A rare but solid piece of reporting from the New York Times connects and outlines an issue that CTH 2.0 has been reviewing for several years with increased attention.
Essentially the U.S. security apparatus uses private sector data on cell phone users; purchasing as if they were commercial consumers of data; as part of their investigative and monitoring processes for Americans. This is a big privacy issue that has been the subject of several hours of backroom discussion amid the CTH 2.0 tech team.
WASHINGTON — A military arm of the intelligence community buys commercially available databases containing location data from smartphone apps and searches it for Americans’ past movements without a warrant, according to an unclassified memo obtained by The New York Times.
Defense Intelligence Agency analysts have searched for the movements of Americans within a commercial database in five investigations over the past two and a half years, agency officials disclosed in a memo they wrote for Senator Ron Wyden, Democrat of Oregon.
[…] The disclosure sheds light on an emerging loophole in privacy law during the digital age: In a landmark 2018 ruling known as the Carpenter decision, the Supreme Court held that the Constitution requires the government to obtain a warrant to compel phone companies to turn over location data about their customers. But the government can instead buy similar data from a broker — and does not believe it needs a warrant to do so.
[…] The government’s use of commercial databases of location information has come under increasing scrutiny. Many smartphone apps log their users’ locations, and the app makers can aggregate the data and sell it to brokers, who can then resell it — including to the government.
It has been known that the government sometimes uses such data for law enforcement purposes on domestic soil. (more)
On the whole this issue has been the subject of much research and discussion amid our archives. When CTH was deplatformed by WordPress/Automattic; and anticipating a new regime in the White House would/could weaponize user data for political targeting; we began an exhaustive review of how to secure the CTH community and create a place where the rebel alliance could assemble without concern of metadata exploitation. That effort is ongoing and more information will available soon with updates to the CTH optimization process currently underway.
Knowing the objectives of a JoeBama administration and aligned with the ideological intents of Big Tech we can easily see how “contractors” within the U.S. intelligence apparatus would likely operate as brokers to retrieve private sector information from big tech suppliers of user data. This process allows U.S. intel organizations like the DIA to purchase information without search warrants exactly as described in the New York Times article.
When you overlay the intent of the JoeBama team to identify subversive voices, and then accept they will assign the “domestic terrorist” label to those who stand against the totalitarian policy of the regime, you can see how the privacy issue can be weaponized.
From our perspective…. Why would the government need a warrant if the information is available to anyone who wants it, for a fee or otherwise? The real solution would be to prohibit collection in the first place; anything else is chaff and countermeasures.
The Rebel Alliance is currently formulating anti-fragile technology platforms that block this intrusive exploitation. CTH is leading this process.
Yes, there are more of us than them…. and we are smart. Stay small, live Bigly.
Surprise, surprise.
Actually, this should not come as a surprise to anyone who has closely watched what has happened since 9/11/2001, and accelerated during the entirety of the Obama / Biden administration. The fact that a significant number of Biden appointees are former Obama administration operatives shows clearly that Obama is still in charge and they intend to continue as rapidly as possible in creating their idea of a totalitarian state. They need to be stopped and stopped sooner than later.
My post was sarcastic.
I know you were being sarcastic. When I read it I heard Gomer Pyle speaking it. Did you intend the Gomer Pyle effect? My response was more for those who are truly surprised by this, but am sure that the vast majority of folks who frequent this website are not. Patriot 1783– I look forward to reading more of your posts!
The “Surprise, surprise” I used comes from c 2008 jail video of Casey Anthony remark when told her precious baby Cayley was dead.
I’m sorry I flagged this post accidentally, I tried to undo it and it flagged it again. Apologies
Marxitalism. Totalitarian States are so 20th Century.
poe’s law.
it’s okay…your points are quite valid.
God Bless America
Oh, man! Are they gonna’ fry for this! And just imagine how much they would fry for falsifying FISA warrant requests! Wow!
Thanks, Sundance!
One must assume that everything is being watched and proceed accordingly.
One must also assume that the watchers only share the information with those who don’t think as we do.
I hope POTUS understands he has eyes and ears on not only himself but everyone in his family.
Obviously, and then relentlessly fight for these rights to be restored and privacy to be returned because innocents who cannot protect themselves or speak up for themselves rely on us.
They literally start info scraping children from birth now.
But it’s way beyond that.
Now that Lyft has bankrupted cabs, they make you agree they can collect the following data from you OR on your behalf and give it to anyone they want!
Your banking info
Social Security Number
DOB
credit card info
To take a 6 dollar, five minute ride this is the damage they do to you!
Nobody is protecting you. Obviously THAT Lyft agreement should not be legal.
AND they start collecting your location data to boot following you around like a cyber stalker.
But Google is the worst.
I am a bit puzzled. I have always refused to enable tracking on this Kindle Fire.
I have a basic mobile (cell) phone which has no tracking enabled.
I realise this issue is applicable to the U.S., but you would not believe the amount of spying our British spooks are involved in .
We have as many surveillance cameras over here as we have sheep – one per person.
But yes – people are either oblivious to the deep state, or more likely, they just could not care.
Tracking is enabled regardless of what you set in the user interface.
Uber and lyft require ssn and DOB of drivers not users. Are they not employers/contractors and do employers/contractors not require this of employee/contractees?
We are being herded to a Nazi and Soviet and CCP cattleyard. Again. Look at the Media. Courts. Politicians. Book burnings and thought control Colleges. HR vetting at work. Control of Elections. Social credit and virtue sigs. 1984 is here.
Conservatives are not able to see the figurative trains for arguing against seeing literal trains.
The fictional 1984 is and here the real 1938 is here.
Neither one is pleasant.
Sentient, I can’t get his white paper to load. Do you have a copy you can share? Thanks.
Remember his Seth Rich connection.
It loaded for me. Maybe you could try from a different device. It’s 38-40 pages long and, frankly, it seemed a little boring and self-interested. I’m not persuaded by the idea that artists (among others) shouldn’t be able to enforce their copyright and earn money from their work, but it is shocking that someone who’s never set foot in the US can potentially face life in prison in the US. I’m surprised that New Zealand (5 Eyes country) isn’t extraditing him.
