[I present this with a qualifier that will become clear in a few days. Christmastime is not the time for such conversations, yet. However, thankfully we do not yet need to go too deep into motivations – we will soon.]
Secretary of State, National Security Advisor and National Archivist Marco Rubio, presents a short year in review recap of some of the topline geopolitical issues. WATCH:
Secretary Rubio has been doing a stellar job in his dual role as Secretary of State and National Security Advisor. He has been one of the standout cabinet members in 2025 and deserves thankful recognition for his efforts.
Keep in mind, I spent 12 of his 14 years in the Senate skewering him for: (1) complying with McConnell, (2) going with the amnesty agenda (gang of eight), (3) supporting an interventionist foreign policy, (4) defending the corrupt elements in the deep state, (5) covering for Mark Warner’s covert activity on the SSCI (Russiagate), (6) and supporting sketchy shit.
That’s why I was blown away when Rubio, in 2025, admitted: (1) the Ukraine war was a proxy conflict between the USA and Russia, (2) the intelligence community lies, (3) the state dept has a duplicitous agenda, (4) USAID needed to be dissolved, (5) UNRWA was a corrupt money laundering operation, (6) and he would never get the votes now to be confirmed as Secretary of State.
Rubio made all of those six statements in 2025, while saying “this is the first time” he is not “constrained by the politics of running for office.”
I keep watching to see if there are backup boats on the horizon we do not see, because with absolute certainty, Rubio has burned all his Senate/Deep State support in his position as Sec of State/Nat Sec Advisor.
An absolutely stunning reversal is an understatement.

And the Senate will learn its lesson and force compliance promises on any replacement. And quickly accuse anyone Trump appoints of lying to them when they actually do anything Trump wants.

Secty Rubio sure has come a long way since his sweaty presidential bid in 2016. He certainly appears to understand and agree with President Trump’s foreign policy objectives, and he does a terrific job shutting down the Jackal Media whenever they try to undermine the president (which is always).
I’ve opined several times that I think Rubio has been the #1 most effective Trump appointee.
And he has a lot of competition: right behind him are Gabbard, Bessent, Hegseth, Noem, Zeldin, Duffy, and McMahon.
Bondi and Patel are not even close.
3 years to go. Is there enough time — and intention — to try to REALLY change things so that Trump’s successor doesn’t just do a Bush????

During the 2016 republican debates Lil Marco got Knocked down repeatedly by PDJT. I think that started the mentor/apprentice relationship between Rubio and Trump. After being pretty much humiliated, Rubio may have looked inside himself while observing PDJT do amazing things and thought, “this guy is somebody to watch”, and he did, very well.
Now we see the effect PDJT can have on people if they simply open their eyes. I think JD Vance has seen the same things that Big Marco has seen. If only more republicans and more of the general population would wake up.
Will 3 more years change the leftist democrats? Sure, for the worse. Will 3 more years change never Trumpers and RINO’s? Not very much. Will 3 more years change the large portion of America that just doesn’t care? Hopefully.
Lil Marco was teachable under PDJT. He listened. He learned. He was freed from the bondage of his Senate days. He’s like a bird let loose from a cage. Flying high. Formerly, he did what he had to do to survive. Under PDJT, he has the freedom not only survive, but thrive. He’s truly in his element. You can’t fake that.
So it’s our job to be ready with a list of PDJT’s accomplishments to memorize, to talk with uninformed people who may not be political enough to have kept up.
I also thought Rubio was a piece of dung. He is an example of what happens when the shackles of the deep state are removed.
Y’know, the only thing that I find missing in this carefully-crafted piece … is Secretary Rubio’s own important place in all of this.
One thing that we have all seen is the fact that “there is a team.” VP Pence is not merely a “spare tire.” Rubio is not merely a mouthpiece. The Attorney General, the FBI, the many others. They have been empowered to act on their own, and they are actively doing it. Perhaps they haven’t all “performed” as we might have liked, but the President has stood behind them all. And, he has not “blindsided” any of them.
This is, frankly, not a level of leadership that we have seen in many decades. And, this time, said “leadership” is not merely taking place “at the very top.” We are seeing teamwork at play.
Of course – having just said that – I realize that Rubio would be speaking “only for the team.” But I had to give him personal acknowledgement, nonetheless.
Fortunately Pence is no longer the VP….:)

I don’t have a vote, however, I hope Rubio does run for President. In my opinion, after watching JD Vance lately, he is a little too sure of his elevation to President in 2028.
He is NOT a Natural Born Citizen, therefore NOT ELIGIBLE TO THE PRESIDENCY (OR VP).

At this time, it appears that JD with be the heir apparent for ’28, but I believe Rubio should continue to be SoS in the same manner as he is now. He is one step behind PDJT and in his stead in his absence. I see him as more influential than JD is or will be in foreign affairs. He has been spectacular.

We keep waiting for a misstep that will prove that Rubio’s new persona is just a guise for something else, but that misstep has not happened. Perhaps there is some truth in not being constrained by the politics of running for office, or being free from the constraints of McConnell, or being allowed to be his own man, I wonder if President Trump saw this potential when no one else did. We all questioned the president’s choice in Rubio, actually evidence by the 99-0 vote for him in the Senate. Whatever it is, I wish him well, and hope that he continues in this trajectory. If so, I suspect at some point we will be saying President Rubio.
I thought his speech at Charlie Kirk’s funeral was genuine, and I’ve never heard someone present the Gospel so clearly from a place of deceit. If his change of heart comes from Christian conviction, there is no ceiling to what he can accomplish.

It baffled me as to why PDJT appointed SoS/NSA Rubio as National Archivist. Then I remembered the evil part the former archivist played in the MAL raid…our genius President isn’t going to let any National Archivist do that again. Smart move, as always.
Wearing 3 hats for Trump indicates that Trump sees Rubio actually knows how to manage people to achieve goals.
This is how our current POTUS has always operated. This “One Minute Manager” style is why so much is being accomplished.

I was most impressed with his confession of faith at Charlie Kirk’s funeral. A person will blow hot and cold, depending on the winds of politics. But giving glory to Jesus Christ, publicly, is tantamount to a declaration of war not only against the Deep State, but against this dark world system, which is antithetical to Christianity.

Now good Sundance please consider that your harsh judgement of folks like Pat Byrne, Emerald Robinson, and Mike Flyn may be just as rash and ill conceived! People change and life /politics is damn complicated as you well know Sundance. You have only so much band width Sundance as all us humans should know. Based on Rubio’s first year at NARA and the executive mandates currently in play, here is what we can expect him to release.
In early December 2025, the House Judiciary Committee formally requested that Rubio produce all documents related to the FBI’s ‘Arctic Frost’ and ‘Plasmic Echo’ investigations (covering the dubious 2021–2025 period). These files represent the modern vault of the Department of Justice’s activities against political outsiders. Rubio is expected to bypass the standard 25-year waiting period by citing Executive Priority. Expect a massive data dump in Q1 2026 that exposes the internal communications between the FBI and the DOJ during the previous administration.
Following the June 2025 court order from Judge Boasberg, Rubio is now legally mandated to collect and archive encrypted Signal messages from top officials. While the lawsuit was intended to catch the current administration, Rubio is weaponizing the same protocol to sweep the deleted and encrypted communications of the previous agency heads who used Signal to bypass the Federal Records Act. The first batch of recovered Signal metadata is expected to hit the archives in mid-2026 which will undoubtably influence the elections.
Under the UAP Disclosure Act of 2025, which Rubio himself helped architect, 2026 marks the Deadline for agencies to identify and centralize all records related to Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena.
