It’s long been my contention that one (of several) weaknesses in modern “Praise” music compared to Traditional Hymnody is Tradition Hymns are written for and in harmony.
Who knows how much “Spiritual Freight” we are missing because of that?
One of the beauties of harmony is the elimination of ego. Each member’s voice is woven with the others.’

For those old enough to remember these types of harmonies were the start of many great groups of the 50s, 60s & 70s.

We are right in the middle of this process currently, which is why everything feels so batshit crazy. The global capitalist ruling classes are implementing a new official ideology, in other words, a new “reality.” That’s what an official ideology is. It’s more than just a set of beliefs. Anyone can have any beliefs they want. Your personal beliefs do not constitute “reality.” In order to make your beliefs “reality,” you need to have the power to impose them on society. There is nothing subtle about this process. Decommissioning one “reality” and replacing it with another is a brutal business. IMO the F.P article is accurate. In the case of Canada as one might expect the wealth is primarily in residential Real Estate, which for decades now has been viewed as an “asset class” as opposed to a home.
Canadians do not get mortgage interest rate tax deduction on a residential mortgage if the live in the home, however nor do they pay capital gains on the sale of said property.
However they do get a tax deduction on interest and other expenses on a rental home. This is an area where many savvy Canadians do quite well.
