Years ago when I was in my freshman year in college studying engineering there were a couple of students in a few of my classes who were really struggling and they eventually dropped out of the degree program for remedial classes.
At first I just thought they weren’t smart, but then I learned they came from the Philadelphia School district and they were just unprepared for math and other science courses at this level. I bet they were near the top of their graduating class at their high school.
Low expectations and crappy public schools are the problems.
when I went about ten years ago, incoming freshmen required remedial math and English courses at a rate of 60% because public schools had ill-prepared them for any advanced education
I have also read studies showing AA has been disastrous for minorities placing them in programs beyond their abilities resulting in HIGHER rates of failure in college than had they been placed in their requisite skill level

I agree wholeheartedly. My father was born in 1923. He went to segregated schools all the way through college. He became a physician and had a long, successful career.
My mother was born in 1932. She was a chem major/math minor coming out of all segregated schools. She worked at the University of San Francisco Medical Center in the Infectious Diseases department as a researcher for most of her working career.
I had an uncle who was a pediatrician and an aunt who was a nurse (and went back to school to become an attorney).
All of them came out of segregated schools where they got EXCELLENT educations. They were black, all of their teachers were black and there were no excuses accepted for inferior performance.
Public schools these days are a disaster. There are several factors that factor into the absence of black people in certain fields but awful, inner city public schools with pathetically low expectations of black children certainly plays a significant role.

You know something? I remember reading an article about Texas governor Rick Perry, and I believe it was written sometime after his poor showing in a debate.
Someone who knew him said that what people saw as stupidity may just have been the result of him being poorly educated in inferior schools.
It happens to whites at times too.
I can’t remember when they last taught debate in my area schools… it had to be pre-80’s. It was never offered to us nor even talked about.
Maybe if folks had learned how to make their points to win debates, we wouldn’t be in such the mess we’re in today. Modern debate takes the form of the wonderful airport videos or shootouts we seem to get on a weekly basis.

Seems the sitting politicians/bureaucrats at the county and state levels had decided a jail with lake and/or forest views would just the thing to have grand effects upon the correctional activities of the inmates. After the mayor and selected county/state officials got their heads handed to them while trying to make the case for building the jail in violation of and in spite of all the regulated protections, the police chief got up and set most of that part of the state on fire when he said in his exaggerated Texas accent.

IMO, the Stock Market is being heavily manipulated (propped-up) by the Federal Reserve Central Band and the US Treasury. However, I think the Investment Bankers such as Black Rock are also in on the deal. The Investment Bankers are “playing” it with your own retirement money.
This is “good” they do because it keeps your retirement funds high. Right now with Joe Biden and his policies, the present Stock market levels doesn’t make sense…too me anyway. It is why I advise Treepers to talk to their advisers and asses your situation.
A lot is going to be transpiring politically in the next several months. Depending on the results, it could have a critical influence on the Stock market one way or other. I know a number of Treepers are basically standing aside and I think it is a wise decision right now.
The question is how long can the; US Treasury, Central Bank and Investment Bankers “manipulate”?
Almost 45 % of the S&P 500 (500 largest stocks index) is concentrated in Facebook, Apple, Amazon Netflix, Google and MSFT. This is is how the market is influenced.

The problem is there is too much money getting dumped in the market every month. Probably not going to change until boomer money goes negative.
That is another reason the FANG stocks go up so. They are the only ones that can handle the enormous cash flow. Small cap doesn’t necessarily mean more aggressive or volatile. At sometime that will be the value point. Also note that indexing is not as effective in Small and Midcaps.

The price of Silver or a Gold Mining stock should work fine. An ETF full of Futures contracts may not perform as expected especially in volatile markets
Where I see the money being dumped in the Stock Market is the Federal Reserve Central Bank, US Treasury and Investment Bankers. I don’t think Individuals are necessarily doing the “propping up”.
The Stock Market has been in flat 2,000 point range since the first of the year. This seems more like a manipulative “propping up” than trending anywhere up or down. Individuals seem to be standing aside as some posters on this website has said so.
I guess it could be said if you are tied up in a managed account with an Investment Banker such as Black Rock, you are part of the “propping up” and doing well so far.

