For most of the day, none of the three major market indices changed much one way or the other. They ended up down 1.3 to 1.5%. Is that what you call “tanking”? I call it a minor, insignificant fluctuation.
I know that fake news conduits like CNBC are advancing an explanation for this nothing burger but that is what they do all the time to make people believe that “they know what they are saying”. IMHO, anyone who attempts to explain an insignificant change in an index is a liar deserving no credence whatsoever. CNBC has been “composing” for a (dirty) living for a very long time.

I am very uninformed about the current conflict with Armenia & Azerbaijan & it is hard to find coverage I trust on the issues of last weeks fighting. I think there is growing recognition that we are nearing a real tipping point. Restaurants are running out of time. They can scrape a few pennies together by setting up outdoor dining. But Winter is coming to much of the country and restaurant closures will devastate many cities. I’ve heard a bunch of quotes along the lines of “we can make to the nd of the year – but then that’s it – finished.
So I think we will see a trickle, then a flood of re-openings – for no other reason than to stave off Armageddon. Also – my hope is that the administration is seeing positive signs in the economy anyway.

They left off the one major weapon used by the fear mongers to sew panic, TESTING. Reduce testing to “surveillance level” as nearly every other nation has done. That decouples all the BS testing as well as reporting done officially and unofficially from the “official” assessment of progress. It also stops the use of finite numbers in reporting, reducing reports to rates vs specific sample sizes, dates and test type.
Finally some common sense. I’ve been saying the same thing all along. There are *some* people who should take extra steps to protect themselves from SARS-COV-2, because *some* are at higher risk of life threatening complications. The virus can slam these people hard, and overload their immune system within 3 days of infection.
We *should* therefore help this particular population with early interventions and the proper medications. Not so easy to do, what with all the disinfo out there, but that is the *only* way to put this whole PLANDEMIC to bed.
The rest of us can then go about our normal lives, and stop all this ridiculous, over-the-top fear mongering because MOST PEOPLE SURVIVE COVID-19… just like Donald Trump!
Also, if the people who are NOT high risk would just get their butts out there, maybe we could develop herd immunity faster.

People along the central Gulf coast need to be getting ready for Hurricane Delta. The hurricane is rapidly intensifying today in the western Caribbean and is currently 952MB and 140mph sustained winds(in eyewall).
It may weaken some If it goes over far northern Yucatan but probably not much. Then computer models show it moving North across the Gulf and threatening Gulf coast.(especially Louisiana based on current models).
Thoughts and prayers for those in its path. Hopefully wind shear will impact it some in the northern Gulf in a few days, but that’s no guarantee.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.
I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a President to do one cotton-picking thing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.
Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The President can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.
The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House now? She and fellow House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want. If the President vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.
It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts — of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red.
If the Army & Marines are in Iraq and Afghanistan it’s because they want them in Iraq and Afghanistan …
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way.
There are no insoluble government problems.
Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like “the economy,” “inflation,” or “politics” that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.
Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.
They, and they alone, have the power.
They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses. Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees…

One issue he has covered, but not in this article; when a Company or individual donates $ to a charity, and then DEDUCTS that donation on their income tax, they have an obligation to make sure the Charity is “legitimate”, if not the “Charitable contribution” can be “disallowed” and the ‘contributor’ can then can be required to PAY the tax on the $, plus interests and penalties.
Given that there was not, and IIRC STILL is not an official charity, and the only papers ever filed, were to build a Presidential library, and given the YUGE amounts of money that were funneled through the phoney charity, and that any “contributor” could have easily ascertained it’s bogus nature, and Corporations that contributed had a fiduciary responsibility to confirm before donating,….it’s a mess.