So what?
Seth is just more proof as to how we can’t get any real truth happening.
The 4th Amendment Argument has always fell into the definition of “effects”https://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/fourth_amendment”Amendment IVThe right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”
The war is on the definition of effects – they pretend to think effects does not mean commerical platforms that you voluntarily use- that tresspass into your personal space.
smart tv. microphones, cameras, backup cameras for your vehicle to reverse (spys on all vehicles your drive by, park by , etc), fitness watches/bands, etc…
The deep state establishment will always look to find the justification for their misdeeds in the “weeds”. If the justification does not exist– they will tell the lies that it does exist. Either way, they are determined. They cannot be allowed to continue without consequences that will cause them to rethink this entire approach of theirs….
Interesting comment Tony Norelli.
And while we citizens are discussing how to wrap our smart phones in tinfoil the government is busy running over all of the rest of our 4th Amendment rights.
We must not lose sight of the bigger picture.
Redundant argument.
A search warrant is required for phone records, home records, home searches, utility payments, credit card information. All require a warrant. Metadata is no different.
Have overwhelming evidence that laws and regulations are only applicable when convenient.
Now that is the gospel truth Tyshab.
The Constitution is only applicable when convenient.
You are so right Wish and I hate to tell the Treehouse readers here but our government manages to get around that requirement each and every day also.
None of the records that Wish has just mentioned are locked up nice and tight away from prying eyes like they should be.
They are scoped up each and every day by the feds.
If the federal government wants your private records the federal government gets those records and you will never know they have them.
Law enforcement and intelligence agencies will use any means necessary, legal, illegal or in a gray area to gain knowledge useful to their pursuit. And they only worry about search legality when bringing charges against a target that must be justified in court. But knowledge guides the scope of the investigation.
Very true Rowdyone.
First they get the evidence and then they go back and get the legal evidence.
Even if they must plant it themselves.
My audiologist suggested I download an ap so that she can calibrate my hearing aids via internet. ooookay…I don’t think so.
Anything that can connect to the internet can be hacked.
This includes any monitoring devices and objects, such as insulin pumps.
keeler: This is true. What has become known as IoT, the Internet of Things, has also become the Internet of Thoughts. Unconstrained by morals, human nature dictates that some people simply cannot keep themselves out of other people’s business.
Whatever became of that guy who really invented the Internet, and just a year or so ago said he was working on making an alternate, new Internet for everyone concerned about privacy?
https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2018/07/the-man-who-created-the-world-wide-web-has-some-regrets
He’s still around.
I knew we were in trouble as soon as they invented computer viruses. Really? We have to “infect” our devices too?
It seems that every rainbow has a beard.
Small but important clarification [edit window has closed]:
Anything which can be accessed remotely carries a hacking risk. This includes devices and objects connected to local wifi hotspots.
and voting machines, apparently
Yep, you can now hack pace makers and kill people
Cpap machines.
Yeah. No more apps. Just start deleting, uninstalling and getting off as many as you can and never doing anymore.
It’s the new hustle.
Everyone wants in on the data scraping boon. It’s a Gold Rush for totalitarians and thieves via data mining.
I love that you were smart enough to say h no. We’re finally waking up.
Heck! I refuse to add Alexa to my home.
I have Apple products yet I refuse to completely put my whole house under their Home app. I don’t need wifi for my brand-spanking-new dishwasher. Wifi? For washing dishes?!? Hell no!
And no, I won’t allow the Internet of Things to lock or unlock my front door. I have keys for that, thank you. What if the electricity goes out? How will you enter your house or open the windows? Nope. Don’t like it.
I do think THEY have a built in blindness, that interferes with their ability to see things clearly.
As one example, they truly think they can control what people think and believe, thru their msm and big tech manipulation.
YES, they DO have SOME control; they can put out their false narrative (muh russia, ukraine phone call, etc.) But eventually “the truth will out.
And, they CAN suppress stories like the hunter laptop or “who killed Ashlie?”, but again the truth will out.
Similarly, they thing this “megadata”, and algorythms gives them far more power than it does.
In advertising, they have hyped it to their customers, as being “targeted” advertising, and so more effective in reaching customers than advertising in pennysaver or field and stream, and it IS.
However, my friend texts me that he has taken the cure for Hep C, and for weeks after I get popup ads for Hep C treatments
I post here Joe has alzheimers, and I get ads for azheimers treatments.
Another friend emails me about a metal building (like a quonset hut) he bought, and guess what I get ads for?
I don’t have Hep C, am in no danger of having alzheimers, and have no use for a metal building.
Similarly, to use the same technology (meta data mining) to try to “big brother” us, is going to encounter the SAME problems, I suspect.
The enemy is also vulnerable to Hopium; they HOPE that they can quickly erase, from the complacent sheep, the memory of PDJT and all he accomplished.
They HOPE they can control what people think and believe.
They can’t, and their hubris will ultimately be their undoing.
IMHO
Well they can not,it will make he and us grow stronger. My Trump 2020 flag is still up,until I find a 2024 one.
“The enemy is also vulnerable to Hopium; they HOPE that they can quickly erase, from the complacent sheep, the memory of PDJT and all he accomplished.”
Dutchman,
Have you tried duckduckgo ?
I don’t seem to get tracked or at least targeted ads. I use an ad blocker also.
i do use DDG.
however, got quite a shock yesterday when i searched CTH and got NO results for the website, only poseurs and smear sites.
had to enter the whole domain name to get here.
so disappointed if this is DDG caving to pressure.
I don’t even own a cell phone. There is more security in old tech. I have a desktop, no cloud, no apps.
theduechessofkitty, There is a great X-Files episode that is very funny about what you are referring to. If you get a chance to watch it.