Toyota Will Stop Donating to Republicans Who Objected to Election Certification

Toyota is the latest company to back away because of the cancel culture crowd. They have announced that will no longer contribute to Republicans who voted against the certification of the 2020 election.
The Japanese automaker announced on Thursday when just two weeks ago they defended those very same contributions. They were threatened by the neo-liberals, The Lincoln Project.
Now, Toyota says that their shareholders were unhappy with the donations and they will halt them immediately.
They will continue to contribute to Democrats. They will also have to pay homage to the Lincoln Project.
The Lincoln Project also criticized the cable company Comcast for refusing to air their advertisement and “opting instead to shield corporate advertisers,” the group said in a tweet. Comcast owns NBCUniversal, the parent company of NBC News. A representative for Comcast did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
“We do not believe it is appropriate to judge members of Congress solely based on their votes on the electoral certification. Based on our thorough review, we decided against giving to some members who, through their statements and actions, undermine the legitimacy of our elections and institutions,” a company spokesperson said previously.

Either the “vaccines” are safe and effective, in which case all restrictions need to be lifted, or they are not safe and effective and they need to be withdrawn asap. You can’t have it both ways.
The seven point plan will expose criminals who then are tried as criminals and face the reality of jail time. Now this is reason for concern if you happen to be one of the criminals.
If you are one of the criminal targets, you have no choice but to fight with all the lies you can possibly muster. It is then you must rely on other criminals above you who decide your fate.
It has worked in the past. Your one and only hope is it works again. At this point I wouldn’t bet either way, but then again, you have only one satisfactory bet for You.
So, how are we going to get 17 Democrat votes in the Senate to impeach Biden and Harris.

It certainly is explosive. It is posted and I commented up thread. EVERY participant here owes it to their knowledge base to watch this video. It is fully documented with patent information and it should be noted that the data is presented via an organization that tracks patents. The implications of this data are many. I fear for those who fearfully or trustingly have taken this vaccine. They have not taken a vaccine. They have injected a spike protein, with unknown consequences into their bodies. The changes it makes are irreversible. Truly frightening. And all those in cohoots to silence the flow of information should be prosecuted and Gates and Fauci and Daszak and their co-conspirators should be executed.

We need a cleansing of the Federal Gov’t, with like bleach. Also, the Patent process must be revamped. I’ve said it before, and will continue to, I believe in the ability to protect your intellectual property; however, the Gov’t should not be able to Patent anything. When people get a Patent it should protect intellectual property they are actively bringing to the market or developing technology to make feasible, it should not be a means to stifle innovation and keep ideas from flourishing.

I watched a movie yesterday called The Little Things with Denzel Washington and Rami Malek. It was about 2 cops trying to solve a serial killer case together. At some point in the movie they believed their serial killer went to Detroit for awhile. One asked if there were any unsolved female murders there. The other laughed and said something like, “It’s Detroit!”, implying that it’s a given. My mind immediately went to election fraud.

Twitter/Facebook/Google and other social media have systematically censored conservative political speech up to and including President Trump. They have declared conservative opinion to be hate and violence.
As representatives for conservative Americans, we hereby rise to defend our membership. We act in unison to:
-immediately remove section 230 protection
-declare these multinational corporations to be illegal monopolies which must be broken up
-declare that all censorship of conservatives is illegal and move to assist in legal representation of conservatives wherever possible.
-declare that all spying on US citizens is illegal whether done for profit or in service to government bureaucracies such as the FBI/CIA/NSA and all others.
We will introduce all necessary laws to effect these acts. We will continue to introduce them until they are finally voted into law and we will never stop.
We will fight the tech oligarchs as a party and with all the resources and funding available to us collectively. We will not call for hearings or for talk. The censorship and aggression against conservatives must stop now.
We will act in alliance with other political interests, even from the left, if they serve to fulfill some aspect of these goals and do not in any way benefit these corporations. We do this as a minority party to shorten the time required to bring action against these monopolies. We will fully implement our own legislation as a majority party.
