It appears that the US and Israel will soon be making a move on Iran like they did in Iraq. US air support with Israel providing air and troops on the ground. This will send a clear message to Russia, China, Mexico, Cuba, Columbia and other nations who suppress the free will of their citizens. I used to believe that too, until I did some research and found out that’s not remotely how it happened. The Shah (Mohammad Reza Pahlavi) was not installed by the CIA and MI6. He had already been the ruler of Iran since 1941. His father had been its ruler since 1925. He was part of a legitimate Iranian royal dynasty.
Mossadegh (who was the Prime Minister, serving under the Shah) had been committing a power grab (dissolving Parliament, trying to usurp the Shah’s power, etc) and the particular way he chose to nationalize Iran’s oil (essentially seizing/stealing oil installations owned by Britain and refusing to make any reasonable deal) was idiotic and had disastrous results that tanked Iran’s economy. He also was not “democratically elected” as is often claimed. He was essentially committing a coup against the Shah, so what the CIA and MI6 did was really more of a counter coup.

The Islamic republic had spent decades building a network of powerful allies that came to dominate the region. Many Arabs wondered if the prospect of regime change in Tehran offered a chance to throw off Iran’s yoke in their own countries.

PARIS, Jan 14 – France is looking into sending Eutelsat satellite terminals to Iran to help citizens after Iranian authorities imposed a blackout of internet services in a bid to quell the country’s most violent domestic unrest in decades.
“We are exploring all options, and the one you have mentioned is among them,” French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said on Wednesday in the lower house after a lawmaker asked whether France would send Eutelsat gear to Iran. Backed by the French and British governments, Eutelsat owns the only other low Earth orbit constellation, or group of satellites, besides Elon Musk’s Starlink. Starlink service appears to be reduced, Alp Toker, founder of internet monitoring group NetBlocks said earlier this week.
These satellites are used to beam internet service from space, providing broadband connectivity to businesses, governments and consumers in under-served areas.

There are reports that US and UK military personnel stationed at bases in Qatar are being moved off the bases.
Refueling planes have also been moved.
