I used to respect the courts as one of the last institutions that still might have honor and integrity and a willingness to not treat the Constitution like so much toilet paper. Yes, there were nutty leftists on the bench making their decisions based on what their agenda was, but ultimately what was right and just prevailed in the end.

First came the FISA rubber-stamp nonsense and massive illegal spying. The second major hit to them was Roberts twisting himself into a pretzel over forcing citizens to buy a product the government deemed necessary. Now this.
I don’t understand the “no standing” BS. Whether they were state AG’s representing citizens (and their votes being stolen) or a lawyer paid for by a private citizen representing that citizen before the court, standing should have been clear in both cases. It’s a ridiculous concept anyway given any federal judge in some left wing communist utopia can accept any lawsuit, even on behalf of illegal aliens, and then issue a nation-wide injunction. What is also ridiculous from the bench during this election are the sniveling creatures calling themselves judges who complained of lawsuits not being filed timely. This type of response ignores the fact that those lawsuits likely would have been thrown out as lacking standing because there was no harm yet…same as with the ACA.
Judges no longer rule on what the law is or whether it’s Constitutional. They rule by sticking their finger in the air or by whether someone has dirt on them.

The absolute truth is that ALL judges from the lowliest justice of the peace to the highest Supreme Court panjandrum is nothing more than a successful POLITICIAN who has either been elected or appointed.
There is no legal requirement for a judge to be particularly brilliant or even to have been a successful lawyer. In the end, they are all just scumbag politicians and that goes for Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh and every other one in any jurisdiction that was appointed by our President Trump.

True Seneca. I’m thinking of the past few elections where Republican politicians have been whipping up the base to turn out and vote for them because it meant another seat on SCOTUS, or it meant the party would be able to seat judges, etc.

I believe it is because each of the 4 states could remedy the situation if they believed there was illegality in the vote. None of the state legislatures took corrective action and the state certified the results. Plus, none of the 4 state’s Supreme Courts have ruled there was any illegality.

Your comment regarding “no standing…because no harm” is a key one.
That phrase has been used endlessly to turn away many a valid complaint. It’s a misconception that is phenomenally harmful and WRONG.
The moment that a law is born into a jurisdiction, citizens are held to account under it. Now, the court views harm as a material injury; i.e., lost money, bodily injury, broken structure, etc., anything that can be pointed to that the jury would look at and in a heartbeat consider it “damage”. That’s how they view harm.
The problem is that citizens are injured the moment they are subject to the law–if it runs counter to their interests or places them in jeopardy. Example:
Firearm restrictions. State/county passes law outlawing possession of a firearm in contravention of the 2nd Amendment’s right to “keep and bear” (literally own and stow in the armory and also wear about the town). What’s the harm? Going without for starters. That’s an uncompensated loss. Tangible harm. Further harm is changing one’s lifestyle to accommodate the law. Examples are not jogging or camping in recreational areas out of fear for one’s safety–going armed is a law violation, going unarmed is in some cases stupid. Tangible harm. Yet, no standing.

i am 72 and a single. it’s harder the older you get.
We are in our 70s and live in the People’s Republic of Killer Cuomo’s NY. Our whole family is here now and for generations. It is hard to leave and we are still willing and able to fight. At this point all options are on the table. We figure we may not have a choice if they start turning off the electricity and cutting off our supply of food, gasoline, supplies, etc.

Just got a letter from Medicare saying I have to go from paying $148/mo for Medicare, part B to $329/mo for the year 2021 for Parts B and D (and, of course I pay a lot for a supplement to Medicare.)
The market was good in year 2019 + in that year I had to take for the first time from my 401k a minimum distribution so while my income didn’t double because of those two things, my Medicare costs more than doubled. I pay 22% tax to feds and 12% to CA.
I’ve been trying to decide if I should move to Reno, (I like the area but at 4500 ft elevation, even though at 72 I have no current lung problems ( I did smoke for 30 years) they say older people should not move to an elevation over 3000, life expectancy lessens by a few years or Las Vegas….do I really want to have those temps for 4 months? ZERO income tax in Nev.

The CARES act allows people under 59-1/2 to remove up to $100K from IRAs and 401k without penalty this year. It just gets taxed as regular income. I have been debating whether to fully exercise this.

4 generations of FL here. Most people move into this state and stay only Nov to March because of the heat and summer storms (heat and humidity). Prices for housing have gone sky high for us “natives” so we can’t move to newer locations in the state. Our housing costs were reasonable until the influx of people from NY,NJ,PA,CA, etc move here and have more to spend because of selling price of previous home.
Roads are becoming jam packed and apartment complexes are being built everywhere. In the 80’s we had a moratorium on building because of water shortage and unless the authorities have figured a way to get water from the Gulf, we could be in trouble.
That’s what happened to our home in California.
First came the wealthy Arabs and then came

I’ll be spending my time and attention on local politics and in particular Texas. I’m done being disappointed by so called Republicans (most in name only) and Conservatives (who whore themselves out to Big Business, Big Tech and the Military Industrial Complex). Yeah. Respectfully, it seems you just can’t bring yourself to admit the obvious. Voting is pointless now, assuming the fraud is allowed to stand. It makes no difference whether someone can “claim” your vote or not. Claim it, don’t claim it. Your vote doesn’t make it any more difficult for them to cheat. They have proclaimed, to your face, that you don’t matter. Voting and seeking redress in the courts are basically a fool’s errand.

I’m still going to keep voting even though they cheat. I don’t want them to ever get comfortable. Who does have standing to argue the unilateral rules changes by Secretaries of State? Reps from those states were parties to the Texas case weren’t they?
The strategic problem was that nobody in one state can sue other states over federal election results. That oversight power is reserved to Congress per Article 1, Section 4, Clause 1. Parties may only challenge results in their own state, not by joining a suit lead by outsiders. This is a unanimous decision to refuse a hearing, with only two dissents regarding the mere right to even file a suit over this matter.

Did anyone by chance ask SCOTUS who would have standing? It would save a lot of time if we could get an answer to that question.
So far, not a single entity has standing to request relief from any court. In essence they are being told that not a single citizen has the right to expect the rule of law to apply to protect their vote.
What do we take away from all of these judgements passed against the people without the opportunity to present evidence?
Where does the US citizen stand today?
These are just a few of the indignities that the average citizen has been forced to watch and in some cases endure in these last few years.
Where, oh where, is that last beacon of freedom that people have travelled so many miles across many oceans to get to. We still have time to save it, but I am not sure how. Taking up arms is not the answer.

The ONLY way that Texas can resolve a conflict between itself and Penn…is the SCOTUS.
SCOTUS just told them that they dont have standing in the avenue they have to pursue resolution. Southern states had to submit to a 100 years of the Feds running their elections. Then told they dont have standing to contest elections in Northern States? Equal Protection?
Regardless of the issue, SCOTUS denying Texas a voice for standing in the only Constitutional avenue of redress that they have is damning.
It is not logical to expect a just outcome from a corrupt system.

Some throughout my life have accused me of being overly hopeful to a fault at times. My husband is the pessimist and God gave him a crazy optimist for a wife. The news today was painful. I felt like throwing up when I saw the headline. I do think it shows the level of corruption at all levels. But i also wonder if there could be another suit crafted that “trumps” the TX one? Like another friend here said perhaps a suit from a lower court needs to make it’s way through and on to the highest court? REGARDLESS of how the courts play out, I dont see our POTUS conceding. It is foolish to select someone in their 40s to sit on the Supreme Court just because they can be there for 30+ years – better to select someone in their late 50s who can do a 20 year stint but isn’t subject to the pressures you mention….
