Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Determining What is Acceptable to God
By Pastor Paul M. Sadler
“Living the Christian life can be challenging at times. How do we determine what is acceptable to God when there is no direct command of Christ?”
The Word of God is always relevant—it transcends the ages! If a particular matter isn’t dealt with specifically in Paul’s writings, we are to defer to a broader principle. For example, you may want to ask yourself the question, will my action or participation in something glorify God? If you have any reservations whatsoever, you are probably skating on thin ice. Paul says, “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God” (I Cor. 10:31).
Another principle to apply is to “prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil” (I Thes. 5:21,22). Proving has the sense of putting things to a test. If you are remodeling an old house and the steps going upstairs look unsafe, you naturally make sure that the steps will hold your weight before you attempt to ascend the stairs. We wouldn’t think of placing ourselves in harm’s way—the same should also be true of our spiritual life.
Test: Should we take possession of something that is not rightfully ours? To illustrate, what would you do if you came across a satchel of money sitting beside a park bench? Often, examining the conduct of a servant of God in such matters will help determine whether our actions will be acceptable to the Lord.
When the Apostle Paul won Onesimus to Christ at Rome he could have reasoned that since this runaway slave’s slate was wiped clean from past offenses he would claim him as his own. After all, think how profitable Onesimus could have been to Paul in the work of the ministry. But Onesimus rightfully belonged to Philemon, so the aged apostle returned him, along with a letter, to allow his coworker in the faith to make that decision. In other words, he didn’t simply assume his friend would understand, he did what was right. The Lord will handsomely reward Paul for his good deed at the Judgment Seat of Christ. What would you do if you found yourself in a similar set of circumstances?

1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
1 Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
You ask – “How do we determine what is acceptable to God when there is no direct command of Christ?”
Your answer “The Word of God is always relevant—it transcends the ages!” is correct. There is no question, no circumstance, no “precedent”, no act of man that has not, and is not answered in the holy scriptures – the truth is, the truth – irrelevant of our understanding or interpretation, remains the truth – from the beginning, and for ever and ever – Amen.
Our greatest challenge, and has probably always been so, is to determine whether the “answer” we “receive” or understand is from God or is an interpretation we (man) would like to see – usually to ease our burden we tend “agree” with ourselves.
Paul says, “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God” (I Cor. 10:31). CORRECT.
Another principle to apply is to “prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil” (I Thes. 5:21,22) CORRECT.
You are close to the truth my friend, your heart and path is righteous, yet there appears to be great resistance by some, good and honest men – perhaps it is not easy to alter a lifetime of “understanding” – however if one maintains your “prove all things……” principal, one is on the right path. Bless all of you here, we have some fine spiritual warriors –

Gawd, I love this song. Get out of your seat, people!
Kat Edmundson is a, as yet, underappreciated singer-songwriter. Here are some performances of here’s where she shows us how to find real musical magic . . .
This one of my favorites. Surely it’s “cold outside”somewhere tonight . . .
Second star to the right, then straight on ’til morning . . . Believe it.
Thank you Garrison. Always look foward to sitting on my branch here at the treehouse in the evening and enjoying your musical choices and commentary.
And with my persistent typos you can have the added challenge of trying to decipher just what the heck I’m talking about . . . 🙂

This was fun, thanks
Have a wonderful Sunday, Treepers. May we all share in our Lord’s Grace on this special day. Always remember this: He is always with us if we simply invite Him into our hearts. Our Lord is real. His love for us in real. His forgiveness of our sins is real. He will always come to us. All we have to do is ask. Be well, Treeper friends.
Lost a good friend a year ago to COVID. We had the memorial service today. The best man in my wedding sang this song.
I’ve been disconnected in interaction from CTH, but hope to reengage. I’ve missed you. Hope to be gearing up to next election cycle. I have been walking the walk though and have been buoyed by the support of our past relationship.
Welcome back! We are missing a lot of good folks, I hope more find their way home.
Truth
What is truth indeed. Philosophically one might answer, truth IS God, truth is the Word. However we (humans/man) can never and will never attain true “truth” – well, simply because the projected conclusion is absurd, impossible. Think of it like this – imagine a cross section of the earth crust from the shoreline to the middle of the ocean depths. Your drawing/profile would run a line, shallow near the shore (beach) progressing deeper and deeper until the 2 mile deep “depths”. This is like our level of “understanding” – those near the water can “sense” it’s welcoming, but may remain on the warm sand, perhaps fearful of it’s “touch”, others will wade deeper, unafraid and enjoy it’s wonders. Still others may explore deeper and deeper, discovering many, until then “unseen” wonders. So how does one fathom where or how deep one is, or if just having the toes wet is enough? The answer is actually quite simple – each to his own understanding – which can be perfectly fine and rewarding, even enough. Others will be drawn deeper and deeper, until the obvious becomes clear – the more you learn, the more you realize the less you know, that this “deep” is not our oceans 2 mile, but infinity, known ONLY to the Creator in it’s absolute truth. We cannot but be completely humbled by the unimaginable majesty.
