Watching the School Bus Beatdown video again, just gave me an idea.   Let’s be progressive for a day:

Don’t we value our school bus drivers?
We should be demanding our congress people require protective cages retrofitted in all school buses to protect the drivers from physical harm.  They most certainly need some form of protection from the inherent risks they are transporting.
Shouldn’t we also be demanding plexiglass safety barriers in all school classrooms between the teachers and the students?   Don’t we value the lives of our teachers as much as the local bank tellers, or convenience store clerks?

While we are at it, why don’t we require RFID chips on all students, maybe on their id badges, so their locations can be tracked by institutional safety compliance officers who can monitor them remotely from secured CCTV rooms outfitted with advanced technology.  Any deviations can then be handled by rapid response teams.
We can then legislate safety for the lunch ladies and provide them the security of protective barriers from the growing risks on the other side of their shields.
Moving along we can then give our local law enforcement armored personnel carriers, or tanks so they can more easily traverse the streets.    Wait,… wha… what?   Oh, we’ve already got that covered…..  my bad.
So how about we control, through legislation of course, caloric intake, and food/nutrition to insure that every child gets the same exact opportunity for the appropriate intake of food stuffs.   What?   Oh, well…… um, never mind then.
Then how about working on eliminating private enterprise bad food nutrition;  like say McDonalds bans or something?   Huh… what’s that?…   Again?…. already?…   Sheeeesh…
Yeah, well, about those school buses….
