— for the safety of other wall contractors and those involved in building the wall.
— that Fisher’s work would go smoothly with continual, innovative improvements in method/process/efficiency and quality of construction; and with transitioning as they scale up capacity(manpower, equipment, etc.) to be able to build 1+ miles of wall per day, assuming they have enough work to justify the increase in capacity.
— that the DoD IG’s office audit of the $400 million border wall contract which the USACE awarded Fisher Sand & Gravel would show everything is fair and above board; that the swamp in DoD and USACE wouldn’t be able to corrupt the process; & that Fisher would be authorized to proceed with the project as planned. I thought I was so smart and I was in some ways. When I was young, say around age 14 or so, I convinced myself that I was an atheist, even though I had a Christian upbringing.
It took me until about age 18 to realize that to be an atheist, was simply another religion. A religion that, without proof, believes that God does not exist. I decided that I was an agnostic. I knew nothing about God.
I had a devout Christian coworker say to me once early in my engineering career that “Christianity is not intellectually bankrupt.” I was working at a company that was kind of intimidating, because it was like 60% PhDs and almost all the rest were Master’s degree holders, most held degrees in Physics, mathematics and various arcane Physics related degrees. I was working on my Master’s degree. These guys spanned the range from very smart to genius level and beyond.
I was angry at first. I thought that it was inappropriate for him to bring up religion at work. I actually thought about it deeply for several years, but it went nowhere. I just got busy with working and “living life.” Eventually I decided that he was right. There are a lot of intellectual levels of understanding one can have in Christianity. I forgave him in my mind. It was never a big deal in the work environment. The only problem was me and the instinctive aversion to religion that had been programmed into me during my years as UC Berkeley.
About 4 years ago, I was talking to a fellow SCUBA diver about something that had nothing to do with religion. He suddenly said something like “Come on! Look around! Look at the beauty! How can you believe there is not a God!”
Again, I was challenged to think deeply about it. I can’t explain it, but over the course of a couple of days it suddenly became obvious to me that there had to be a greater intelligent force at work. Something so big that I could never comprehend it.
This is coming from a seriously hard core scientist/engineer that previously thought that rational though was a substitute for religion.
Then I stumbled upon CTH.
I am getting a great theological tutorial from posters, in drips and drabs, in Sundance’s and CTH enthusiast’s posts.
I know that I could learn a lot more if I made it a formal study, but I love hearing about the real life experiences of the enormous varied experiences of CTH’ers and how they interpret these experiences through the scriptures and their faith.

I went shopping today, to stock up before election day, in case there is serious disruption. I, as always wore my “Trump 2020” mask to go shopping. I had 5 people compliment me on the mask today. Nobody said anything negative.
Black people were shopping and saw the mask and were not afraid of me (I am a big intimidating, but very friendly dude), as some were in the past. The checker, who had only been working there for 4 days had a lengthy conversation with me about the history curriculum that his high school age kids were experiencing. He saw it because it was online. He was livid.
He had lost his business and then 2 jobs due to the lockdown and was hurting financially in a big way and he blamed demoncrats. He said his kids are turning against him because of his teachers.
I need to go back to the store and invite him out for a burger for lunch or something.
I am praying for him and his family.
Joemama, That was a beautiful thing to post. You are being so transparent—-something that takes a lot of courage. I’ve always heard this statement and know it to be true: God creates us with a God-shaped void that only He can fill. We try to fill it with all sorts of things until we finally reach a point where only God can fill it. Somewhere back there you had a praying parent, grandparent, or perhaps even your co-worker that prayed for you. God loves us enough to bring those prayers to fruition. God bless you and the man that you are showing compassion to. God’s love in action.

I don’t know. I haven’t asked her who she voted for and I probably never will.
I told her today about the group of people in Nigeria having a march in support of PDJT.
She as well as I were puzzled by this. To me, this means that people around the world recognize the importance of PDJT winning this election. I also told her about the 5 rallies that PDJT was going to hold today. She was impressed by his stamina.
I haven’t asked her, but I suspect that she voted for PDJT.
I love my wife, even if she doesn’t agree with me politically. Yes, it causes problems, but I take the vow “until death do us part ” very seriously and I believe that my wife does too. I also believe that my wife will eventually come to agree with most of my opinions over time, as she learns the truth of what is happening.
I love my wife unconditionally.

