It’s a strange time within the Intelligence Community. You can tell it’s all in flux when you see the New York Times giving a version of the story that is positive toward DNI Tulsi Gabbard, and the Wall Street Journal continuing with debunked/fake information still trying to get DNI Tulsi Gabbard removed.
The New York Times version appears to be the most truthful, factual and cited. It also makes the most sense.
In essence, two foreign nationals were having a phone call about Iran and discussing Jared Kushner’s role and influence in the policy of Trump toward Iran. The phone call was intercepted by a foreign intelligence agency, who then relayed their interpretation of the discussion to the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA).
NEW YORK TIMES – […] It was a discussion last year between two foreign nationals about Iran, not an unusual topic for American spies to study. But an intercept of that communication, collected by a foreign spy service and given to the United States.
[…] Mr. Kushner’s name was redacted in the original report from the National Security Agency, but people reading it, including the whistle-blower, were able to determine that the reference was to him.
[…] The foreign nationals, they said, were commenting on Mr. Kushner’s influence with the Trump administration. At a time last year when Mr. Kushner’s role in Middle East peace talks was less public than it is now, the foreign officials were recorded saying that he was the person to speak to in order to influence the talks.

If it was possible to tell the identity of the U.S. person (aka Kushner) simply by reading the intel report, and this report is simply gossip by two other people talking about a U.S. person, then yes, duh – the report should be secured and not spread.
This story becomes more of a nothingburger each time new information is leaked.

Kushner and Witkoff were in Oman for indirect nuclear talks with Iran, which took place on Friday, February 6, 2026, in Muscat. The discussions were mediated by Omani officials, including Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi.
Talks Status: The meeting was described as “positive” and “constructive” by both sides, with agreement to continue discussions.
President Trump called the talks “very good” and confirmed another round would be held early next week, (which is this week) – though Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said no specific date had been set yet.
A day after the talks, Witkoff and Kushner visited the USS Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea, a move widely seen as a show of U.S. military strength.
Iran and Oman were notified in advance of the carrier visit, underscoring the dual U.S. approach of diplomacy backed by deterrence.

Through deadlines and warnings, talks are still ongoing, confirmed by both sides.
To date, this, despite warnings of “steep consequences” and the bombing of their nuclear enrichment facilities; Iran came back for each round of “talks”. There is no question that Iran is still on their hardline of (according to them, “never”) giving up nuclear weapon/enrichments. If they have no intention of making a deal where certain compromises are expected of them to agree to, and abide by, to settle; why have they been coming back again over time?
The last time, as recent as Feb 06 2025. And, after that, saying talks were ““positive and constructive”; with more announcements that “talks are ongoing” (referencing Feb 13 2026) with agreement up to today; “to continue discussions”.
The surface rhetoric seems to be biding for time is a no-brainer. Expecting what? Certainly they can’t be expecting bags of US Dollars loaded on to an airplane in the dead of night, to be offered by this administration, this time around?

After the last destruction of their nuclear facilities; it is clear they are not serious. Sending another at this present time is strategically sound and with no question of employing it. Whatever response Iran will/can give this time around in terms of deploying any weapons they have will definitely meet with an ultimatum.

Not hard to understand at all. It appears you make the mistake most make: assuming the WSJ is a conservative paper. It is not.
The WSJ promotes the interests of large multinational corporations (Wall Street. It’s in their name). Period. Full stop. Although the corporatist interests most often track Conservative Inc. positions in that they both promote stability and eschew change, that does not make the WSJ a conservative outlet.
The entire Trump organization promotes change, upending and abandoning the existing order and creating a new international order. Freakout time in the boardroom. Can’t … have … THAT. So they undermine it any way that presents itself.

