sector 1-2 which are conducive for Atlantic Hurricane formation. Heavy precip SE of India in the Indian ocean is also a strong sign that the Atlantic is going to fire up. Give it two weeks and things are going to start looking very active in the Atlantic Basin and most likely it will be the Gulf that sees the first activity. Then it is looking like African waves will start firing up and marching across the MDR (Main Development Region) of the Atlantic.
For the next week heavier than average precip stretching from eastern New Mexico across Texas and all of the Gulf Coast states. Looks like southern Mississippi and Alabama are in for the heaviest.
The hype about wild fires out west in the US is just that. We are actually below average for area burned at this point in the year and it looks like much of the areas where fires are burning now are in for heavier than average precip in about two weeks. Actually looking likely that this year will end up as below average for area burned in the US.
However the Northern Plains are dryer than normal and it is looking like they are going to stay that way for awhile and so the panic mongers will be able to hype drought in between Tropical Storms/Hurricanes.

Are we playing the spiritual amateur providence in other lives? Are we so noisy in our instruction of others that God cannot get anywhere near them? We have to keep our mouths shut and our spirits alert. God wants to instruct us in regard to His Son, He wants to turn our times of prayer into mounts of transfiguration, and we will not let Him. When we are certain of the way God is going to work, He will never work in that way any more.
HE WORKS WHERE HE SENDS US TO WAIT:

Wait on God and He will work, but don’t wait in spiritual sulks because you cannot see an inch in front of you! Are we detached enough from our own spiritual hysterics to wait on God? To wait is not to sit with folded hands, but to learn to do what we are told.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

And, yes, she actually plays ALL of the instruments – guitars, bass, drums, and does the vocals.
My favorite of those single artist albums is Tubular Bells by Michael Oldfield. Although in videos it is played by multiple artists on the different instruments on the original album it was Oldfield that played it all. It gets my vote for the most original piece of modern music composed in my lifetime! Simple and complex at the same time and defies genre classification. It remains without equal IMO.

A modification of an 0ld home mousetrap. Originally, ramps are placed against a bucket and about a foot of water is put in the bucket, filling it about half way. Dried oatmeal or some such enticement is floated on the top, covering the surface of the water. Mice smell the oats, climb the ramp, hop in to get the oats, and …. how long can they tread water? I never liked it. I think it’s cruel. I much prefer the spring traps. Instant death if done correctly. What’s my name?
The problem with spring traps is they often don’t trip on the little ones. I had to use the sticky paper to get them.

More likely it’s bc it’s pickling season, the same reason I wanted to purchase them.
However. Adding to my disgruntled old lady soul’s unhappiness, while standing in front of the spices, trying to understand why, for the first time in my lifetime, there was no mustard seeds in the spice aisle, I noticed a man with the same perplexed face.
A large, tall, well built (muscular) casually, but neatly dressed in basketball shorts Hispanic man. I smiled (I lived in NJ for several years and people talk to strangers in grocery stores there… I’m close to the Delaware River/state line). I said that I couldn’t believe they were out of mustard seeds.
He scowled. But not unkindly. I asked in my heavily English accented Spanish, “no habla English?”
Brief shake of head, back to studying the shelf next to spices.
(I also lived in western states and understand purposeful no habla English, this didn’t seem that case, but who knows)
So. We are still having canning jar shortage. Food prices are way up. Random Food shortages are now common place. AND! We are opened up to all and sundry who want to buy Special K and spices but can’t speak English.
Why? The misc outstandingly rude people that I met today.(it was a bad day) made me ask the check out hs person if a local team had lost or something happened I didn’t know about?
He replied,”it’s a Dark day. These are Dark days.”
On the bright side. The young person with a shaved head, breasts and a definitely male name on her/his name tag was quite nice and helpful and laughed at my joke when he/she helped me with produce.
On the other side, I don’t have enough mustard seed for my pickles and my husband and kids have forbidden me from going alone to grocery store for the next few months….or with them.
I’m so sad and confused. And afraid. I don’t understand the rules any more. Truly, in not in the throes of onset dementia….