My mother-in-law is a master quilt maker. She lives in Northern CA. She made wonderful quilts for my children, who treasure them to this day. They got them when they were children and now they are young adults.
She has given quilts to everyone in our large extended family. They are really something special.

My life’s path was not unsimilar to yours. I had the great fortune and blessing to always find myself among the best and the brightest engineers scientists. Although my immigrant father warned me of how Hitler’s socialism destroyed his homeland, I was a 60’s rebel and thought I knew better. Fresh out of engineering college I was writing software for Space Shuttle and it went upward from there. I was somehow guided to two mentors in Cape Canaveral – a devout pro-life Catholic from and a no-nonsense southern Baptist. Their knowledge of spacecraft and complex systems astonished and humbled me. Their faith in God left a life long impression on me.
I scoff at this nonsense of robotics, intelligence and all the other “big tech” the globalists think they can use to control and replace us “lesser beings”. These are all trivial tools in the face of Gods work. I am old now but look back and know that most crowning moments of man’s most complex technical achievements, pale in comparison to God’s hand in life’s simplest miracles.
I thank the Lord that the Holy Spirit kicked my stubborn arse along. And now late in life I finally opened my eyes to what my father told me would come if we trusted government with our freedom.
For me, the Last Refuge has been just that!

Joemama, fantastic post! I am the same traveler but just a different path. I came from a small midwestern town, and somewhere along the way, in my 62 years I got to see over 80 countries, almost entirely through my work, and here is what I found:
Everywhere in the world, there is kindness, and there is evil as well. But most people I met were generally moral, respectful, and quietly spiritual. It’s a shame that during this mask era, we can see their eyes but not their smile. The two together are the package that shows that we have made a connection. Amazingly powerful human interaction!
I found the Treehouse during Trayvon Martin case. I have always been conservative and knew that I had found an anchor for my beliefs, and the posters as a family have been a huge source of my calm but determined resolve. And even though I was a daily lurker until just recently and commented, I have spent every day for the past years sharing CTH insights with those that were around me.
Our leader has unlocked the power of our people; that we choose optimism over negativity. That our spiritual being is a force that cannot be defeated. Reagan saw a shining city on a hill. President Trump wants ALL people to live there. Bless you all, and now, lets finish this!!!

Joemama, If you are going to doubt God, be bold and give it all you have. If He Is, then he can take it, and has answers. God teaches us to seek him, and promises we will find him and he will run to greet us.
I grew up a faithful, believing Christian. Before I chose my undergrad, I was afraid my faith would be shaken. I set out to firm up my knowledge of God before I chose state (where I had a full scholarship) vs religious school. I studied the science of the origins of the earth, man, and evolution. I found brilliant people on both sides of the fence, and liars/biased people on both sides. But the math of spontaneous generation of life and/evolution is impossible.
If you need tangible — study the human genome, then go backwards seeking how it came to be. Then go forward with what the genetic blueprint in every cell of our body is supposed to do, and how it accomplishes this. Then take the science that seeks answers to how we should live together.
Every reproducible system that produces excellence in humans has the elements and developmental processes of a family, of how scripture tells us to live among each others, and seek Truth together. Study history closely down to the level of the human souls, passions, feelings, and relationships — and you will see God clearly.
All of God’s heroes were flawed human beings who grew in their hardship to see God clearly. The same thing is happening to our Lion PDJT, and to our Nation. It is no coincidence that you are seeing God in this ragtag congregation of rebel Patriots in an ethernet Treehouse.
Joemama, your humility and transparency of your growth of faith and stature, is a declaration to the universe of the Power and Glory of our Creator — and your being is doing exactly what He created you for. I’m proud to have you as a brother.
