Go teams!
Definitely needs saving…..Bring in Nick…..GOAT
The Man, PDJT, certainly has energy!
Get rid of the NCAA. Get rid of NIL. Get rid of transfer portal. Get rid of Title IX. Get rid of biological men in women’s sports (but I repeat myself). Get rid of whatever montrosity produced the football playoff selections this year. Get rid of any media company direct investments in college conferences or sports. Get rid of legalized gambling on college sports.
Get rid of all those things and there would be nothing left of college athletics.
Nothing, that is, except kids who want to participate in sports for the challenge, thrill, and fun of it.
Would love it if someone, preferably from the NFL, decided to push the limits of this trans bull shi-t. As their NFL career was winding down, they go back to college to play ball. Identify as someone that never went to college and was only 20 years old. Let’s see how the courts deal with that.
I mean honestly, what could ANY court argue was different about what he was claiming versus any f’d up tranny. This is such an easy layup to put up.
That, in a nutshell, is the fix…..to quote Nick Sabin….
Bet Nick hates to be in agreement with PT ….Liberal with a capital L. Wonder what he thinks about his “burn it all down” Dem Reps?
Legalized Gambling has ruined college and professional sports.
The multi-million dollar players won’t risk cheating — but the umpires and referees? Easily compromised …
Too many horses out of the barn
they need a total reset
Aren’t there more important things going on right now than sportball?
You need to get out more.
I think he needs to stay in more and keep off his computer, imho.
Yes there are, but the present state of college sports is very important nonetheless.
We have a President right now who is uniquely skilled in being able to handle many important issues at the same time. He’s clever that way.
The time he spends on college sports reform will not in any way cause President Trump to lose focus on the economy, or Iran, or Ukraine, or illegal aliens, or any other “more important” issue.
Our President will remain laser focused on all of the above-and much more-because he has been chosen and equipped by God “for such a time as this.”
The meeting in the White House with buy in from Republicans and Democrats was terrific. This was
the condition President Trump insisted on to host this important meeting.
There was agreement that college athletes should be paid. However paying some superb college athletes millions of dollars is unseemly and wrong. There seemed to be agreement with Nick Saban that the transfer portal needs to be eliminated. Athletes should not be able to transfer from one college to another every year. College should be about education not greed. The athletes lose credits when they transfer and there is no continuity for college teams.
I hope this problem can be solved. I like college sports but things are crazy now.
College is a business. College sports are part of that business. Granted, it’s a business the majority of the public has been indoctrinated into believing we cannot do without Should a person be limited in switching jobs? Only pretenders want to believe the majority of the of “student athletes” in the top tier are there for learning. I thought we don’t pretend here.
Think about it….how would the top tier player`benefit without ridding on the backs of second tier players?….They wouldn’t, cause the game can’t be played without a team. But by empowering a player to basically take a squat on his teammates to profit for himself just ain’t a good idea for the future of the sport. Non pretending of course.
Just like those that are there to educate themselves in something they are gifted at, the student athlete should be no different. Your payoff is when you graduate. And whether a college profits from tuition paid or profits from the sport you played in but pay no tuition…is a business decision. Know whether the taxpayer is helping foot that business is a topic for another day.
Amen and AMEN ✝️🙏
Unlike the previous administration Trump can walk, run, chew gum, think, organize, solve problems etc. etc. at the same time.
Whenever I hear a question like that, it always puzzles me. At any given time, while entertaining any given subject, there is usually something one can point to as “more important,” so does that mean that while that crisis point is addressed everything else has to come to a halt? How silly.

the corrupt NCAA bureaucracy wants the even more corrupt Congress to come and rescue them. pfffffttttttt
Everything is about pay to play or pay for play!

Nice post but OT.
I have no interest in sports but I am enjoying watching President Trump kicking butt.
He’s killing it on the poor judges decisions.
ABOUT CURRENT EVENTS… Well, well, well… SUNDANCE will like this one. Fun times ahead.

MAJOR BREAKING
Mexico has announced it is undertaking bilateral trade talks with the USA …undercutting Canada and USMCA completely!!
Canadian trade rep. LeBlanc is ALREADY on route to the USA to fight against this move. THIS IS IT!!
https://x.com/Tablesalt13/status/2029983989436424469?s=20
SORRY but Canada’s Trade Team was in D.C. today.
Canada-U.S. Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc was in Washington, D.C., on Friday to meet U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.
When LeBlanc emerged from the meeting, CBC News asked him what happened in the talks, but his only comment before getting into a waiting vehicle was “Have a good weekend.”
In a statement Friday afternoon, LeBlanc’s office described the discussion as “constructive and substantive.”

Well if Leblanc said it, it must be twue.

Nicely played.
End the portal.
It’s supposed to be amature sports.
Not the free for all of trading players like they are on a block.
In football and basketball, and maybe some other sports, college sports have been functioning as the minor leagues of the pro sports teams.
The best athletes, with notable exceptions, are seen, not as real students at all, but as paid semi-professional athletes. University administrators knowingly lower their admission standards to allow them to attend classes with real students, to attract popular attention to their schools.
Many more qualified students are denied acceptance in favor of less qualified applicants who can play ball.
Why not let the NFL and the NBA form their own minor league teams, like pro baseball? And completely detach the teams from college.
Why pretend that pro athletes need to go to college first to play sports?
Why not give free tuition and “scholarships” to real students on the basis of actual scholarship?
EXACTLY 👍
All outstanding ideas.
The athletes are basically applying and are in training when they play ball in college. It is fortunate that for many years colleges, Universities, other sports, players and fans all benefit in their own way. Go back to the way it was. By the way those that play in college ….was said that only 1% get to go on and play professionally.
Let me say right off the bat (the sweet spot of course) that I have read all 23 of the posts that have been aent
A president of the people, how novel. How nostalgically…American.

