Democrat Senator John Kerry meets with leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood,  the new majority governing body of Egypt, just after the Palestinian terror group Hamas announces they are joining the Brotherhood in Jihad.    Think about that……
CAIRO –  Sen. John Kerry has met in Cairo with members of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamist group that’s set to dominate the new parliament.  In a statement, the Muslim Brotherhood says three of its top officials attended the meeting with the Massachusetts Democrat, who was accompanied by U.S. Ambassador Anne Patterson.

Brotherhood officials vowed to respect civil rights and international treaties that have been signed in the past. That assurance could be an attempt to calm fears that the group may try to re-examine Egypt’s peace treaty with Israel.
The group says Kerry told the Brotherhood’s members that he’s not surprised by their success in parliamentary elections.  The elections were the first since President Hosni Mubarak was ousted.  Kerry, who is also chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, was among the first U.S. politicians to call on Mubarak to step down earlier this year.  (read more)

(Ynet) — A senior Hamas source told the London-based Arabic-language al-Hayat newspaper on Saturday that the Palestinian organization has joined the global movement of the Muslim Brotherhood.

According to the source, the move took place as early as two months ago. The expression “a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood — Palestine” has been added to Hamas’ official name — “The Islamic Resistance Movement.”
The source added that the move had nothing to do with recent changes in the Middle East following the Arab Spring.
“Following thorough discussions, which lasted more than a year and a half, we saw the need to take this step as the movement is growing and there was a need to lead it to independence instead of being dependent on the Muslim Brotherhood organization in Jordan.

“Hamas no longer belongs to any organization, but has become completely independent,” he said, adding that the group was now part of the global Muslim Brotherhood organization and was officially represented there.  Despite its official admission into the global organization, the source noted that Hamas would continue carrying the flag of armed resistance.  (read more)

Now, riddle me this.  Since Hamas is a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by the U.S. State Department can the Obama regime continue to have official ties to the Muslim Brotherhood without being in violation of the law?  And now that Hamas and the Brotherhood are aligned wouldn’t this official meeting between the Muslim Brotherhood and Senator John Kerry be considered illegal?