Great article. Remember folks the same companies (and their ownership) managing the those Cell Phone Data bases, now also hold the Database Management contracts for the US INTEL COMMUNITY, Law Enforcement, Most US Government Agencies and DoD. It is no accident or coincidence these same companies are locating major operations in Austin, TX. It has zero to do with local taxes and government policy but does align with the Location of New US Army Futures Command being stood up in Austin, TX. Those same companies also Manage State Government Databases. They are ALL linked.
Major Defense Companies in TX and other States are having major I/T Engineer retention issues as those engineers are moving to Austin, TX. The reason being ALL those engineers have the right security clearances, which cost allot of money to establish, and know DoD design procedures, processes and requirements. On average it takes about 5-7 years to grow these types of Engineers.
thedoco00: Very interesting. Everything ties together.
So why aren’t GOP Senators, Congressmen, Governors, State Legistlators, Judges, Sheriffs, Mayors, and Dog Catchers coming together and proclaiming resistance to this fraudulently-elected Administration?
Why isn’t the Republican base, at the very least, leaving the GOP in droves by changing their voter registration to Unafilliated/No Preference?
Is any form of resistance to this Regime, token or real, just too dangerous or too much trouble?
Good question but the answer is not so simple as there is allot of human nature and even knowledge involved. Most people do not even know they can select to opt out of the Republican Party. Some are biding their time to see what develops before deciding and choosing other ways to show solidarity as well as displeasure with the Republican Party.
It is not fair to judge resistance by the single action of party affiliation decisions. For example, it is a stronger message to unsubscribe from and block RNC communications, contribute to LOCAL funds supporting LOCALs who resist.
Be careful how you paint people.
Not fair? Sounds like a case of nose out of whack.
Feel free to deny funding to the GOP and block RNC comms. The original question was why, at minimum, haven’t you changed your voter registration to unafilliated/no preference?
Is an Internet search for “change voter registrationm state” too difficult?
In most cases it takes 20 minutes to leave the Republican plantation.
Do it. At the very least, back your faux-Resistance with THAT much gumption.
And the other question stands as well. Why haven’t GOP Senators, Congressmen, Governors, State Legistlators, Judges, Sheriffs, Mayors, and Dog Catchers come together and proclaimed resistance to this fraudulently-elected Administration?
You are no better than the democrats demanding loyalty oaths.
Those who remain Republican are no better than Democrats.
So says another tin horn dictator want to be.
That’s pretty lame.
Oldtradesman is doing nothing more than questioning their “Pledge of Allegiance.” Yes, it happens to be a loyalty oath, to the Republic, not to a particular party. Perhaps those with socialism in their dna should recite it on a daily basis right after their morning prayers.
some states like where i live DO NOT ALLOW YOU TO VOTE IN A PRIMARY AS A REGISTERED INDEPENDENT.
so if i make the switch…those senators who DID NOT support Trump would not get voted out or “primaried” if everyone here did what you suggest.
and the MAGA challengers would have 0 chance at getting in.
i will not rely on other people to do the work of knowing who needs to be primaried…..i’ll do that myself.
Agreed. How did it turn out for those troops in bright red coats and shiny gold buttons, marching down Main Street in 1776?
Remember the fable of the tortoise and the hare. Sometimes stealth is the smartest path to take.
AMEN.
Not all states offer the ‘switch’ or change parties. It only happens when an election occurs…whether you vote for a DEM or REP or IND person.
See many who say wish to influence primaries.
Why? If the intent is to make the party fail, then remaining registered and voting in the primaries doesn’t seem rational. You would still be dancing to their tune.and they will rig it a hundred ways from Sunday to obtain their desired outcome.
we MUST step outside the accepted system and build/grow our own or conduct a hostile takeover of the existing and throw out everything but the money and useful infrastructure.
My my preference is clean slate, with bright minds designing developing infrastructure and fielding real street fighters.
I was going to change my voter registration to unaffiliated, but learned I would not be able to vote in the primaries if I did. Is that so or just false information so I wouldn’t change the information? It’s so hard to believe what is truth and what is false these days.
It varies. Check with your county supervisor of elections office.
Check the voting requirements in your State. Some have open primaries, some don’t, while some limit independents to 1 vote.
Choose your own way to resist and ignore clowns like the one posting the original comment. Also, see Tony Norelli comment below.
It’s a state issue. Some states have open primaries. Others have party affiliation only primaries.
I believe that depends on the state you’re registered in. Some allow Independents to vote in primaries while others don’t. Check your state’s rules on this to be certain.
in my state that is 100% true and its the ONLY reason i remain a registered republican.
the “resistence” starts in the primaries.
Primaries are like chains to slaves.
Not a flaw…
Our guys should run as independent, no primaries for Independents. At the same time it would allow us in open primary states to go after Ds in their primaries and unseat they swampees
Yes
Or you could do like they suggest and stay with the Pubs and let the RNC stack the primary so that they can make sure they get a uniparty candidate through. The RNC can destroy any reformation effort as easily as they destroyed the Tea Party.
The whole point of political parties is their ability to choose candidates who will run for office under that “umbrella” of Democrat or Republican, using whatever criteria the party wishes to use for this purpose. These days many candidates pay their own way, self-selecting, which then costs the party money by necessitating primaries. Just saw that in the recent US Senate election here in Tennessee.
Some states/counties have open primaries which can be manipulated by having people from the opposite party elect a “spoiler,” a less attractive candidate who will then lose to their guy in the general election. There are times I yearn for the old days of Party Bosses, who sometimes themselves end up running for office. Colorful individuals! In a way they were less corrupt than the clowns (from either party) running around today. At least they were loyal to their peeps and you knew where they stood.
Great answer. I’m a registered Republican but to use your words, am biding my time. I want to wait and see what the future holds for
the party
In the meantime I’m studying my local current office holders and encouraging every young person I know to be involved as well.