Point counter point. My argument for NIL and portal.
A lot of money in college athletics. The money goes to the college and the coaches. Coaches get paid BiG $$$.
With NIL and portal, the player can scoop some of that consumer surplus from the college and coaches.
It changes whole structure of the economics of college athletics.
Nick is lying when he says we only try to provide a growing atmosphere for each athlete.
It has been rumored for years that the former college power houses paid players under the table. NIL brings it into the light and available for all colleges. There should be some tweaking, however congress is not the answer. Everything they touch turns to 💩
It’s not a rumor. Common knowledge of alumni gifts to player for a long time. Into the 1970s.
Correct, the govt involved will mess this more.
1. Tell college athletes they have 5 years to get their 4 years of eligibility.
2. If the head coach who recruited you leaves for a bunch of money somewhere else, you can transfer somewhere else with no penalty.
3. Outside of that, the athlete gets one more free transfer. That’s it.
4. Schools are free to pay NIL deals to any athlete they want. No limit on the money.
5. If an athlete transfers away from a school without a diploma, or exhausts his eligibility without earning a diploma, that school loses the opportunity to fill that scholarship position for another athlete for 4 years.
6. If a coach breaks his contract to jump to another school, he has an automatic suspension of 1 year with no pay, after which he can coach the new team.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Pay the athletes without limit? I don’t think so! That squeezes everyone else out. A small expense salary so they don’t have to work for spending money and a little extra to save for there 5th year of college. They should be expected to study, pass classes and work toward an actual degree. Between training and college work/study they have no time to work a job if they’re there to train year round, accomplish success, bring in money to the college through sporting events and graduate!
Good. This whole thing is a real cluster in my opinion. But it makes me think about Christina Aguilera. But her genie is much hotter than this unholy mess that the NCAA has overseen. These kids are STILL being played by adults, and they are too greedy to see any of that. At least the farce of education of college athletes has now been drug out into the light.
I’m encouraged about this. I have both a grandson, who went to State championships and a granddaughter who has received invites to colleges with full scholarships for sports and academia. Unfortunately our guidance counselor is useless and did not help my grandson apply for any scholarships so he has fallen to the wayside and if he goes to college will be taking out massive loans. This same guidance counselor has no idea how to get a NcAA number for my granddaughter! She only helps certain families with the right name. Both have achieved success in sports, bringing grants to the school but they’re not being used for sports! My daughter works ft has 5 kids and is running her kids to sports events non stop. We live in a corrupt Republican county that does zero for the community but overtax us. Just struggling to get a NCAA number has driven my daughter over the edge. Every site provided is no help to her. Her daughter cannot get a sports scholarship without it. Too think that her sport(s) could be eliminated due to pay outs for certain boys/men’s sports is degrading when she has worked hard everyday to get where she is! Please hurry up Congress, Senate and pray the EO is solid and we get a reasonable judge!
I think we should keep congress out of this. In the end the money will end up in their bank accounts instead of the athletes.
Btw, make a new rule for the Olympics other than no transgenders; if you represent the USA, you respect our flag, country and President! Shut up or you’re off the team! Any anti American behavior during or after competition and Olympic Games comes with a hefty fine and medal stripping that goes to the silver participant on down!
When has any level of government (especially the feds – Congress especially) ever solved anything. Expect them to want a level playing field – your team gets 3 downs and first and 20 and your opponent gets 5 downs and first and 5. Holding legal for your opponent and you get penalized for blocking and tackling. As I always say, the most worthless organizations in the world from worst to less worse are the UN, the EU, Congress (tie between the House and the Senate) and the NCAA. The MSM is pushing the NCAA pretty hard.
I was a Division 2 athletic director and both my sons played college sports. Things are out of whack, now it is spreading to the high schools. My Grandsons play competitive baseball and some parents are demanding their kids play for free because they are currently the better players.
this is sick. College players at the high D1 level are not going to class or progressing towards a degree.
I am in total agreement with PT and his EO. We need to go back to the way things were handled before. Playing college sports is a privilege and is rewarded with scholarship money usually amounting to a free education. There is no justification for athletes to be paid because there are others profiting from college football….just the way the world works.
I knew when this was allowed that it would ruin the sport. Did not realize how disastrous and far reaching it would be to whole eco system. PT is right, this will not and can not be fixed even with agreements using the House bill as a baseline. The entire thing needs to be scrapped.
We all would like to have fair compensation in life. Being able to go to college and play football provides an opportunity for a life changing education for free, helps support the school you attend, helps support the other sports, brings people together to cheer for their favorite team. Now it is all about greed, the money and is fomenting negatives about certain players and their loyalty to fans, their school, and their fellow students. College is a place to learn not be compensated.