NATIONAL AMERICAN EAGLE DAY
Each year on June 20th, National American Eagle Day honors our national symbol, raising awareness for protecting the Bald Eagle. The day also encourages the recovery of their natural environments while providing educational outreach.
The Bald Eagle is both the national bird and the national animal of The United States of America and appears on its Seal.
In the latter 20th century, the Bald Eagle hovered on the brink of extinction in the continental United States. Eventually, populations recovered and on July 12, 1995, the species was removed from the U.S. Federal Government’s List of Endangered Species and transferred to the List of Threatened Species. In June of 2007, as the species continued to thrive, the American Eagle was withdrawn from the List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife in the Lower 48 States.
Had one fly in front of my truck in southern, IN last week. Woods on both sides of the road and it just swooped down going from one side of the road to the other. Glad I missed it.
There is a Bald Eagle nest atop a very tall communications antenna which I pass every day on my way to work. I noticed it last year. The day I spotted both eagles up in it, was a thrill to me.
I too had a Bald Eagle fly in front of my car several years ago. It was beautiful. What is very interesting is that I had just been thinking about my Dad, who passed some months before this. I had some tears in my eyes as I was reflecting on how much I missed him, and our talks. Just as I turned down one of the side roads that I have to take to get to work…The eagle flew over my car, and swooped down into the tobacco field next to the road. I KNEW it was my Daddy “communicating” to me.
Went Walleye fishing with Dad and a bunch of his buddies up at a reservoir in Manitoba, CA. We would go out in the morning and keep enough of the fish that fell into the size slot for lunch. For lunch we would all land ashore on an island in the lake for “shore lunch”.
The guide would fillet the fish using an oar as a cutting board. Whole squadrons of bald eagles would be circling overhead as he filleted those fish and he would chuck the unusable parts up into the air and an eagle would grab it before it hit the water.
Those shore lunches were wonderful. The fish as fresh as could be. He used evaporated milk to drench them and then breaded them in their own concoction. Fried over a camp fire in cooking oil in an expedition sized skillet. Fried potatoes and onions fried in another expedition sized skillet and a few cans of beans and corn cooked right in their cans over the fire rounded out the meal. We brought our own vodka to have an adult beverage with our meal.
After lunch it was back into the boats to fish the rest of the afternoon but we didn’t keep any that we caught. Too expensive to bring them back to the states with us.
Then after a day of fishing it was back to the cabins and then down to dinner at the lodge for what was always an excellent meal. Then back to the cabins for more adult beverages and to play poker until bed time. The next morning they would bring coffee and rolls for breakfast to the cabin, and then down we went to the boats for another day of fishing.
It week of fishing was one of those time with my Dad that I will never forget.
SUMMER BEGINS
On the longest day of the year, Summer Begins in the Northern Hemisphere. It is also known as the Summer Solstice, which happens either on June 20th, 21st, or 22nd. It all depends on the time zone in which you live.
With the Summer Solstice, the astronomical calendar marks the first day of summer as the Earth’s axis is pointed toward the sun. It’s rays more directly impact the Northern Hemisphere giving us more daylight and more warmth. It’s a time when plants grow rapidly and animals are more active. That includes humans.
Mornin all.
Last week was a long one. Left out at 21:00 last Sunday night for Marion, IL. On arrival there I backed into that dead end street and took my break. For the rest of the week I did that Toyota Service Parts run.
Two stops in Marion, drive up I-57 to I-64 east to US 41 in Indiana. Take that north to Princeton, IN to a stop a few miles north of the big Toyota plant there. And then up US 41 to Vincennes, IN to catch US 50 West back into IL to Lawrenceville, IL for a stop. From there going back east on US 50 and US 60 to I-65 south down to the Love’s truck stop in Memphis, IN to meet a driver from the T0yota Distribution Center in Hebron, KY. where we traded trailers and paperwork and I then drive back to Marion, IL to take break and then do it again the next morning.
