Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

A November CURSDAY morning, Garrison 💕🍁…the first…and I wish I came today with more joie de vivre. Alas and alack (emphasis on the “lack”) it has upped and left. But despite our woeful circumstances I have brought a few friends to leave for everyone. As you can see from the first one, I have decided that the best escape for all of us (in spirit at least) is probably in one of your jazz cafes or bookstores for the next four years. ‘Twill be a more peaceful refuge in every way I think. Hoping there is enough seating as I invite everybody to join me, either there or on the front porch below. Bring your guitar when you come, dear friend 👍🏻😘☕
And fair warning…
There are some leftover Halloween dogs who last week didn’t get their shot to show off their costumes. Every dog has his day, and I’m making sure they get it 🎃🍂😊
First prize!!!
Mr and Mrs Kravitz…💕
What a joy it would be to wake up to face like this every morning!! 💕
Gooooood question.
Dogs can spell…and that’s just a fact 😎👍🏻
Mornin’ dear Bet. I feel a bit blessed when I find myself in good agreement with my Treeper friends. First with ‘dear lady’ last night and tonight your thoughtful comments brought me into another close alignme—I feel the same way.
I think being of a ‘certain age’ can serve as an advantage—sitting in a coffee shop and watching such a politicized world go buy ain’t necessarily a bad thing. Certainly not as bad as being a lot younger and actually having to figure out how to deal with the piles of c-hit that the progressive ideologues will undoubtedly send our way. Pass me another slice of apple pie and a refill please!
My neighborhood is decidedly progressive, something I’ve become accustomed to. Although many of these folks are friends, there are only one or two I’ll talk politics with. Otherwise I’m just . . . ‘the old guy from down the street’ . . .
Happily, my neighborhood has good sidewalks and is very dog-walkable so at almost any reasonable time day or night I can see folks walking their dogs. I guess I could be persnickety turn my nose up at them for being so wrong politically, but they tend to be otherwise rather nice folk . . . I so enjoy seeing their dogs, I find myself longing to have another dog. It’s something I haven’t really come to grips with. Giving my walking difficulties and knowing my habits this is something I’ll probably keep pushing off into the the future.
Last night I visited by favorite dive-bar. When I do this I’m on geezer time—two hours, two Shiner Bocks, home by 9. I sat with some friends, one of whom is quite political. She heard me talking about socialism’s tendency to put dogma above freedom and liberty (long story here) and demanded more explanation. Having taught this for decades, I calmly explained causing her promptly leave the table. Happily she soon returned, was not upset and resumed listening to music from our table.
Still, I knew she was very political . . . so when I left to go home I stopped to say good night. I promised her that if she wanted to talk politics I’m be happy to do so. I also mentioned that given our differences we probably won’t agree on much but, having taught for so many years, I never get angry when talking politics. Next time I’m at the bar I’m sure we’ll have one of *those* conversations. But that’s OK, I do like her, she’s someone who’s company I enjoy.
Have a wonderful and very blessed week, dear Bet. The longer we get to do this, the more thoroughly enjoyable it becomes. Be well, love. 🙂
I had worked TWO jobs before I was 15…..bagger at a Food Giant and a Exxon gas station attendant. My mom drove me to both…..