These are very good questions. Are we still reeling from the shock of what took place November 3rd and 4th, 2020 and January 6th, 2021? Well if we are– it is high time to cry a river, build a bridge and get over it! The reality is what is happening now. Change your party affiliations, but more importantly: (1) organize with like-minded folks in your community; (2) identify and associate with other like-minded communities; (3) get involved with your school systems and make sure they are teaching civics, and organize civics classes for adults in your community so that they will fully understand their rights and the true importance of the Constitution of The United States of America; (4) identify and support trustworthy leaders in your communities (do “deep” homework on them); (5) make sure your local election boards use only paper ballots, require voter ID, and allow absentee voting sparingly. We can rebuild our country from the ground up and they cannot stop us if we stand united and unafraid.
You may want to move on and “get over it” (which you are free to do) but most red blooded patriotic Americans who do indeed face the reality of what is happening have no interest in rolling over and allowing it to continue.
Your suggestion to those who aren’t currently fully involved are great.
One problem, though. You betcha, keep the conservative communities conservative. The socialist communities are where changes have to be made. Otherwise, nothing changes. And try to remember, they are in control, they being the uniparty. So, while making sure election boards make changes is a priority, realize it more than likely won’t be successful.
Building from the ground up, even if everything were transformed as planned, at best would take an entire generation. The left will have destroyed everything by then and that next generation will have nothing to work with and any attempt would mean detention or death.
Already independents has the larger plurality over dems and repubs.
I don’t have to change my registration, as I might still want to vote in REP primaries. If a new party stands up that allows open primaries I don’t have to change but can effect the remnant of the REP by choosing weak candidates making the new party stronger.
Because they are Republicans. They just roll over.
bull.
where i live you can not vote in primaries if registered as an independent.
only the general.
i don’t want other people choosing for me who i can vote for.
and i don’t trust other people to know who needs to be sent packing.
so i will remain registered as a republican so i can primary those who DID NOT stand with President Trump.
That’s why we should run our people as independent , no primaries to worry about.
i 100% agree with that.
I personally find it appalling that any state dictates to it’s citizens whether they can vote or not. If you are an American citizen, and have legally registered to vote, you should be able to vote for whoever you choose. Otherwise, to me, it is not a free, legal, and fair election.
All you need to do is keep tabs on what the cutoff date is to register for the Republican primary and re-register in advance, that way you will be able to vote in the primary. It takes about a week for the new voter registration card to arrive by mail, so Olán accordingly. After voting you can again change your affiliation.
Just dont donate then and tell the GOP to GFY if they ask for money
the “right” suffers as much the mamet’s principle as the left, truth be told. it’s not unique to GOP voters or even americans.
hearts and minds.
changing that requires lots of time…and pain…or immediate gratification.
so very little time “wasted” on things like principles, values, critical thinking.
so it goes with humans
not realizing how much potential power they wield.
that’s okay… historically all significant paradigms have been from small groups ..or black swan events.
we have the ability to create both.
if we are up to the task. it’s going to take courage focus resources and intelligence.
just saying the words ain’t gonna cut it… it’s a good start, but everyday when I wake up and raise the flag, I say the pledge…and it has a new meaning.in my life.
action belongs to the bold.
Read both of these.

I don’t know where people get off with this “Read This” or “You Must Watch This!” posts with no data other than a link.
YOU read it and if it’s of import (to us), summarize it and post the summary here with a link.
Regarding smartphone data. Many of us have been warning others for years about what they’re doing with your personal data but all so many of you do is twitter, twitter, twitter so I don’t think any of you really even care.
I guess it’s “I must be entertained constantly so I’ll worry about the ramifications later.”
Too late.
Walt,
I appreciate you passion for privacy as I also for many many years have warned others of the deliberate giving of information without the thought of ramifications from their own vanities but I only trust 2 sites and the one I posted above that you responded to is one of them, CTH is of course, the other.
Lead a horse to water is up to you to drink, I don’t tell anyone how to think nor do I like paraphrasing someone else.
But, thanks for the uplifting attack.
We following the same 2 sites. The one on Fake Q was very informative for any who follow Q they should read it with an open mind. MA always brings history into the mix which is interesting. I also subscribe to his private blog. He commented recently that due to the censorship more information will only be posted there. His private blog is a tank in the tech world.
I used to be that guy with the old “flip phone” years after just about everyone had gone to smart phones.
Eventually, my son upgraded his smart phone and convinced me to take his old one.
Being a retired cop, one of the first things I did was to disable the location services feature and enable every privacy feature available.
I also disable the WiFi and Bluetooth when I leave home.
Many stores and other locations have devices to track who comes in and out of their locations, via WiFi and Bluetooth.
If you have an EZ-Pass on your car, you should know that the state of New York has EZ-Pass monitors at key points along major highways, not just at toll plazas.
Additionally, those odd devices that you see on some police cars, that look like cameras, are license plate readers.
When New York initially implemented them, the public was told that data would be erased every 24 hours.
Then, we began to discover that it was being kept longer, much longer.
Now, they’re even placing them at key points along major highways for tracking purposes.
I still use a flip phone. Smart phones make me ill to the touch. It is a blessing in disguise.
I’ve got a good friend who still uses an old flip phone.
The ironic thing is that he’s a retired IT guy.
He just likes that it’s simpler to use.
I have a flip phone, but don’t use it, only taking it with me when heading out of town figuring if someone needs to reach me they can leave a message on my landline.
When I mention that I don’t take a cell phone with me everywhere my friends freak out as if ‘OMG, what if _ _ _ (insert their hidden fears in the blank) and it just confirms the idea that these cell phones are the tools for the mental manipulation to keep the individual from using their own critical thinking.
Guess this is now considered an old fashioned way of being? But, search warrants are still required for land lines and I laugh when going into the local restaurant and all, at least here in Nevada, now require you to provide your phone number for contact tracing, so I do chuckle because they are given my land line number and silently say to myself ‘contract tract that people!’.
Give them a bogus number.
Or a phone number from City Hall.
If your House Rep. is a Democrat, use that.
I always give nosey people that demand my phone number the number for the White House switchboard.
I have it written down in my wallet and I tell them hold on a minute I just got a new phone number and I get it out and give them the White House number.