Saturday got my yard mowed despite the threat of Thunderstorms we have had for several days. Today, I’m grill master at my Dads house for Fathers Day. Sherry had the Burgers and Hotdogs with all the fixings ready in the fridge. That doesn’t start until 16:00 today and then at 21:00 I will be hitting the road again. This time I will run north up to Ligonier, IN and drop a trailer in the door at a TENNECO plant there. Then I hook to another trailer in the door and take it down to the TENNECO plant in Jeffersonville, IN down near Louisville to get unloaded and reloaded. Then I bring that trailer back to the terminal in Anderson, IN.
So I’ll be driving all night.
We have been short one salary driver for a couple weeks and another has been on vacation during that time so the remaining 4 of us have been kept darn busy. Tomorrow the guy on vacation comes back and we get two new salary drivers bringing the total up to seven. The company wants eight but nobody has signed up for that final position yet.
Some of the auto companies will be starting shutdowns to change their lines over for the production of the 2022 model year vehicles and that should bring us some welcome relief for the first couple weeks of July.
In Illinois it is still masks everywhere. In Indiana it is now practically no masks anywhere.
Thank you FATHER GOD from whom all blessings flow! May we learn as fathers to live by your Commandments and diligently teach them to our children. Earthly dads on occasion fall short of loved ones expectations but their mistakes often turn out to be great moments of blessing and enlightenment for all the members of the family. We as Believers are The family of God. Sounds kinda nice doesn’t it?
Altogether now, AMEN

HAVE YOU COME TO “WHEN” YET?
“And the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends.” Job xlii. 10
The plaintive, self-centered, morbid kind of prayer, a dead-set that I want to be right, is never found in the New Testament. The fact that I am trying to be right with God is a sign that I am rebelling against the Atonement. “Lord, I will purify my heart if You will answer my prayer; I will walk rightly if You will help me.” I CANNOT make myself right with God, I CANNOT make my life perfect; I can only be right with God if I accept the Atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ as an absolute gift. Am I humble enough to accept it? I have to resign every kind of claim and cease from every effort, and leave myself entirely alone in His hands, and then begin to pour out in the priestly work of intercession. There is much prayer that arises from real disbelief in the Atonement. Jesus is not beginning to save us, He has saved us, the thing is done, and it is an insult to ask Him to do it.
If you are not getting the hundredfold more, not getting insight into God’s word, then start praying for your friends, enter into the ministry of the interior. “The Lord turned the captivity of Job WHEN HE PRAYED FOR HIS FRIENDS.” The real business of your life as a saved soul is intercessory prayer. Wherever God puts you in circumstances, pray immediately, pray that His Atonement may be realized in other lives as it has been in yours. Pray for your friends NOW; pray for those with whom you come in contact NOW.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, amen.
A post about a brave young man, the music he played, and his role on D-day. I will post this in two parts so hopefully it won’t get tanked by the board monitors.
The “Mad Piper” Gold Beach, Normandy, June 6th, 1944
Part I.
https://th.bing.com/th/id/OIP.msI9agaqyLmQfa8gChMn9QHaEo?w=254&h=180&c=7&o=5&dpr=1.25&pid=1.7
Bill Milan was the piper for Lord Lovat (Simon Fraser) . Fraser, a Scott with that ancient Scottish title, was the man who got the British Commando’s started with the blessing of Winston Churchill. He would be seriously wounded on June 12th by a short round from friendly artillery and his war would be over.
As far as I am concerned the bagpipes are a warriors instrument. The British high command had specifically ordered that Pipes would not be played in combat but Lovat ignored the that order telling his piper that they were both Scottish and so the order did not apply to them.
On D-day Lovat led the 1st British Special Service Commando Brigade ashore on Sword Beach. His Brigades mission was to relieve Major John Howard and his Ox & Bucks which had taken two bridges in a daring glider assault just after midnight.
The bridges were vital for the D-Day plan. Sword Beach was the closest to the greatest concentration of German forces amassed around the Pas de Calais where the most of the German high command thought the allies would try to invade.
One of the bridges, the most famous, called the Pegasus bridge, crossed the barge canal that ran from Caen to the coastal town of Ouistreham. The other bridge spanned the Orne River. Both bridges could provide the Germans with a high speed avenue of approach for the massive German forces at the Pas de Calais to attack the eastern flank of the Normandy landings. But they could also be blown by the Germans to bottle up the British on Sword Beach to prevent them from penetrating further north and east and thus the Germans had both bridges rigged for demolition if necessary. So taking the bridges intact was just as vital to the invaders as it was for the German defenders to hold them or blow them to deny their use to the British.
Howard and his Ox & Bucks had taken the bridges but Lovat’s Commandos had to get there to relieve them as soon as possible because Howards men were unlikely to be able to hold them for long against the strong German units that could counterattack.
