Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Do You Believe?
That last verse (John 11:26) actually ends with Jesus asking, “Do you believe this?” It is a question that every person must answer: Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God? Is Jesus the object of your faith? Not faith in ritual, not faith in sacrifices, not faith in morals, not faith in yourself. Do you believe that Jesus died on the cross to free you from the guilt and judgment of sin? Do you believe that He rose from the grave, breaking the power of death and making a way for you to have eternal life in Heaven? If so, you may express your faith in Him by praying this prayer:
Heavenly Father, I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son, and that He died on the cross to save me from my sin. I believe that He rose again to life, and that He invites me to live forever with Him in Heaven as part of Your family. Because of what Jesus has done, I ask You to forgive me of my sin and give me eternal life. I accept the free gift of salvation offered to me. I want to trust Jesus as my Savior and follow Him as my Lord. Help me to live in a way that pleases and honors You. Amen.
Growing in Christ
Once you have received the gift of eternal life and have been made a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17), you will want to grow in your knowledge of Jesus and your obedience to Him. Jesus’ teaching about how to live for God can be summed up in three simple instructions:
Read the Bible. Jesus said, “Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me” (John 14:21). One way to show your love for God is to read the Bible and to live out your new life on the basis of its teaching. Read the Bible daily to learn how to live a life that honors God and gives testimony to others that Jesus has made a difference in your life.
Pray. Communication with God through prayer keeps your focus on eternal things. If you are truly following Jesus, your desires will be for God’s glory and for His kingdom, the church. Jesus promised, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you” (John 15:7).
Seek Christian fellowship. Meeting regularly with Christian brothers and sisters allows you to follow Jesus’ example of love and to fulfill His command to “love one another: just as I have loved you” (John 13:34). Just as Jesus surrounded Himself daily with His disciples and followers, find a Bible-believing church where you can meet with other Christians. There you will find joy and encouragement in the fellowship of God’s people.

For some reason won’t keep the paragraph breaks and spacing after edits. Apologies.
You have to add “Extra” spaces in the edit mode. The spacing you see in the edit mode disappears when posted.
The same thing happens to me when copying and pasting from a word processor program. Today I had to edit because I thought the spacing was too far. I removed it and everything bunched together on me.
In the word processor program, I make the punctuation, paragraph marks, etc visible so I make sure I have that extra space in there before posting here.
Add double spaces in the comment box. The spaces in the comment box in my reply to you disappeared when it was posted and I had to edit my reply!
Sure enough.
Thanks D_I
The spacing problem is not a major problem, but it is something that should go on the list of CTH 2.0 things to be fixed.
And I cannot get the edit mode to accept any extra spaces to fix ‘should’ not being split up.
“Return” key does not add a line feed. This is very old code. Also the soft return when character width limit is reached doesn’t wrap whole words. Unusually old code. Both should be easy fix.
Until fixed, add two Returns to skip one line. I haven’t found a temporary user fix to prevent word splitting with soft line feeds.
let’s see . . .
Seems the edit button disappears after a time.
Yes. You have a limited time window during which edits are possible. After that, the post is fixed. Prevents deleting malicious posts in order to remove “evidence”.
SCOTUS refused to hear the PA election case. Does anyone believe they will intervene when the “establishment” have already decided the outcome? How good are all the “strict constructionists” on the court that the GOP were touting?
SCOTUS didn’t refuse to hear the case, it only refused to grant injunctive relief.
Wisdom Or Folly?
By Pastor Cornelius R. Stam
That moon shot, some weeks ago, was really something! We hit the moon, right on target, took 4,319 pictures on the way, as close as 1,000 feet, and all in extraordinary detail, so that we now have pictures of the moon 1,000 times sharper than any previously taken.
How proud many of us feel now! How wise and great we Americans are! Yet, now that our achievement is a few weeks old, let’s look at it again in the light of the whole picture of American life.
Let’s face it; America is perhaps the most violent of “civilized” nations — and we can’t seem to curb the rapid growth in crime.
Our women dare not walk the streets of many of our larger cities at night — and none of us dare walk through some localities. From shoplifting to armed robbery, from intoxication to dope addiction, from assault to murder, crime in America has risen to an all-time high — and is rising faster all the time.
What good will it do us to achieve landings on the crust of the moon in, say six or eight years, if in the meantime we dissipate our moral strength in dishonesty, immorality, vice and crime? It is in this very connection that St. Paul wrote by inspiration of God:
“For the preaching of the cross is to those who perish foolishness; but unto us who are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent”(I Cor. 1:18,19).
The world, with all its wisdom cannot save itself. It is only Christ’s death on the cross that can save, for there our sins were paid for, that we might be “justified freely by [God’s] grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” (Rom. 3:24).
https://www.bereanbiblesociety.org/wisdom-or-folly/
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
1 Corinthians 15:1 ¶ Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
To the Reader:Some of our Two Minutes articles were written many years ago by Pastor C. R. Stam for publication in newspapers. When many of these articles were later compiled in book form, Pastor Stam wrote this word of explanation in the Preface:
“It should be borne in mind that the newspaper column, Two Minutes With the Bible, has now been published for many years, so that local, national and international events are discussed as if they occurred only recently. Rather than rewrite or date such articles, we have left them just as they were when first published. This, we felt, would add to the interest, especially since our readers understand that they first appeared as newspaper articles.”
To this we would add that the same is true for the articles written by others that we continue to add, on a regular basis, to the Two Minutes library. We hope that you’ll agree that while some of the references in these articles are dated, the spiritual truths taught therein are timeless.