Same for my address 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue nobody ever even bats an eye they just type it in.
I’m sure I’ve been getting mail there for a number of years.
I sometimes lose my phone around the house for days and don’t even notice is missing.
Turning off location services doesn’t help. The phone pings cell towers along your journey, thereby documenting your travels. If you don’t want to be tracked while traveling, you need to leave your phone at home.
You are correct.
However, there’s a big difference between having an idea of someone’s general location and having their GPS coordinates.
I’ve used both methods to track fugitives and it’s far easier to locate someone who has a smart phone with its location services enabled than it is to try to triangulate from cell tower pings.
I’ve also used OnStar and LoJack to locate fugitives.
A lot of the data isn’t used to prove that a suspect was in a particular place, it’s often used to prove they were NOT in a particular place.
I destroyed a homicide suspect’s alibi by using such data to prove he couldn’t have been where he claimed he was at the time of the abduction and killing.
Buy a burner flip phone, pay cash for the phone and cash for the minutes. Then call forward to it from your “leave it at home” iPhone.
How to forward calls on an iPhone with AT&T, T-Mobile, or other GSM carriers
What about for android phones?
What do you think about Faraday shields?
There’s no way to escape. Just making more difficult for them to track you. Definitely I don’t want to help them with that.
FARADAY CAGE
If you have LoJack or a service such as the Proprietary FordPass, your car is tracked.
If you use a credit card to buy gas, your car is tracked.
If your license plate is readable, your car is tracked at stop lights, border crossings, security gates and toll booths. That is how NY checks for quarantine violators.they, want to persecute.
Get real and live with it. Focus on how to use personal security practices to protect yourself and limit exposure to probability of being stopped for breaking a rule.
“live with it”
Don’t make a scene just do what you’re told. Be a “good American”
Does anyone here have experience with Faraday bags? They are supposed t block the signals to and from your phone, similar to the bags they send the EZ pass transponders
How to make a portable faraday cage–look it up So if you are travellng on non EZ pass roads they cant track you
“Many smartphone apps log their users’ locations, and the app makers can aggregate the data and sell it to brokers, who can then resell it — including to the government.”
You clearly identify the problem, but then get distracted by the government. In order to properly address it, it is necessary to move UPstream.
Specifically, everyone’s location data, purchase date, search data, ALL of it, should be OUR information, OUR property, NOT the property of Big Tech to sell to whomever they please. We would be appalled if we found our banks selling our monthly checking account statements to our neighbors so they could snoop into our lives. This is no different.
All of our location and other digital data should be clearly delineated by law as OUR property, NOT Big Tech’s.
Law? Seriously?
Absolutely. America is still a nation of laws, even if it is currently living through a nightmare of lawlessness and corruption. Rule of law is our bedrock. At some point we will have taken it back and can pass new laws that benefit Americans, not multinational companies.
And oh, by the way, that statutory waiver of liability for the Big Pharma companies that developed the vaccines? Not worth the paper it is printed on, although it will definitely dissuade some less aggressive lawyers from suing and taking it all on.
trapper: I fully agree with you, yet, for one’s own protection, in the Year 2021, one must assume that the entirety of one’s “connected” life is being tracked, for purposes good, bad, or benign. Even our “unconnected” lives can be tracked, to the extent we interact, unintentionally, with other connected people or connected (or monitored) objects. It’s not paranoia. It’s simply reality.
We must let go of our innocence. The future is here.
Remember how ‘contractors’ where used to circumvent laws preventing spying on Americans? Well, if you just hire these contractors to be your information broker, they can combine NSA spying with cell phone tracking. And, as non-governmental actors, they don’t need any more supervision.
We are running pell-mell towards the United States of Tyranny.
As I recall the wife of one of the FBI guys involved in the spying works for a company whose business is poring through publicly available information for a fee.
(LLL) Level 3 technologies is a big domestic spy operation as well.
We should all start leaving our phones at home unless absolutely necessary. Also maybe put our electronic devices in Faraday cages when not in use or traveling with them.
If go to those lengths to stay non-locatable, you need to deactivate car-theft locators built into your car like LOJACK or the proprietary FordPASS system that even automakers build into their new cars. Also, you need to blur you license plate, not use your credit cards to buy gas or shop, …. get the message, You are tracked no matter what you do.
That’s why your going to see a digital currency real soon, Europe first then us.
Other countries are heading down this same path.
Anyone it Bitcoin take your profits now because no government will ever allow another form of money to take over.
To Big Government, digital currency should be ideal.
Not only will they be able to see how much money you have, they’ll know when you spend it, where you spend it, and exactly what you spend it on.
No more evading the Tax Man.
And, if some government bureaucrat thinks you buy too much beer or give too much money to an unapproved church, they can cut you off.
“Economic control is not merely control of a sector of human life which can be separated from the rest; it is the control of the means for all our ends. And whoever has sole control of the means must also determine which ends are to be served, which values are to be rated higher and which lower, in short, what men should believe and strive for.”
– Friedrich Hayek
While it may be impossible to become completely invisible, it is possible to reduce your size as a target.
I’ve thought that we should all just “exchange” our phones with each other once a month.
New location and other data every 30 days would drive their data mining crazy.
Of course, we would have to transfer our data with the phones but I already do that with my computer by running eveything off a USB drive (including the O.S.) so everything goes with me.
If interested, look up “Persistant USB with Encryption”.
We have to demand phones that can be secured this way.
Now tell us it is Win 10,you are whistling in the dark Always use Linux.Never install a browser to hard disk, run from a folder.
“running eveything off a USB drive (including the O.S.)”
nah. Just carry it in a chips bag
You need a phone for if your car breaks down and emergencies. So if the Faraday thing works use that.
You can get a Trackphone.
I do not want women in their cars with no phones these days. And I do not want your butt tracked by totalitarian stalkers either.
So find something where you can get help for robbery or accident, also to take pictures because we now have streets full of people with no driver’s licenses slamming into you along with the regular problem.