Contrary to the depiction in the movie The Longest Day, Lovat’s Commandos did not come ashore from landing craft with with a single ramp. They came ashore in LCI’s (Landing Craft Infantry) which were like small ships with two ramps and looked like this: &ehk=XNjEx8yG50qh5GpH1YCL6ACB5iDUtnf7SJsmQfr2keE%3d&risl=&pid=ImgRaw
Here is an image of Bill from the back coming down the ramp of the LCI under fire on that day with the commandos. You can see part of his pipes. &ehk=E%2fqOHm%2fbfzN0%2f2lXn0Hlt9kdU9AyZ%2bybIq7P3fQTa%2bQ%3d&risl=&pid=ImgRaw
Here is Bill Millin’s personal account of the landing that day:
Then the order came to get ashore, and I was very pleased to get ashore and no one was shouting that they were going to kill Germans. All people wanted was to get off.
Lord Lovat was in the next ramp, There were two ramps at the front of the landing craft, I was up on one and he was up on this one. He jumped into the water. I waited till he got in, because he was over six feet tall, to see what depth it was, and someone came up on his empty ramp, Well he was immediately shot, A piece of shrapnel or a bullet in the face and he fell and sank. Well, I jumped in pretty smart then. My kilt floated to the surface and the freezing cold water knocked all feelings of sickness from me and I felt great.
I was so relieved at getting off that boat after all night being violently sick. I struck up the pipes and paddled through the surf playing Highland Laddie , and Lovat turned round and gestured to me approvingly.
When I finished, Lovat asked for another tune, Well, when I looked round – the noise and people lying and shouting and the smoke, the crump of mortars, I said to myself, ‘Well, you must be joking surely’. He said ‘What was that? Would you mind giving us a tune?’
‘Well what tune would you like Sir?’ How about The Road To The Isles ? Yes, that would be nice, Yes, walk up and down.’
Well, there was the waters edge. Just about a few feet up on the beach I walked along that part. I could see people lying face down in the water going back and forwards with the surf. Others to my left were trying to dig in just off the beach. A low wall, and they were trying to dig in there. It was very difficult for them trying to dig in the sand. Yet when they heard the Pipes, some of them stopped what they were doing and waved their arms, cheering. But one came along, he wasn’t very pleased, and he called me ‘The Mad Bastard’.
Well, we moved off in two sections. One attacked the front of the sea-side area of Ouistreham. The group I was with attacked the rear of Ouistreham, After the capture of Ouisterham one part of the Brigade went along the towpath of the canal. The part of the Brigade I was with-with Lovat-we went by road towards Benoufville.
We were walking in aircraft formation. That is single file on either side of the the road, and I am Piping. After we left the Ouistreham area, I was Piping along the road, and it’s a raised road with sloping away towards the canal to the left and there is the high ground again on the other side of the canal, so we were very vulnerable on this road, but anyway I was Piping along the road, Then we were being attacked by snipers from the other side of the canal and from the cornfields on the right side of the road, and I am Piping along the road and I could see this sniper about a hundred yards or so away ahead of me and I could see the flash when he fired. And I glanced round, stopped playing and they were all down on the road and their faces in the road. Even Lovat was on his knee-one knee, Then the next thing this man comes scrambling down the tree and Lovat and our group dash forward, Of course, I dashed, I had stopped playing by this time, and dashed forward with them and the mans head bobbing about – the snipers head bobbing about in the cornfield, and Lovat shot at him and he fell down and sent two men into the cornfield to see what had happened, and they brought back the dead body.
Lovat had killed him, Then Lovat said to me, ‘Right, Piper, start the Pipes again.’ Well, we got to Benouville. I had to stop again because we were under fire there and we couldn’t get down the main street. We were taking shelter behind the low wall to the right of the entrance to the village, and Colonel Mills-Roberts of 6 Commando he was across the road looking round his side of the wall, So then he came dashing across to me and said, ‘Right, Piper, play us down the main street.’ So he wanted me to run, I said ‘No, I won’t be running. I will just play them as usual.’ So I Piped them in, and they all followed behind me and through the village and then stopped,
I was Piping Blue Bonnets Over The Border at that time again. Then a shell hit the church on the left and well all stopped, and two Commandos ran into the church to see if it had hit the snipers there. Then I looked round and the Commandos are throwing hand grenades through the windows of the houses, [snip]
Turned round left and then I could see the bridges about 200 yards down the road and a pall of black smoke over the bridges and the sound of mortars bursting. So I kept Piping down the road. Lovat was behind me and when I came to the bridges, I stopped across the road from the Cafe. A Cafe on the right hand side of the road at the bridge. Lovat passed and he – this Airborne Officer – approached us and Lovat and the Officer shook hands and started to discuss the situation. Then Lovat came to me and said, ‘Right, Piper, we are crossing over.’ So I started, walking, put the Pipes up, This time we are walking over, We can hear shrapnel, whatever it was, hitting the sides – metal sides – of the bridge. Well, when we got almost to the other side I started up the Pipes. Coming off the bridge, I stopped again because Lovat put his hand up, the indication was to stop, So I stopped, swung the bagpipes on my shoulder and he said ‘Another 200 yards along this road, Piper, there is another bridge but we won’t have the protection that we have here because it’s not a metal-sided bridge, it’s railings’ as he called them, ‘and when you get there, no matter what the situation, just continue over, Don’t stop.’
