Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

FOR ALL THE SAINTS
One of the elders answered, saying to me, “These who are arrayed in the white robes, who are they, and where did they come from?”
I told him, “My lord, you know.”
He said to me, “These are those who came out of the great suffering.
They washed their robes and made them white in the Lamb’s blood.
Therefore they are before the throne of God,
And they serve him day and night in his temple.
He who sits on the throne will spread his tabernacle over them.
They will never be hungry or thirsty any more.
The sun won’t beat on them, nor any heat;
For the Lamb who is in the middle of the throne shepherds them
And leads them to springs of life-giving waters.
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
— Rev 7: 13-17
1. For all the saints who from their labors rest,
Who Thee by faith, before the world confessed,
Thy name, O Jesus, be forever blest.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
2. Thou was their rock, their fortress and their might;
Thou, Lord, their captain in the well-fought fight;
Thou in the darkness drear, their one true light.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
3. Oh, may Thy soldiers, fiathful, true, and bold,
Fight as the saints, who nobly fought of old
And win with them the victor’s crown of gold!
Alleluia! Alleluia!
4. Oh blest communion, fellowship divine!
We weakly struggle, Thou in glory shine;
Yet all are one, for in Thee all are Thine.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
5. And when the fight is fierce, the warfare long,
Steals on the ear the distant trimumph song.
And hearts are brave again, and arms are strong.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
6. The golden eveniing brightens in the west;
Soon, soon to faithful warriors cometh rest;
Sweet is the calm of paradise the blest.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
7. But lo, there breaks a yet more glorious day:
The saints triumphant rise in bright array;
The King of Glory passes on His way.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
8∆ From earth’s wide bounds, from ocean’s farthest coast,
Through gates of pearl streams in the countless host,
Singing to Father, Son, and Holy Ghost:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Hey there, Garrison 💕☕ So autumn/fall has arrived…by the calendar anyway. But Texas being Texas, well, you know. I won’t let the lingering summer heat stop me though. I’m in autumnal mood as you will see below, adding mellow music to yours as we get ready for “the season of mists of mellow fruitfulness” (as surely it must be somewhere)….and thank you, John Keats. In the meantime here come this week’s finds, our lovely friends without whom life’s edges would be just a little sharper. WOOF!!
The Sphinx, bless him 💕
And now for an important political announcement 🇺🇸
Only his hairdresser knows for sure…
Yes!!!!! 💕
A Public Service Announcement
The FDA has approved a year long “poison” I next ion for dogs to repel fleas. The name of it is “BRAVECTO QUANTUM” which is causing seizures and death. Many vets are alarmed and are warning dog owners.
Here is a highly recommended substitute. Reviewers have stated that their dogs love these 💕

Morning, dear Bet. I’m also in an autumnal mood. If I imagine a tiny bit, I can
convince myself that, since we now formally in fall, that early mornings let me feel just a small bit of fall . . . Not, of course—the crisp fall mornings, free of Texas heat and humidity, just aren’t here yet. Soon, soon, however, that first fall ‘norther’ will sweep in and surprise us all as those fast-moving Canadian fronts often do . . . Early fall here in Texas is always full of surprises.
One thing I genuinely look forward too in the fall is the opportunity to change my headgear. I have a good collection of knitted wool, ‘Flat caps’ that are currently just to hot to wear in 90F weather. These are hand-made in Ireland and are quite distinctly ‘over there’ in design. They are quite common caps worn by all sorts of people, both men and women. But if you look at old photos you’ll immediately notice people, mostly men and boys, wearing flat caps. I’ve worn them for years, imagining that my Scots-Irish heritage, provides license of some sort. At least I prefer to think so.
While they’re traditional and everyday wear in Ireland, Scotland, and the UK, they’re ever so slightly engaging here in the ‘States’. I often have people asking curious questions about my hat. But then, I’m sure when you lived in Wales, flat caps—like the landscape— were simply a part of your everyday life.
This will be my first fall, without little ‘Tink. I still miss her gentle companionship, especially her favorite perch on my shoulder on chilly nights. I prefer to think she simply decided to go walkabout and found herself a new home.
The other day, I visited a near neighbor. They have adopted an elderly Yorkie whose owner has died. He’s quite a charming little guy. immediately climbing onto my lap for some gentle petting. Now that I’m walking a bit better, I’m having ‘what if’ thoughts about finding an elderly Yorkie who will easily accommodate my slow gait. I know I move slowly on things but I do feel I need a companion. And an elderly little dog might be just the thing.
Be well, dear Bet. I so value your friendship. Its always such a pleasure to visit with you here amongst our limbs. 🙂
Talarico The Chief Liar A church membership card doesn’t buy you a VIP pass to heaven.
“Liar-in-Chief” is a biting, catchy country-pop track calling out the slick pretenders, false prophets, and political hypocrites who try to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes. It’s time to look past the lies, wake up the neighborhood, and keep the deceivers away from the kids. Pass it on down and let the whole town know!
Isle of Man TT track. The most dangerous track in motorsports based on fatalities (270 riders plus 10 fans or officials).
37+ miles trough mountain, hill and dale and multiple old villages on roads originally laid out for horse drawn traffic. Dogs and cats cross the track in the villages and out in the country there are long runs with no fences where sheep graze and geese and other birds fly. No engineered run offs, very few buffered barriers. in the villages the road is bordered by stone walls or houses/buildings right up against the road. Up on the mountain they can face rapidly changing conditions as the climb and descend and powerful cross winds.
Top class motorcycles reach over 200 mph on the longer straights. Record for the whole course is over 136 mph avg.