So please the object is safety. Have some means of calling AAA, police or family in emergency but we have to stop being tracked by these totalitarian Big Brother predatory stalkers as well.
You have criminals on all sides.
I know they are doing this in Canada too. I have heard far too many reports of Canadians who got caught violating the red level lock downs who can’t explain how they could possibly have gotten caught except by their cell phones.
There is a great scene in one of the terminator movies where a guardian asks the heroine if she has a cell phone. The girls says yes and the guardian gets it and throws it out the window. I regard my cell phone as an enemy surveillance instrument I have to keep nearby and treat it as such.
During these dark times, one might consider getting rid of the phone (or turning it off and sticking it in a faraday bag), the smart TV, the Internet, and disabling any tracking devices in one’s car. I know… sounds like the 1980’s, right? How did we ever live without this stuff?
Your sentence is solitary and being forced to stare at naked pictures of Nancy Pelosi and Jerry Nadler 24/7. Whenever standing in a line at the camp a life sized Slow Joe doll sniffs your hair from behind.
On don’t forget all of your smart devices like your garage door opener, your refrigerator, your TV, your alarm system, you hot water heater, your thermostat, anything that talks to the internet, can also be used to spy on you.
Government agencies are pursuing DNA tracking as well, via commercial entities as GEDMatch.
George Bush 2, Potus of the Patriot Act (what a misnomer now): “Everyone just want to be FREE.”
This will be the first and last time I use the phrase ” JoeBama administration”- it is not. It is the CCP installed Puppet Regime. That’s what it is that’s what I’m calling it in all my conversations. Unless we call the baby ugly THEY will call it pretty.
Thanks, I like it and will do so as well.
I saw this type of thing coming last year, so I got a new cell-phone with 3g technology that can make voice calls & texting only! I realize that they can still track me, BUT the Canadian Gov’t cannot make me get a “Covid-19 Tracking App” on this phone!
I still have my smart phone, but it is not connected to a service provider & since I’m not one of these people that walks around all day with their nose stuck in their phone, I just need a cell phone for voice calls only.
If I need Wifi away from home, I have a small ASUS laptop (all metal beauty that only weighs 2.2 lbs.) that I carry with me. Almost everywhere you go nowadays, has free Wifi & with my VPN, chances are good that “Big Brother… I’m from the Gov’t & here to help” won’t be tracking me.
It’s truely scary here, in that I have seen Rebel News exposes’ on Covid-19 Interment Camps being built in Manitoba & further up North & you just know that China loving Trudeau will be emboldened even more, now that JoeBiden has been placed in power in America! BUT, he has already been caught “interfering in a foreign election” & eventually will be brought to justice, ONCE this attempted Coup by JoeBiden is over!
I tried to warn anyone who would listen on here that Justin Trudeau was placed in power here in Canada by the Globalists. They wanted someone who they could control, because Steven Harper refused to sign Canada onto the 2015 Paris Climate Scam Treaty Accord!
“The Rebel Alliance is currently formulating anti-fragile technology platforms that block this intrusive exploitation. CTH is leading this process.”
Read that. Read it again. And again, and again. Sundance, the man who had the stones to travel behind enemy lines (Washington, DC), find out what was really going on, and report back to us, is now leading the charge to circumvent intrusive technology. If we make it, it will be because of people like him who cared enough to DO something about it.
I’ve got tears in my eyes just thinking about that.
Thank you. I missed that golden nugget.
God bless Sundance.
We do have people who fight evil, it is beautiful.
And we should support them. Donations, even if small, add up and will help. Plan to donate to Sundance’s efforts each month.
Reading this article and all the comments just highlights how easily the FBI could have crackdowned on all the rioters and looters during the summer. The people attacking the White House this summer when they had to move President Trump into the bunker could have easily been arrested and charged with Federal crimes.
This is just another example of the failure of Bill Barr and Wray to do their jobs!
They are doing their jobs, which is to demonize, marginalize, censor, cancel, arrest any person that has a complaint about the installed regime.
They didn’t fail to do their jobs, they DID their jobs. The Deep State is grateful for their service.
Our govt is spying on us. What a surprise.
My apologies if this is inappropriate here.
Last year I started this company for the specific reason that our phones and the apps on them are tracking and reporting on us. Even if you disable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi your phone is still receiving GPS signals.
This is a very durable, made in the United States, reusable, faraday bag.
I sell these to every day Americans as well as police departments for electronic evidence storage.

Email me if you have questions.

This is very appropriate, if it’s legit.
Would you please consider trying to get someone trustworthy and big name to vet things like this and have links to them on a site?
I don’t know Trump’s future, if he’ll have good advisors or bad.
But imagine a site like Trump’s, or Rand Pauls that listed trusted sources for yanking back your privacy.
And businesses that are pro America to buy from.
Lists of those to boycott.
I’d like to have a trusted site helping us out with this kind of thing.
Hi Falana, Thanks! It’s very legit. I have been on CTH for years reading and posting. I am also a former US Marine, who is trying to help citizens push back against Constitutional overreach.
I like your trusted site idea. Any thoughts regarding the vetting process?
I like this one off you web site, good product, will recommend.
“Gov. Jay Inslee, WA State:
“Therefore, those individuals that refuse to cooperate with contact tracers and/or refuse testing, those individuals will not be allowed to leave their homes to purchase basic necessities such as groceries and/or prescriptions.”
Thanks, Scott, I appreciate you spreading the word. Emperor Inslee is a BIG reason I left WA and moved to N Idaho. That state has been corrupt for decades and IMO has not had a fair gubernatorial vote for decades as well. The Dino Rossi loss was the first visible evidence of the progressives stealing elections there, in a similar way to Tumps supposed loss. At least I could move out of the State, but we must stand for the Republic!
“Lansing — The tracking of hundreds of Michigan Capitol protesters’ cellphones from two rallies this spring has raised questions about protecting privacy rights, while testing limits of what location data can predict about the spread of the novel coronavirus from packed public events.
