When do you know the White House is circling the drain of irrelevance?

Apparently the Washington Post has just discovered Michelle Obama “fist pumps”…. or something;  and they are quite giddy in their rush to share:

(Washington Post)  First Lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden, welcomed a group of mothers with ties to the military to the White House today for a Mother’s Day tribute.

Then this happened:

Yes, that’s Michelle Obama arm-pumping in response to cheers from the crowd after Biden referenced the fact that she was a military mom. (Beau Biden, the Delaware Attorney General, served in Iraq.)

Michelle Obama also addressed the crowd. “We have an extraordinary group here today,” Obama said, according to CBS News. “Moms who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan, military partners who have moved across the country again and again, grandmothers… We have some really phenomenal representation of what mothering can mean.”  (read more)

I guess the Washington Post overlooked it when both Michelle and Barack were displaying their technique at the Presidential inauguration.