Linda Ronstadt at a point in her career where she was at her absolute best . . . Hard to believe this was 40 years ago., 🙂
Great choice! Just one of her many beautifully, well-done songs!
Amazing talent for sure. Thank you for taking the time to share.
Excellent selection. That one definitely brings back memories.
Remember barefoot Linda on the Johnny Cash show!
Have always loved her and performed so many of her tunes over the years.
Learned this one back in the 70’s – was especially good for me since my primary instrument besides voice is piano, and it has that great piano motif part.

Arrest her, lock her in a cell, and play Christmas pop music (not carols) 24/7 at high volume until she is frothing from the mouth and babbling incoherently. Then commit her to an asylum for life.
Put the boy in an institution to be deprogrammed. He should recover depending on his current age and depth of indoctrination. Then find a decent deserving couple to adopt him. This was definitely a case of child abuse.
GB she already is frothing and babbling incoherently. The problem is the “commit her” part.
We passed child abuse what 10 years ago, maybe 20, I’ve missed much that just now has come to light.
Now I have to apologize. Turns out the ‘mother’ is an angry, twisted, man – and no doubt boy-hating lesbo, and this poor fatherless kid has no doubt been intentionally used, confused and abused.
Dear God, please send a man to rescue him!
?
Cute, Guess that’s as far as the zipper runs.????
Cleared out my cache, have to post a comment I think??
Silly rabbit.
When you come to a fork in the road, take it!
I got my Christmas lights up tonight. I wanted to add another string around the door but found that the standard 100 light string door would make 3 complete circuits. I got everything in place and made the job tidy by using copious amounts of painter’s tape to keep the recalcitrant, overlapping strings in place. It looks pretty good if I do say so. One of the interesting things about putting up Christmas light is that no matter how sloppy your install job looks (ahem) in the daylight—at night everything looks prertty doggone good.
As I was stringing up this extra rather lengthy strand of lights I suddenly realized that I hadn’t actually checked to see if these worked . . . It’s a reall bummer if you spend an hour or two putting up Christmas lights only to find that one of the dog-gone strings has a short. Fortunately these all worked but the point noneless was driven home that iit’s a good thing I don’t do this stuff for a living.
Tonight, I noticed that there’s only one other house on my street with Christmas lights. While some of my neighbors may have their Christmas tree inside where you can’t see it, I suspect most are not putting up lights or a decorated tree. Walking down my darkened street, I was a bit saddened to recall the years past when the whole neighborhood was bright with Christmas lights. Returning to my house, seeing the homemade display that I put up myself, reminds me that, even in darkness, the spirit of Christmas can live if you just make the effort to bring a little light.
Sorry for the awkward editing, folks. I’m still learing to work with Sundance’s new software.
I also put some lights on my doorway, but they can’t be seen from the road. They are for us to enjoy.
But my favorite display which is right on the road are my 3 Trump signs which have been up since September and which are now wrapped in Christmas lights!
My sign is up as well. It will stay up even if SCOTUS and the states don’t correct this fraudulent election.
Good stuff–I have a neighbor who runs a heavy equipment biz. Two nights ago (5PM, when I walk the dog around the block) he had a huge crane is his drive hanging some display high up between two oaks. Last nite there was a welder on teh peak of his roof. Can’t wait to see what’s what.
We took a drive to check out the lights in the area a few nights ago and were
amazed – there are WAY more houses with Christmas decorations up than in
prior years.

