Generally we stay away from the Hollywood gossipy ‘People Mag-Type’ stuff.  However, with Dorkman Clooney we make an exception; because like the insufferable Moonbat, Matt Damon, Clooney does political stuff that can actually have adverse consequence.

This article about Clooney is so accurate it bears sharing.

George Clooney, Valerie Jarrett
(CafeMom.Com)   A lot of you ladies (and gents) out there will be disappointed to hear that George Clooney, self-declared eternal bachelor, is supposedly getting married!
Scratch that.
He’s apparently engaged (still has to make it to the altar).
People Magazine and Page Six are reporting that Hollywood heartthrob *cough* Clooney, 52,  is engaged to Amal Alamuddin, 36, the London lawyer who he has been dating for less than a year.
Oh, where to begin?
The impetus for all these rumors is … a ring, a BIG ring (“conspicuous” according to People), on her left hand.
We gotta say, if this IS the real deal, we aren’t the least bit surprised.
obama-clooney-fairey-ap-photoHere’s the thing. Clooney is a guy who thinks he’s a lot smarter than he is. He gets involved with causes, he hangs with Samantha Power, Clooney defends his BFF — the President of the United States. But, people, the guy’s an actor.
He’s not a real doctor (he played one on TV!). He’s not a real journalist (he played one in a movie!). He’s an arrogant actor who, admittedly, has become better looking as he’s aged (though he’s still not all that) and who has wooed Hollywood and the press with his charm and pranks and “roguish” personality. (George, you are no Cary Grant.) He’s an entertainer, a jester.
Clooney has repeatedly made it clear that he is NOT. GETTING. MARRIED. EVER. AGAIN. He’s made bets — for tens of thousands of dollars — with actresses like Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, and Sandra Bullock that he would never tie the knot (time to pay up!). So far, he’s won those bets, but only because he hasn’t really been playing the game. Clooney has dated waitresses and wrestlers and hooters, and women who have been into the whole “I’m dating George Clooney” thing.
Yet, when some magazine asked him about the people (dead or alive) who he’d like to have dinner with — he mentioned women like Christiane Amanpour. Um, yeah. That tells you something. This is a guy who desperately wants to be high-brow and intellectual, but he dates low-brow and not-so-intellectual types. It’s EASY to win an “I’m never going to get married” bet when you date people who don’t interest you on anything but a superficial (around chest) level. Frankly, it’s a little sexist.  (continue reading)