So I struck up the Pipes and marched along, merrily along the road and he was walking behind me and other strung out behind. I was playing Blue Bonnets Over the Vorder and we came to the bridge, I could see across the bridge, and there were two Airborne Chaps dug in on the other side of the river and they frantically indicating to me and pointing to the sides of the river that it was under fire, sniper fire, and whatever, So I then looked round at Lovat and he indicated to me by his hand, carry on across, So I kept, Piping but it was the longest bridge I ever Piped across, But I got safely over and shook hand with the two Airborne chaps in the slit trench,
Then Lovat got across and then at this point an Airborne Officer – tall Airborne Officer – approached us from across the road, held his hand out to Lovat and said, ‘We are very pleased to see you, old boy,’ Lovat said, ‘Aye, and we are pleased to see you, old boy.’ and looking at his watch, ‘sorry, we are two and a half minutes late.’
We weren’t two and a half minutes late. We were just over and hour late. [snip].
We set off again, [Snip] I was walking along here and a little girl with red hari came out in bare feet. Very unkempt looking, and she kept shouting ‘Music, music, music’. And I said, ‘Well she wants a tune.’ So I turned to Lovat and I said, ;What do you think?’ he said, ‘Okay then, give her a tune.’ So I started to play a tune called The Nut Brown Maiden. It’s a famous Scottish tune, and went for a few yards like that then I had to stop because the mortaring had started and the French people scarpered. [snip].
By some miracle Bill Millan and the Pipes he played that day, much repaired from multiple shrapnel hits, would survive the war and he would become a legend in his own time. He passed on August 18th, 2010 at the age of 88. Today a statue of ‘The Mad Piper’ Millan stands at Sword Beach memorializing the man who’s tunes were the sound of liberty to the French people and who’s unflinching actions that day in the 1944 helped his fellow Commandos to achieve their vital objectives.
Excellent comments – well done.
Well the second post Part II got held up for what ever reason. I have no idea why since it is not too long. Let’s see if it makes it through.

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Webster University, Lindenwood University, Fontbonne University, Maryville University, University of Missouri Columbia (Mizzou), and University of Missouri St. Louis are not requiring testing or the vaccine, but are encouraging vaccinations.
Proof of full vaccination will be required by BJC by September 15.
Exemptions may be granted for medical contraindications and for religious beliefs following a case-by-case basis evaluation.
I don’t like the concept of giving an employer or school the authority to determine whether one’s religious beliefs are legitimate enough to warrant a religious exemption to being vaccinated. They shouldn’t be allowed to make that sort of determination.
25 percent of BJC’s staff of 30,000 has not received the covid vaccination. That means 7,500 employees will be forced to decide on whether to get vaccinated or lose their job.
A business or school’s right to set employment and enrollment criteria should end when it starts to infringe on the rights of employees and students.
I’m a vaccine libertarian. I think one’s decision to get vaccinated should be free of undue pressure. I’m not against vaccines in general, but I am against vaccine mandates.
If a particular vaccine works, those who are vaccinated should have no reason to worry about the vaccination status of others.
People should be free to decide for themselves whether they want to be vaccinated without undue pressure from government, employers, educational institutions, media, family, friends, and society in general.
There is now extremely strong pressure in our society to get the covid-19 vaccine. Some schools and employers are now requiring it in order to maintain enrollment or employment.
People have become missionary about pressuring other people to get the covid vaccine and it’s creepy and bizarre.
My views stated above concerning the covid vaccine also apply to the litany of vaccines that are already required to attend school or that are required in other contexts such as for employment.

lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and his family as they seek to lead America back to You. Also, we pray for Angels to protect and support our Sundance as he works for justice and peace.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
Amen
Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