A liberal advocacy group most recently pursued the anonymized cellphone location data from more than 400 devices from individuals who attended the American Patriots Rally on April 30 in Lansing against Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s stay-home orders and used it to gauge their locations the next day in a bid to determine the potential spread of the virus from the demonstration.
The location of 422 cellphones within a roughly four-block radius of the Capitol showed individuals traveled back to areas throughout the state, including West Michigan, Metro Detroit, Northern Michigan and the Indiana border after the event, according to data obtained by VoteMap on behalf of the progressive group Committee to Protect Medicare and Affordable Care.
“They ended up pretty much scattered across the state,” said Dr. Rob Davidson, executive director of Committee to Protect Medicare, a west Michigan emergency room physician and a Democratic former congressional candidate.
“I think you can absolutely argue that a likely high-risk group of individuals all gathering in close quarters have a high risk of propagating the virus,” said Davidson, whose group did not track protesters at the police brutality protests across Michigan over the weekend.
But the group pulled similar data at an April 15 rally called Operation Gridlock.
The tracking, known as “geoharvesting,” is when data is gathered from a smartphone app on a device connected to the internet. That data contains geolocation information that can be queried to show movement on a map.”

So….this is Detroit? Can we get a similar track of BLM/Antifa thank you?
I’m betting they aren’t looking for any “Social Justice Warriors”…
Thank you Sundance for all your hard work and keeping us informed and armed against information warfare
But what is the plan from here ?
Without trump in office i feel we are powerless. Biden is about to reverse 4 years of trump in 1 year. this purge of conservative voices is just beginning and soon you will probably be deplatformed too i’m afraid
the traitorous GOPs have now fully exposed themselves and they have nothing left to hide. They are on a full out assault on our constitutional rights and how are we to stop them? they are going to impeach Trump next and make sure he never returns to power because they can and don’t care. they have nothing to lose now
If Trump invoked the insurrection i was ready to fight in the streets my country.
We are at war . WW3. information warfare. they won with COVID AND ELECTION FRAUD. now we are left licking our wounds here wondering how to pick up the pieces from here and fight
the only thing i am absolute certain of is yes we should all join the new Trump party and defect from the traitorous GOP. but now what?
OCMaga: The plan is what you make it to be. You already know what you need to be doing (that’s why you are here), and so do the rest of us, for the most part. Thus, start doing it, now! If you think of your individual actions as your contribution to a larger effort, well then, that’s the plan.
The million dollar question.
I do not think so,I just wish he would get a protonmail.com account.
“this purge of conservative voices is just beginning and soon you will probably be deplatformed too i’m afraid”
And McConnell and the GOP’s response to this massive intrusion of Americans is what?
Their usual, SILENCE!
This is why you can’t overhaul the GOP and IMO we must build our own Patriot Party.
To quote a very wise person, “There are Trillions at stake”
McConnell is 78 years old, maybe he will soon develop the same mental acuteness as Buyden.
It won’t be us removing him.
And I thought the DIA were the ethical spooks. Silly me.
My slogan for everything now around my house to my kids is:
DO YOU SEE THE UNI-PARTY NOW
As many treepers have suspected, the government is not too interested in catching terrorists (recall Philp Haney), they are interested in catching YOU.
In 1990 I was a gs9 Customs Inspector. I wrote a proposal to establish counterterrorism training at FLETC (Federal Law Enforcement Training Center), and to make the interdiction of terrorists our agency priority (drug seizures were at the top at that time).
I sent it up thru the chain on a buck slip (routing slip). It went into a hole at HQ.
I then sent it to OPM on an “I Suggest Form”. Such a submission requires that the suggestion/proposal be reviewed by experts, and a written response provided if rejected.
I received a response ridiculing the idea.
I appealed (one appeal was allowed).
I did not receive a response.
I then put the package together and asked an NTEU (National Treasury Employees Union) staff attorney whom I knew to try to submit directly to the Commissioner of Customs. He was not successful.
At about the same time , I tried to get radiation detection equipment, and again suggested that it was critical we acquire this equipment. Nope. However, The HQ research and development people were helpful, and borrowed what I needed from DOE. They had been trying to get this type of equipment long before I asked, but also ran into a brick wall. Years went by before anything was done to address the threat.
Well, I think you get the picture.
With Google Geofence the Feds know exactly every place that you’ve ever been within “INCHES”. GOOGLE tracks your Android cellphone like Samsung Galaxy and the Feds can easily access it from Google which hates you so there’s no pushback from Google. Govern yourself accordingly!
Pine Phone is making strides in privacy protection.
Ok I’ll bite connecting the pieces..
I have s strong belief that many things are happening that we know nothing about..
I also trust the NYTto be a disemenator of warnings..
So with this warning the NYT is telling all of the AntiFa/BLM and politicians that the military intelligence can find you..
Is we were to have martial law.. time for the corruption masters to ditch the phone and go underground..
Just remember there are no coincidences.. not with the NYT..
MAGA
After years of Puke-Leaker-Prize winning subterfuge of the Trump presidency, working hand and foot with US Intel, the Times is now sounding the alarm for privacy? What utter two-faced hypocrisy.
Geo-fencing. Cross a boundary and your data gets sucked up.
Thomas Edsall discusses this in a piece for the New York Times. It begins with geofencing, a practice that involves tracking every cell phone that enters a predefined area, like a church or MAGA rally. Armed with these phone numbers, identities can be sussed out from other commercial databases, and then people can be sorted by how frequently they vote, their party registration (if any), and all manner of personal information:
So. Theses events seem tailor made for disposable burner phones.
We keep getting sock puppet trolls here (poseurs faking to be Conservatives) and/or full on cowards who tell us to accept this.
Yeah, no.
And the old “if you have nothing to hide, why do you care?”
If I am not a criminal, why are you treating me worse than one? And why are you collecting more data than an identity thief, you corrupt scum.