I think a lot of this is attempting to win favors with Tulsi in the context that she does have a great deal of influence not so much about the outcomes of the next fisa section 702 renewal but rather the policy regulation and practices that she may or may not implement.
for example…lets say that Congress reauthorizes section 702 in its current form. This DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN THAT TULSI IS FORCED TO SURVEILL AMERICANS “UNWITTINGLY”. And that IS a problem for Congress. it is a problem for certain financial interests where this sort of information is worth more than money itself.
Also, Tulsi can if she so choices to limit how the US intelligence agencies share or use foreign intelligence services to do what we know the former regime was doing. a means to do what the law otherwise does not permit. A way around the dubious and now very sensitive FISA court that everyone knows (say hello boasberg and now sit down and shut the eff up because your day is coming). that court was being weaponized and there is no reason to believe that does not continue to be the case today. It’s a opaque court, not sharing any information unless of course leaked to some commie rag. (say hello warner, now sit down and shut the eff up, your day is coming too).
so this might be about attempting to win favor with Tulsi because she wields powers either way. She could use them to spy on the corruptors. It’s possible they fear this more than any. So basically, playing nice to Tulsi might be a strategy they are using to send a not so subtle message. We are going to put a pause on manufacturing allegations towards you. In return, the silent message would appear, we would prefer that you not use those powers toward us. And furthermore, please continue to give intelligence to the gang of 8. All of it. In this way, the institutional corruption may continue and help us continue to enrich ourselves with this information which we depend on to fatten our wallets, protect our financial interests from any kind of market shock, well before the news and impact of it has the time to reach wall street, reach the retail sector, reach out enemies. you know help us protect the vital interests of our financial interests is of course a national security issue…or should be….that is probably what they are thinking.
as the government is about to shut down, there is a play here that I want to mention also. The uniparty wants none of the voting ID stuff made into law. But perhaps there is some bargaining to get that accomplished if for instance Tulsi and this President go along with a full renewal of the Fisa section 702. A trade off that could broker what is obviously a means to endanger and defraud all future national elections. You must be able to prove you have a lawful citizenship based status in order to vote. This should not be controversial…yet, it is obvious the demon the radicals left and at least half a dozen so called republicans are not going to vote for that. They want power, the ability to have a certain outcome in any future election. But is that really what they want? No. It’s the money. It’s always been about the money. And access to highly secretive intelligence is the means, not just the office and position. So there is a possibly play here and there is also a counter play that could develop. Formally, we will authorize section 702, but we will feed BAD Intel to Congress…on purpose and set them up and entrap them by recording what they are doing with this information to enrich their wallets, and their sponsors. if I understand your question correctly, the NSA can target anyone, but that’s not what they do THEY COLLECT EVERYTHING> all of it.
intelligence communities at cybercom (the military division, can query that specifically for military national security reasons..there is zero Fisa court or 702 requirements. Homeland can also do the same with some limits, many of which are unknown. For example, how much data does Homeland get from palantir, a private company about Americans? this loophole has existed for decades. 702 authorizations to not prohibit the central state, secret police state, from getting privately sources data. Should be against the law, but isn’t.
CIA has unfettered access to NSA database and presumably they can query anything they want. who watches over them to check and see anyone? Bueller? Bueller? this is the elephant in the room.
the FBI counter intelligence division can access and query as well. And there is some question about what limits actually exist in practice…versus what the law limits. We have direct evidence to give us this answer. hundreds of thousands of unlawful queries and no one has gone to jail over it. unmasking and leaks of searches and no one has gone to jail. Are we to expect anything has changed simply because Kash and Bondi are in position? we should question that.
but overall, the NSA mission is to collect and the to classify…and not just classify for secret protection of material, but to actually establish some kind of organization to the data that they collect, so that “analysts” (contractors mostly, many of which are not even US citizens but hold some kind of specialized skill on H1B visa or other tech work visa programs that the government doesn’t want to let you know about…these people do the actual task of doing a query…and applying some methods and techniques to provide a report about it that gives meaning and context. Basic voodoo 101 might be a better way, unless the traffic collected discusses direct evidence of a crime or some nefarious conspiracy to committ one. And that really isn’t what they are after anyway. it’s about knowing the secrets…secrets that provide some understanding of what would otherwise be a secret between two people, or peoples, organizations.
What started off as a foreign intelligence gathering system, to detect threats both direct and indirect to the interests of the US and its allies, has now turned into a full spectrum sweep of all communications, across the globe, and domestically here in the US and the main purpose appears to be to provide a very accurate and dependable model of how the work is operating financially, where money and decisions are being spent and made. This intelligence is more prized than money and this helps to understand why Congress really doesn’t give a flip about the unconstitutional lawlessness of it all. Because it makes them money without fail. It a no miss system if you know what to look for. And you can be sure that Nancy pelosi wasn’t just some incredible sage with a perfect batting average. No, she had intelligence and it was fed to her…I have no doubts about that. And to be fair, this isn’t just an issue with Nancy Pelosi, she’s just easy to talk about because she’s such a jackwagon. No, I believe everyone in Congress has access or at least passes along to each other out of otherwise secret classified briefing about some of the most impactful financial dealings that happens in the world. Most people just cannot help themselves…the temptation to get rich and trade this intel for vote favors must be enormous. It helps to explain how these people enter office with a typical net worth you would expect based on their private work, but then leave office (or stay either way), and bang, the networth is now gargantuan . Nothing like getting paid in DC. it’s why they work so hard to get these seats. It most certainly isn’t about actually doing a job that helps Americans and our pocket books.

Illegal immigration is (temporarily) contained only because of the unlikely election and re-election of Donald Trump, and accomplished simply by enforcing existing law (something his Bushie predecessors refused to do). A Jeb Bush, Romney or McCain presidency would have been nearly as bad as Biden. I note that the GOP has now controlled Congress for more than 13 months and done absolutely nothing to codify immigration enforcement or restriction, rein in visas, fund the wall or anything else.
So Biden is bad — got it. But how many of the 20 million or so that he let in will be forced to leave? 10%? 20%, at most. Why? Because the Chamber-of-Commerce Republicans in Congress refuse to enact laws that would expedite mass removals. They will not restrict asylum claims, they will not increase penalties on employers, they will not shut off wire transfers home, or the ability of illegals to get driver’s license, bank accounts, or even Social Security numbers.
They will do nothing, so 15 million or more will stay. That’s the problem, not the Democrats. I expect Democrats to try to destroy the country — it’s what they do. The “last days” are not a distant future but the current era of Christianity. Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, “having a form of godliness but denying its power” – those who who outwardly appear religious but lack genuine spiritual transformation. This resonates with modern religious hypocrisy and superficial faith (False Religion).
“And from such people turn away” – warning of falling into Spiritual Danger. We are to focus on the Scriptures, which are “God-breathed” and “useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness” (v. 16).
This is the primary defense against deception.
Despite the darkness, Paul reminds Timothy that godly living brings persecution, but also that the Bible equips believers for every good work (v. 17). The world’s decline is not a sign of failure, but a call to deeper faith and integrity. Encouragement for Believers.
This chapter is both a sobering mirror and a powerful call to remain anchored in Scripture, resist cultural corruption, and live with courage and truth.

How to improve the discussion:
Don’t dignify the person who made the complaint with the phrase “whistle blower.”
That gives his complaint too much respect.
Call him “the complainer.”
