As noted in this somewhat slanted partisan article (below) Al Gore is conspicuously absent from the DNC Convention. The claim is because of President Obama’s wishy-washy positions on “Green Issues”, but the issue is actually deeper still.
Al Gore’s financial status is dependent on global warming vis-a-vis “Cap n Trade”. Not only is he a one policy special interest advocate, but he has strategically invested all of his financial efforts into creating the ‘next bubble’ Energy Carbon Trading.
His ire with Obama is not because the President is not a radical environmentalist, which Obama certainly is; the bigger issue is the disappointment on Gores anticipated return on investment being delayed because of weakened economics.
Al Gore and his like-minded Wall Street and Global financiers, have invested heavily on a system of financial gain from a ‘cap n trade’ scheme; similar in construct and origination to the housing loan bond market schemes. They have been betting for a number of years on some type of trade market being created through the use of energy carbon credits.
Obviously President Obama has crippled the coal industry, undermined the oil industry, and worked diligently to dispatch fossil fuel exploitation. But he has been unable to advance carbon trading into the legislative arena because of a horrible economy.
As bad as President Obama is, even he knows that to initiate an entirely new system of taxation via energy pricing (Cap N Trade) would cripple any modicum of an economic recovery. The cost to businesses and individuals would be staggering and destructive, and would most certainly eliminate any hope of a 2nd term.
However, in Term Two, WATCH OUT. Nothing would be standing in the way of forced carbon trading by dictatorial fiat through the Dept of Energy and the EPA regulatory arm; which would automatically create the trading platform Al Gore and his cohorts are counting on to enlarge their portfolios and create a system of massive wealth gain.
(The daily.com) Al Gore is boycotting the Democratic National Convention because he doesn’t get along with President Obama and is disappointed that Obama hasn’t pushed harder for a cap-and-trade law that would force Americans to use less fossil fuels, sources tell Flash.
While tens of thousands of Democrats from across the country are gathered in Charlotte, N.C., Gore stayed in New York to cover the convention for his struggling Current TV channel. “Gore was not treated respectfully by the Obama team. He’s snubbing them, because they snubbed him,” said one Democratic fundraiser.
Former President Bill Clinton has been given an active role in Obama’s re-election effort, and was given a prime-time slot to speak just before Obama accepted his nomination last night. But Clinton’s running mate, a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, has been an invisible man.
“He’s been missing in action. It’s not just the convention. Gore hasn’t made any speeches for for Obama, or campaign appearances, or fundraising solicitations … nothing,” said our source. (read more)