Hello, The posts are now showing up for lurkers, YEA!!
Constructive criticism here from someone who (used to) read it all… Please set this evolving comment system to break lines with full words. All the broken unhyphenated words are a total pain to read. I’d bet it’s a simple preference setting would fix it: (Flush Left V.S. Justified). Just sayin, this ain’t rocket science.
Having the comment box at bottom always seemed “right”, but maybe it’s just me wanting to read my fellow Treeper’s comments before jumping in.
Anyway, thanks for all the effort, it’s appreciated.
They’re working hard on the split words problem, and though not rocket science, it’s in fact not at all just a simple choice between left and full justification.
It was pretty clear from the episode earlier today where the pages went kablooie and dark red that the designer is using an HTML style sheet (it’s called a .css file). It’s tricky and persnickety and can require lots of repeated experiments to beat into shape. I’ve seen pages blow up like that whenever the smallest change is attempted.
All part of the sausage making, and I wish the design team luck! I’m confident they’ll get this bug fixed.
Oh hell, having new posts go to the top, is um, very awkward.
And oddly, the other comments on this thread seem to be chronological from top to bottom!
Did everything just go topsy-turvy?
Weird, now all my drivel is at the bottom of the list!
Guess it takes a while to propagate down here.
It will post at the top originally. When you refresh the page, it will move to the bottom or to the correct chronological place.

California, bearly functioning.
Y’all might remember that Elon Musk threatened to move his operations from California to Nevada and/or Texas last May when the state refused to let him reopen one of his plants due to the COViD problem.
Well he’s moved his headquarters to Texas, where he’s building his new factory. That leaves him with the last automobile and aerospace manufacturing plants in California, once a bustling center for both. No definite word as to whether he’ll move those last plants to Texas too but I’m betting that if California gets pissy with him and Texas snuggles up next to him he’ll pack them up so quick that heads will spin.
The trogs are suggesting that he’s moving to spare his overly rich self the over 13% capital gains tax in California, much as they have that long line of other California innovators who’ve grown tired of the tax and state control of businesses there. Let ’em whine, seems California can’t quite grasp that you can’t make a state policy out of killing golden geese, as the state becomes less productive as its producers move elsewhere we can start a beer pool on when it will become the Golden Rustbelt.

THE OFFENCE OF THE NATURAL
“And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.” Gal. v. 24
The natural life is not sinful; we must be apostatized from sin, have nothing to do with sin in any shape or form. Sin belongs to hell and the devil; I, as a child of God, belong to heaven and God. It is not a question of giving up sin, but of giving up my right to myself, my natural independence and self-assertiveness, and this is where the battle has to be fought. It is the things that are right and noble and good from the natural standpoint that keep us back from God’s best. To discern that natural virtues antagonize surrender to God, is to bring our soul into the centre of its greatest battle. Very few of us debate with the sordid and evil and wrong, but we do debate with the good. It is the good that hates the best, and the higher up you get in the scale of the natural virtues, the more intense is the opposition to Jesus Christ. “They that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh” – it is going to cost the natural in you everything, not something. Jesus said – “If any man will be My disciple, let him deny HIMSELF,” i.e., his right to himself, and a man has to realize Who Jesus Christ is before he will do it. Beware of refusing to go to the funeral of your own independence.
The natural life is not spiritual, and it can only be made spiritual by sacrifice. If we do not resolutely sacrifice the natural, the supernatural can never become natural in us. There is no royal road there; each of us has it entirely in his own hands. It is not a question of praying, but of performing.

I’m just half joking here, maybe a lot of us should print out a Chicken Supreme recipe and mail it to the Supreme court.
We could write things across it like, We don’t need a Supreme Court if it doesn’t uphold the constitution, or, Do you want to spend the next 40 years in a packed court under President Harris, or, If you don’t take this case, your goose is cooked, and so on.
Don’t be chicken, supremes.
It would certainly be easier than getting through to them on the phone right now.
But the fact that their phone lines are exploding is a good one.
. . . but deliver us from the Evil One.

