As a New Yorker, I was hoping she would do the same for us. The DOJ can bring suits against the states that private attorneys cannot. I was told by a knowledgeable attorney that a suit for discrimination against our 2nd amendment rights by states such as ours would take 2-3 lawyers a few hours to draft.

Since Thune’s refusal to bring up the SAVE Act for a vote started as a standoff between Thune and Trump over a Trump endorsement for Cornyn, maybe Thune might had planned to pass the SAVE Act after the election. Thune doesn’t run the Senate now. Not getting the SAVE Act as a tool further weakened Harmeet’s ability to do her job.