So let me explain to all trolls paid to hover here. Your government and Big Brother Tech are trying to put us all in their Panopticon, like the totalitarian Chinese. We have a constitutional right to privacy and that is because massive surveillance = no freedom and the conditions of a max penitentiary jail.
Epstein had more privacy than innocent Americans.
So for all Bush-Obama NSA apologists, and Big Brother overlords, understand that treating innocent people like criminals while you vote thief the rest of our rights too is something we do not accept.
So??? Google, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, and Amazon have been spying on us for years!
So I guess this means that the FBI is currently searching for all citizen’s that were at the January 6 rally at the Ellipse and then outside of the Capitol during the rio? What will they do with this info? Will it be leaked to a major news network or publisher? Will they punish all the thousands of citizens who committed no crime, were just there to protest the rigged election? Will they all lose jobs, be doxxed and threatened at their homes, be put on “no fly lists”, be labeled as domestic terrorists?!
look out for a long list of patriots being railroaded in the coming days. Should they flee the USA and apply for amnesty in another country for political reasons? That would be something!
Warrants are applicable to law enforcement. Why is the military surveilling citizens? Why is the military operating within the US?
Because they are morphing into Marxist junta – part of the coup.
In my area, we are organizing to continue the exposure of election fraud and move towards a new party. My question is can we protect our location meetings with faraday cages for our cell phones prior to meeting and during meeting and after meeting? We are all concerned citizens and we don’t necessarily know each other but we are determined to grow and start a collective effort to either form a new party of demand a Republican purge. I won’t disclose our location since too many trolls monitor this site.
Put in frigerator
fyi, loss of signals are tracked as well.
Timing is key. True accountability measures were a prior possibility given it’s purview under the DOD. With the mew admin, anyone think that such priorities will exist versus returns to the standards of 702 about searches?
Has anyone here tried to find info about early Obama that you saw years ago, or your local politicians? Do you know how thoroughly they are able to wipe the internet clean of things when they want to?
So I will not listen to one more hack troll say there is no way to recover privacy, when it can be done for those who are supposed to be transparent.
You have to try it sometime. Try really getting the goods on your local politician or find out how various ordinances come up and was behind them and just see how information you are supposed to have is wiped.
There are local governments where you cannot find online which PARTY the politiicians in various offices belong to in simple searches.
Yet THEY are selling your data for profit and control everywhere.
Your government is supposed to be transparent to the citizens, not the citizens to Big Tech, corporate thieves, and the new hybrid monstrosity the American CCP.
We should have pardoned Assange and Snowden.
But anyhoodles, going forward making government transparent and people’s privacy sancrosanct MUST be a major issue.
They are trying to imprison the innocent, end voting, as they let loose every criminal.
Why are children being violated the most with this?
We also have to prioritize that data collection on CHILDREN is akin to pedophilia and should end any organization doing it.
If we find you collecting data on minors, your company should be dismantled and sold for parts like a fire sale.
Google chrome is in most public schools in the USA. Kids using these laptops – Donated by big tech/big Corp. – are being mined for their personal data every day they are forced to use them in school. How do you UN-do that?!
Also schools, teachers required to enter data on each student in to databases being consolidated so info on every person in school tracked- for ‘program, student assessment and research’ purposes Every child born, dna is on file, dr offices—data required to be entered into database, all for ‘health, research’ purposes of course.
Good read for laymen: Data and Goliath: The Hidden Battles to Collect Your Data and Control Your World by Bruce Schneier (Author)
Obama is a such a SNAKEASS, he’ll install someone in your local, or state Govt’ to harass you. These Traitors will not stop at anything to mess with Trump supporters. Just wait until all the local crooked govt’ sleepers cells start targeting all of us with fines, fees, excessive property taxes, etc.
Until conservatives have an organization equivalent to Lawfare, or a few state AGs willing to go on the warpath, you can forget about Constitutional protections. And if the Supreme Court is expanded, it’s game over.
Many smartphone apps log their users’ locations, and the app makers can aggregate the data and sell it to brokers, who can then resell it — including to the government.
It would be a shame if we come up with a list of those apps so we can share it around and have people deleting them… shame shame shame.
I think the Gov already have a file on all of us. detailed. I’m probably of high interest to them since I support Trump publicly.
“Of course, all of this is coming with something even more ominous. For example, the tech giants volunteered to work with the FBI to get the protestors they have now labeled insurrectionists, which is an important change in tone. This public-private partnership comes naturally, as the people involved see one another as members of the same class, at war with the same enemy. Silicon Valley is officially the signal intelligence arm of the surveillance state.”
Lesson Of Trump #3 | The Z Blog
…SIGINT – I think that is a good perspective, Gipper. Cell phones and other devices provide SIGINT to those who seek our destruction.
Exactly
And there is no doubt that Biden is seeking our destruction. He’s reversing everything President Trump did to improve the economy. Only an ignorant man would kill our country like he’s doing. This is unreal and scary. Some of don’t have enough life left to see the end of Biden’s term.

On a related note, new Secretary of Transportation Buttgeek wants a vehicle mileage tax. So if you responded to the libs’ prodding and got a fuel-efficient car, a hybrid or even an electric car, that’s not good enough. You’re shorting them money, so they want to tax your mileage. As an ancillary benefit to the government, your vehicle would have to carry a tracking device (besides your phone). https://justthenews.com/government/white-house/incoming-transportation-sec-buttigieg-suggests-taxing-americans-amount-miles
ALL cars, built at least after 2017, already carry a tracking device, installed by the manufacturer. The owner of the car is “supposed” to opt in or out to activate the service.
The next bit of pirate electronics will be a device that allows an owner to locate the installed device for removal or neutralization.
We need the justices that Trump got to the bench to do their job!
You mean the 3 Justices Shanghai Mitch allowed to be approved?? They are doing their job, just not the job they advertised they would perform during the approval process.
5G will make things infinitely worse via 5G connected cameras everywhere along with facial recognition software. 5G’s incredibly high data rate and networking allows exactly what he claims:
Mike Adams; Brighteon
is awesome for info (like CTH).
