OHIO – Vivek Ramaswamy coasted to the Republican nomination for Ohio governor on May 5, easily defeating primary rival Casey Putsch in a race that was called by NBC News and Decision Desk HQ not long after polls closed.
The 40-year-old biotech mogul, who ran for president in 2024, will face Democrat Amy Acton, a 60-year-old physician who ran unopposed, in November.

Gov. Mike DeWine (DeRino) appointed Dr. Amy Acton as the Ohio state health director in 2019 despite being a known liberal. During the unfolding months of Covid she earned the name Dr. Lockdown for ordering the closure of K-12 schools, businesses and gatherings. Then she quit in the middle of her term. Even though Vivek won the Republican primary overwhelmingly, the dems had 10,000 more primary voters for each of their state-wide candidates. Yes, Trump won Ohio by double digit margins three times, but our state-wide candidates (Jon Husted for Senate against Sherrod Brown) need to run hard.

Have to say that I am beyond disappointed that this was the best candidate that the Ohio GOP could produce…he will probably “win” just because of the politics of the state, BUT that doesn’t mean there were not better people who really understand the history, the hopes, and the values of the state! Vivek and Acton seem to both be running on agendas that would be attractive to voters.
