I’m going out on a limb to suggest this is because of more enforcement actions against illegal aliens.
The corollary is that illegal aliens are brought in by the truckload to commit the crimes that Americans don’t want to do.

While I absolutely believe there has been a drop in violent crime due to President Trump’s decisive actions in sealing the Southern Border, the reality is that many crimes that happen in blue cities are simply going unreported these days, which is skewing the numbers across the board.
Because of the number of officers who left during 2020, from which most departments have NOT recovered, there are simply less officers to respond to calls or to take reports. Combining that with the fact that Leftist prosecutors and judges are refusing to hold people or to go after them with tough sentences, it may “look” like crime numbers are decreasing (and in some areas they are) but it is the story behind the numbers that needs to be looked at more closely, IMHO!
Look into Charlotte, NC. Shootings nightly some are homicides commited by ‘youths’.
The crime statistics being addressed are for violent crimes against citizens. I doubt the statistics include many, if any, blue collar crimes.

It’s interesting to watch a strategy being rolled out in real-time. Every aspect of policy is being, quite rightly, linked to ‘Biden’s’ policy of open borders. From inflation, affordability, housing, law and order, electoral fraud, medical costs, to even the climate, all are being linked to an overwhelmingly popular policy position of the removal of all illegal migrants, because people are beginning to recognise the damage they cause local communities and the nation itself. By relentlessly highlighting the link this recognition can only grow, an awakening that exposes an open flank on the Democrat side.
Here’s the problem with this sort of sell. We all know that Democrats fudged crime numbers. You can’t say their numbers are crap and tout the contrast with yours as legit. If their numbers mean nothing, then there’s no legitimate statistical contrast to be made. This will win no votes for the midterm.
If the Democrat Party fudged the figures to make them look better (DC we’re looking at you), then the gap is wider, unless you’re saying the Administration’s figures are based on equally dubious statistics, in which case where is your evidence. Anyway, a bit of a give away to your probable agenda at the end though, seems to be a recurring theme with some ‘posters’ at the moment, eight months out from the elections.
