To begin with, there was no real movement to have President Trump pardon either Assange or Snowden.
For more than one week, the news was about the Capitol protests and Big Tech banning President Trump from his social media accounts.
Snowden is on twitter. President Trump is not.
Assange could have revealed his source of the DNC emails and end the Russia hoax.
I was hoping he would pardon both.
President Trump knows more about what they did than we do. He had access to all that information. You didn’t. He has been right a lot more often than he has been wrong. I give him the benefit of trusting his judgment on this one.

NW, it is likely related to cookies. Some browsers allow you to make exceptions for specific sites to allow cookies. In Firefox (yeah, I know, but Brave is unusable w/CTH Gab and TD.win) you can just click the shield next to the URL and set CTH as trusted.
Oh, boy. I’m running FFox 84.0.2 I clicked the purple shield but don’t have that allow cookies option. All I see is enhanced “tracking protection”

IIRC:Settings, Security(Privacy?), SiteData, Exception, paster CTH URL into that box and allow as an exception. But, just clicking the shield and turning off “Enhanced Tracking Protection” (just for CTH) might fix everything for you.

Turning off the “enhanced tracking’ makes me a bit uneasy = Trackers follow you around online to collect information about your browsing habits and interests. Firefox blocks many of these trackers and other malicious scripts.
BTW I don’t have to go thru the “Notify of…” business if I am merely replying as I’m doing here. Just if I want to post a new new comment.

Additionally – he’s an outsider, remember – he had to rely on people in lots of cases that would not have been his choices if he was “free” to make his own choices. He placed his trust in people that turned out to be untrustworthy, he had people who betrayed him – again – Politics was not his world, he was used to a different type of cut-throat world.
He did not lose the country – he won an election that was stolen from him. How was he to rectify that when all avenues were working against him – the swamp didn’t want him and they did everything in their power to prevent him from rectifying the issue. The Swamp knows, as do we, that Trump won.

If Trump were to pardon Assange and Snowden tomorrow, how much good would it do them?
The English have Assange in prison. Would they let him go? I very much doubt it. Even if they did, where would he go where he would be safe? America, even though that’s not where he is from? The CIA would arrange for his “accidental’ dearth. Maybe he could go to Sweden? But the CIA knows where Sweden is.
How about Snowden? Russia is not holding him. He would likely go back to the USA, but the CIA know where the USA is, even though they don’t serve it at all.
What good would it do? A last minute pardon would steal the news cycle from the Biden inauguration. Trump is really good at controlling the media. Assange is bigger than Biden.

Mexico has offered Assange political asylum.
I do not think President Trump is being leveraged or threatened. I think if he does not pardon him, he has more information and a solid reason.
If Assange is Allowed to go to Mexico, the US would have to negotiate his ex tradition. Mexico could demand, for example, reciprocal action, by requesting the extradition of AG Holder to face arms smuggling charges.
Would the English (MI6) release him to go to Mexico though? I really doubt it.
My understanding is the ONLY reason he is still in British prison is because they are holding him at our request for extradition.

Last I heard Assange still didn’t like President Trump. Assange could have revealed the dead man as his source to stop the corrupt Russian collusion hoax.
On the other hand, the Wikileaks drops of ’16 did help the Trump campaign. POTUS could have owed him for that.
However, down to the actual charges, how was what Assange received and published any different fron any other journalist receiving classified info. I think he should be pardoned as he is revealing corruption however it may lay.

(Snip) “Mr. Mayorkas has not adequately explained how he will enforce federal law and secure the southern border given President-elect Biden’s promise to roll back major enforcement and security measures,” Hawley said in a statement. “Just today, he declined to say he would enforce the laws Congress has already passed to secure the border wall system. Given this, I cannot consent to skip the standard vetting process and fast-track this nomination when so many questions remain unanswered,” he added.
Hawley needs to delay and block Biden’s choice for Secretary of Defense as well.

Hawley is young and ambitious. He’s well aware of the sentiments of the MAGA base, and I believe he intends to use that to stay in office despite any retribution from McTurtle, and to still be climbing the ladder of power after Turtle has retired or died of old age.