I understand youtube is now pulling down all videos claiming election fraud, or that Trump has a path to victory, “due to the safe harbor date being passed…” Looks like we are very close to the inflection point. Noting the current troop placement moves, diplomats being called back to the US by the Pentagon, etc…something is about to hit the fan…
Pardon for asking again, but why no Parler to Share to? I thought we were trying to disuse FB and Twat.
Several days ago I expressed my desire for a non e-mail based system that “Notifies” me when others “Reply” to comments I leave.
My reasoning?
HOW can this be a CONVERSATION if I don’t SEE the replies from others? (WHO has time to scroll through HUNDREDS of unrelated comments to find their own, and then read the replies? I don’t.
And, if it’s NOT a conversation, WHAT IS IT?
Has it devolved into a mass of people, crowded into a small space,
each spewing their own particular opinions, with little interest of what others think on that particular topic?
EGADS! That sounds JUST LIKE TWITTER!
SO….
I wondered…
WHAT IF I EXPLORE THE POTENTIAL that is presented by “DOWNLOADING” THE DISQUS APP?
Sure, it SOUNDS GREAT Just visit their website and YOU’LL SEE!
https://disqus.com
Used properly, it might even make your beds AND cook your breakfast!
BUT… there’s A PRICE: (From Wikipedia)
“Privacy issues have been noted as inherent in the use of services like Disqus, which serve their content through third-party JavaScript widgets.[24][25][26]
As with other embedded web widgets, such as like buttons, the Disqus widget acts as a web bug which tracks a user’s activities, even when they are not logged in, across different sites that use the Disqus commenting system. Information tracked by Disqus, which may be disclosed to third parties, includes pseudonymous analytics data, such as a user’s IP address, their web browser version and installed add-ons, and their referring pages and exit links.[27] Although these data are referred to by Disqus as “Non-Personally Identifiable Information”, such data, when aggregated, has been shown to be usable for de-anonymizing users.[25]
“Disqus has also been criticized for publishing its registered users’ entire commenting histories, along with a list of connected blogs and services, on the publicly viewable user profile pages.[28] The option to keep profile activity private was later added.”
NO THANK YOU
“(WHO has time to scroll through HUNDREDS of unrelated comments to find their own, and then read the replies? I don’t.”
You can keep track of your comments by copying and pasting a link to all your comments into a word processor program.
After commenting, click on it and a little two link chain will appear. Clicking on that will copy the hyperlink to the comment in your Browser/Clip Tray, etc.
When I was commenting a lot, I also pasted a sentence or two to jog the memory of what the link contained. Very helpful, especially with lots of comments on the same thread.
Also, you can use your device’s Find feature to search for your own name on the current page.
On an iDevice, that option is under the 3 dots at top right, Share With, Find In Page.
This is like ‘citizen free press’. No real conversations. I miss the conversations, makes me think.

WaPo has dug deeply and discovered that entrepreneur, abolitionist, and philanthropist Johns Hopkins, whom the university and hospital are named after, owned four slaves!!!! Seems a detailed scourging of the 1850 census found he – GASP – listed four person as property!!!!! Never mind his abolitionist work, never mind his philanthropy, the census said he owned four people. Despite the possibility the census could be wrong it seems that one modern-day ‘Oh Sh*t’ can wipe out over a hundred years of attaboys.
I might suggest that those offended by attending the 9th-rated university in the US instead attend some public university in a ‘woke’ state and those too offended to have their lives saved by the #3 rated hospital in the nation instead go to a public health of VA hospital.

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You. Also, we pray for Angels to protect and support our Sundance as he works for justice and peace.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

Hi. Anybody know whether the rumor about Chinese troops in Canada is actually true? I stumbled across a link on Citizen Free Press, and when I tried to find out more it was only being reported on really random sites. Thanks.
Just to let you know, ever since about Dec. 1, I’ve had trouble following your twitter account on Duck Duck Go. I had to wait for TCH to go back up & view it that way, even tonight. I’m not on twitter.
I thought this open thread is the best place to write this comment.
I understand that people are “literally” up in arms, but what does that mean?
It may be a last resort, but do we want to be like the old Yugoslavia?
Neighbor against neighbor out in the street, with snipers lurking?
Are we going to be like Revolutionaries hanging Tories from lamp posts?
This could happen, but it will not benefit any of us. Let the system play
out and let’s see what Trump has up his sleeve. I think he has something.
