Behind this comment by President Obama is a heap of hope. Hope that Obama/Plouffe/Axelrod can quickly plant seeds of doubt inside Perry’s psyche. It’s brutally obvious that Perry has already accomplished exactly that within Obama and his own team.
Obama: Perry “Needs To Be More Careful” What He Says WASHINGTON, Aug 16 (Reuters) — The White House denounced Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry on Tuesday for his threatening remarks toward the head of the U.S. Federal Reserve that represented some of the most inflammatory rhetoric of the 2012 election campaign.
At a campaign event on Monday, Perry was asked if Obama loved the country, and replied, “You need to ask him.” Asked whether Perry’s remarks were disrespectful, Obama said he would “cut him some slack” as a new candidate.
“Everybody who runs for president, it probably takes them a little bit of time before they start realizing that this isn’t like running for governor or running for senator or running for Congress, and you’ve got to be a little more careful about what you say,” Obama said on CNN’s “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer.” (read more)
Ladies and Gentleman “Let’s Get Ready to Rumble”…. In boxing terminology you can score this a 10-8 round for Perry with a resounding beginning round by throwing Obama et al off their game and leaving them trying to shake it off in the corner….
Quickly the cheering section from the New York Times jumps to Obama’s defense:

So let’s get this straight, the vice president and every Democrat under the sun — in addition to New York Times columnists! — can call Republicans terrorists. That’s no big deal. Rick Perry says playing politics with the economy is “almost treasonous” and the New York Times rushes to label these remarks “horrifying.”
